Ahmadinejad has declared, "and this war has been going on for hundreds of years." "We are not fighting so that you
will offer us something," said Hussein Massawi, a former leader of Hezbollah. "We are fighting to eliminate you."
"Rome will become an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will
turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe," Yunis al-Astal, a Muslim cleric and Hamas parliamentarian has pledged.
Iran and the Problem of
Evil: The world is simmering in the familiar rhetoric and actions of movements and regimes — from
Hezbollah and al Qaeda to the Iranian Khomeinists and the Saudi Wahhabis — who swear to destroy us and others
like us. Like their 20th-century predecessors, they openly proclaim their intentions, and carry them out whenever and
wherever they can. Like our own 20th-century predecessors, we rarely take them seriously or act accordingly.

On May 4, an ominous alarm was sounded in a Pajamas Media column by Youssef Ibrahim, a former New York Times
reporter. Mr. Ibrahim is an astute critic of the Islamists' steady, tireless and increasingly
effective efforts to impose — on Muslims and non-Muslims alike — the repressive theo-political-legal agenda
they call Shariah law. He warned that "In the very real war on terror, a noisy squabble over 'fighting them
there so we don't have to fight them here' clouds a simple truth: namely, that 'they' are here already.
Indeed, Islamists are busy constructing a wing of jihad in America's backyard."
Stealth
Jihad or Hysteria? During the recent Tyson Chicken controversy, I published an article at
FrontPage in which I argued that Tyson and the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) should not
have agreed to make Eid al-Fitr a paid day off for employees at the Tyson plant in Shelbyville, Tennessee, on
the grounds that it set a bad precedent for accommodation of Islamic practices at a time when the Muslim
Brotherhood is pressing forward a stealth jihad agenda of trying to impose Islamic Sharia law bit by bit and make
American businesses and individuals grow used to the idea that Muslims must have special accommodation.
Islamic States and Thought Crimes: The Thug's
Ideal. The topic of my talk was theocracy and Islamic law. Islamic governments, as ideological
states founded on claims to divine revelation, must jail — or worse — those who speak
out against the clerics. This was the thug's ideal: In lieu of rationally demonstrating the "truth" of
his beliefs, he would criminalize me, or jail me, or perhaps kill me, to stop the spread of ideas contrary to
his. In Iran, this ideal has already been achieved; there I would have been arrested, condemned, and
thrown into solitary confinement.
To
submit to the book is to exist in their hell. It is a book that contends that the greatest act of
worship an individual can aspire to is committing suicide, while taking the life of a sinner. The author
has 99 names but not one of them appears on the cover. This book demands total submission by its
readers. And has captured the imagination of more than a billion people.
What Do Muslims
Want? For many people, religious practice — striving to obey God's
commandments — is a high priority, the highest, even. Yet this priority can come into conflict with
the character of the society in which one lives. This is undoubtedly the case for devout Muslims who
voluntarily relocate to Western nations. This invariably will compromise what many of them profess to be
their ultimate priority: living in accordance to the divine laws of Allah (i.e., sharia — most
of which is derived from the words and deeds of seventh-century Mohammad).
Truly
endangered species: The world is increasingly at risk from a far more imminent threat, one
[Al] Gore and his ilk seem content to ignore. In fact, the caviling about global warming can be
seen as a deflection from a menace that is at hand and that risks turning vast human populations into
endangered species: the rapidly metastasizing, totalitarian ideology of our time that has come
to be known as Islamofascism or, alternatively, Islamism.
Most suicide bombers are
Muslim. Suicide missions are not always religiously motivated, but according to Oxford
University sociologist Diego Gambetta, editor of Making Sense of Suicide Missions, when religion is
involved, the attackers are always Muslim. Why? The surprising answer is that Muslim suicide
bombing has nothing to do with Islam or the Quran (except for two lines). It has a lot to do with
sex, or, in this case, the absence of sex. What distinguishes Islam from other major religions is
that it tolerates polygyny. ... It is the combination of polygyny and the promise of a large harem of
virgins in heaven that motivates many young Muslim men to commit suicide bombings.
"-------" Terrorism.
Yesterday, Muneer Fareed, head of the Islamic Society of North America, called for John McCain to cease using
the terms Muslim or Islamic in describing — Mohammedan? — terrorism. … In fact, it
does no such thing. The modifiers "Islamic" and "Muslim" are critical in helping to identify the
methodology, motivation, and personnel working against us. What does paint the moderate Muslim community
"in a very negative way" is Fareed's evident refusal to face up to a blunt fact: people calling
themselves Muslims have waged a war against people they've labeled infidels.
Muslim Groups Take Issue With McCain's Vocabulary.
using the word "Islamic" to describe terrorists. The Washington Times reports Islamic Society of North America's
secretary general wants McCain to use something he calls "more acceptable to the Muslim community." … But
McCain strategist Steve Schmidt says there will be no changes. "The reality is, the hateful ideology
which underpins bin Ladenism is properly described as radical Islamic extremism. Senator McCain refers
to it that way because that is what it is."
Muslim call to adopt Mecca time to replace
GMT. Mecca is the direction all Muslims face when they perform their daily prayers. The
call was issued at a conference held in the Gulf state of Qatar under the title: Mecca, the Centre of
the Earth, Theory and Practice. One geologist argued that unlike other longitudes, Mecca's was in
perfect alignment to magnetic north. He said the English had imposed GMT on the rest of the world
by force when Britain was a big colonial power, and it was about time that changed.

Attention poorly educated Muslims: The magnetic poles migrate, so no point is "perfectly aligned"
with them for long.
Obama
and Islamic Jihad. It is conventional wisdom that the United States, or the West in general, can
make the global jihad problem go away by doing something that is not being done now, or by stopping doing
something else. The possibility that the jihad might have arisen not as a reaction to actions of
America and the West — and cannot be ended by our actions, either, with the possible exception of
overwhelming military and cultural force — never seems to occur to anyone.
Jihad Comes to
Wall Street. If you've seen Geert Wilders's film Fitna, you may not have noticed a single
headline amongst all the bombings, beheadings, and earnest expressions of Islam's eventual world domination:
Halal-fund: investments for Muslims. But the investment vehicles referenced are an essential part of
radical Islam's efforts to insinuate itself into Western societies in order to destroy them from within.
A
movie and a conversion: Europe begins to resist? Some analysts of Islam in Western Europe argue
that the continent cannot escape its Eurabian fate; that the trend lines of the past half-century will continue
until Muslims become a majority population and Islamic law (the Shari'a) reigns. I disagree, arguing that
there is another route the continent might take, one of resistance to Islamification and a reassertion of
traditional ways.
I've never heard anybody say this before.
Imam casts doubt over existence of bin
Laden. The leader of Muslim imams in Norway said Monday [9/11/2006] that many Muslims feel
they've been under collective suspicion since September 11, 2001. He also questioned whether
Osama bin Laden actually exists.
Why the Islamists will never
win: Their apocalyptic vision of a world violently subjugated to their benighted
interpretation of the will of Allah is unattainable.
The
War on Islamic Terror: Four Key Concepts. The war on terror represents the culmination of
events set in motion centuries ago, back when the social evolution of humanity hit a fork in the road.
Down one path lay the Enlightenment, the path taken by predominantly Judeo-Christian peoples. Down the
other path lay a return to the Middle Ages, the path taken by predominantly Islamic peoples.
Evangelicals'
issue: Radical Islam. From one perspective, branding "radical Islam" as a family values
issue is yet another example of the broadening of the evangelical agenda. But next November, it also
could energize one of the Republican Party's key voting blocs, much like anti-gay marriage measures did in
2004. "It's the ultimate life issue," said Rick Scarborough, president of the Texas-based conservative
Christian group Vision America. "If radical Islam succeeds in its ultimate goals, Christianity ceases
to exist."
Thanks but No Thanksgiving.
[S]ome Muslims in the West seem to be making the argument … that Islam cannot integrate smoothly, or is entirely
incompatible, with Western values and traditions. … A Toronto mosque called, National Post reports,
The Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque says to "avoid participating" in dinners, parties or greetings on Thanksgiving
because it is a kuffaar, or non-Muslim, celebration. Not only is this surprising, but the term
kuffaar is a derogatory one meaning "ingrate" that was once applied to slaves.
How
I nearly lost my business. It seems too lunatic to be true. But here a hair salon boss reveals
how she was driven to the brink of ruin — and forced to pay £4,000 for 'hurt
feelings' — after refusing to hire a Muslim stylist who wouldn't show her hair at work.
The
Muslim Accomplishments That Weren't: Individual Muslims have been successful in the full range
of the human scientific and artistic endeavor. But a closer examination of these successes reveals that
they came about because these individuals stepped outside of the Muslim realm.
Minister warns of 'inbred'
Muslims. A government minister has warned that inbreeding among immigrants is causing a surge
in birth defects — comments likely to spark a new row over the place of Muslims in British society.
Phil Woolas, an environment minister, said the culture of arranged marriages between first cousins was the
"elephant in the room".

Research
reveals new syndrome in inbred Arab family. Researchers at Haifa's Rambam Medical Center and the
Technion's medical school have for the first time identified a rare syndrome — among five of 11 children
born to Israeli Arab first cousins who married — that combines baldness, mental retardation and
neurological problems that make walking difficult.
Don't Pity the Polar Bear, Pity the Endangered Liberal.
The Polar Bear population has actually been on the rise and while theoretical climate change computer models may claim that the Polar
Bear will be in trouble — all told the Polar has it pretty good. For one thing … the Polar Bear can fairly safely
cross from floe to floe without expecting to encounter a suicide bomber, an Iranian missile or some hate imprinted denizen of the
Middle East who has been fasting for a month and thinks Polar Bears are an abomination unless draped in black sackcloth. That
is the Polar Bear is fairly safe because unlike the rest of us, it lives far up North and well away from any major Islamic population
centers, which are the real threat.
We're far
too nice to Muslim extremists. Of British Muslims aged 16-24, 37% would prefer to live under
sharia in Britain, 37% would like to send their children to Islamic state schools and — most
incredibly — 36% think Muslims converting to another religion should be punished by death. … The
usual immigrant experience of gradual integration has failed for more than a third of Muslims. All the
exhaustive and intrusive efforts of the race relations industry have been counter-productive.
Islam's War for World Mastery: "During the Cold
War, two things came to be known and generally recognized in the Middle East concerning the two rival
superpowers. If you did anything to annoy the Russians, punishment would be swift and dire. If you
said or did anything against the Americans, not only would there be no punishment; there might even be some
possibility of reward." Thus wrote the eminent historian Bernard Lewis in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal.
Radical
Islam, not Bush, is the enemy. Before I mention the possible consequences of leaving Iraq, I'd
like to mention an often overlooked result of our pulling out of Vietnam in 1973. Within two years of our
leaving Southeast Asia, much of that region had fallen to brutal communist regimes, and several million innocent
civilians were slaughtered by the communist Khmer Rouge in the killing fields of Cambodia, as well as hundreds
of thousands of Vietnamese killed by their new communist government. The United States, the United Nations
and the rest of the world did nothing. However, as bad as this was, it will be small compared to what will
likely happen when we withdraw from Iraq with our tails tucked between our legs yet again.
Why
radical Islam — and why now? Read any newspaper or turn on any news broadcast and you're bound
to encounter stories of Islamic radicals fighting, killing and threatening each other — and just about
everyone else. … Shiite and Sunni militias, each claiming to represent true Islam, keep slaughtering
each other in Iraq.
Lurching
toward radicalism. The homegrown plot to blow up transatlantic flights has intensified fears
that the 1.6 million Muslims in Britain are rejecting political tolerance and free speech for a
violent, radicalized version of Islam. Do British Muslims really pose a threat to that country
and its traditional values? Some answers are provided by the most comprehensive survey to date of
Muslim opinion in Britain.
Free
CDs won't stop terrorists. The [British] Prime Minister is known to be increasingly frustrated by
the failure of the Government's existing strategy for ensuring that Muslims in Britain understand, absorb and
adopt British values, especially those of tolerance, and the renunciation of terrorism. That strategy,
whose ethos is summed up by the broad banner of "multiculturalism", has been a spectacular failure. The
present generation of Muslims is, if anything, less integrated, more isolated, and more hostile to British
values than its parents were.
If You're a Muslim — It's Your
Problem. When will the Muslims of Britain stand up to be counted? When will they
declare, loud and clear, with no qualifications or quibbles about Britain's foreign policy, that
Islamic terrorism is WRONG? Most of all, when will the Muslim
community in this country accept an absolute, undeniable, total truth: that Islamic terrorism
is THEIR problem? THEY own it. And it
is THEIR duty to face it and eradicate it.
Information on Islam: History and
archeology show clearly that Allah was worshipped as a pagan moon god long before Mohammed came on the scene.
Robert Morey, author of The Islamic Invasion, explains:
"Islam's origins have been traced back by scholars to the ancient fertility religion of
the worship of the moon god which was always the dominant religion of Arabia. The moon god was worshipped
by praying toward Mecca several times a day, making an annual pilgrimage to the Kabah which was a temple of the
moon god, running around the Kabah seven times, caressing an idol of a black stone set in the wall of the Kabah,
running between two hills, making animal sacrifices, gathering on Fridays for prayers, giving alms to the poor,
etc. These were pagan rites practiced by the Arabs long before Muhammad was born."
Muslims
can never conform to our ways. Ministers appear whimsically to be shifting from the multi-cultural
society towards an integrated one. They are whistling in the dark if they think that will play well with
the followers of Islam in our midst. Muslims are rooted in their faith and it governs the way they
live. It is the only faith on Earth that persuades its followers to seek political power and
impose a law — sharia — which shapes everyone's style of life.
What it means to live by Muhammad's words and
deeds: Every aspect of Islamic practice and belief finds its basis in Muhammad's words and
deeds. … The mistreatment of women, polygamy, child-marriage, stoning of adulterers, cutting off the
hands of thieves, mutilation of enemy corpses, the sentence of death for apostasy, the subjection of dhimmi or
Christians and Jews, even the killing of writers who displease the faithful — all have their
precedents in the things Muhammad said and did.
Multiple
wives will mean multiple benefits. Husbands with multiple wives have been given
the go-ahead to claim extra welfare benefits following a year-long Government review, The Sunday
Telegraph can reveal. Even though bigamy is a crime in Britain, the decision by ministers
means that polygamous marriages can now be recognised formally by the state, so long as the
weddings took place in countries where the arrangement is legal. The outcome will chiefly
benefit Muslim men with more than one wife, as is permitted under Islamic law.
Georgia Mayor Converts to
Islam. Mayor Jack Ellis has converted to Islam and is working to change his legal name to Hakim
Mansour Ellis. Ellis, 61, a Macon native who was raised Christian, said he became a Sunni Muslim during
a December ceremony in the west African nation of Senegal.
The D'Souza Follies:
Today's jihadist predilection for suicide attacks is a matter of technological progress making possible what
had hitherto been impossible; it does not represent a theological divergence from traditional Islam.
Suicide attack recruiters today point to Qur'an 9:111, which guarantees Paradise to those who "kill and are
killed" for Allah. This was not added into the Qur'an by contemporary Muslims, and has been acted upon by
Muslims in the past: Andrew Bostom has found that John Paul Jones encountered suicide attacks by Muslim
Turks in 1788.
The Colonial War Against Islam:
America has been fighting Islamists for longer than many realize. Even before independence was declared,
American ships were pirated and their Christian crews enslaved by Muslim pirates operating under the control
of the "Dey of Algiers" — an Ottoman Islamist warlord ruling Algeria. When the colonists rebelled against
British rule in 1776, American ships lost Royal Navy protection. A Revolutionary War-era alliance with
France offered French protection to US ships, but it expired in 1783.
A
courageous voice against the Muslim bullyboys. The Giraffe Heroes Project is an American
organisation that celebrates the lives of ordinary people who stick their necks out for the common good.
As its president, Anne Medlock, writes: "In stories back to the dawn of time, the healing of the wasteland
has come only when someone refuses to be passive and summons up the courage to ignore all the naysayers, go
forth, and slay whatever dragon has scared everybody else into terrified passivity.
The Dark
Ages — Live From the Middle East! Who would have thought centuries after the
Enlightenment that sophisticated Europeans — in fear of radical Islamists — would be
afraid to write a novel, put on an opera, draw a cartoon, film a documentary or have their pope discuss
comparative theology?
The veiled conceit of
multiculturalism. How tolerant must a free society be of those who are intolerant of the values
it holds dear? This question is at the heart of a controversy that has flared up in Britain over the
past fortnight concerning Muslim women who wear nikabs, burkas and other face coverings that allow little
more than the eyes to be seen.
John
Conyers And The Muslim Caucus. The likely new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee says he's
just fighting bigotry in leading a Democrat jihad to deny law enforcement key terror-fighting tools. But
he is in the pocket of Islamists. John Conyers, son of a leftist Detroit union activist, represents the
largest Arab population in the country. His district includes Dearborn, Mich., nicknamed "Dearbornistan"
by locals fed up with cultural encroachment and terror fears from a steady influx of Mideast immigrants.
Britain stops talk of 'war on
terror'. Cabinet ministers have been told by the Foreign Office to drop the phrase 'war on
terror' and other terms seen as liable to anger British Muslims and increase tensions more broadly in the
Islamic world. The shift marks a turning point in British political thinking about the strategy against
extremism and underlines the growing gulf between the British and American approaches to the continuing
problem of radical Islamic militancy.
Brits End the "War on
Terror". If Muslim leaders are correct when saying that the bin Ladens, al-Zawahiris, and Hassan
Nasrallahs of the world don't equal Islam, then it inextricably follows that our actions against those terrorists
do not equal an attack on Islam — once separated, always separated. As I've argued before, if it's
wrong to assume guilt based on ethnicity, then it's equally wrong to shield guilt based on ethnicity. Why
is this concept such a daunting challenge to surmount?
Females fight ritual
mutilation. Siham Rabiyah was 12 when her uncles sliced her genitals to uphold her family
honour. She remembers the searing pain, the crowd around her and the blood, but little else about the
day of her mutilation in the coastal Yemeni city of Aden. … From behind her black burka in Sana'a, the
capital of Yemen, Siham says she wants to talk about what happened to her to highlight the practice of female
circumcision, which is still ritually performed in many areas of coastal Yemen and throughout the Middle East.
Better late than never.
Adopt
our values or stay away, says Blair. Tony Blair formally declared Britain's multicultural
experiment over yesterday [12/09/2006] as he told immigrants they had "a duty" to integrate with the mainstream
of society. In a speech that overturned more than three decades of Labour support for the idea, he set out
a series of requirements that were now expected from ethnic minority groups if they wished to call themselves
British.
Submit or
Die. Many commentators have noted the apparent irony: The pope suggests Islam encourages
violence — and Muslims riot in protest. Many commentators have pointed out the apparent
hypocrisy: Muslims are outraged by cartoons satirizing Islamic extremism while in Muslim countries
Christianity and Judaism are attacked viciously and routinely. Many commentators are missing the
point: These protesters — and those who incite them — are not asking for
mutual respect and equality.
Terrorists'
excuse du jour. If you've ever stood up to a bully, you know how this works. Confrontation
tends to increase the chances of violence in the short term but decreases its likelihood in the long term.
Any hunter will tell you that the most dangerous moment is when you've cornered an animal, and any cop will
tell you that standing up to muggers puts you in danger.
Muslims draft complaint
against Swift meatpacking plant. Tension came to a head at a Grand Island meatpacking
plant in June, when Jama Mohamed said his desire for 10 minutes to pray at sunset was met
with shouting. After he left the production line and began praying, Mohamed said, supervisors
took his prayer mat, pulled him up by his collar and sent him crying to a lead supervisor, who
fired him.
Children As Bombs: As if things
weren't crazy enough already in the Middle East, here's the officially sanctioned message in sixth-grade
Palestinian textbooks for 11- and 12-year-old kids: "The noble soul has two goals: death and the
desire for it." The goal isn't to build magnificent skyscrapers or write brilliant novels or to work on
cures for the world's most lethal diseases. The noble goal for the noble soul is as simple as strapping
on a dynamite belt and blowing oneself into a million pieces in an Israeli pizza shop.
No more ambulances for terror.
What kind of cold-blooded thugs use ambulances as killing aids or propaganda tools? Islamic terrorists,
of course, have an unsurpassed history of using emergency vehicles as tools of their murderous trade.
International charities and media dupes have gone along for the ride.
8-10-2006 — Was
This Meant As Next 9/11? Its scope was ruthlessly ambitious, causing destruction officials
say would have been "unimaginable." The alleged plot to take down several U.S.-bound planes with
liquid explosives appears to be unlike anything the world has seen in years.
It's
Fascism — And It's Islamic. George Bush recently declared that we are at war
with "Islamic fascism." Muslim-American groups were quick to express furor at the expression. Middle
Eastern autocracies complained that it was provocative and insensitive. Critics of the term chosen by the
president, however, should remember what al-Qaida, the Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas and other extremist Muslim
groups have said and done. Like the fascists of the 1930s, the leaders of these groups are authoritarians
who brook no dissent in their efforts to impose a comprehensive system of submission upon the unwilling.
The
Islamofascist threat. If a small nuclear bomb went off in Grand Central Station, there
would be no known enemy to bomb in return. If this is a real threat, then the war in Iraq
makes sense.
Do profile;
don't tell. In the wake of last week's foiled terrorist plot to blow up 10 U.S. jetliners
flying between Britain and the United States, sensible people are reconsidering our government's stubborn
opposition to profiling.
At last!
Green
Light For Profiling. Nearly seven years after the 9-11 attacks, the Bush administration is
finally reconsidering its opposition to one of the most effective counterterrorism weapons at its disposal.
In the months ahead, FBI agents may be able to profile potential terrorists on the basis of suspicious traits and
activities, including their ethnic and religious backgrounds. Those most likely to commit acts of
Islamic terrorism will no longer be able to hide in plain sight.
The ACLU Continues Its Onslaught. Israeli
security agents and police have used kinetic interviewing for screening people at airports and security
checkpoints for years with much success. In a press release the ACLU has warned that the behavior
analysis screening technique could result in racial profiling. Could result? Creating public
policy based on what "could result" is nonsense since in this case the ACLU insinuates bad intentions on
the part of US security and law enforcement agencies.
Terrorists
do not share our vision of peace. We have to ask ourselves what motivates someone to perpetrate
such an act: boarding an aircraft, carrying explosives, intending to kill themselves and hundreds around
them. It is entirely right to ask that question. But it is vital that we do not jump to facile
conclusions and clutch at easy answers.

Lost and Found: Eleven Egyptian Students
Why are Middle-eastern students allowed into this country at all? Any time a bunch of them arrive in the
U.S. to attend flight school, or any other schoool, and then they disappear, it is cause for alarm. It is
reason enough to deport them, before they disappear again. If the decision makers at the highest levels of
the federal government used common sense, and were not afraid to be politically incorrect, they wouldn't allow
anyone to immigrate to this country from predominantly Muslim countries. As long as these "students"
continue to come here, they should be under constant surveillance.
FBI Searching For 11 Egyptian
Students. Eleven Egyptian students who arrived in the United States last month are being sought
by authorities after failing to turn up for an exchange program at Montana State University. The Egyptian
men were among a group of 17 students who arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York
from Cairo on July 29 with valid visas, according to U.S. authorities and university officials.
What war on
terror? FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko practically scolded us civilians when 11 Egyptian men
from Cairo went missing after entering the country on education visas. The men, all in their 20's, just

people, who should know better, still don't get it.
Democracy
didn't stop British terrorists. So why have native Brits been implicated for the second time in
little more than a year (the London subway bombings was the first) in an Islamist conspiracy to commit mass
murder? All 23 alleged conspirators held in Britain in connection with the latest plot were reportedly
British born and raised. British oppression did not create these suspected terrorists. A
radical Islamic ideology did.
Profile in
sanity. Osama and his pals must take great joy at watching 80-year-old grandmothers being
patted down and their creams confiscated by jumpy security people. … Of course, the sane way to
protect Americans in the sky is to stop looking for nail files and begin profiling people who might
actually cause terror damage. That is not "racial" profiling, that is "terror" profiling. Most
of the recent terror activities have been perpetuated by young Muslim men. So it is these people who
need greater scrutiny when they check in for a flight.
Al-Jazeera Promotes Global Terrorism.
The U.S. and Israel will not be able to win this global war on terrorism unless the role of Al-Jazeera in
radicalizing Arabs and Muslims throughout the world is recognized and addressed.

called a 'traitor' for carrying Al Jazeera. Allan Block was accused of being 'a traitor' for
adding Al Jazeera English to the lineup at his cable operation, Buckeye CableSystem, a couple of months ago.
… Buckeye's March 19 launch of the controversial news network, sister channel to Arab-language
Al Jazeera, prompted some 50 letters.
Mosque building
made simple: Satisfy the local building codes and do not make excessive noise. Oh,
and don't preach anti-Semitic garbage and call for violent world revolution. Which is where an
otherwise anonymous new Muslim temple in Newmarket, Ont., might have got it wrong. A type of
culture clash, by the way, that is being replicated throughout Canada and most of the Western world.
Happy Hajj! You're Not
Invited! Quite unlike the Jewish and Christian religious celebrations of Hanukkah and Christmas,
if you are a non-Muslim, don't plan on investigating the mysteries of Islam by joining your Muslim friends on
their trip to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj — you're not invited.
A Laudable Death:
Few men have so richly deserved death as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. He met a swifter and cleaner end than what
he meted out to Arabs and Americans alike; his violence included torture and beheadings, videotaped not only for
purposes of propaganda, but, one suspects, out of a near pornographic pleasure in capturing human suffering on
camera.
Time to
profile terrorists, not grandmas. There is one undeniable fact about the 1993 World Trace Center
bombers, the Sept. 11 murderers, the Madrid bombers, the London subway bombers and the present liquid bomb
plotters — all are clearly identifiable as being from Muslim nations. We've yet to see bombers who look
even remotely like a gray-haired governess from Southampton, a harried middle-aged U.S. sales executive from
Los Angeles or a haggard dad and mom with kids in tow returning home to Atlanta.

Years@War. On the morning of February 26, 1993, Islamic militants steered a nondescript
Ryder van through the winding darkness of the parking garage under the World Trade Center. They had
spent years planning this moment in secret meetings at mosques and jailhouses, in rural outposts that served
as paramilitary camps, and in safehouses where explosive compounds were mixed in makeshift labs. Loaded
into the van's rear compartment was a 1,400-pound chemical bomb.
A post-9/11 vocabulary test:
The indelible sight of workers plunging from the Twin Towers — head first, feet first, solo,
hand-in-hand — roused me from slumber. The photos of children who were incinerated on United
Airlines Flight 175 and American Airlines Flight 77 compelled me to start paying attention to the beliefs,
goals, language, and lies of those who would gladly kill my children the same way.
Dwelling on the tactic, never defining the
enemy. Discussing the war on "terror" has been endlessly awkward. Terror — like
blitzkrieg, sneak attack or even disinformation — is a tactic not an enemy. But in our
politically correct era, we dwell on the tactic, never defining the enemy. Drop 500-pound bombs on his
head if we must — and we must — but don't describe him as an Islamic jihadist in the age-old tradition of
Islamic jihadists going back to Muhammad. Such historical precision might be hurtful and insensitive,
and we wouldn't want that.
Muslims face extra checks in new
travel crackdown. The [British] Government is discussing with airport operators plans to
introduce a screening system that allows security staff to focus on those passengers who pose the greatest
risk. The passenger-profiling technique involves selecting people who are behaving suspiciously, have
an unusual travel pattern or, most controversially, have a certain ethnic or religious background.
Long war
ahead. The western democratic world is so obviously pitted in an all-out defensive position
against radical Islamic tyrants aiming to undermine us, it's hard to ponder how any rational individual would
ignore the threat. But some still do. We're urged to be calm, not to throw stones. We're
even urged to make amends for perceived sins of the past — to confess the crusades were really
an assault against Islam, rather than a legitimate defense as extremist Islamic forces were at the very
doors of Vienna. Now they are in our midst.
An
unappeasable global jihad. We are fighting a global war against international terrorists because
the terrorists are engaged in a global jihad against infidels. The scariest thing about it is that a good
many people in this country believe we actually have the luxury of opting out. … Why else would Democratic
Congressman Martin Frost tell Fox News — approvingly — that "a majority of the American
people has now decided that it was a mistake for us to go into Iraq"?

Muslim Brotherly Hate:
All of the problems that the world has experienced with regard to Islamic terrorists can be traced to what one
man, Hassan Al-Banna, started in 1928, when he founded the secret society of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). The
goal of the Brotherhood was to expel the West from the Middle East, and by doing so, reunite the Islamic world
under one ruler.
After all that political correctness and
diversity and tolerance, they still get targeted by terrorists. What a shame.
Canada's Cry: 'Why
Us?' No city within Canada is more Muslim-loving and liberal than Toronto; the provincial
government even considered sanctioning oppressive Muslim Sharia law. Want to live in a ghetto with your
peeps and not have to integrate with your fellow Canadians? Toronto is the place for you. So
why, people here ask, would anyone want to do damage to Toronto?
Multiculturalism Breeds Terrorism. On
June 2, 2006, seventeen Muslims, including five juveniles, were arrested in Canada for planning major
terrorist attacks on Canadian soil against innocent people. Because these were "homegrown" Islamic
terrorists, blame was rightly directed towards Canada's decades-old multiculturalism policies, which
effectively encourages immigrants to stay frozen in the culture they came from instead of assimilating
into Canadian society and Western values. This allowed preachers of militant Islamism — typically
imams funded by Saudi oil money — to brainwash Muslims to hate the West and embrace terrorism.
Multiculturalism
is to blame for perverting young Muslims. Islamic radicalism did not begin with Muslim grievances
over Western foreign policy in Iraq or Afghanistan. It has deep roots, going back to the 13th-century
reformer Ibn Taimiyya, through Wahhabism to modern ideologues such as Sayyid Qutb in Egypt or Maududi in Pakistan.
The EU Idiot's Guide to Islamic
Extremism: Whenever Europeans get together to come up with ways to combat extremism and counter
terrorism, not only do they find themselves being the ones prescribed with making all the
adjustments — as opposed to the terror-prone Muslims — but they usually end up either
with suggestions to scrap Holocaust Memorial Day, or with a very limited vocabulary.
And yet the pandering continues . . .
Police to brief Muslims before terror
raids. Police have agreed to consult a panel of Muslim leaders before mounting counter-terrorist
raids or arrests. Members of the panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on
a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid. Members
will be security vetted and will have to promise not to reveal any intelligence they are shown. They
will not have to sign the Official Secrets Act.
Moderate Western Muslims, speak
up! I thought about that following the arrests of 17 Canadian terror suspects last
weekend. Most were citizens of Canada, born and bred, or residents. The police who
announced the dragnet were careful to say that the young males did not represent any specific
ethnocultural group — though all are Muslim.
Peace-loving
Muslims: Whether most people of a country are peace-loving or not is not nearly as important as
who's calling the shots. At this particular time, fanatical jihadists are calling the terrorism shots
in many Muslim countries. Their success in committing terrorist acts is in no small part the result of
the actions by the millions of peace-loving fellow Muslims. First, there is not enough condemnation of
their terrorist acts by the Muslim community. More important is the direct or indirect assistance
terrorists receive through the silence of their fellow Muslims.
It's time to stop blaming the good guys for problems in
Iraq. Another obscene video from al-Qaida, this time showing the different ways in which
abducted Russian diplomatic staff can be put to death. And, as one could well expect, feeling in
Russia runs high. Against the United States, that is. A resolution in parliament and statements
from Russian officials place the blame on U.S. authorities for not protecting Moscow's envoys.
Death By Remote
Control: Terror suspects held in Canada planned to use remote-controlled toys packed with
explosives to target police stations, it is claimed. … CBC, citing court documents, said the radio-controlled
toys would have targeted stations in Toronto. Meanwhile, it said a 19-year-old suspect had signed up at a
Toronto-area college for flight training but withdrew for fear his activities would draw the attention of authorities.
What's this? Muslims qubbling over ethics?
Leader turned informant rattles
Muslims. The surprise announcement by a prominent Muslim leader here that he was an informant who
helped authorities arrest 17 Muslims on terrorism charges has raised questions in the Muslim community over the
ethics of informing versus a responsibility to stop violence.
Iran Is at War with
Us. Iran has been at war with us for 27 years, and we have discussed every
imaginable subject with them. We have gained nothing, because there is nothing to be
gained by talking with an enemy who thinks he is winning.
The roots of
Islamism: Islamists believe in the re-ordering of society to secure total submission to a narrow,
puritan and fundamentalist interpretation of Islam. They are conducting a civil war within the Islamic
world designed to overthrow existing regimes, which they consider to be unforgiveably apostate, and replace
them with a single and unified Muslim state, the restored Caliphate. Islamists believe that the sanctity
and culture of Muslim lands are menaced and defiled by Western influences, from capitalism to feminism, which
have to be eradicated.
Rethinking the Foundations of Religious
Freedom. In America, the separation of church and state is assumed. It is assumed because
it is a matter of rights — because individuals have the right to religious freedom, church and state
must be separated. Scholars give different accounts of the extent and limits of the right, but they
rarely ask why individuals possess it in the first place. The events of [September 2001], however,
suggest that justifying the right to religious freedom remains a foremost task of political theorists.
There are 400 terror suspects
on the loose in the UK. At least 400 Al-Qaeda terrorist suspects — double the previous
estimates — are at large in Britain, according to police and MI5. Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller,
director-general of MI5, has said the figure could be as high as 600 if all those thought to have
returned from combat training in camps in Pakistan, Afghanistan and elsewhere are included.
Where are the
Muslim moderates? Where are those who oppose terrorism, religious wars, hatred and
intolerance? Where are those who think it crazy to attempt to recreate the 8th century
in the 21st century? Where are those who want not to destroy the Free World but to
join it? They are out there, I suspect; in larger numbers than we might be led to
believe. But if most are silent and fearful of speaking out, can you blame them?
Muslims
address silence on Europe attacks. Europe's Muslims have remained largely silent in the face
of terrorist attacks that have killed 254 people in Madrid, London and Amsterdam. Europeans want to know
why. Why have so few of them publicly condemned the train and bus bombings in Madrid and London? Why
have so few spoken out against the murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, killed because his work was
considered an insult to Islam?
Dutch police encouraged to read Koran.
Police in Amsterdam will get half the purchase price back if they buy the Koran to deepen their knowledge of Islam, a
spokesman said today. A new translation had just appeared in Dutch and officers on the beat were being encouraged
to read this and a biography of the Prophet Mohammed, Ebe van der Land said.

instead of the Koran.
Civilian
Casualty? It Depends. The news is filled these days with reports of civilian casualties,
comparative civilian body counts and criticism of Israel, along with Hezbollah, for causing the deaths,
injuries and "collective punishment" of civilians. But just who is a "civilian" in the age of terrorism,
when militants don't wear uniforms, don't belong to regular armies and easily blend into civilian populations?
Maybe Now We'll Get It. Maybe, as
this terrible business in Lebanon unfolds, we'll finally get it: Guerrillas like to hide behind
civilians. Muslim guerrillas take it a step further: "Civilians" are a weapon to
them — as much a part of the fight as the AK-47 or RPG they carry. Those who have visited
any Hezbollah installation in Lebanon over the years always remark on the fact that there are families,
women and children, in and around the place.
Lebanon Is Not
Innocent. There is no way to fight a war without "collateral damage" to civilians unless the
opposing armies agree to meet in a desert and let the superior force prevail. It certainly cannot be
done when the aggressor is a terrorist army that deliberately places its headquarters, its weapons depots,
its missile launchers and its staging bases in the middle of large urban centers like Beirut, or in the
small villages abutting the border of its victims.
Apocalyptic Muslim Jew-hatred:
There are short-term reasons behind the attacks on Israel by Hezbollah and Hamas. But underlying all the
geo-strategy is a solid foundation of fanatical Jew-hatred, dating back to the founding of Islam. There
is literally nothing Israel or Jews can do to appease those who seek to annihilate them.
Arab Majority May Not Stay Forever Silent. Yes,
world, there is a silent Arab majority that believes that seventh-century Islam is not fit for 21st-century
challenges. That women do not have to look like walking black tents. That men do not have to wear
beards and robes, act like lunatics, and run around blowing themselves up in order to enjoy 72 virgins in
paradise. And that secular laws, not Islamic Shariah, should rule our day-to-day lives.
Somali radio re-opens without
music. A Somali radio station closed by Islamists for playing local love songs deemed to
encourage immorality returned to the airwaves today after pledging to stop broadcasting music.
Suicide
bomber kills 59 in Iraq. A suicide bomber killed 59 people in a crowded Iraqi market on Tuesday
[7/18/2006] after luring Shi'ite day labourers aboard his minivan with an offer of casual work.

Monitor the
mosques. Mosques across the globe have provided material aid to terrorist groups ranging
from al-Qaeda to Islamic Jihad to Hezbollah to Hamas. Muslim terrorists use mosques as networking
sites and often as recruitment centers for future terrorist comrades. There is no doubt that law
enforcement should be heavily scrutinizing the membership and administration of mosques.
It's the Jihad,
stupid. Canadian law enforcement officials should be proud of busting a reputed Islamic
terrorist network that may span seven nations. Instead, our northern neighbors are trying their
damnedest to whitewash the jihadi ties that bind the accused plotters and their murder-minded peers
around the world. We live on a doomed continent of ostriches.
Jihadist video aimed at
Muslim youth. The star of the video is Osama bin Laden, who is seen urging Muslims to kill
infidels. "Therefore each individual from amongst the Muslims should come forth to kill the Jews and
Americans," bin Laden says, "for killing them is foremost of obligations and the greatest form of worship."
British computer whiz-kid exports terror
via internet. An internet trail left by a British computer expert has led investigators to an
intricate terror network spreading from the backstreets of Baghdad through cells of young militants living in
European capitals to Islamic extremists plotting car-bomb attacks in North America. For nine months
police and intelligence agents in eight countries have patiently worked through a forest of e-mails and
intercepted telephone calls that have so far led to the arrest of up to 30 men.
Beheading
in the Name of Islam Online. Islam Online is a symptom of the much larger problem of Islamic
extremism, one that shutting down the site will not solve. Even so, it will be a wise step in the right
direction.
Radical Islam is
globalization for losers. It appeals to those left out of modernization, industrialization and
prosperity, particularly to young men desperate for order, meaning and pride amid the chaos of
globalization. Radical Islam provides it, but at a terrible price.
Dubai undertow: When
Islam in its heyday conquered infidel lands, it set in motion a massive transfer of wealth, enacting punitive
taxation to transfer money from nonbelievers to Muslims — or from the productive part of the economy to the
nonproductive.
The Pentagon Breaks the
Islam Taboo. Washington's policy-makers have been careful in the war on terror to
distinguish between Islam and the terrorists. The distinction has rankled conservatives
who see scarce difference.
One Nation Under Allah. Abu
Mohammed pauses and fiddles with his Pepsi before replying. "And if after all discussions and negotiations
they still refuse, then the last resort will be a jihad to spread the spirit of Islam and the rule of Islam,"
he says, smiling. "This is done in the interests of all people to get them out of darkness and into light."
U.S.,
West, Israel all face same threat: radical Islam. Without draining the swamp and
dismantling not just the terrorist infrastructure, but also the indoctrination industry, there cannot
be peace. Quite simply, Israel cannot share a peace with a neighbor that wants it dead.
Oppression
of the Press in the Muslim World: Reporters Without Borders describes Saudi Arabia in its
2005 annual report as "one the world's 10 harshest countries towards press freedom."
Swedes jailed for taking
pictures. An Iranian court sentenced two Swedish men to three years imprisonment on Tuesday
[5/2/2006], after they were found guilty of photographing military installations and telephone pylons.
'A lunatic runs
Iran'. Iran is a nation headed by a president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has
no respect for anything except a fanatical devotion to Islam, much the same as Palestine. … This is a
prime example of a terrorist nation, and be assured that Iran, Iraq, Palestine and Libya, to name but a
few, are nothing more than that, manufacturing the means to slaughter millions in the name of Allah.

to Islam are taking over the terrorist operations previously carried out mainly by Muslim-born immigrants
and their children. This was dramatically illustrated when a Belgian convert to Islam, Muriel Degauque,
38, blew herself up near Baghdad on Nov. 9 in a suicide attack on U.S. troops, becoming the first
Christian-born Western woman to kill herself for Islamist purposes.
Man faces
death over Christianity. A man detained by police for converting from Islam to Christianity
could face the death penalty if he refused to become a Muslim again, an Afghani judge said
today [3/19/2006]. Islamic sharia law proposes the death sentence for Muslims who
abandon the religion. Afghanistan's new constitution says "no law can be
contrary to the sacred religion of Islam".
Afghan Convert to Christianity 'Could Be
Mad,' Says Prosecutor: An appeal from the White House. Tens of thousands of e-mails
urging President Bush to intervene. International reaction expressing concern for religious
freedom. All of these are in response to the plight of an Afghan man who, because he converted
from Islam to Christianity, faces possible execution if found guilty by a court in Kabul.
Muslims
mix religion, politics. That a judge in Afghanistan can even think of sentencing someone
to death for switching from the Muslim to the Christian faith speaks volumes about the problems of
dealing with Islam. Except for some Muslims, everyone is aghast at Judge Ansarulla Mawlavezda
warning Adbul Rahman that he deserves to be hanged unless he recants his switch to Christianity 16
years ago.
What is
'democracy'? "If I must die, I will die," Abdul Rahman told a human rights worker. … Rahman
is a man of faith and courage, the stuff of which Christian martyrs have ever been made. And, thanks
to U.S. intervention, he is a free man, though he will live, if he remains in Afghanistan, in constant
danger of being assassinated or lynched.
Islamic
purity: The State Department has had a profound question to ask itself in the matter
of Abdul Rahman. Did we intend to make a theatrical point — that we would not stand by
in his condemnation and beheading, an arrant interference with the right of a human being to
embrace Christianity? Or would we just settle for saving Rahman's life?
Leaving
Islam is not a capital crime. A Muslim's conversion to Christianity is not a crime punishable
by death under Islamic law, contrary to the claims in the case of Abdul Rahman in Afghanistan. While
there is long-established doctrine that apostasy is punishable by death, that has also long been questioned
by Islamic criminal justice scholars, including this writer.
The Criminalization of
Christianity: Unfortunately, the widespread persecution of Christians around the world
continues unabated and receives almost no attention from the international media. For instance,
over the last several months, nearly 2,000 Christians in one African nation have been rounded up and
imprisoned. Yet these victims of religious persecution have received nowhere near the
attention [Abdul] Rahman received.
Celebrate
tolerance, or you're dead. Over in Sweden, they've been investigating the Grand Mosque of
Stockholm. Apparently, it's the one-stop shop for all your jihad needs: you can buy audio
cassettes at the mosque encouraging you to become a martyr and sally forth to kill "the brothers of
pigs and apes" — i.e. Jews.
The Swine are Christians and the
Apes are Jews. A recent article in the Washington Post, written by Nina Shea of Freedom House,
laid bare Saudi hypocrisy in claiming to have removed hateful material from textbooks, when in fact that
material remains in abundance. This is not just an issue within the Kingdom, for the Saudis export
such material in large quantities to Muslims in other countries.
Terrorists Killed
More Than 14,500 People in 2005, Report Says. Fifty-six of those killed were Americans, the
[annual U.S. State Department] report said. Three thousand of the deaths were attributable to 360
suicide bombings. There were 25,000 people wounded and 35,000 people kidnapped, the report said.
Once again, for Muslims, it's 'us
versus us'. Look no further than the triple bombing this week at the Sinai resort of Dahab, where
most of those killed and wounded were Egyptians, to fully appreciate the lie behind Osama bin Laden's latest
message that the West is on a crusade against Islam. If anyone is on a crusade against Muslims it
is Al Qaeda itself.
Turning off
terrorist television: A battle was won last week when the U.S. Treasury Department
designated Hezbollah's al Manar satellite television operation as a Specially Designated Global
Terrorist organization.
Taliban Terrorists Targeting Afghan Schools,
Especially Where Girls Are Allowed to Study. For 14-year-old Mohammed Salam, his tent school
was about all this mud-brick farming village had going for it. That was until suspected Taliban
terrorists burned it to the ground. … "They (the Taliban) want us illiterate so we have nothing
else to do but pick up a gun," Mohammed said Monday [7/10/2006].

couldn't help but think that maybe some of those who have forgotten, or who never fully recognized the
extent of evil we face, should see it. Could anyone watch such a thing and remain complacent
about the threat of terrorism?
It's time India got
angry and stopped all this "bouncing back" nonsense. A backlash against the authorities is
taking hold in Bombay, five days after the bombings that killed 181 commuters and injured almost 900.
There is a sense of anger and betrayal among those living in India's commercial capital that the state has
failed to protect them from yet another terrorist attack.
Democracy
and Islamic Law Don't Mix, Iraqi Official Says. Despite President Bush's insistence that the
Iraqi "people want there to be a democracy," a pro-American member of Iraq's new parliament claims there
is "no relationship between Islam and democracy."
The Islamist Challenge to the U.S. Constitution:
First in Europe and now in the United States, Muslim groups have petitioned to establish enclaves in which they
can uphold and enforce greater compliance to Islamic law. While the U.S. Constitution enshrines the right
to religious freedom and the prohibition against a state religion, when it comes to the rights of religious
enclaves to impose communal rules, the dividing line is more nebulous. Can U.S. enclaves, homeowner
associations, and other groups enforce Islamic law?
Terrorist
007, Exposed. For almost two years, intelligence services around the world tried to
uncover the identity of an Internet hacker who had become a key conduit for al-Qaeda. The
savvy, English-speaking, presumably young webmaster taunted his pursuers, calling himself
Irhabi — Terrorist — 007. He hacked into American university
computers, propagandized for the Iraq insurgents led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and taught
other online jihadists how to wield their computers for the cause.
Osama
Lackey a Psycho-PATH. The mastermind of the plot to blow up the PATH tunnels under the Hudson
River confessed he was following "a religious order" from Osama bin Laden, officials revealed
yesterday [7/7/2006]. "I am proud to carry out his orders," Assem Hammoud told investigators,
according to officials in Lebanon, where he was captured.
Al-Qaeda calls the
Queen an "enemy of Islam". Al-Qaeda has threatened the Queen by naming her as "one
of the severest enemies of Islam" in a video message to justify the July bombings in London.
Al-Qaeda is on the defensive as bombs
begin to backfire. After years of al-Qaeda terror attacks in which thousands have been
killed, many of them Muslims — the people they wish to recruit — voices of dissent
are starting to be heard in the Middle East.
If the Problem Is Muslim
Terror, Then What? Since September 11, the list of those arrested, and in a growing
number of cases convicted, for Islamist terrorist activities in the U.S. has gotten longer and
longer.
From
Hitler to Hamas: Like Hitler and those who followed him, Hamas thrives on humiliation
and blames others for its failures. Hamas understands that Muslims in the rest of the world
have done almost nothing to alleviate their situation, but they blame the Jews, anyway. They
keep it simple.
Point of no
return: Terrorists and terrorist governments are giving us almost daily evidence of
their fanatical hatred and violent sadism, as the clock ticks away toward their gaining possession
of nuclear weapons. They not only hold a harmless young woman hostage in Iraq, they parade
her in tears on television, just as they have paraded not only the terrorizing, but even the
beheading, of others on television.
What Hamas
teaches us about Islam, Iraq, and democracy: This week, the terrorist group Hamas won
an overwhelming electoral victory in the Palestinian Arab parliament election. Hamas, an
organization that pledges to seek the destruction of the State of Israel, now holds 76 out
of 132 seats in the relatively powerless legislative body.
Reading up on
Islam. Some scholars now ask tough questions about the Quran's historicity. As I
type with one hand, I'm holding in the other John Wainsbrough's "Quranic Studies" (2004) and
Ibn Warraq's "The Origins of the Koran" (1998). Warraq left Islam after coming to believe
the Muhammad story was a sham, and his books include "Why I Am Not a Muslim" (1995), "The Quest
for the Historical Muhammad" (2000) and "Leaving Islam: Apostates Speak Out" (2003).
Muslims
Think Beheadings are Bad For Their Image. Ayman al-Zawahiri's is concerned that beheadings are
bad for Muslim PR. "Among the things which the feelings of the Muslim populace who love and support you
will never find palatable … are the scenes of slaughtering the hostages." He goes on to say that
it is OK to shoot hostages. He just objects to videotaping screaming hostages as their heads are sawn
off their bodies.
Fine words
cannot disguise it: the clash of civilizations is real. Islamist
terrorism is not a phantom product of our nightmares and neuroses, but a real and
present danger in the world.
The Ambiguous Islamist Angle: In
the aftermath of the United Nations report on the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik
Hariri, much attention has been focused on how to hold Syria to account. … However, there is a
narrower aspect to the report that has gone largely unmentioned, but that shows how Syria's Baath
regime has managed to both peddle a secular image while also maintaining ambiguous ties to
Islamist groups.
Never think
it couldn't happen here. The biggest globalisation success story of recent years is not
McDonald's or Disney, but Islamism. … What's the bigger threat? A globalisation that exports c
heeseburgers and pop songs or a globalisation that exports the fiercest and unhealthiest aspects of
its culture?
Self-denial at the White
House. No known religious book besides the Koran seemingly inspires a religious vision of world
political domination — which, of course, includes America. Daniel Pipes, writing in Commentary
magazine in 2001, reported on specific Muslim efforts to turn America into a Sharia-ruled caliphate.
Londonistan: Great
Britain is struggling to come to grips with the meaning of those attacks, as they were launched not
by foreigners but by entirely homegrown jihadists. They were educated, British-born, middle
class Muslims, not poor and ignorant recruits from the Middle East.
Enough Is
Enough. Civilization has only two choices. It can continue
appeasing these murderers, looking in vain for "root causes" of the mayhem. … Or
the United States and its allies can deny suspect Middle Eastern males entry into
the West while distancing themselves from all Middle East dictatorships, which
neither punish nor even shame thousands of their citizens whose money and
psychological support fuel murderers across the globe.
Review of Robert Spencer's new
book, "The
Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam". Islam's only overarching moral principle
is "if it is good for Islam, it's right." Spencer does not flinch from pointing out
that "Islam allows for lying, as well as stealing and killing in certain circumstances," and
that "This leads to large-scale deception campaigns today." You won't hear that from
the peddlers of political correctness.
Visa And A
Prayer. A bruised and betrayed Britain vows to kick out foreign Muslim clerics
who inspire violence and hatred while blocking entry of radical imams. But America keeps
ushering them in — by the hundreds. Are we really that stupid? Yes. Since
9-11, the multiculturalists at the State Department have admitted more than 1,000 religious workers
from Muslim nations, including terror hotbeds like Pakistan. In fact, they've granted
religious-worker visas to 113 imams from that country alone, immigration records show.
One
common enemy: Radical Islam. In the decade before 9/11, many U.S. targets
were hit: the World Trade Center in 1993, Khobar Towers in 1996, the East Africa
embassies in 1998, and the U.S.S. Cole in 2000. Each time, we did nothing. Yet
al Qaeda struck anyway on September 11. There is a "reason" why four
young British men took their own lives in order to murder more than 50. But it's not
Iraq. It's not Afghanistan. It's not Israel. It's radical Islam.
Arab States Silent on Iran's
Remarks. Arab governments remained silent Thursday [10/27/2005] as international
condemnation grew over a call by Iran's new president for Israel to be destroyed.
Improving our
odds against terror: Six percent of British Muslims — more than 100,000
citizens — thought the July 7 London terror attacks were justified. A quarter
of British Muslims merely sympathize with the bombers. Even more shocking, nearly one-fifth of
British Muslims say they feel little or no loyalty to Britain.
Killed for breaking fast. A 14 year old
Iranian boy was sentenced to 85 lashes for breaking his Ramadan fast. The boy died from his
wounds. Keep this story in mind next time you hear a liberal referring to the "Taliban wing" of the
Republican party, or arguing that Christian "fundamentalists" in America are comparable to Islamic
"fundamentalists" in the Middle East, or suggesting that the Bush administration is trying to establish
a "theocracy."
Where wife-beating is up for
debate. Is it possible half the world's Arab population has no rights?
They
shoot children, don't they? Having targeted little children for death,
there is no atrocity, no barbarity, no act of evil that the human race cannot imagine
fanatical Muslims committing. [For example] the slaughtering of innocent human
beings as if they were animals while chanting Muslim prayers. The reintroduction
of black slavery and genocide against blacks. The idolization of young men who
blow themselves up while murdering and maiming innocent non-Muslims — and the
theology of sexual rewards in heaven for doing so. These are some of the
atrocities being committed by Muslims in different parts of the world today.
[What about flying hijacked passenger jets into office buildings?]
Saudis
Do Destroy Bibles, Think Tank Affirms. A U.S.-based think tank critical of the
Saudi government has added its voice to allegations that authorities in the kingdom routinely
destroy Bibles. "As a matter of official policy, the government either incinerates or dumps
Bibles, crosses and other Christian paraphernalia," the Saudi Institute said in an article
posted on its website.
Unilateral
self-flagellation: Upon arrival at Camp Delta [Guantanamo Bay], detainees
are issued a blanket, a sheet, two orange jump suits, flip-flops, a foam sleeping pad, two
bath towels, a washcloth, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, a prayer rug and a Koran. They
are allowed two 15-minute showers per week; they get recreation time and three culturally
sensitive meals per day. Schedules are respectful of Islamic traditions, prayer calls
are broadcast five times a day, and arrows painted on the floors point to Mecca. Their
regular quarters include a flushing toilet, running water and an off-the-floor
bed. Detainees who ask for them are provided with soccer balls, playing cards,
chessboards and paperback books. All of this courtesy of the American taxpayers
the detainees have sworn to kill.
Suicide out of
spite: On September 11, 2001, 19 Muslim fundamentalists committed suicide in an act of war
against the US. Last week three of their comrades-in-arms did the same thing. Fortunately, unlike
the 19, the three were in no position to murder anyone in the course of taking their own lives.
Unfortunately, this has led some elite opinion-makers to sympathise with the enemy, which was precisely
the enemy's goal.
Enemies, foreign
and domestic: The fact that native-born Muslim Europeans are committing terror acts
within their own countries shows that this Islamist malignancy long predates Iraq, long predates
Afghanistan and long predates 9/11. What Europe had incubated is an enemy within, a threat
that for decades Europe simply refused to face.
Cultures
aren't equal. Anyone who has been keeping up with British opinion since the July 7
bombings will have noticed that "multiculturalism" is under sharp attack. Multiculturalism
preaches that we should allow and encourage immigrants and their children to maintain and celebrate
their own culture apart from the national culture. Society should be not a melting pot but,
in the phrase of former New York Mayor David Dinkins, "a gorgeous mosaic." That mosaic, of
course, looks less gorgeous as people surveyed the work of the British-born-and-raised bombers.
The Face of Islamic Religious
Intolerance. Today, as I knew they would, crazed Palestinian mobs are
desecrating 25 synagogues in Gaza, setting them on fire and destroying what it took
years to build. … Unspoken is the silent message that while the Christian world
and the Jewish world would respect places of worship, the Moslem world cannot be held
to the same level of accountability.
Many faces of
Islamism. Islam is the second-largest and the fastest-growing religion in the
world. In its heartlands in Asia and Africa, the movement of Islamisation has penetrated
the fortress of the modernised elites, taking root among students, engineers, doctors
and lawyers.
What have we
paid for with Palestinian handouts? What was Condoleezza Rice's word for
the lawless Palestinian stampede of looting and desecration that erupted after the
Israeli withdrawal? "Successful."
Don't
Apologize, Governor Romney! Radical mosques are the spark lighting the fuse
that can kill Americans. That has killed Americans. That will kill more if we
let it. Such killing sprees, moreover, are plotted by young, male, Muslim militants
who often enter to the United States on student and other visas from places known to
sponsor or export terrorism.
"Extreme"
and "Moderate" Stonings and Amputations. A peculiar unreality now dominates
American public discourse about Islam. Those who traffic in comforting
fictions — such as but not limited to the distinction between "extreme"
and classical Sharia — are lauded in the mainstream media and consulted
by the powerful, while those who dare to point out obvious but uncomfortable facts
are dismissed and derided as a "fringe."
Our enemies are
stupid. People who can use a word like "blessed" to describe men, women, and
children being blown to pieces or having their eyes gouged out by flying glass or losing
limbs are not just barbarous, they are twisted. Theirs is a perversion of mind and
spirit that almost defies imagination. But thankfully, they are also not very smart.
Burnt
offerings on the altar of multiculturalism: Even as we devise new
ways to see inside ourselves to our most elemental components, we also prevent
ourselves from looking full-face at the danger to our way of life posed by Islam.
Muslim
rage burns in our backyard: Trying to erase the long-established culture of
Australia, permanently rooted as it is in the Judeo-Christian tradition, and replacing it
with vapid, secularist nothingness is not going to help. It simply creates a vacuum
for radical Islam to rush in and fill. And it is doing its best.
Jihadists-R-Us: As
much as we'd like to think militant Muslims will just go away, or that we can change them through
appeasement, or calm them down via our slick, politically correct verbal gymnastics, the reality is
that the only thing that is going to stop militant Muslims is death. … It is either us or
them. I say let's make it them … on our terms and on their turf.
Could the
same thing happen here? As details emerge about the terrorists who struck
London's mass transit system last week, many people are questioning how four young men
who had lived in Great Britain all or most of their lives could turn into fanatics
capable of killing their fellow Britons for the cause of radical Islam.
I'll answer that. It is because many islamists have no conscience, which in turn is
because followers of Islam depend upon harsh external controls (to behave themselves) rather
than self control. Christians and Jews don't steal because stealing is
wrong. Islamists don't steal because they don't want to get their hands chopped
off.
What do the
terrorists want? Islamic fascists demand that "infidels" leave "Muslim
lands." But define "Muslim lands." Arabs, after all, dominated Europe from
the 8th-century AD until 1492 AD, occupying lands as far west as Spain and
modern-day France.
The
Muslim groups who wouldn't attend the March Against Terror: In the
first of its kind for an event organized by a major national Muslim organization,
Kamal Nawash and the Free Muslims Coalition recently held the Free Muslims March
Against Terrorism. Not surprisingly, the leaders of every other major Muslim
organization shunned the march and declined to take a public stand against
terrorism and extremism.
Welcome
to the war on image. In a recent meeting with Daniel Sutherland, head
of the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties division of the Department of Homeland Security,
American University's Akbar Ahmed had some suggestions, beginning, according to an online
report in the Pakistani Daily Times, with pretty much eliminating Muslim profiling at
airports. … "You simply cannot humiliate Muslims like this," Akbar said, describing
a "peak level of anger" in "the young generation on the edge." Just one more
pat-down and they'll blow.
"Real
men moisturize". In Iran, as Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi reports in
Front Page Magazine, women continue to be stoned to death for the crime of
adultery. Accompanying this story is a photo (smuggled out of Iran) of
a weeping woman being buried up to her waist in preparation for stoning to death.
… Other punishments meted out by the Islamic Republic include cutting off
hands, arms and legs, and plucking out the eyes.
Islam and
Democracy: You would have to have a heart of stone not to be moved
and inspired by the sight of Iraqis flocking to the polls on Sunday, defying suicide bombers and
threats to their lives as well as those of their children. Even the hardened
skeptics in the American media found themselves carried away by the courage
of the Iraqi people.
Terrorism's
victims: Actually, they're mostly Muslims. It is a common
misperception that most terrorism is directed against Jews and Christians. The
fact is no group has suffered more than Muslims from radical Islamist violence. Especially
at risk are those bold enough to speak out for such values as freedom, human rights and democracy.
The
Triumph of the East: Islam really does want to conquer the world. That's
because Muslims, unlike many Christians, actually believe they are right, and that their
religion is the path to salvation for all.
Islam
and the Institutions of a Free Society: Are Islamic values compatible with a free
society? What are the prospects for liberty in predominantly Muslim countries?
Saudi
Arabia's religious hatred: For years, the Saudi regime was exempt from
harsh criticism in official US circles — an immunity bought with the hundreds
of millions of dollars Riyadh lavished on US policymakers, ambassadors, and
lobbyists. But that changed after 9/11, when a group of mostly
Saudi terrorists sent thousands of innocent victims to their deaths.
Where
is the Muslim outrage? They are still burying the victims of the latest
atrocity committed by evildoers professing Islam — the slaughter of hundreds
of children, teachers, and parents in an elementary school in Beslan, Russia. And
from Muslims the world over, as usual, has come mostly silence.

The Elusive Moderate Muslim: The
government and media are avid to find moderate Muslims — and as their desperation has increased, their
standards have lowered. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to find Muslim leaders who have genuinely renounced
violent jihad and any intention, now or in the future, to impose Sharia on non-Muslim countries.
Muslims and the tsunami:
Indonesia can now assume first place in the pantheon of ingrates. The world's most populous Muslim nation,
horribly battered by the tsunami, announced that it wished to see American and other foreign troops who are providing
disaster relief out by March 31. "The sooner the better," said Vice President Yusuf Kalla.
Murder
tool's extended blade: "Reactionary" is a much more apt description for these thugs
than "insurgent." Words matter, and insistently describing the murderers in Iraq as insurgents
distorts the aims and true nature of these enemies. Saddam's old cronies and Abu Musab Zarqawi's
suicide bombers don't hold elections, they don't dig sewers, and they don't build hospitals.
The Islamic States of
America? The hardest thing for Westerners to understand is not that a war with
militant Islam is underway but that the nature of the enemy's ultimate goal. That goal
is to apply the Islamic law (the Shari'a) globally. In U.S. terms, it intends to replace
the Constitution with the Qur'an.
Islamic
leader hails Chechen attack. A UK-based Islamic extremist movement said that
last week's abduction of Russian children by Chechen terrorists should be
repeated in Britain.
Teaching Morality: Whether
or not we agree with President Bush on how to confront these nations and those who
harbor or support terrorists, we should all be able to do one thing: call evil
by its name.
American Muslim Council
Founder Heads to Jail. Individual Islamists may appear law-abiding
and reasonable, but they are part of a totalitarian movement, and as such, all must
be considered potential killers.
Parts of Detroit seem Middle Eastern. The
Dearborn area has the largest concentration of Arabic people outside of the Middle East. Some say they
came as a result of Henry Ford's infatuation with their culture. Ford offered them jobs and places to
stay on the condition that they would teach him the ways of Islam.
The
militant Islamic ducks are quacking. Itar-Tass reports that 10 hostage
terrorists were Arabs, at least one from Africa, some were Saudi and all linked to
al–Qaida. Sounds pretty clear to me. So why do so many in our media
persist in calling the killers "rebels" or "insurgents." They've no guts to call them
what they are: militant Islamic terrorists, our enemy in the war on terrorism.
Alleged Hamas figure arrested
by Maryland police: A man described in a federal indictment as a "high-ranking"
Hamas operative was arrested in Maryland on Friday [8/20/2004] videotaping the Chesapeake
Bay Bridge. Ismael Selim Elbarasse of Annandale, Va., long suspected by authorities of
having financial ties to the Palestinian terrorist group, was taken into custody
as a "material witness" in a Chicago terrorism case, according to Maryland's U.S.
attorney's office.
Defending
against Muslim aggression in Africa. Will Sudan finally have peace? Any
truce is likely to be short-lived as long as radical Muslims continue their attempt to force
non-Muslims into submission.
Islamist
women use Web for war with infidels. An Islamist women's group has begun
an Internet magazine aimed at recruiting Arab women to fight holy wars against non-Muslims.
Will
the West survive? My colleague Dr. Thomas Sowell observes, "Those in the
Islamic world have for centuries been taught to regard themselves as far superior to
the 'infidels' of the West, while everything they see with their own eyes now
tells them otherwise." He adds, "Nowhere have whole peoples seen their
situation reversed more visibly or more painfully than the peoples of
the Islamic world."
Just what we need...
US
Offers Citizenship To 7000 Ahiska Muslims. The United States has agreed
to grant citizenship to 7,000 Ahiska Muslims who will be settled in Pennsylvania,
according to a Russian newspaper, Novie Izvestia. It added that the
Muslims would be housed near the grand mosque in Philadelphia.
Muslim Prayer
Calls Echo Through Detroit Suburb; Petitioners Unhappy. Some
residents of a Detroit-area town hope that an August ballot initiative will
send a strong message to the Muslim community that they do not want to hear
Islamic calls for prayer broadcast five times a day over loudspeakers. In the
meantime, citizens will have to call the police if they don't like the noise.
Albany Mosque Raid
Uncovers Missile Plot. Two leaders of a mosque in Albany, N.Y., were arrested
on charges stemming from an alleged plot to help a man they thought was a terrorist purchase
a shoulder-fired missile, federal authorities said Thursday [8/5/2004]. The men have ties to
a group called Ansar al-Islam, which has been linked to the al-Qaida terror network, according
to two federal law enforcement authorities speaking on condition of anonymity.
Police
Clash with Wife-Swappers in Lagos. Two policemen were shot and two more stabbed
during a raid on an Islamic sect engaged in wife-swapping in the northern Nigerian
state of Kebbi. Sect members armed with guns, daggers and bows and arrows attacked
police and government workers who were sent to destroy the group's base in the state
capital Birnin-Kebbi.
Can Jihadis be Assimilated? Nothing
has made Europeans wake up to what they have allowed mass immigration to do to them than the jihad many Muslims
are licking their whiskers to wage against the new countries to which they have invited themselves.
Islam and Slavery: The
Concealed Truth. To this day the only places in the world where one can buy a slave for ready
cash are Moslem countries. The slaves in question are almost invariably black, and the countries in
question are primarily Mauritania and Sudan.
Islam's Image Problem: Ibrahim Hooper
(spokesman for The Council on American-Islamic Relations) declares, "I wouldn't want to create the impression
that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future."
Will you wake up to an
Islamic prayer call? A holy war of sorts is heating up in a Detroit suburb,
where members of the local Muslim community want loudspeakers on mosques to announce the
Islamic call to prayer five times each day.
Punishment
includes Islam indoctrination: An Ontario man convicted of promoting hatred
against Muslims says his community-service sentence has included indoctrination
into Islam.
How al-Qaeda
May End: Most terrorist groups do eventually come to an end. Glossaries
and indices on terrorism from the 1970s and 1980s yield examples of dozens of once-promising
groups that currently have no power and make no news.
Telling Friend From Foe: Ferreting out Militant
Islam. If militant Islam is the problem and moderate Islam is the solution, as I often argue, how
does one differentiate between these two forms of Islam? It's a tough question, especially as concerns
Muslims who live in Western countries.
Not Living
in Terror in the Face of Terrorism: The terrorists would love nothing more
than to keep us trembling before their heavily bearded, wild-eyed, non-prophetic,
violent maledictions. They would love to upset our lifestyle and freedoms and have
us paralyzed into passivity while waiting for Al Qaeda's next move.
What does "jihad" Really Mean?
Free Congress Foundation analyst Robert Spencer says [there is a] need to recognize the threat posed by the idea
behind the term "jihad." "While it is [defined as] a spiritual struggle, and it is a defensive struggle,"
Spencer says, "it is also an offensive struggle to establish Islamic supremacy in the world." Spencer says
there are Muslims who believe this and take it seriously enough and are acting upon it.
CASMAS - The Coalition Against

Reports of Moderate Islam's Existence
Have Been Greatly Exaggerated: To his credit the president has not shied away from using
the "E" word - "evil." However, he has refused to apply it to any sect of organized Islam or
its leadership - men and women not evil because their beliefs are different from the Judeo-Christian
traditions of the West, but evil because they promote terrorism.
Piping The Wrong Tune: Islam
divides the world into two parts, the Dar al Islam, the world of Islam, and the
Dar al Harb, the world of war.
A Look at Islam: President
Bush, while he has provided generally good leadership and clearly enjoys the overwhelming support of the
American people, persists in mischaracterizing the interior motivation of the enemy. This is not wise, if
only because the first rule of warfare is to know your enemy.
Islam
on the Defensive: Al Qaeda is the largest Non Governmental Organization (NGO)
in the world: its recruiters are largely in London, its recruits in Western Europe and Saudi
Arabia, its leaders in Pakistan, its dead ideologues were in Egypt, its actions everywhere,
from Bali to Lackawana and from Morocco to Yemen. So then, where do we start in dealing
with it?
Radical Islam's Assault on Human Life:
Anti-reason, anti-freedom ideas in Islam encourage terrorist fanaticism.
Islam's New Strongholds: The recent bombing
of a nightclub in Bali, Indonesia, killing at least 183 and injuring hundreds, fits into a larger pattern.
Militant Islam used to be mostly confined to Middle Easterners, but in recent years it has spread to Muslims in
other parts of the world. This can be seen especially in the cases of Indonesia, Bangladesh and Nigeria.
