The Boys Who Cry Racism. [Scroll down]
Those liberals who've lately been issuing the racism charge so promiscuously (speaking of aberrant hearts and minds) are
aiming it not at skinheads living in their parents' basements or at would-be Klansmen, but at decent Americans with the
temerity to object to presidential policies that they believe would damage both the quality of their lives and the nation
itself: in short, at Americans acting in the best tradition of democratic citizenship. This is so preposterous
that literally millions who've never before given the matter any thought are taking notice.
Replacing Black Power With Militant Islam.
Even with the age of Obama dawning, for too many black Americans life is still fraught with the same old "us
against them" sort of thinking. Where once militant blacks paraded in pseudo military garb claiming the
mantle of "black power" and patterning themselves as "panthers" thrusting an angry fist into the air, now
they cling to the separatist ideals of militant Islam.
The
lack of coverage over horrific black-on-white killings in America's Deep South. It was the kind of crime that
strikes terror into the hearts of parents everywhere. A bright young couple were carjacked after a Saturday night date
and murdered in the most brutal way imaginable. Christopher Newsom, 23, was tied up and raped, shot in the back of the
head and then dragged to a railway track and set on fire. His girlfriend, 21-year-old University of Tennessee student
Channon Christian's fate was even more horrific.
Imagined ethnicity and
Obama: It is "black" Americans who pay the highest price for living under the dominion of the
exploitative political class which Obama now exemplifies — and which another Hawaii student has
just begun to discover.
Hating Whitey
Makes Unexpected Comeback. From anyone's pre-election calculations, an Obama presidency
held the promise of relieving America's white citizens of their centuries-long guilt over slavery and
civil-rights injustices. Such, however, has not been at all the case and hating whitey is
making an unexpected comeback.
Before Dreams,
There Was Roots. As evidence mounts that Obama did not exactly write Dreams
unassisted, [Rocco] Landesman gives us a good indication of how America's cultural honchos will react.
For a century, in fact, they have been heaping uncritical praise on undeserving artists of a certain political
stripe, especially minority artists. And for a century, they have been pulling the curtain shut behind
their pet wizards when anyone questions their wizardry.
Top Ten Reasons Black America
Fears Rush Limbaugh. [#10] If you want to believe blacks are eternal victims in America, do not listen to
Rush Limbaugh. [#9] If you do not want to take responsibility for your life, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.
[#8] If you are a dead beat loser who voted for Obama in hope of him redistributing what others worked for to you,
do not listen to Rush Limbaugh.
Black
Leaders Ignore Black-on-Black Crime. Derrion [Albert] had walked into the middle of a fight between two
rival black gangs. He attempted to help one of the victims in the melee and was killed for his trouble. This
took place in Barack Obama's Chicago. All his work for "social justice" did a great deal for Obama, but it did
nothing for Derrion Albert.
Why is the Left so angry at
Blacks who love America? I stated three things in [a CNN] interview. One, I refer to myself as an
American rather than a hyphenated African-American. Two, the tea party protests are against President Obama's
policies, not his race. The protesters are decent hardworking concerned citizens. Three, the American people
are not racist. These statements inspired immediate outrage from the so-called tolerant and compassionate Left.
An email from a self proclaimed Marxist threatened physical harm to me. ... A creative leftist called me a "Toxic Negro".
Another called me a "sell out".
The R-bomb: Are You A Racist?
Racism today belongs to a class of words whose definitions have remarkably little fixed meaning. But racism
once described unwholesome behavior that on its own was measurable — like refusing to sell your home to members
of certain minorities. Somewhere along the line, what began to identify racism seems to have changed,
from the behavior itself, to whether someone took offense.
Is
Disagreement with Obama Racism? When one says that race is no longer the problem it once was,
it is not the same as saying that there are not major problems that confront a large segment of the black
population. Grossly fraudulent education is a major problem but it has nothing to do with racial
discrimination as evidenced by the fact that the worse education received is in the very cities where blacks
dominate the political structure. Crime is a major problem but it has nothing to do with racial
discrimination, particularly in light of the fact that blacks commit most of the violent crime in America and
well over 90 percent of their victims are black. The fact of a 70 percent illegitimacy rate
and only 35 percent of black children raised in two-parent homes is a major problem but it has nothing
to do with racial discrimination.
5
Reasons Obama's Election Is Bad For Race Relations: [#1] Black Democrats put race first to elect
Obama: It's no longer a surprise when black Democrats vote as an almost monolithic block for Democratic candidates
over Republicans. It's just something that has come to be expected. However, when black Americans started
voting for Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton by the same lopsided margins that people normally saw in general elections,
it sent a simple message: With black Americans, race comes first. If white Americans felt the same way,
there's certainly no way that Barack Obama could ever have been elected President.
Inner
cities provide a snapshot of America's future. Blacks are not given enough credit for being
trendsetters in America. Blacks started playing the blues, jazz, and R&B, then the rest of America
started playing them. Blacks discovered the politics of victimhood, then the rest of America started
catching on. Black women got into having babies without marriage. Then white women started getting
into it and the incidence of white out-of-wedlock births today — almost 30 percent — is
higher than the black rate in the 1960's. Blacks bought into dependency and the welfare
state. Now the rest of America has bought in.
Why I am no longer an African
American. As a black woman in the Age of Obama, I don't see anything that reveals that Blacks in America
have anything to celebrate. ... It is obvious that the inspiration for the classification of African American has nothing
to do with those born of African descent. It is a radical group of Black Americans who hold to the anti-American
views of those shared by Jeremiah Wright, Professor Gates, Jesse Jackson, President Obama and many others who came out
of the radical Civil Rights Movement. Because of these things, I now part ways with the classification of
African American because I hold no allegiance to Africa.
Happy Now, Mr. Holder?
What a mess. Everyone is electrified by the pervasive racism in the air, yet not one racist statement or
action can be pinpointed amid the ambi-directional outrage. Near misses are everywhere. Serena Williams
blows up at a U.S. Open line judge of a different ethnicity. Rapper Kanye West interrupts the award
acceptance speech of a white singer only to praise her black competitor. A white teen is beaten up
by two black teens on a school bus in Illinois and the mostly black teenage audience cheers. But those
stories, from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and adolescence serve as the collective backdrop for the
main near-miss events at the heart of American government.
The Obsolescence
of a Slur. Are Obama's critics really racists? It is a serious charge. If true, it means
the hope of a color-blind society is essentially over after a half-century of civil-rights progress. If false,
it means that we have institutionalized vicious smears as legitimate political tactics — and, in the
process, discredited the entire dialogue that surrounds racial prejudice. How do we determine the
accuracy of the "racism" charges?
Tiger Woods:
The First $1B Athlete. Tiger Woods had two reasons to celebrate his victory at the FedEx Cup in
Atlanta last Sunday. Not only did he earn another trophy, he set another record as well, becoming the
first athlete to top $1 billion in career earnings, according to Forbes magazine.
Questions
Even Glenn Beck Hasn't Asked. [Scroll down] Why, in 2009 America, are mulattoes invariably
identified as blacks? Surely there is nothing wrong with being a mulatto. There is no stigma
attached, as once there was. It merely refers to those who have one white parent and one black.
Dear White Liberal America:
Thank you very, very much. You see us poor helpless inferior blacks (oh forgive me, I must be politically
correct, "African Americans"), and you want to help us using your superior intellect. After all,
we could not possibly succeed in this racist, homophobic and greedy country without your assistance.
Obama's Well Organized Community Is Falling
Apart. Obama has spent an entire lifetime surrounded by some of the world's worst thugs.
If he is unable to move their agenda forward, his life will be at risk from within his own ranks. ... Even
though I oppose everything Obama is and everything he stands for, I pray for his safety. You can bet your
last dollar... his well organized community is falling apart as his agenda begins to crumble. They will
be very motivated to ignite a second civil war as they watch their agenda die a brutal political death.
Is Racial Profiling
Racist? People differ by race and sex. Let's look at a few profiling examples to see which ones you'd
like outlawed. According to the American Cancer Society, the lifetime risk of men getting breast cancer is
about 1/10th of 1 percent, or 1 in 1,000 ... For women, the risk of developing breast cancer is about 12 percent,
or 1 in 8 ... Should doctors and medical insurance companies be prosecuted for the discriminatory practice of
routine breast cancer screening for women but not for men?
Who's a Racist? Do Barack Obama
and the Democrat Party foster racism and use it as a political tool? The cold, hard truth that no one
on the Left wants to admit is that they do.
More
about liberals and minorities.
Democrats Jumping
the Race-Card Shark.. A rather inconvenient fact, however, is that the only reported act of
racial violence so far happened on Tuesday [9/15/2009] on a public school bus in St. Louis and the
offenders were black, the victim white. An apparently unprovoked attack on a high school student took
place over — get this — a seat on the bus.. The irony is downright nerve-wrenching.
A black student beat the white student to the cheers of his black classmates and the bus driver supposedly
did nothing to intervene. KKK in reverse? That's a lot more violence than Rosa Parks got over her
seat on the bus. In fact, Rosa Parks wasn't on the receiving end of anything more than arrogant stares.
Black
Radicals Cite Racism and Capitalism as Causes of Black Troubles. [Carl] Dix and [Cornel] West
are living embodiments of the leftist worldview which holds that all human pathology is rooted, ultimately,
in the external world, in the society at large, rather than within the hearts and minds of individual people.
This axiom leads, logically, to the leftist precept that the only way to improve the lives of the masses is not
merely to tinker around the edges, but rather to structurally transform the foundational institutions of the
nation — most especially its capitalist economic system.
Impersonating a Victim.
This past March 29th, Professor Henry Louis Gates was being interviewed in front of a small group by Walter
Isaacson on C-SPAN's Book TV. Thirty-three minutes into the discussion about his new book on Lincoln,
Professor Gates began a detailed account of his own genealogy. He said that in doing so he had discovered
he was about "50% white". He said that this was quote, "To my astonishment and horror...".
He continued by saying that he had subsequently sent his DNA off to be tested. This time, upon finding out
he was "57% white", he said again, "to my horror .... I was becoming more white by the minute". To
this Gates, Isaacson and everyone else there chuckled. Something tells me that if Mr. Isaacson had said
that he also had sent his DNA off and found that to his "astonishment and horror" he was 57% black, no one
would chuckle, least of all the Professor of African American Studies at Harvard, Dr. Gates.
The Reality
of Black Crime. I'll be ready to concede that "race" — defined, per Obama, Holder,
Ogletree, and Gates, as racism and skin color — remains a significant factor in social outcomes
when the same proportion of black children as white children are raised in two-parent, married households
without greatly lowering the black poverty rate, or when black crime drops to white and Asian levels without
proportionally reducing the black prison population. Until we conduct that experiment, though —
which is wholly within the capacity of individuals to do — I'll remain skeptical that the race
activists' favorite "race issues" are predominantly the consequence of white Americans' atavistic bigotry.
When will White America be off
the Hook for Sins of the Past? Oprah, a black woman, is the richest and most influential woman in America
and possibly the world. ... Did I mention that the president of the United States of America is a black man? With
blacks only 13% of the U.S. population, none of these extraordinary black achievements could have happened without
tremendous support from white America. So, when will white America be off the hook for sins of the past?
No wonder black America doesn't have a clue.
While flipping through the channels with my remote, I stopped on the movie "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" on BET
(Black Entertainment Television). Excellent movie. During a commercial break, they gave a news
update. An announcer said, "They tried to get the Bronx kid, Sonia Sotomayor, but she beat them." There
was not one mention of Sotomayor's controversial racist statements. Thus, ill-informed black viewers who
don't follow the news closely are led to conclude that those "evil racist white Republicans" are at it again
trying to block a person of color.
More Scandals Haunt Sotomayor. False
accusations against white people are tolerated by the media, even the conservative media. This is why Al Sharpton
is a frequent guest on the O'Reilly show, despite his participation in the Tawana Brawley hoax, whereby he falsely
accused a group of white men of raping a black woman. But accurate accusations of racism against members of
minority groups who make racist statements are not tolerated.
How About A National Conversation on Race Hoaxes?
[Scroll down] We wouldn't have known about this case at all if the professor, Henry Louis Gates Jr., hadn't blast
e-mailed the universe that he was harassed by racist cops. Gates thought it would be a feather in his cap, not
realizing there are huge areas of the country where people don't think it's heroic to browbeat cops checking on you after
you break into your own house, such as 99 percent of the country outside of Cambridge.
Obama's Criminal
Silence. Today, I spoke briefly with a liberal member of California's education establishment (forgive
the obvious tautology), who told me that his Berkeley home had recently been broken into while he was in Washington,
D.C. It's been a wake-up call, he said. We were too lax. We'll be putting in a security-alarm
system. And then came the clincher: "This is a very diverse neighborhood." Now what would
possibly be the relevance of that euphemism to the likelihood of getting burgled, I wonder?
Why Racialism? Why is Sonia Sotomayor
allowed to get away with being described, or describing herself as "non-white"? I thought, as every MSM or government
report on any race statistics puts it: "Hispanics can be of any race." She looks strikingly like my wife's
in-laws — Italian. Are Italians not "white"?
King Family Takes Fees From Funds Raised for
the MLK Memorial Project. The family of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. has charged the
foundation building a monument to the civil rights leader on the National Mall about $800,000 for the
use of his words and image — an arrangement one leading scholar says King would have found
offensive.
Race Talk for "African-Americans". What
to call black people has to be confusing to white people. Having been around for 73 years, I have
been through a number of names. Among the polite ones are: colored, Negro, Afro-American, black, and
now African-American. Among those names, African-American is probably the most unintelligent.
Instituting a Safeguard Against Political & Ideological
Tyranny. It is fairly clear, to anyone paying attention, that the people of the United States are currently
suffering the political tyranny of the special interest minority. ... Instead of celebrating the hybrid identity that is
American and standing as one people in support and defense of a singular culture we have become a country of hyphenated
Americans all too willing to put our individual and special interest needs ahead of honest politics, good government
and Americanism.
Of course he's a socialist.
[President Obama] apparently believes that the people of color of all races — Chinese, Malays,
Native Americans, Cubans, Hawaiians, Andaman Islanders, Indonesians, Eskimos, Philipinos, Africans, and even
Muslims — have been systematically persecuted by whites. That is bizarrely wrong as a point
of fact, if you just look at the actual majority of Asian kids in some of the best American universities
today; or if you look at the decades of foreign aid Americans have given to poor nations.
Obama's Popularity
Falling -- But Not Among Blacks. On Monday, the daily presidential tracking poll for Rasmussen
Reports showed that Barack Obama no longer has the job performance approval of a majority of Americans. His
overall approval rating was down to an even 50 percent. Released on the same day was a demographic
breakdown of that rating: only 41 percent of white Americans approve of the job he's doing, while
97 percent of blacks approve and 58 percent of all other ethnicities combined approve.
The Editor says...
I suspect the blacks will approve of him as long as he continues to be black, no matter what he does.
Uncle sam redefines "parents" -- problem solved!
Black
Families Showing Gains? The New York Times headline "2-Parent Black Families Showing
Gains," Wednesday seemed like great news. After decades of decline, more black kids are finally growing
up with their mothers and fathers! Alas, check out the third paragraph of the piece: "The Census
Bureau attributed an indeterminate amount of the increase to revised definitions adopted in 2007, which
identify as parents any man and woman living together, whether or not they are married or the child's
biological parents."
Re: Holder's Shame. The elephant
in the room in discussions of race isn't white prejudice; it's the breakdown of the black family and all the attendant
social pathologies that emanate from it. When 7-out-of-10 black babies are born to single women and more than half
of black children spend most of their childhood without a father at home, there are consequences: lower academic
performance, more juvenile delinquency and adult crime, more dependence on government assistance, and a greater likelihood
to repeat the cycle again by having more children born out of wedlock to the next generation. Yet virtually no one
in the black community in any position of authority and responsibility is willing to talk about this issue.
White guilt? Done; over; history.
There's a massive silver lining in the magical clouds that lofted Barack Obama to the presidency. For today,
without a shred of intellectually legitimate opposition, I can loudly proclaim to America: The Era of
White Guilt is over. This seemingly impossible event occurred because the vast majority of white Americans
didn't give a fluff about skin color and enthusiastically pulled the voting lever for a black man. Not
just any black man. A very liberal black man who spent his early career race-hustling banks, praying in
a racist church for 20 years, and actively working with America-hating domestic terrorists. Yet
white Americans made Barack Obama their leader. Therefore, as of Nov. 4, 2008, white guilt is dead.
Should
Obama's replacement be black? Although Barack Obama's historic election will place an
African-American in the White House, it will reduce the number of African-Americans in the Senate to
zero. That's an even lonelier number than one, and it is not a number that this nation should be
proud of. So the question is: Does Obama's replacement in the Senate have to be black?
The Editor says...
Evidently the author believes that skin color is a candidate's primary qualification. The last thing
this country needs is a racial quota in the Senate. Nor should there be an assumption that only blacks
can represent certain parts of the country.
The End Of
Racism? Sure, there are racists. There are also rust and mosquitoes, and there always
will be. Life goes on. I know — what about "societal" racism? Well, if we can now
relax about the backward folk "out there," then maybe Obama in the White House can help open up an honest
discussion about the role racism does not play in black communities' problems.
The chilling and
cowardly words of Eric Holder: Attorney General Eric Holder thinks Americans are "a nation of cowards" on
matters of race. This is the same Holder who kowtowed to Bill Clinton to help secure Clinton's pardon of fugitive
financier Marc Rich. And the same Holder who prostrated himself to Hillary Clinton's political ambitions by helping
arrange pardons for 16 Puerto Rican terrorists. Now, he has the nerve to call the rest of us cowards, even as he
speaks as the man who controls the entire federal law-enforcement apparatus? Quite simply, Holder has insulted all
Americans, regardless of age or ethnicity.
We Are All Cowards Now.
What's so disconcerting is that a man at the top of his profession, with a wife at the top of hers, in a country that has
rewarded his accomplishments and whose people have made epic strides toward the creation of an equitable society, lectures
us in a way that can only divide us. But that's the infernal paradox of multiculturalism. It preaches tolerance
but practices divisiveness. It pretends to be even-handed but imposes severe restrictions on speech. It censors
brilliant scholars and independent-minded students. And then the Attorney General criticizes those who don't want to
play that self-destructive game.
MLK Vision Fulfilled, say
Blacks. On the first Martin Luther King holiday since Barack Obama was elected President of the United
States, most blacks say the King vision is fulfilled, according to a CNN Poll. ... The truth is: whatever people
feel, the objective facts are that blatant racism, expressed in laws that limit the rights of non-white races in the
public square, is a very small problem today. And that's a good thing.
Getting Beyond Race (And White
Guilt): The fact that the nation elected a black president hopefully might turn our attention
away from the false notion that discrimination explains the problems of a large segment of the black community,
to the real problems that have absolutely nothing to do with discrimination. The illegitimacy rate among
blacks stands at about 70%. Less than 40% of black children are raised in two-parent households.
Those are major problems, but they have nothing to do with racial discrimination.
How
Can a "Fellow Black Republican" Oppose Obama? Do you know that Democrats opposed the 13th, 14th
and 15th amendments to the Constitution — abolishing slavery, granting citizenship rights to newly
freed slaves, and guaranteeing the right to vote (at least on paper) to blacks, respectively? Do you
know that most of the politicians who stood for segregation were Southern Democrats? Do you know that
the Ku Klux Klan was founded by Democrats, one of whose goals was to stop the spread of the Republican Party?
Do you know that, as a percentage of the party, more Republicans than Democrats voted for the Civil Rights Act
of 1964?
Fidel Castro Endorses
Obama — Again. For the record: Fidel Castro, forcibly overthrew a black Cuban
head of state (Fulgencio Batista) and replaced his government with one where only nine percent of the ruling
Stalinist party is black and where the prison population is 80 to 90 percent black. He jailed
the longest suffering black political prisoner of modern history (Eusebio Penalver who suffered longer in
Castro's dungeon's than Nelson Mandela suffered in South Africa's.) He sentenced other blacks (Dr Elias
Biscet, Jorge Antunez) to 20 year sentences essentially for quoting Martin Luther King Jr. in a public
square.
Readiness
crucible. [Barack] Obama's success is truly a remarkable commentary on the goodness of Americans and
how far we've come in resolving matters of race. I'm 72 years old. For almost all of my life,
a black having a real chance at becoming the president of the United States was at best a pipe dream.
Mr. Obama has convincingly won primaries in states with insignificant black populations. As such,
it further confirms what I've often said: The civil rights struggle in America is over and it's won.
Obama's Racial Catch-22:
The rapturous coverage of the Obama campaign during the primary was less about Obama himself than it was America
congratulating itself for being willing to consider a black man for president, with the subtext being that the
United States had finally liberated itself from its racist past.
Conservative
Blacks Choose Pigment Over Principle. What is it about this man that has thoughtful, conservative
blacks like Armstrong Williams and JC Watts saying they might vote for him? It can't be his left of
left politics that makes even Ted Kennedy look conservative. What thinking conservative could actually
support a man who is going to raise taxes, increase the size of government, redistribute wealth, burden small
businesses and the working class, and play nice with people who want to destroy us?
Saving us from the race
card. The temptation for black conservatives who disagree with Mr. Obama on everything to vote
for him anyway as a gesture of racial solidarity is understandable. A lot of Southern whites, thrilled
that one of their own could make it to the White House for the first time since the Civil War, voted for
Jimmy Carter. We've been trying to live down the shame of it since.
Black
Republicans are unfairly marginalized, demonized and vilified. What is it about black
Republicans that makes black Democrats cuss them, ignore them, or call them names? When I was a
Democrat, I never paid much attention to the negativity hurled at black Republicans. That's probably
because I never bought into the habit of gossiping about people or calling them names. My main focus
had always been about people's deeds — whether positive or negative.
The
Impact Of Violence On Public Education: In large and mid-sized cities there remain a
disproportionate number of minority students as compared with suburban and rural schools. In New York,
80 percent of the students in the state's large and mid-sized cities are minority, compared with
6 percent in suburban and rural areas. In Pennsylvania the ratio is 65 percent to
4 percent, and in Washington D.C., 96 percent of the total school population is minority.
The Editor says...
If 94 percent are in the minority, one of us doesn't know what "minority" means.
Racial Organizations:
There are hundreds of organizations in the state and the country that are restricted to only black members.
Are they not racists? … Although Huntsville, Alabama has a city Chamber of Commerce, at one time headed
by a black person, blacks created their own Chamber — no whites allowed. Also, in Huntsville, blacks
have their own telephone book — no white businesses allowed. And, there are a host of other
all-black organizations, including their own Masonic Lodge. Isn't this racist?
Michael
Moore, Frank Rich, Jeremiah Wright and John Hagee: Whether out of guilt or because of its own racist views
(i.e., the unspoken but regularly implied belief in the inferiority of African-Americans), the left-of-center's general
attitude toward black Americans has been that they cannot be judged by the same standards as others. From lowering
standards of admission to universities to blaming the high number of black men in prison for violent crimes on white racism
to decades of cultivating black victimhood and the subsequent Wright-like rage against America, liberals and their party,
the Democrats, have immeasurably hurt African-Americans and America.
Black and other nonwhite violence against
whites: a grim collection. In recent weeks, I have posted a great many articles on the
ongoing outbreaks of black on white violence in this country and elsewhere — and not just
"ordinary" criminal violence, but violence of a specifically savage and threatening character.
A
betrayal of the civil rights struggle. During the 2003-04 school year, only 52 of the nation's
92,000 public schools were labeled "persistently dangerous," a designation under the No Child Left Behind Act
entitling students to move to an alternate "safe" school. Philadelphia had 14 schools labeled as
"persistently dangerous" and Baltimore had six.
School violence, including assaults on teachers and
staff, is not restricted to inner city schools but occurs also in suburban and rural schools. However,
the bulk of the violence is at schools with large black populations.
The Race Minefield:
It was a moving speech [at the 2004 Democratic National Convention], filled with hopeful sentiments. But
two years later, Senator Barack Obama, with two years' experience in the Senate and his eye on a presidential
run, taped a radio ad attacking the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI), going out of his way to defend racial
preference policies that by their very definition divide Americans into blacks, whites, Latinos, and Asians.
Why Shakir Can't Read:
Shakir's family situation is a significant part of his problem. He is one of four children to a twenty-something
mother who has three other children by three different men, and she might well be pregnant again by her current
boyfriend. Shakir's mother is unemployed and on welfare.
Too
White to Win? Democratic Rep. Stephen Cohen
has worked tirelessly on behalf of his
constituents and even went so far as to sponsor an official Congressional apology for slavery that passed
the House last week in an apparent effort by Democratic leaders to bolster his chances. But Mr. Cohen
hasn't been welcomed by many black leaders. He made a clumsy attempt to join the Congressional Black
Caucus this year, and was rebuffed.
If this isn't black racism in action, what is it?
Black caucus calls for more diversity in
bailouts. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus on Monday criticized the lack of minority
participation in the government's financial bailouts and suggested that President Barack Obama isn't doing
much better than his predecessor to ensure diversity.
Rene Marie's 15 Minutes of Fame
Hijacked anthem brings a
chorus of complaints. Rene Marie
was supposed to sing the Star-Spangled Banner at
Tuesday's State of the City address [7/1/2008] in Denver, but she substituted the lyrics with a song of her
own choosing. Marie sang "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," a song informally referred to as the "black
national anthem."
Singer subs 'black anthem' for
'Star Spangled Banner'. A singer who was to perform the "Star Spangled Banner" at the presentation
of Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper's State of the City address yesterday substituted the "Black National
Anthem" without notifying anyone, because she says as a black, she just doesn't feel American.
Why
a Black Artist Replaced the National Anthem: Last week in Denver, almost all the values of the post-1960s
left were exhibited in one act. It happened on the Denver mayor's most important day — the
one in which he was to deliver his annual State of the City Address. The day was to begin with the
singing of the National Anthem by the black jazz singer Rene Marie. But Ms. Marie had, by her own
admission, long had other plans.
Why
a Black Artist Replaced the National Anthem: [Scroll down] The left's second contribution to Marie's value
system has been its elevation of feelings above other values. For example, one determines right and wrong
on the basis of how one feels (as opposed to, let us say, asking what one's religion, or God, or any moral law
that transcends one's own feelings would say on a given matter). Now, the elevation of one's feelings
above other considerations is generally viewed as a form of narcissism. And while narcissism is as old
as humanity, until the 1960s it was generally regarded as a character flaw. Since the 1960s, however,
it was more often heralded as a virtue.
One nation, one anthem.
As an individual with free will [Rene Marie] certainly had the choice and opportunity to do what she did. But she's not
protected from public rebuke for an inappropriate, unethical and deceitful.
Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing is not
the black national anthem for the simple reason that there is no black nation on the North American continent.
African-Americans are Americans, not Liberians.
Five
Racial Absolutes Become Myths: White churches no longer have an invisible "no blacks wanted" sign
hung over their doors. The integration of congregations is not just being led by white pastors. In
1981, I was one of the first black preachers in America to lead a predominately white congregation. What
was novel in those years, is becoming more and more common place today.
The Real Agenda of
Black Liberation Theology. In an article in the Washington Post, unnamed ministers commented
that black liberation theology "encourages a preacher to speak forcefully against the institutions of
oppression
" And what might these institutions be? They are not specified. But
it is safe to say that they are not the welfare state or the Democratic Party. Given that black
liberation theology is a product of the dreary leftist politics of the twentieth century, the very vehicles
employed by the left to advance statism certainly can't be the culprits. For the left, black liberation
theology makes for close to a perfect faith. It is a political creed larded with religion. It serves
not to reconcile and unite blacks with the larger cultural, but to keep them separate.
Afrocentrism Is
the Problem. At its heart, Afrocentrism is based on a profoundly anti-white and paranoid
ideology. First, it asserts that the entire foundation of Western Civilization was stolen by the
Greeks from Egypt, which, Afrocentrics claim, was ruled by ancient blacks. Second, it claims that whites
are deeply inferior. Afrocentric texts often describe whites as "ice people," whose defective melanin,
or skin pigmentation, makes them susceptible to a host of mental and physical deficiencies, including sexual
deviancy. And, finally, Afrocentrism encourages blacks to fear whites.
FBI Alarmed At Murder Rate
Among Black Men. Both violent and property crimes in the United States declined in 2007 from the
previous year, the FBI reported Monday [6/9/2008]. But one expert warned the figures could mask a growing
murder problem among young black men. ... "We shouldn't be fooled into thinking our problems are over," said
[James Alan] Fox, a criminal justice professor at Northeastern University. Fox said that from 2002 to
2006, the rate of murder committed by black male teens rose 52 percent.
A Black
Conservative Lament: [A cable TV news channel] ran a long segment with a black comedian/actor,
talking about how he tells his son each and every day about how to talk to the police and how black men must
be wary of cops.
The truth is that his son has more to fear from other young black men than he does from
the police. I then quoted a homicide statistic: 94 percent of black homicide victims are killed
by other black people. It was dismissed by the moderator so we could focus instead on how racist the
cops are. Unbelievable.
Murders of Black Teens Are Up 39% Since 2000-01.
[Scroll down] An overwhelming proportion of the killings involve black-on-black crime. The reasons for high rates of
violence in African-American communities have been the subject of debate among criminologists. Some
attribute it to the migration of prison culture, with large numbers of incarcerated young men returning to
their communities.
Murders Jump in Obama's
Back Yard as Chicago Cuts Police Hires. The recession is stinging in President-elect Barack Obama's
hometown, where the Chicago Police Department is slowing hiring even as murders increase. Murders in Chicago
rose 16 percent in the first 10 months of the year. The city's homicide rate is triple New York's
and double that of Los Angeles.
Baltimore's homicide
rate moves to No. 1 among big cities. Baltimore had its lowest homicide total in two decades last year,
but data released this week show the city's homicide rate was No. 1 among the nation's largest cities in 2008.
Despite recording its lowest number of killings in 20 years in 2008 — 234, down from 282 in 2007 —
there were 37 homicides per 100,000 city residents last year, ahead of Detroit at 34 per 100,000 and Washington,
D.C., at about 31. No other city with a population of more than 500,000 came close...
Media's
Double Standard on Race-based Voting: It is not really relevant, frankly, to point out that most
black voters are going to vote in droves for Barack Obama. Regardless of his race, black voters would
vote for the Democrat. But when you read about Congressman Steve Cohen's race in Tennessee's Ninth
Congressional District, you really are confronted by both racism and anti-Semitism in a way we rarely think
about in this country. And the media is silent. Barack Obama is silent.
Ebony and Irony.
Put simply, there is no evidence to suggest that blacks aren't committing the majority of homicides in general
and first degree murders in particular. Nor is there any evidence to suggest that proponents of affirmative
action will demand that we begin to execute more blacks to make up for their present under-representation in
American death chambers.
Inconspicuous Consumption: About seven years
ago, University of Chicago economists Kerwin Kofi Charles and Erik Hurst were researching the "wealth gap" between black and
white Americans when they noticed something striking. African Americans not only had less wealth than whites with
similar incomes, they also had significantly more of their assets tied up in cars. The statistic fit a stereotype
reinforced by countless bling-filled hip-hop videos: that African Americans spend a lot on cars, clothes, and
jewelry — highly visible goods that tell the world the owner has money. But do they really?
Judge Orders Whites Out Of Atlanta Court.
Judge Marvin Arrington insists he's not a racist; despite ordering white lawyers out of his courtroom on Thursday.
The Fulton County Superior Court judge said he was just fed up seeing a parade of young black defendants in his
courtroom.
The judge said the majority of people who appear before him accused of crimes such as murder,
rape and robbery are black and he wanted to do something about it, one on one.
Georgia
Judge: Blacks-Only Talk Was Bad Idea. A black judge says he was wrong to evict whites from
his courtroom so he could deliver a stern lecture to black defendants, but says he meant no harm. "I
wanted to have a fireside chat," Fulton Superior Court Judge Marvin Arrington said Thursday. "And my
grandmother said years ago that if you're going to fuss at black people, you don't need to do it in front of
white people."
The Editor says...
I have no objection to the judge's actions, if they are effective in reducing crime and
convincing the defendants of the overall fairness of the judicial process. On the other
hand, the judge seems to have imposed his own flavor of racial segregation -- something that
has been opposed by black "leaders" for decades, unless it works to their advantage.
The
Democratic Party's Stealth War On Black Americans: Democrats cooked up the great society, welfare,
food stamps, and all other manner of government goodies because they said they wanted to "help" people.
What was the result of that "help?" The Democrats did something that they hadn't managed to do when they
enslaved black Americans, persecuted them with Jim Crow laws, or terrorized them with the Ku Klux Klan:
they managed to nearly destroy the black family.
The
enemies of Jim Crow. Many Americans know that it took strong government action in the 1950s
and 1960s to end Southern segregation. Far too few realize that it was government action that
established segregation in the first place. Today, when the power of the state is being aggrandized
as never before, the history of Jim Crow offers a cautionary reminder: When the political class
overrides the private sector, what ensues can be a national disgrace.
Liberal
Views, Black Victims. [Philadelphia and] other cities such as Baltimore, Detroit and Washington,
D.C., with large black populations, experience the nation's highest rates of murder and violent crime.
This high murder rate is, and has been, predominantly a black problem. According to Bureau of Justice
statistics, between 1976 and 2005, blacks, while 13 percent of the population, committed over 52 percent
of the nation's homicides and were 46 percent of the homicide victims. Ninety-four percent of black
homicide victims had a black person as their murderer.
Disputed
study: Detroit is the most dangerous city in the nation. In another blow
to the Motor City's tarnished image, Detroit pushed past St. Louis to become the nation's
most dangerous city, according to a private research group's controversial analysis, released
Sunday, of annual FBI crime statistics.
What is Black Conservatism? Respected
and well-informed nonwhite spokespersons are increasingly taking up the challenge of bringing conservative and
libertarian ideas to nonwhite audiences and bringing their own multicultural perspective to what has been a
largely white social and political movement. These spokespersons include Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell,
Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, and others.
Racism
is not the biggest problem that black Americans face any more. Of course, racism does still exist
and will always exist in one form or another. That being said, we've come a long way in this country from
the time when black Americans couldn't use the same water fountain as white people, had to sit at the back of
the bus, and weren't allowed to go to the same schools as whites. … On the other hand, the illegitimacy
rate in the black community is roughly 70% and black on black crime is more dangerous to black Americans than
the KKK ever was.
Misstep
in a Liberal Minefield: America has passed another milestone on its march to equal opportunity
thanks to Robert Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television, who this week proved that a black
billionaire can be just as witless as are certain white billionaires who think their wisdom is commensurate
with their net worth. Introducing Clinton at a rally, Johnson called Obama a "guy who says, 'I want to
be a reasonable, likable Sidney Poitier in 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.'" For the uninitiated, that is
how you call someone an Uncle Tom in an age that has not read "Uncle Tom's Cabin."
White
guilt doesn't help blacks. Among some black intellectuals a new perspective has emerged, one
that puts racism and "white privilege" low on the list of problems plaguing black Americans. Shelby
Steele's latest book, "White Guilt" argues that whites do blacks no favors wringing their hands about
white privilege.
Is
Oprah a Racist? Why carry water for Obama, but not Hillary Clinton or John
Edwards? From my vantage point, I can't see a scintilla of difference in their politics.
They're all left-wingers, after all, who believe that raising taxes is the solution to all problems.
The only difference I could see was the only difference that I could literally see — namely,
that Barack Obama was darker complexioned than the other two.
Frivolous
politics: Part III. Racial issues are just one of a growing number of issues where rational
discussion has become virtually impossible. Rational discussion would not serve the interests of the
Democratic Party, and the Republicans think that the way to increase their small share of the black vote
is to imitate the Democrats.
Tancredo: Abolish Black, Hispanic
Caucuses. White House hopeful Tom Tancredo said Thursday [1/25/2007] the existence of the
Congressional Black Caucus and other race-based groups of lawmakers amounts to segregation and should be
abolished. … "If we are serious about achieving the goal of a colorblind society, Congress should lead by
example and end these divisive, race-based caucuses," said Tancredo, who is scheduled to pitch his longshot
presidential bid this weekend in New Hampshire.
Census report sees
minorities becoming majority by 2042. In a new report out Thursday [8/14/2008], the U.S. Census
Bureau projects the nation will become much more diverse by midcentury, with minorities forecast to become the
majority population by 2042, experts said. The growing national diversity is also a trend seen locally,
particularly among Hispanics, experts said.
The Editor comments...
More diverse? The demographics are diverse whether the minority population is 4% or
40% — unless "diverse" is a just a politically
correct code word meaning
non-white, which is exactly the case.
The
Truth In Black and White: The term "black conservative" sounds like a strange twist of words to
the average American. There are certainly quite a few of them in America; they are not an endangered
species! In fact, I am one of them. Yet I am convinced that the simplistic moniker of liberal
vs. conservative is becoming outdated and meaningless.
Democrats and Apologies.
If Democrats are going to demand apologies for historic crimes, they need to inform themselves better about
their own party's history. The following racial crimes were perpetrated throughout American history by
The Democratic Party, its leaders and supporters
In particular:Sen. Robert Byrd
has admitted having been a member of the Ku Klux Klan and he filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights act supported
by Republicans in greater proportions than by Democrats;
Al Gore's father, Sen. Albert Gore Sr. also joined Sen. Byrd in the filibuster of the 1964 Civil Rights Act;
Sen. Ted Kennedy's father, Democrat Joseph Kennedy, the US Ambassador to Britain, was rabidly anti-Semitic and
considered by the Nazi Ambassador to be "Germany's best friend" in London.
What is
discrimination? Discrimination is simply the act of choice. When we choose Bordeaux wine,
we discriminate against Burgundy wine. When I married Mrs. Williams, I discriminated against other
women. Even though I occasionally think about equal opportunity, Mrs. Williams demands continued
discrimination.
FBI
called to deal with 'race' gang violence. Police in Los Angeles have been forced to call in the
FBI to deal with a surge in gang-related violence between Latino and black youths. The initiative has been
prompted by incidents such as the shooting of a 14-year-old black girl last month by Latino gang members, who
are thought to have targeted her because of her race.
[No mention of "hate crime" prosecution.]
Should blacks air dirty laundry
to a mainstream audience? Late last year, essayist John Ridley wrote an article for Esquire
magazine, using an in-your-face style to rip the black underclass. He went on to describe famous blacks
who've excelled in recent years — Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell — and argued that the
whole group benefited from their work. It's up to us, he wrote, to emulate their success.
Cultural
Whiplash: The contemporary question of "race" is a question dealing with the derailment of
philosophy (and the corresponding decline of morality and ethics) in the postmodern era. ... It
is "alienation" not between black and white, but rather between God and man. The
urban black community has, in far too many instances, replaced God with the state and correctly sees the
neo-Marxist Democrats as the state party, their ultimate benefactors. (One might also argue that suburban
whites have replaced God with materialism, but that's another essay.)
Man who cried
prejudice is arrested. A black man who claimed discrimination in a lawsuit against one of the
Las Vegas Valley's toniest golf clubs has surrendered to federal authorities in Los Angeles after being
indicted in an alleged $5 million investment scam. On Tuesday [1/9/2007] the U.S. attorney's office
called Steven M. Ferguson "an economic predator with no legitimate employment," charging him with
24 counts of fraud and money laundering after he allegedly fleeced investors of millions in investment
schemes across the country over the last decade. If convicted, Ferguson could be sentenced to as much
as 225 years in federal prison.
Black
Power: The New Conservative Stronghold. Black conservatives come in many sizes, shapes,
and party affiliations. The next two years are a perfect time for wise conservatives to build bridges
with the leaders of the "new black church". These church leaders are classical social conservatives.
They believe that government programs alone cannot stop crime, poverty, or poor schools. The new black
church is not waiting for a handout. They are promoting immediate change through wiser,
biblically-informed choices and personal accountability.
Race-card
player dishonors true victims. Your crass, manipulative use of the race-card-for-money insults
countless men and women who endured indignities, marched and died, in order to provide you the right to work
as a firefighter — an opportunity historically denied to qualified black men and women. You,
sir, are a disgrace.
Virginia Tech's Professor of Hate:
Many have asked: "How could the English Department not recognize the horrific implications of these works?"
No one who wonders that, however, is familiar with the poetic oeuvre of one of Cho's own teachers, Virginia Tech's
Distinguished Professor of English and Black Studies, Nikki Giovanni. Among the most celebrated figures of
the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s and recipient of 21 honorary degrees, Giovanni has published poems strikingly
similar to Cho's plays in both vileness and incompetence.
Is immigration bad for blacks? Perhaps the
most tragic American paradox of the last half century is that as the legal and social restrictions hindering
black economic advancement diminished and a sizable black middle class emerged, a large fraction of black men
dropped out of the workforce and/or went to prison. … About one quarter of black male high school dropouts
are locked up at any point in time. Was immigration's depressing effect on wages responsible for this
by dissuading less skilled blacks from honest labor?
Rap
is the culprit in killing of black men. Of Baltimore's nearly 300 homicide victims each year, the
overwhelming majority of victims and killers are young black men.
An
Open Letter to the Black Community. Both personal and institutional racism will ultimately have
to be overcome by black achievement. We have got to personally pay the price to be in positions of
authority that set the direction of the nation. We will have to save ourselves by fighting for personal
success that affects our community. In other words, if I am a businessman, I must understand that I have
both an economic mission and a cultural assignment to create good jobs, wealth, and influence.
Whites need not apply. It
is "critical" that the Congressional Black Caucus remain an all-black organization, one of the CBC's founders
has said in a strategy memo.
The Editor says...
If you changed "Black" to "White", there would be no question that we were talking about a racist
organization. It is an organization which restrict membership to people of a specific
race. This is exactly the kind of thing that the CBC's hero, Martin Luther King, opposed.
How the Voting Rights Act
promotes racial polarization: With Congress poised to extend, for another quarter-century,
certain "temporary" provisions of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, it's worth pondering some of the political
mischief taking place these days in the name of "voting rights."
By Any Means Necessary. A decision
Tuesday [8/29/2006] by a federal judge in Detroit could set the stage for a sweeping expansion of the Voting
Rights Act, which would turn the federal courts into a national campaign police.
Pandering to
blacks: Aside from [Senator John] Kerry being factually wrong about more blacks being in
prison than in college, his vision differs little from one that holds blacks as a rudderless, victimized
people who cannot control their destiny and whose best hope depends upon the benevolence of white people.
Martin Luther King's
Conservative Legacy: Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was no stalwart conservative, yet his
core beliefs, such as the power and necessity of faith-based association and self-government based on
absolute truth and moral law, are profoundly conservative. Modern liberalism rejects these ideas,
while conservatives place them at the center of their philosophy. Despite decades of its
appropriation by liberals, King's message was fundamentally conservative.
'Marriage
Is for White People'. I grew up in a time when two-parent families were still the norm, in
both black and white America. Then, as an adult, I saw divorce become more commonplace, then almost
a rite of passage. Today it would appear that many — particularly in the black
community — have dispensed with marriage altogether.
My new contribution to
educational racism. The UNC system has a different view of the relationship between guilty and
innocent blacks. We are reminded of that every time a black student commits a crime on campus. The
practice of publishing a photo of a guilty black student — or merely attaching the word "black" to
a suspect's description in student newspapers — is met with scorn within the educational
community. This is because we bend over backwards to avoid punishing innocent blacks for the
sins of guilty blacks.
"I pledge
allegience to my black people". One of the nation's fastest-rising poetry prodigies
is a 7-year-old New York girl whose poisonous demagogic advocacy of black separatism makes
Al Sharpton look like Mister Rogers. … Autum Ashante' is the natural offspring of militant
multiculturalism and government-sanctioned identity politics. We reap what we sow.
The
Myth Behind the Crisis in Black America. Two things caused the downward spiral of poor
blacks in Indianapolis and nationwide to the modern-day black underclass with which we are so familiar
today: (1) Adoption of a defiant anti-Establishment mentality as part of the countercultural
revolution of the 1960s, cloaked in what John McWhorter calls "therapeutic alienation," in which
righteous indignation against "the Man" for its own sake became praised by blacks and liberal
whites alike as a badge of black authenticity; and (2) the expansion of welfare from a temporary
assistance program for widows with children to a federal bureaucracy that basically subsidized
out-of-wedlock childbearing, personal irresponsibility and an aversion to work.
Black racism:
When we finally stop patronizing loafers, louts and criminals, stop encouraging people who were born 120 years
after the Emancipation Proclamation, 20 years after the passage of the Civil Rights Act, to pretend that
their sloth and ignorance are the fault of whites, only then will blacks come one step closer to having that
colorblind society they claim they want.
Workers claim racial
discrimination: Bias or shakedown? Twenty-two current and former employees have sued Ford
Motor Co., claiming the automaker allowed discrimination against black employees to fester unchecked in recent
years. … Tracing the lawsuits to their roots leads back, ironically perhaps, to a major push by Ford to
hire and promote minorities.
Black Activists Outraged Over
Liberal Merger of Abortion and Civil Rights. Inclusion of Planned Parenthood in a self-described
civil rights coalition has outraged members of the black leadership network Project 21, as Planned Parenthood
advocates and provides abortions -- particularly in the black community.
Abortions — Number, Rate,
and Ratio by Race, 1980 to 2003. Read the numbers for yourself. It is the
blacks who are suffering the most from abortion, yet most blacks continue to support the
pro-abortion Democratic Party.
Sen. Kennedy Bashed for
Illegal Aliens-Civil Rights Comparison. A black conservative minister and staunch
immigration reform advocate Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson Tuesday [4/11/2006] denounced Sen. Ted Kennedy for
comparing pro-illegal immigration rallies to civil rights marches for blacks half a century ago.
Black voters may
slip Democrats' grasp in 2006. This year, Democrats may lose their iron grip on the black
vote. About 90 percent of black Americans vote Democrat, rain or shine. But a growing
sense that Democrats take them for granted — plus several attractive, high-level black
Republican candidates who will fight for these votes — could make November 2006 and 2008
fascinating. For starters, President Bush's black support grew from 9 percent in 2000 to
11 percent in 2004.
Black History
Month — and the Black Heroes it Ignores. Malcolm X didn't mince
words. "I'm not an American!" he sputtered, "America is a nightmare! America practices
slavery! The white man is the common enemy!" Naturally, Time Magazine heralded him
during Black History Month.
Time to end Black
History Month? Obama's triumph, to some, means that we can all put other assumptions —
like the need for Black History Month — behind us. "I propose that, for the first time in
American history, this country has reached a point where we are can stop celebrating separately, stop learning
separately, stop being American separately," Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley wrote in a Feb. 1
column calling for an end to Black History Month.
Is Black History Month
already history? Well, it depends. Abraham Lincoln ... was born 200 years ago on Feb. 12.
A hundred years later the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the nation's oldest and largest civil
rights organization, was born on Lincoln's birthday. A century later we have our first biracial president. What
a country. Which raises a question I've pondered increasingly in recent years about the NAACP and Black History Month.
If they weren't around, would anyone notice? A lot of people ask, now that Americans of all colors have put an
African-American in the White House, how much more "advancement" do we need?
Poll: End Black History Month.
The overwhelming majority of respondents to a Moultrie Observer online poll think Black History Month should be
abolished. ... The poll was in response to an Associated Press story earlier this month that questioned whether
the month had outlived its usefulness, considering the election of an African-American to the presidency.
Belafonte, Farrakhan speak at

during the second day of the 2006 National Black Peoples Unity Convention in Gary.
Black Flight: Something
momentous is happening here in [Minneapolis] the home of prairie populism: black
flight. African-American families from the poorest neighborhoods are rapidly abandoning
the district public schools, going to charter schools, and taking advantage of open enrollment
at suburban public schools.
Gay
Unions Fracture Maryland's Black Caucus. Maryland's African American lawmakers are deeply
divided in the emerging debate over same-sex marriage, which forces them to balance their communities'
bedrock religious convictions against a traditional commitment to civil rights.
Editor's Note:
Same-sex marriage is not a civil rights issue. Homosexual activists call it a
civil rights issue to generate support for the idea, but that is a sham and a fraud.
Civil rights
today: Like the March of Dimes' victory against polio in the U.S., civil rights organizations
can claim victory as well. At one time, black Americans did not enjoy the same constitutional
guarantees as other Americans. Now we do. Because the civil rights struggle is over and
won doesn't mean that all problems have vanished within the black community. A 70 percent
illegitimacy rate, 65 percent of black children raised in female-headed households, high
crime rates and fraudulent education are devastating problems, but they're not civil
rights problems. Furthermore, their solutions do not lie in civil rights strategies.
The
paradox that divides black America. Perhaps nothing else so encapsulates the
endless paradoxes of being black in America. Never have blacks had so much legal freedom,
yet there are record numbers in jail. Traditional black neighborhoods have collapsed into
drug-ridden crime strongholds, even as the black middle class is the biggest in history.
The "D" stands
for demagogue. The freaks come out at night. The demagogues came out on Martin
Luther King Day. Democrat N.Y. Sen. Hillary Clinton, perhaps looking to distract attention
from those pesky Code Pink protesters who've been dogging her over the Iraq war, commemorated the
holiday by pulling a reverse Sister Souljah at race hustler Al Sharpton's pulpit in Harlem. …
When a Democrat politician stumps at a church, you see, it's "minority outreach." When a Republican
politician stumps at a church, it's a theocratic outrage.
Our
most destructive kind of racism. Paula Zahn devoted two of her hour-long CNN shows this week to
the topic "Skin Deep: Racism in America." After taking the time to watch, the question I walked away with
was: "What was the point?" In my view, the shows told us little that most of us don't already
know — strong racist sentiments exist in the country — and really never asked the deeper
and more important questions about what this means and why we should care.
Morgan Freeman
criticizes black history month. Black History Month has roots in historian
Carter G. Woodson's Negro History Week, which he designated in 1926 as the second
week in February to mark the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. Woodson
said he hoped the week could one day be eliminated — when black history would
become fundamental to American history.
Black
support for Bush drops to two percent. If only blacks knew of the true history
of the Democratic Party. "Black History Month" has been observed for 29 years, yet
many blacks know little to nothing about the parties' respective roles in advancing or hindering
the civil rights of blacks. How many blacks know that following the Civil War, 23
blacks — 13 of them ex-slaves — were elected to Congress, all as
Republicans? The first black Democrat was not elected to Congress until 1935, from
the state of Illinois. The first black congressional Democrat from a Southern state
was not elected until 1973.
Republicans and
blacks: Blacks have voted so overwhelmingly for Democrats for so long that Republicans have
few incentives to try to gain black votes — and little success when they do.
When Civil Rights Leaders Were
Civilized. An America where blacks run Merrill Lynch, American Express and the
State Department no longer needs civil-rights activism of the Rosa Parks and James Weldon
Johnson variety, and hasn't for decades. Thanks in large part to their diligence and
sacrifices, the battle for legal equality has been fought and won. Blacks still face
social and economic challenges, but these result mainly from self-inflicted cultural wounds,
not a manifestly unjust society.
Black
Teachers for Black Studies? A Philosophical Critique of Multiculturalist
Pedagogy. Multiculturalists maintain that there is no such thing
as truth, only diverse opinions, each "true" in the opinion of the person or group
that holds it, none true absolutely. The increasingly popular notion that
instead of simple, universal truth, there is only "white truth" and "black truth," "female
truth" and "male truth," "gay truth" and "straight truth," threatens the integrity of
American universities, which had been distinguished by their commitment to discovering
and disseminating truth without trimming it to suit special-interest groups.
Term
'Minority' Criticized As Outdated. The majority of residents in Texas, California,
New Mexico, Hawaii and Washington, D.C., are some ethnicity other than non-Hispanic whites,
according to Census Bureau population estimates released last week. Five other states,
including New York and Georgia, could make that shift by 2010.
U.S.
Blacks, if a Nation, Would Rank High on AIDS. Nearly 600,000 African-Americans are living with
H.I.V., the virus that causes AIDS, and up to 30,000 are becoming infected each year. When adjusted for
age, their death rate is two and a half times that of infected whites, the report said.
HIV epidemic
in U.S. worse than previously thought, CDC says. While the epidemic has remained stable for most of
this decade, the new figures confirm that the brunt of the epidemic is being borne by gay men and young African
Americans and Latinos. There have been small declines among heterosexuals and injectable-drug users. Gay
men accounted for 53% of new infections in 2006, the most recent year for which data are available. The
infection rate among blacks was seven times that among whites, and the rate among Latinos was nearly three
times as high.
Are racial
designations real, or just political? "Texas Becomes Newest 'Majority-Minority'
State, Census Bureau Announces." This was the headline of a recent U.S. Census Bureau
press release noting that Texas has now joined Hawaii, New Mexico and California as a state
whose "minority" population exceeds 50 percent of the state's population.
White children are now in the minority.
The youngest Anglo children in Hillsborough County and across Florida are now a minority, foreshadowing the day
when Florida — like four states now — becomes a majority-minority state.
Non-Hispanic whites in Florida accounted for fewer than half of all children younger than 5 last year,
according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates released today [8/15/2006].
Records said to dispute Tuskegee Airmen lore.
It has been part of the lore of America's first black fighter pilots since the end of World War II: The
Tuskegee Airmen never lost a bomber to enemy fire. But now, more than 60 years later, a leader of
the group says he has uncovered records proving the claim is not accurate.
Burned,
Baby, Burned: Watts and the Tragedy of Black America. The author argues
that the riots in Watts launched a new — and misguided — tactic of menacing
protest and rebellion for its own sake in the struggle for civil rights.
You Can't Talk
About That. All of us were still haunted by what we'd been watching on our
TV screens through Katrina Week: the spectacle of several thousand black Americans openly,
nakedly displaying their helpless, hopeless, clueless, angry dependency. It was there, it
was real, though we're stuffing it down the memory hole now as fast as we can work our fingers.
Is the
Concept of Race Illegitimate? Several noted social scientists have argued that race
is an illegitimate concept and can only foster racism and related evils. The everyday concept
of race is too crude to serve molecular biologists and government policymakers well, but does it
follow that race is a completely arbitrary and meaningless concept that necessarily impedes
justice and social harmony?
Michael Jackson dodged a
bullet. Black Harvard sociologist Orlando Patterson said, "The sociological truths are
that America, while still flawed in its race relations … is now the least racist white-majority
society in the world; has a better record of legal protection of minorities than any other society, white
or black; offers more opportunities to a greater number of black persons than any other society,
including all those of Africa…."

A Tale of Two
Cities: The welfare state detaches rewards from behavior. … People are encouraged
not to better themselves, but to think in terms of rights and entitlements. … The results are
catastrophic. Robberies and street crime – not to mention the unheard of before
shootings in broad daylight – have soared to an unprecedented level. Black gangsters
are modeling themselves on Jamaican Yardies battling other gangs for control of the lucrative cocaine
trade. No one has the guts to mention that the majority of violent criminals using guns and
knives are black.
Homicide trends in the U.S.: Charts
provided by the Bureau of Justice Statistics show that blacks were seven times more likely than whites to
commit homicide in 2002.
Mapping the Unmentionable: Race And
Crime. The government makes much detailed information on crime rates by race available. But
almost nobody ever tries to learn anything from it.
Milwaukee's
black leaders say the enemy is within. Black leaders in Milwaukee say their community is being
torn apart from the inside. Civil rights leaders like 57-year-old Prentice McKinney, who fought to free
Milwaukee's blacks from the ghetto, say gangs, drugs and violence have left those who still live in the
nation's urban cores in fear of the next generation.
Not black enough: Alternately,
students at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, are lifting up and lashing back at a recent guest speaker
invited by the school's College Republicans club. The group invited Vernon Robinson, a University of
North Carolina professor, to address students in honor of Black History Month.
Almost everything
designated a "civil rights" problem isn't. Does anyone really think
America suffers from an insufficiency of talk about race? What is in scarce
supply is talk about the meaning of the phrase "civil rights." Not every need is a
right, and if the adjective is a modifier that modifies, not every right is a civil
right — one central to participation in civic life.
Black
rednecks and white liberals: Teachers are not supposed to correct black
youngsters who speak "black English" and no one is supposed to be judgmental about the
whole lifestyle of black rednecks. In that culture, belligerence is considered
being manly and crudity is considered cool, while being civilized is regarded as "acting
white." These are devastating, self-imposed handicaps that prevent many young
ghetto blacks from getting a decent education or an opportunity to rise to higher levels.
A must
read: Thomas Sowell's new volume, "Black Rednecks and White Liberals," offers
a taste of some of his earlier work as well as a cornucopia of new insights. … The title
refers to the first essay, which argues that many of the traits commonly considered "authentically
black" are actually the inheritance of the white redneck culture amid which many blacks lived for
centuries. These include hair-trigger touchiness on the part of men, anti-intellectualism,
pride, sexual license, backwardness and laziness.
Reaction to Sowell's new book:
Who's a
redneck? Some whites in the South have reacted with resentment at the
thought that they are being stereotyped as rednecks while some blacks resent anything
that suggests anything negative about themselves.
Black
Racism at Work: For nearly half a century, predominately white America has
been trying to atone for past wrongs done to black people. However, nothing seems
to be enough. The more society adapts to their demands, the more the demands
increase. And, the demands have gone well beyond that which is justified.
Note: This
article is replete with quotations from vulgar, profane and obscene lyrics.
How Hip-Hop Holds
Blacks Back. Not long ago, I was having lunch in a KFC in Harlem, sitting
near eight African-American boys, aged about 14. Since 1) it was 1:30 on a
school day, 2) they were carrying book bags, and 3) they seemed to be in no hurry, I assumed
they were skipping school. They were extremely loud and unruly, tossing food at one
another and leaving it on the floor. Black people ran the restaurant and made up the
bulk of the customers, but it was hard to see much healthy "black community" here.
Memo to young black
men: Please grow up. Hip hop began as some sort of Afro protest doggerel and was very
quickly taken over by the gangster rappers, who emphasized the crudest materialism in which the ultimate
goal was money and it did not matter how one got it. The street thug, the gang member, the drug
dealer and the pimp became icons of sensibility and success.
Obama And The
Hip-Hop Problem: [Senator] Obama should take a look at a new report from the Parents Television Council
about three popular rap-music programs that air in the afternoon or early evening — "Sucker Free" on MTV and
"Rap City" and "106 & Park" on Black Entertainment Television for two weeks in December and a week in March. In 41
and a half hours studied, analysts found 282 uses of the N-word.
In those same hours, there were 143 uses of the
B-word to describe women.
The rap shows included 205 depictions or discussions of drug sale or use and other illegal
activity during the study period, for an average of 7.5 instances per hour, or roughly one instance every eight minutes.
Hip-hop
videos give the wrong lessons in social behavior. The X-rated rap lyrics are troubling enough.
In addition to that, the videos portray raw anger over seemingly minor disputes, violent hyper-masculinity and
shallow materialism. But even more crass are the roles assigned to young attractive women: They are
inevitably cast as mercenary trollops, eager and available for any thug-style pleasure.
Hip-hop's contribution to society? Words that
aren't fit to print. The other night, for example, clicking between the Twins and Cleveland and
hockey's Vancouver and Dallas I stumbled onto one of the cable network's comedy shows. By comedy show,
I mean one in the seemingly endless showcases of primarily young black male comics performing before
primarily a young black audience. … Without exaggeration, I would say that this guy used every offensive
word possible, to his race in general and to women specifically, in the 25 seconds I watched.
UPN's
wild hip-hop awards party. The awards began with the rapper called "The Game" winning
for "Hottest Hook" for a song called "Hate It Or Love It." The song has all the typical lyrics
about glorious gang-banging for big money and how he used to threaten to kill people over Nike
sneakers. When he won, he just had to declare from the stage that, "I want to thank God,
from whom all blessings flow." God must have been so pleased.
Say
no to hip-hop's excesses. If the civil rights establishment is looking for a new
crusade, it needs to summon the guts to ignore the billions that flow through the hip-hop
industry. At the close of 2004 all top-10 rap singles ranked by Billboard used
the "n" word in their uncensored versions. … Black rappers are wearing the chains
of volunteer slavery.
And the
cheat goes on. I am astounded by the naïvité of young people — black and
white — who actually buy the canned rebelliousness not just of rap music but of most
pop music. … It's all such an obvious con game. We hear so much about how kids today
are cynical, skeptical, media-savvy and so forth. But if they're buying this hooey, they're
idiots.
The Democratic party: Modern day
slave master. The Democratic Party, the liberal "mainstream" media and the rest of the
cultural elites are having a very hard time handling Dr. Rice's rise to
power. They've waged a disgraceful, racist and cowardly back-door assault
against her. Why? Little Ms. Condoleezza has wandered away from the
plantation. She refuses to slave in the cotton fields of "progressive" ideology.
The
gig is up for Berry. After nearly a quarter century of mischief-making
at the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Chairman Mary Frances Berry is on her way out
the door. Few government officials in the nation's history have managed to hold
on to power for so long or wielded it as autocratically and in pursuit of such radical
aims as has Dr. Berry.
Another
dictator toppled (here at home). Mary Frances Berry, chairman of the U.S.
Civil Rights Commission, is resigning. Those scratch marks on the floor may be
from her fingernails as they dragged her from the building by her feet. Berry has
been a member of the commission for 24 of its 47 years. ... Berry departs with
allegations of mismanagement swirling about her head. The commission is small
potatoes, Washington-wise, with a budget of only $9 million and a staff of
only 70. But no one knows how that money has been spent over the past
12 years, while Berry has presided with an iron hand.
Black
Clergy Denounces "Racial Motivated Attacks" on Condoleezza Rice. A
coalition of black clergy Friday [11/19/2004] denounced recent "racial motivated
attacks" by three editorial cartoonists, the Washington Post and the New York Times
upon National Security Adviser Dr. Condoleezza Rice, who was recently nominated by
President Bush to serve as the next secretary of state.
When liberals play the race
card: Look at the treatment of prominent black Republicans like National Security Adviser
Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of State Colin Powell. Liberal critics pull no punches in using race to
criticize them. Political cartoonists Pat Oliphant and Jeff Danziger drew political cartoons accentuating
Dr. Rice's black features and depict her speaking in rural Southern dialect. Garry Trudeau referred
to her as "Brown Sugar" in his comic strip, "Doonesbury."
Note: All the material about the Duke Lacrosse case has been
moved here.
Anti-intellectualism
among the academic elite. Jon Entine, in his book "Taboo: Why Black Athletes Dominate
Sports And Why We're Afraid to Talk About It" (1999), says, "All of the 32 finalists in the last
four Olympic men's 100-meter races are of West African descent." The probability of such an
outcome by chance is all but zero. The genetic physiological and biomechanical characteristics
that cause blacks to excel in some sports — basketball, football and track — spell
disaster for those who have aspirations to be Olympic-class swimmers. Entine says, "No African
American has ever qualified for the U.S. Olympic swim or dive team.
Bigotry and Sports:
Although not too many years ago, sports-writing was considered the "toy department" of journalism, the boys and
girls in the press box have been eager to catch up to their counterparts in the "real" world. And so, they
are also no longer content with merely reporting the scores, trades and what have you; they must now generate
the news. And, similar to the mainstream media, they need divisive issues in order to push the agenda of
all J-school graduates: to change the world.
Selling out black Americans:
"We, black Americans are being displaced in Los Angeles," [Terry] Anderson told an indifferent Congress.
"We are being systematically and economically replaced. And the next time somebody tells you that the
illegals only take jobs that blacks won't do, just remember that we were doing those jobs before the
illegals got here."
Why more blacks support
Bush this year. According to two polls released over the week just passed, President Bush
has picked up significant ground among black voters. A New York Times poll showed black support
for the president at 17 percent.
No Respect for Diversity
in News Coverage of Rice 9/11 Testimony. It's not unusual for folks to
wonder if there is a double standard in the news media. Usually, that question
has to do with ideology, a liberal or conservative bias perhaps. But the headlines
about Dr. Rice's testimony are not about ideology, but about diversity in
views. The press just can't seem to understand that a well-educated black woman
could hold the views Dr. Rice holds.
Any serious
discussion of race must address out-of-wedlock births. [Obama] did acknowledge that welfare
policies "may" have hurt black families. But he affirmed with certainty that "a lack of economic
opportunity among black men, and the shame and frustration that came from not being able to provide for one's
family, contributed to the erosion of black families." That's true. But it's also true that
African-American families were much more intact in the decades before the Civil Rights Act than they were
in the decades after it.
Same-sex
marriage and the disposal of fatherhood: Single motherhood is a predictor for
children at higher risk for teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, academic
underachievement, drug use and juvenile delinquency. Nowhere is this correlation more
strongly substantiated than in the African-American community — where 68 percent
of black children are born to unwed mothers and half of black males between
ages 18-35 are involved in America's criminal-justice system, according to a
study of urban youths in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.
Black men must reclaim our children.
As the mug shots of the alleged killers of NFL star Sean Taylor were shown on television, I kept wondering when
we were going to see their parents step forward. I saw a couple of mothers, but their dads were missing
in action. Dads matter, and it's ridiculous for us to act as if all it takes is a loving mom.
The Wisdom of Conservative Blacks:
Conservatism in America contends that by being self-reliant, getting an education, and holding dear the
importance of family values, all Americans should have the opportunity to achieve at least a comfortable
middle-class lifestyle. If you think about it, the idea of conservatism is nothing short of the "American
Dream." There are several voices within the conservative black community. They are not merely an
"echo" of each other, but individuals with an identity and a message in the spirit of Booker T.
Washington, Frederic Douglass, and Mary McLeod Bethune.
Why aren't
black voters rallying to Bush? At a time when one of the nation's primary
concerns is foreign affairs and terrorism, we have a black secretary of state and a black
national security adviser. Never have blacks held such top jobs in an
administration. Why then does The Washington Post/ABC poll done in May [2004] show
only 6 percent support among blacks for Bush?
HBO'S Anti-Whitewashed Fairy Tales: In
Jack and the Beanstalk, not only are all the players black but so even is a rabbit that jumps
out of a magician's hat. In Little Red Riding Hood (or "Happy Coat" in this China-based
tale) even the squirrels have almond-shaped eyes. That squirrels do not have the extra
fold that characterizes Asian eyelids is irrelevant. Even nature bows to the PC gods
at HBO. It seems only one major ethnic group has been left out. Of over
90 voices used in this series, just one appears to belong to a token white of
non-Hispanic descent.
Bob Kerrey clarifies the liberal
view of blacks and women: It is widely believed in universities and in the media that
conservatives are more likely than liberals to be racist and sexist. I have long believed that the
opposite is true, that most Democratic politicians and most liberal activists, at the very least, do not
regard black people as they do all others and, at worst, believe that blacks are inferior.
Liberal
damage to black America is enormous. One of the most dangerous myths in our
lifetime has been that liberalism and the Democratic Party are black America's best
friends. For all of us who desperately want African-Americans to prosper, the destruction
of this myth may be the single most important step to that end.
Real Racism: The
cultural Marxists are trying to get a fear of unfair criticism or name-calling to intimidate you and me into
failing to point out, speak out, and fight back against Political Correctness and those who are carrying
forward its destructive work. If you and I let them intimidate us, then we are helping to continue the
serious problems that all Americans, and especially black Americans, are suffering from today.
African-Americans and
Election 2000: In 1911, President Woodrow Wilson wisely observed: "A nation which does not
remember what it was yesterday, does not know what it is today, nor what it is trying to do. We are
trying to do a futile thing if we do not know where we came from or what we have been about." This is
still true today, especially concerning African-American history. (Also available in

George Washington, Thomas
Jefferson & Slavery in Virginia: It is ironic that two prominent Founding Fathers who owned
slaves (Thomas Jefferson and George Washington) were both early — albeit unsuccessful —
pioneers in the movement to end slavery in their State and in the nation.
Excellent!
Which political party supports your values?
Compare the basic principles and values of the two major political parties and decide for yourself.
Federal Museum Denies Slavery in
Africa Was "Dehumanizing": The Smithsonian's African American history museum states that although
instances of slavery can be found throughout human history, the practice did not become "dehumanizing" until
white Europeans came along and took slaves to the Americas. In other words, the Smithsonian claims that
black-on-black slavery, which continues to this day, isn't dehumanizing, but white-on-black slavery was.
The Earliest Civil Rights
Efforts: The passage of the 14th Amendment, much like the 13th Amendment, was also along partisan
lines. In the House, it passed 138 to 36. Of the 134 Republicans in the House,
128 (96%) voted to provide civil rights to former slaves; of the 36 Democrats, none (0%)
voted to give civil rights to African Americans; and of the 11 third-party representatives,
10 (91%) voted in favor of racial civil rights.
Black Pastor Compares Abortion to
Slavery, citing "racist" statements from the founder of Planned Parenthood. An estimated
1,452 African-American children are killed each day by the act of abortion. Between 1882 and 1968,
3,446 blacks were lynched in the United States — a number surpassed in less than three days
by abortion.
Abortion
is Causing "Black Genocide," Activists Say. During America's commemoration of Black History
Month, some pro-life activists are charging that legalized abortion has led to a "black genocide" of more
than 14 million unborn African-American babies. They condemn, in particular, the Planned Parenthood
Federation of America…
Race,
Law and Society: The United States Supreme Court's decision to review
Grutter v. Bollinger could have long-term consequences in how our society approaches
issues of race, affirmative action, quotas and diversity as we enter this new millennium.
"White
guilt" and affirmative action: At the University of Michigan, black,
Hispanic and Native American applicants to the college get 20 bonus points just for
the accident of their birth. A similar mechanism is in place for admission to the law
school, too.
The Balkanization of College Campuses: The
New York Civil Rights Commission has put out a report which surveyed 50 prominent colleges and universities,
[and] …shows these schools encouraging minority students to join ethnic organizations, to live in
racially separated dormitories, and to participate in race-based cultural activities. This is done
in the name of "cultural awareness," which provide "support systems."
Blacks
and Guns: African-Americans have a serious problem with guns. They
don't have enough of them. Despite being victimized by crime at several
times the rate of whites, only 30 percent of black adults own guns, compared
to 43 percent of whites.
Felons
call voting ban unfair to minorities. A lawsuit pending [in Seattle] and similar
cases across the country have asked the courts to overturn state laws that keep felons from
the ballot box, claiming the laws discriminate against minorities who make up a
disproportionate number of the nation's prisoners.
The Silence of the Liberals:
The reason for the silence stares us in the face. The gangsters themselves are largely black, and Minneapolis's
political culture is absorbed in a crusade against the reality that blacks are arrested and incarcerated in
numbers that substantially exceed their proportion in the general population.
Why are so many blacks in
prison? Between 1976 and 2005, blacks have been killing other people at a rate 6 to 9 times higher, every
year, than the comparable homicide rates for whites. Furthermore, these statistics are skewed in favor of blacks,
because the "white" category includes also Hispanics who identify themselves as whites but whose crime rates are far
higher than those of non-Hispanic whites.
The nobleness of black
conservatives: Have you ever considered what it would be like to be a black political
conservative in modern America? How many people are brave enough to endure the kind of vilification
and scorn they routinely encounter?
The making of a black
underclass: In a few short weeks, many thousands of black children will enter first grade in public schools
all over America where, inside of a year, many of them will become full-fledged reading failures and, thereby,
future members of the black underclass.
Republicans' New Con Job: The
"Containment Theory" Of Affirmative Action. Some Republicans have decided that affirmative action
is here to stay, so the best we can do is to contain it. That means limiting affirmative action to blacks
and American Indians. Containment is surrender. This ain'tthe Cold War; this is the war for the Constitution.
Colin Powell Jeered in Africa
for Treating Africans as Equals: Media reports on Secretary of State Colin Powell seem more determined
to find — or worse — create an aura of controversy between the Bush Administration and
Secretary of State Colin Powell than they are to actually REPORT what Powell is saying.
Black journalists jeer
peer: A conservative activist says that he was booed, jeered and called "the white man's boy"
by a crowd of nearly 300 black reporters and media figures for speaking against reparations at last week's
annual convention of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Black History Month vs. Condoleezza Rice:
A friend of mine from Arkansas writes the
following: "Thought you'd appreciate this little anecdote. A co-worker of mine has a daughter in
public elementary school, here in Pine Bluff. They're still doing Black History Month stuff, apparently,
because the kids were told to come to class dressed as a famous (and presumably accomplished) African-American.
My co-worker's kid was told to come as Tina Turner. My co-worker informed the teacher that her child would come
as Condoleezza Rice instead. The teacher refused to allow it, on grounds that Rice 'is for white people.'
Nice, huh?"
Don't Believe the Hype – You
Can Embrace Conservatism: "Black America has a challenge. Despite steady improvement in
our quality of life, much remains to be done. To speed improvement, liberal domination of our politics
must come to a screeching halt. We must pull the brakes and return black America to our conservative
roots."
Issues & Views: The hard copy edition of this
newsletter was founded in 1985 by black Americans who advocate self-help and business enterprise and the
protection of constitutional rights. It is a forum for dissidents, conservatives, and plain old
mavericks — all those who are concerned about cultural decline and the erosion of our constitutional
liberties.
Kill the white
man? Writing in the current edition of Harvard Magazine, Noel Ignatiev, a Harvard fellow and
Marxist activist, argues that "abolishing the white race" (give or take a few murders, of course) "is
desirable" because it would rectify the overt discrimination of the past.
Stereotypes About Stereotypes: Statistical
disparities among groups are routinely equated with discrimination, as if there could not possibly be any
differences in behavior or performance among the groups themselves.
Debating The Unmentionable: The Black-White IQ
Gap: The racial gap in average IQ is one of the most important factors in modern American
life. We can tell how important it is because we aren't allowed to talk about it. The IQ gap is
rather like the dog that didn't bark in the Sherlock Holmes story, palpable by its absence. Raising
black IQ was an explicit goal of Great Society programs such as Head Start … [But] When the 1960s-1970s
burst of spending failed to deliver quick results, however, the topic was slowly driven out of polite society.
James D. Watson: Broken by the
PC Inquisition, Betrayed by the Righteous Right. James D. Watson, perhaps
the most distinguished living American scientist, has now been kicked to the curb by the Cold
Spring Harbor genetics laboratory he rescued and rebuilt over the last 40 years for
making politically (but not scientifically) incorrect statements about African IQs.
Race and IQ: Only
the repeated renorming of IQ tests upward created the illusion that blacks had made no progress, but were
stuck at an IQ of 85. But we would never have known this if some researchers had not defied the
taboo on studying race and IQ imposed by black "leaders" and white "friends."
Race and IQ: part
II: According to Professor John McWhorter, a black faculty member at the University of
California at Berkeley, anti-intellectualism in the black culture keeps many black youngsters from
doing their best.
Race and IQ:
Part III: I happened to run into Charles Murray in Dulles International Airport while he and
Richard Herrnstein were writing "The Bell Curve." When I asked him what he was working on and he
summarized what he was writing, he could tell that I was concerned about him, so I told him why:
"Charles, no matter what you say, people will hear what they want to hear."
The Lie Is Winning: Scapegoating
Lino Graglia. Even when all the groups have had the same access to education, not all have seized
the opportunity to the same degree or put the same effort into it. No one with the slightest regard for
facts can deny that this is true in the United States today. Even black and white liberals have expressed
dismay that black children who try to do well in school are denounced by their peers for "acting white."
Black
Education: At Baltimore's predominantly black Frederick Douglass High School
students
are four to five years below grade level. Most of its ninth-graders read at the third-, fourth- or
fifth-grade levels. In 2006, only 24 percent of its students tested proficient in reading, in
math just 11 percent, and that's an improvement over previous years. Only one student managed
to score above 1,000 on the SAT and another student scored 440 out of 1,600. You get 400 points
for just writing in your name. Out of its 1,100 students, 200 to 300 are absent each day.
States Help Schools Hide
Minority Scores. States are helping public schools escape potential penalties by skirting the No
Child Left Behind law's requirement that students of all races must show annual academic progress. With
the federal government's permission, schools aren't counting the test scores of nearly two million students
when they report progress by racial groups, an Associated Press computer analysis found.
Prosperity's Critical
Ingredients: African leaders are quick to blame the legacy of colonialism for their
troubles. I'll never make an argument for colonialism, but the fact is the average African was
better off under colonialism than he has ever been under independence.
Dr.
King, Roe v. Wade and Margaret Sanger: Planned Parenthood founder Margaret
Sanger formed the organization to implement the eugenic ideology that prevailed in the
early 20th century. The eugenicists with whom she aligned herself espoused belief,
as Sanger put it, in the "supremacy" and "purity" of certain races of people, notably the
Aryan race. They believed the "fit" should be encouraged to reproduce, while the
"unfit" should constrain their numbers. The "unfit" were the poor, racial minorities
and certain groups of immigrants, and the physically and mentally handicapped. They
sought to accomplish this through sterilization, birth control and, eventually, abortion.
The
Negro Project: Margaret Sanger's Eugenic Plan for Black Americans. The
disproportionately high number of abortions in the black community is no accident. Many
Americans — black and white — are unaware of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret
Sanger's Negro Project. Sanger created this program in 1939, after the organization
changed its name from the American Birth Control League to the Birth Control Federation of
America. The aim of the program was to restrict — many believe
exterminate — the black population.
Clinton
Library Woos Blacks After Destruction of Slave Landmark: Despite the demolition of an
African-American landmark on the grounds of Bill Clinton's future presidential library, library officials
are now openly wooing black tourists and businesses.
Inter-Racial
Crime: The Dirty Little Secret.
Making
the case: The lawlessness of today's racial quota and gun control
liberals may be coming under serious challenge.
"I Hit This White Man" Giggler
Charged With Murder: A motorist who allegedly hit a homeless man and left him impaled in her
windshield until he died — and who later laughed about her actions — was indicted for murder
[4/25/2002]. There was no explanation why she was not charged with a "hate crime."
Update:
Motorist Guilty in Windshield
Murder: A fact that many media are refusing to report about the case: Mallard, who is
black, giggled as she told friends several months later, "I hit this white man." She has never, however,
been charged with a "hate crime."
A few words about the Black Panthers
SPLiCing the Facts. The left-wing
Southern Poverty Law Center's "hate groups map" lists conservative organizations such as the DC-based
Traditional Values Coalition and Catholic Family Ministries, Inc. as hate groups alongside Ku Klux Klan
chapters and the New Black Panther Party.
New Panthers' war on whites:
Minister King Samir Shabazz is chairman of the New Black Panther Party's Philadelphia chapter. In black
beret atop dreadlocks and a black military uniform, he spends most weekdays near City Hall condemning "crackers"
and exhorting black passers-by to rise up against their "slavemasters" — and to give him $2 for the
party's semi-annual newspaper.
Democrats: It's
OK When We Politicize the Justice Department. The "politicization" of the Justice Department was
one of many aspects of the Bush administration which the Obama administration was going to cure. But it appears
that while the party of the administration has changed, we are seeing a level of political meddling at the Justice
Department which the Bush administration never remotely approached. First, we had word that Eric Holder overruled
the career attorney lawyers' research on the issue of voting rights for the District of Columbia. Now we learn that
political appointees have overturned the work of career attorneys attempting to prevent voter intimidation by the New
Black Panther Party.
Who pressured Justice to drop
case against voter intimidation in Philly? After screaming for 8 years about Bush "politicizing" the Justice
Department, it appears that there is a clear cut case of interference in a legitimate prosecution of the New Black Panther
Party for intimidating voters at a polling station in 2008 by Obama appointees.
Charges
Against 'New Black Panthers' Dropped by Obama Justice Dept.. Charges brought against three
members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense under the Bush administration have been dropped by the
Obama Justice Department, FOX News has learned. The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia
polling place on Election Day 2008 when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters
and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force — one even brandishing what prosecutors
call a deadly weapon.
Protecting Black Panthers.
Imagine if Ku Klux Klan members had stood menacingly in military uniforms, with nightsticks, in front of a
polling place. Add to it that they had hurled racial threats and insults at voters who tried to enter.
Now suppose that the government, backed by a nationally televised video of the event, had won a court case
against the Klansmen except for the perfunctory filing of a single, simple document — but that an incoming
Republican administration had moved to voluntarily dismiss the already-won case. Surely that would
have been front-page news, with a number of firings at the Justice Department. The flip side of
this scenario is occurring right now.
Civil Rights: Who are the "Cowards"? On
taking office as Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder stated that America is a nation of "cowards"
when it comes to race and that he would commit the Department of Justice to making civil rights cases a top
priority. President Obama himself promised to "reinvigorate federal civil rights enforcement," especially by
prosecuting cases of voting discrimination against blacks. On May 15 Obama's Department of Justice
quashed a civil rights case involving voter intimidation by blacks in Philadelphia on election day, 2008.
The U.S. Department of
Injustice. Let's examine the uproar over Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to protect hate-mongering thugs
who harassed and bullied precinct workers and voters on Election Day in Philadelphia. Oh, wait. There's been no
uproar. Let me tell you why.
Holder Winks at Voter Intimidation.
When Eric Holder became U.S. attorney general, he promised to administer the law in an objective, nonpolitical
manner. So it's disappointing that the Justice Department had spent the last several months misinterpreting
key voting rights laws for nakedly political reasons. Exhibit A: Justice's inexplicable
dismissal of a civil lawsuit for voter intimidation against the New Black Panther Party. The Black
Panthers weren't content to endorse Barack Obama. They sent their members to the polls last November
to "patrol election sites."
U.S. Commission on Civil Rights
Demands Answers. The Obama Justice Department took the unusual action last month of dismissing
a default judgment against the New Black Panther Party in connection with a case of voter intimidation on
Election Day on November 4, 2008. Members of the NBPP were caught on film blocking access to the
polls and physically and verbally intimidating voters, even going so far as to wield a nightstick in front
of voters and poll watchers. The Justice Department's lawyers gathered evidence, obtained the affidavit
of former civil rights advocate Bartle Bull, and filed a complaint. When the defendants did not respond
and the court invited the Justice Department to file a default judgment, the case was inexplicably withdrawn.
Why Did Justice Drop New Black Panthers' Case?
Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) is waiting for an answer to his June 8 letter to Attorney General Holder.
And he may wait a good while longer because the Justice Department doesn't want to explain its decision to
dismiss its civil case — the worst case of voter intimidation in many years — and
not pursue a criminal indictment.
Flack Panthers. For some
reason, the Justice Department is covering for the Black Panthers. For months, congressmen have asked the
Justice Department a simple question: How could the department drop one of the worst voter-intimidation cases
ever? The department's only explanation was revealed in its dismissal filing with the court; the case was
dropped because the defendants, two members of the New Black Panthers, offered no defense. This is
unsatisfactory grounds for such a serious civil rights abuse.
Return of the Black Panther.
Rarely does the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights vote unanimously on anything. A partisan divide has made the
commission contentious in recent years. Yet the Department of Justice's decision to forfeit its voter-intimidation
case against the New Black Panther Party and three individual defendants drew a 6-0 vote with one abstention by the
commission. What unified the commission was outrage at the Justice Department for letting the Black Panthers
off the hook.
GOP,
Holder battle over New Black Panthers. Key House Republicans are charging Attorney General
Eric Holder of playing politics at the Justice Department. Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) said Holder has
ignored at least three letters sent over the past month from Republicans demanding to know why Justice
dismissed charges of voter intimidation filed against two members of the "New Black Panther Party
for Self-Defense".
No. 3
at Justice OK'd Panther reversal. Associate Attorney General Thomas J. Perrelli, the No. 3
official in the Obama Justice Department, was consulted and ultimately approved a decision in May to reverse
course and drop a civil complaint accusing three members of the New Black Panther Party of intimidating voters
in Philadelphia during November's election, according to interviews.
Lawmakers
want answers, seek refiling in Panther case. Congressional Republicans on Thursday [7/30/2009]
escalated their criticism of the Justice Department for dismissing a controversial voter-intimidation case,
demanding that civil charges against the New Black Panther Party be restored. They also renewed their
request to interview career attorneys who disagreed with the administration's decision to dismiss the charges.
Obama Justice
Official Nixed Black Panther Prosecution. In a past national election, a uniformed hate group
stood outside a polling place with a two-foot-long police nightstick in hand, screaming racial epithets and
threats in a successful effort to prevent citizens from voting and poll watchers from doing their jobs.
The Department of Justice investigated, the career counsel approved the institution of a civil complaint, and
one was brought. The defendants offered up no defense. They failed even to appear in court.
The federal district court judge entered default judgments against the defendants. Later he ordered the
Justice Department to file motions for the entry of default judgments, formally acknowledging they had won.
At this time, over the objections of career counsel, Associate Attorney General Thomas J. Perrelli
ordered the case dropped.
Hack Panthers. The
Justice Department's decision to drop an already-won voter-intimidation case against members of the New Black
Panther Party merits multiple, independent investigations. On Tuesday [7/28/2009], Rep. Frank R. Wolf,
Virginia Republican, officially asked Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to refile the case. Mr. Holder
should comply. So far, the Justice Department has stonewalled legitimate inquiry.
Eric Holder's Hate Crime Color
Scheme. The DOJ Web site states: "If you know of activities that intimidate, coerce, threaten, or
oppress voters based on race, color, religion, or national origin, please contact the Criminal Section." Holder
needs to explain why its "Criminal Section" isn't prosecuting the Panthers on felony charges of violating
18 U.S.C. § 245.
Eric Holder's Justice
Department. [It is] surprising that in the first seven months of the Obama administration, a series
of hyper-partisan decisions, questionable appointments, and the inexplicable dismissal of a high-profile voter
intimidation case against the New Black Panther party have once again fanned suspicions that the Justice Department
is a pawn in partisan political battles. Both in Congress and among a number of current and former Justice
Department employees is a growing concern that the Obama administration is politicizing the department in ways the
Bush team never imagined.
Panel blasts Panther case
dismissal. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is demanding that the Justice Department explain why it
recently dismissed a civil complaint against members of the New Black Panther Party who disrupted a Philadelphia polling
place during last year's election, saying the department has offered only "weak justifications."
'Non-responsive'
Justice Department pressed again on Panthers case. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights on Friday [8/7/2009]
demanded for the second time that the Justice Department explain its dismissal of charges against members of the New Black
Panther Party who disrupted a Philadelphia polling place during the November elections, saying a previous response was
"largely non-responsive" and "paints the department in a poor light."
Justice
Dept. pressed to explain Panthers dropped charges. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is expected to
approve Friday the sending of a second letter to the Justice Department, asking it to justify its decision in May to
drop charges against members of the New Black Panther Party accused of intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling
place in the November election.
Black Panther case
expands. Even if the liberal media continue to ignore it, the Justice Department's dismissal
of a voter-intimidation case against members of the New Black Panther Party is a full-blown scandal.
Fortunately, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is pursuing justice even though the Department of Justice
is not.
Black Panther Case Draws
Scrutiny. The inexplicable dismissal by the Obama Justice Department of the default judgment
in a case of egregious voter intimidation at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 has unleashed
a torrent of questions about why the case was dropped against all but one defendant (the individual actually
wielding a nightstick got off with a proverbial slap on the hand) and who made the decision to drop it.
The Justice Department has stonewalled, claiming career attorneys made the call.
Intimidate
the CIA, leave Black Panthers alone? [Scroll down] More importantly, consider Justice's treatment
of jackboot-wearing members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense — Malik Zulu Shabazz, Jerry Jackson
and Minister King Samir Shabazz (who brandished a billy club) — who were caught on tape intimidating voters
at a Philadelphia polling place in November. The hostile and racist intentions of the Black Panther
organization are well-known. Jackson, who is also an elected official in Pennsylvania's Democratic
Party, listed "Killin' Crakkkas" among his interests on his MySpace page, which was extensively edited
only after reporters began looking into his background.
Holder's Black
Panther Stonewall. President Obama's Justice Department continues to stonewall inquiries about
why it dropped a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party. The episode —
which Bartle Bull, a former civil rights lawyer and publisher of the left-wing Village Voice, calls "the most
blatant form of voter intimidation I've ever seen" — began on Election Day 2008. Mr. Bull
and others witnessed two Black Panthers in paramilitary garb at a polling place near downtown Philadelphia.
Another
Promise Broken — in Record Time. Remember those days of yore, namely the presidential campaign
of 2008, when Democrats regularly accused the Bush administration of politicizing the Justice Department? You
could scarcely make your way down the aisle of the U.S. Senate without encountering a Democrat who was outraged,
indignant and generally all het up over how the administration of justice had been corrupted.
Video: Obama Lets Black Panthers Intimidate Voters.
Civil Rights Commission
Demands Voter Intimidation Answers. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights sent a letter in August to Attorney
General Eric Holder, issuing a stinging rebuke to the Obama administration's Department of Justice (DOJ). A footnote
in the letter criticized the DOJ's dismissal of a Philadelphia voter intimidation case against a group called the New Black
Panther Party for Self-Defense (NBP). The footnote called the DOJ's voluntary dismissal of the case "even more
corrosive to the rule of law than the dismissal without comment."
Inquiry
opened into New Black Panther case. The Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility
has begun an official inquiry into the dismissal in May of a civil complaint against the New Black Panther Party
and two of its members who disrupted a Philadelphia polling place during the November general elections.
Race to injustice.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. should answer one key question — Will the Justice
Department fight against civil rights violations of white people as avidly as those against people of color?
This is the subtext of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission's investigation into why the Justice Department dropped
an already-won voter-intimidation case against agents of the New Black Panther Party.
Obama Justice
Department still stonewalling Civil Rights Commission. What do you do if you're the Obama
administration and you've been caught playing politics with the law? You stonewall the matter until
people get tired of trying to get to the bottom of your malfeasance and go away. This seems to be the
tactics being used by Obama's Justice Department as they continue to play games with requests from the US
Commission on Civil Rights who want answers to questions regarding the dropping of the New Black Panther
party's voter intimidation case.
Holder
asked to quicken probe of Black Panther case. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights asked Attorney
General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Wednesday [9/30/2009] to name a Justice Department official to oversee the
production of what it called "our overdue information requests" for documents in the dismissal of a civil
complaint against New Black Panther Party members accused of disrupting a polling place in the November
elections.
Panther injustice
continues. The U.S. Civil Rights Commission is not backing off its showdown with the Justice
Department about mishandling the voter-intimidation case involving agents of the New Black Panther Party.
Nor should it. Yesterday [9/30/2009], the commission sent a letter to Attorney General Eric H.
Holder Jr. demanding that Justice "fully cooperate," according to specific legal authority vested in the
commission, with the commission's inquiry about why Justice dropped the case after it had already been won.
Black Panther
Answers 'Overdue'. The Chairman of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, Gerald A. Reynolds,
has sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder seeking answers to their questions about a voter
intimidation case in Philadelphia involving the New Black Panther Party (NBPP). It considers the
responses "overdue." The letter, dated September 30, 2009, is seemingly an unprecedented action.
It asks for Mr. Holder to "instruct Department officials to fully cooperate" with the Commission's
investigation, as required by federal law.
Subpoenaed Black
Panthers. Could the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights actually subpoena U.S. Attorney General
Eric H. Holder Jr.? That scenario is unlikely, but it suddenly has entered the realm of possibility.
The Civil Rights Commission is making a full inquiry into a controversy about a voter-intimidation case against
the New Black Panther Party and several of its members and has escalated its investigation.
The Department of Kwanzaa:
The Truth about Kwanzaa. Blacks in
America have suffered an endless series of insults and degradations, the latest of which goes by the name of
Kwanzaa. ... There is no part of Kwanzaa that is not fraudulent.
"Kwanzaa" was invented by a black
criminal in California: Kwanzaa is increasingly seen as an appropriate multicultural
alternative to Christmas, a holiday considered too religious and "Eurocentric" for public schools. But
there is one not-so-insignificant problem associated with Kwanzaa. While many teachers believe it to be
an ancient African harvest festival, it was actually born, not in pre-colonial West Africa, but in 1960s
southern California. It is, in fact, the brainchild of African-American radical activist, academic
and convicted felon Ron Karenga.
Kwanzaa
Created by a Rapist and Torturer? Each year, with the onset of Christmas, we are treated to another
gauzy, fluff piece about how great Kwanzaa is by yet another PC spewing newspaper columnist. ... Several years ago,
the Houston Chronicle got in the act with a piece by Leslie Casimir titled "Learning about Kwanzaa from the holiday's
creator." ... Instead of merely celebrating this manufactured holiday Casimir amazingly made a hero of the rapist,
race monger and violent thug who created it!
The Trouble With Kwanzaa: Looking back on it, wearing kente
cloth and knowing words in Swahili didn't make me any more authentically African than I already am. For me, it all
amounted to a superficial connection to Africa that, in its thinness, ultimately degraded the depth of black culture and
our ancestry.
Kwanzaa: The Scientology of Holidays.
What do you get when you take a bad science fiction writer with a desire for immortality and add a lust for tax
breaks? Scientology. What do you get when you take a neo-marxist felon and add a desire for black
nationalism? Kwanzaa. What do both Kwanzaa and Scientology have in common? They are
fraudulent products of post-modern culture given legitimacy by a press hell bent on diminishing the
Judeo-Christian heritage in the United States.
My Triumph Over Kwanzaa! Is it just
me, or does Kwanzaa seem to come earlier and earlier each year? This year, I believe my triumph over
this synthetic holiday is nearly complete. The only mentions of Kwanzaa I've seen are humorous ones.
Most important, for the first time in eight years, President George Bush appears not to have issued "Kwanzaa
greetings" to honor this phony non-Christian holiday that is younger than I am.
Kwanzaa was born of separatism and radicalism
A lump of coal for Kwanzaa. As some
know, this High Holy Week saw its birth 482 moons in the distant past, which means about forty years ago.
It was founded by the Great Prophet, Maulana Karenga, who was born in the cradle of religion itself, Maryland.
Like many deeply spiritual men, Karenga came from humble origins, christened Ron N. Everett and raised on
a poultry farm.
Fleecing the flock:
Kwanzaa not only has no roots in Africa, it is not celebrated anywhere in Africa. It is a complete
fabrication from the mind of [Ron N.] Everett. Everett said, "I came up with Kwanzaa because black
people in this country wouldn't celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around
Christmas because I knew that's when a lot of bloods would be partying."
The Kwanzaa Hoax: [Maulana]
Karenga — known chiefly as the inventor of Kwanzaa, a fake "African" holiday that he contrived in
1966 — has enjoyed a truly colorful career. He was a prominent black nationalist during the
1960s, when his organization was involved in various violent operations. He was sent to prison
in 1971, after he and some of his pals tortured two women with a soldering iron and a vise, among other
things. He emerged from prison in 1974, and a few years later — in a maneuver that even
The Kingfish might have found difficult — he got himself installed as the chairman of the Department
of Black Studies at California State University at Long Beach.
Happy
Kwanzaa. On December 24, 1971, the New York Times ran one of the first of many articles
on a new holiday designed to foster unity among African Americans. The holiday, called Kwanzaa, was
applauded by a certain sixteen-year-old minister who explained that the feast would perform the valuable
service of "de-whitizing" Christmas. The minister was a nobody at the time but he would later go on to
become perhaps the premier race-baiter of the twentieth century. His name was Al Sharpton and he would
later spawn the Tawana Brawley hoax and then incite anti-Jewish tensions in a 1995 incident that ended with
the arson deaths of seven people.
Another View of Ron Karenga: It seems
the founder of Kwanzaa wasn't any more ethical than those who sung its praises. In fact, at the same
time Al Sharpton was glorifying the new holiday, its creator was sitting in a California prison for torturing
two black women who were members of the United Slaves, a black nationalist cult he had founded. The cult
leader Ron N. Everett went by the name Karenga and in the 60's took upon himself the title "maulana,"
which means "master teacher" in Swahili. He was born on a poultry farm in Maryland, the fourteenth
child of a Baptist minister.
Kwanzaa is for Pagans. For decades, the
media have given credence to many a self-appointed black "leader", no matter how outrageous. Now they're
doing the same with a pagan ritual called Kwanzaa, a so-called African-American holiday. A made-up,
anti-Christian observance, Kwanzaa is celebrated by blacks who profess Christ. In our politically correct
climate, even President George Bush, a believer in Christ, feels obligated to praise this ritual.
Kwanzaa: a Christmas Substitute? In
spite of it being declared a non-religious holiday, Kwanzaa is being accepted in our children's schools,
stores and etc., alongside the religious celebrations of Christmas and Hanukkah, sometimes leaving Christmas
out altogether. And for many in the Black church, Jesus Christ and the principles found in the Bible
are not enough. People are being urged to practice daily the seven principles of Kwanzaa (the Nguzo Saba)
to better one's self and to seek intercession on the behalf of dead ancestors (ancestor worship).
Kwanzaa and the Church:
Karenga's official Kwanzaa website ... [says] "you should not mix Kwanzaa holiday or its symbols, values, and
practices with any other culture." That's in part because Kwanzaa was established as an alternative to
Christmas which was viewed as a western holiday. Christian worship would seem to violate the intent of
Kwanzaa's promoters. But if public schools and civic ceremonies are any indication, Kwanzaa is gaining
equal standing as a third holiday alongside Christmas and Hanukah. And most folks have no idea it is not
an ancient African ritual, but rather the invention of a sixties activist.
Another Viewpoint: Kwanzaa is in
reality a non-Christian religious ceremony. It is expressly promoted as not being religious but its
Seven Principles are taken from directly Everett's personal religious philosophy, which he calls Kawaida
(based on Ma'at, an ancient Egyptian mystic religion that Everett, the son of a Baptist minister, left the
church to adopt as a young man). Also, its key rituals and artifacts are modeled after non-Christian
religious practices and ceremonies. Scripture does not allow the Christian to participate in such.
Kwanzaa was
invented in 1966 amidst the madness of the multicultural '60s by a black radical stooge of the FBI,
Ron Karenga, a.k.a. Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of United Slaves, a violent
nationalist rival to the Black Panthers and a dupe of the FBI.
The "Merry Christmas!"
Not "Happy Kwanzaa!" Campaign. is designed to educate the American public
about the phony "African-American" holiday known as Kwanzaa and to encourage the celebration
of Christmas. We want the public to know that Kwanzaa was designed to further
separate Blacks from identifying with America.
The Truth About Kwanzaa: Should
Christians Celebrate It – Should Anyone Celebrate It?
Kwanzaa: A Holiday
From the FBI. I believe more African-Americans spent this season reflecting on the birth of
Christ than some phony non-Christian holiday invented a few decades ago by an FBI stooge. Kwanzaa
is a holiday for white liberals, not blacks.
Kwanzaa U. Almost
nobody in Africa has ever heard of Kwanzaa. It is not an African holiday, and
at best is a highly obscure Afro-American holiday. The only education or experience
children receive in regard to this "holiday" is through the education system, not
from centuries – or even decades – of family tradition.
Just
Say "No" to Kwanzaa. Blacks should be outraged by attempts to stamp out Christianity
from Christmas celebrations while accepting Kwanzaa as mainstream, says a black minister. Rev.
Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of BOND, Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny, notes
that while public school administrators and city officials attempt to ban nativity scenes, Christmas
carols, candy canes and even Christmas trees from public places, Kwanzaa has been accepted
as mainstream.
Kwanzaa — Racist
Holiday from Hell. In an earlier time, blacks held a strong faith in God. But over
the past 40 years, the black community has largely let God slip away. Sure the community has
maintained the outer trappings of religion, but the solid morality at its core is nearly gone. Enter
a God-hating black racist named Ron Karenga. Born Ron Everett on a poultry farm in Maryland, Everett
invented Kwanzaa in 1966, based on an African harvest festival (though it takes place during the Winter
Solstice!), and celebrating the first Kwanzaa with his family and friends.
Kwanzaa, The
Fraudulent Holiday, Take 2. Kwanzaa isn't traditional at all. It was
invented in the late 1960s by convicted felon Ron Everett, leader of a so-called black
nationalist group called United Slaves. I use the word "so-called" because United
Slaves' veneer of black nationalism was very thin; most of its members had been
members of a South Central Los Angeles street gang called the Gladiators.
The
True Spirit of Kwanzaa: Kwanzaa is a product of violent black separatism,
and it was designed to foment insularity and a sense of racial grievance.
Did you have a happy
Kwanzaa? There are few holidays we can actually attribute to one man's vision. Kwanzaa is
such a holiday — coined by Ron Karenga in 1966.
The Strange Phenomenon of Black
Anti-Semitism: Anti-Semitism in America, according to a survey commissioned by the
Anti-Defamation League, stands at an all-time low. But alarmingly, the survey found blacks three to
four times more likely than non-blacks to be anti-Semitic. Given the tremendous historical Jewish support
for blacks, this insensitivity toward Jews and Israel suggests ignorance and lack of gratitude.
White Guilt = Black
Power: There should be many more imbroglios like the one currently playing out at Harvard
University, enough for America to finally understand that white guilt is exactly the same thing as black
power. But it is testament to the daunting power of white guilt that confrontations like this one
happen so rarely.
Of Human Bondage: 21st Century
Slavery: Every year, at least 700,000 human beings are traded for profit like so much
property. In his battle against this international human trafficking, Chris Smith — a Republican
congressman from New Jersey — has undertaken retail rescue operations as well as wholesale
policy reforms.
Do We Want Mexifornia?
Californians cannot even obtain accurate numbers of how many of the state's more than 10 million
Hispanic residents have arrived here from Mexico unlawfully in the last two decades. No one believes the
government's old insistence on a mere 6 million illegal residents nationwide; the real figure may be
twice that.
The Language of Race is punctuated
with descriptions that underscore ethnicity but describe nothing. It is mired in euphemisms and the
tortured, convoluted syntax that betray America's pathological avoidance of straight talk about race
relations. Put it all together and you get stereotypes, dangerous misinformation, half-truths, and daily
proof that when it comes to race, journalists are chained to habits that defy the cornerstone principles of
solid journalism.
The Origin
of the Infamous N-Word
Clarence
Thomas: Many blacks like the idea, but dislike the reality. While
ethnic diversity is good, it is no substitute for commitment to
fundamental rights, liberties and constitutional principles.
"Racism" In Word and Deed: California
Democrat policies hurt blacks (and whites) where it really matters. Housing is just one of the areas
where the black vote goes overwhelmingly to politicians whose policies are harmful to blacks. Even more
harmful in the long run are failing public schools in the ghettos, where much of the next generation has its
hopes of advancement destroyed before they can even get off the ground.
More Overlooked History: Black Violence.
[The Black Panthers] Minister of Information Eldridge Cleaver wrote about his history of raping women, claiming that
rape was "an insurrectionary act." Because his victims were white, he explained, rape was not only a way to get
revenge but also to defile and trample upon "the white man's law and his values."
Note: All the material about Zimbabwe has moved

Delegitimizing
the West: At the U.N. World Conference Against Racism, it appears that racism
is a one-way street. It is viewed as a crime which only whites can commit.
The United Nations Conference of Racists:
The UN World Conference Against Racism has met and taken up its primary agenda: the praise and protection of
racists. The tone was set on the first day of the conference, when that paragon of progressive politics,
Yasser Arafat, took the podium to condemn Israel as a "racist" state that "practices racism and racial
discrimination, that adopts ethnic cleansing." He called upon the meeting to issue a condemnation of
Israel, a cause backed by many in attendance — not only the Arab states, but
also Jesse Jackson and other Western leftists.
U.N. Race Conference Fizzles
Out: The U.N. World Conference Against Racism went past its scheduled closing deadline as
delegates failed to reach agreement on either of the topics that monopolized discussions throughout the
week: the Middle East and demands for some by an apology and reparations for slavery and colonialism.
