The film, which is narrated by devout Muslim American Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, opens with the following statement: "This is not a film about Islam. It is about the threat of radical Islam. Only a small percentage of the world's 1.3 billion Muslims are radical. This film is about them." Oklahoma's Islamic law amendment can't go into effect, court rules. A federal appeals court has upheld a ruling that blocked the implementation of an Oklahoma law barring judges from considering international or Islamic law in their decisions. The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, in a ruling released Tuesday [1/17/2012], affirmed an order by a district court judge in 2010 that halted the law from taking effect. The ruling also allows a Muslim community leader in Oklahoma City to continue his legal challenge of the law's constitutionality. Shariah in America's courts. A panel of federal judges has ruled that states cannot protect their courts from jurists who base their decisions on international or Koranic law. America needs better judges. On Tuesday [1/10/2012], the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a federal district court order blocking implementation of an amendment to the Oklahoma constitution that sought to ban judges from using international or Muslim law as a basis for deciding cases. The amendment was approved in November 2010 by a 70 percent popular vote but has never been enforced. Muslims Attacked! Last month, the European Foundation for Democracy (EFD) held an event in Amsterdam featuring two speakers who favor liberalizing Islam. More than 20 members of these pro-sharia groups pushed their way in shouting "Allahu akbar!" They demanded the event be stopped, called the speakers apostates, spat on them, threw eggs at them, and threatened to kill them. Proud of these actions and apparently not overly concerned with legal consequences, they even made a YouTube video of their "protest." Now here's the least funny and most Orwellian part: Very few Europeans — very few journalists, politicians, members of the self-proclaimed Human Rights community, or Muslim organizations claiming to be moderate — have expressed outrage over this boot-stomping suppression of free speech in a city, country, and continent that claim to value freedom and tolerance. Three Fundamental Mistakes in Dealing with Islam: We made three fundamental mistakes in our dealings with Islam. First, we assumed that the only politically acceptable answer was also the right answer. This is the most common mistake that politicians make. Second, we established a construct of a moderate and extreme Islam that reflected how we saw it from the outside. The court in Denver upheld U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange's order blocking implementation of the amendment shortly after it was approved by 70 percent of Oklahoma voters in November 2010. God's will is also every single thing that happens. So even if one disobeys Islam, it is still God's will that he did so. If there is no difference between man's will and God's will, there is no God to seek. In Islam God is unknowable — he is completely transcendent and his will is all things. Theologically this is the equivalent to saying there is no God. Furthermore, when a religion becomes completely reduced to a doctrine and only a doctrine, it is no longer a living faith. It is dead. Islam may be complex and it maybe logical, but it is logic in the absence of living truth. Islam in Africa: There never was, and never could be, a Muslim Wilberforce. Why not? Because Muhammad had slaves. It doesn't matter if he "treated them well" as apologists for Islam suggest. He had slaves, and because Muhammad is the Model for All Time, uswa hasana (a phrase that occurs three times in the Qur'an, twice applied to Abraham, once applied to Muhammad), The Perfect Man (al-insan al-kamil), his practice, the "sunna" of the Arabs of the seventh-century, can never be declared wrong. And that is why the Arabs most faithful to Islam, the Saudis, refused to abolish slavery, and finally did so only under enormous Western pressure, in 1962, when OPEC had not yet been formed, and oil revenues not nearly as dramatic as they are today. Islam's Indian slave trade: The inhuman behaviour applied to the whole population by Muslims was the same whether the Muslims were Sufis, Arabs, Afghanis, Turks, or Mogul as all followed Islam's laws, text and the fine example of Mohammad. It should also be noted that the violence and enslavement continued even after they had virtual control over India because the aim was not merely to conquer but to force all into Islam. The ongoing reconciliation process has long included bringing in forces who have taken up arms against the U.S. and against the Afghan government, but Biden might face criticism for stating that as an organization the Taliban is not the enemy of the U.S., when its leadership and members have devoted so much time, resources and energy towards killing American soldiers. From 12 to 14 December 2011, working teams from the Department of State (DoS) and the OIC are going to discuss implementation mechanisms that could impose limits on freedom of speech and expression. Thou Shalt Lie... How Islam Uses Slander and Lying to Advance Shariah. For a totalitarian system of societal control like shariah, information dominance is very important. Controlling the message, in other words, is critical. ... The prohibition on telling harbi (non-Muslim residents of Dar al-Harb, the lands where inhabitants do not live under shariah) anything negative about Islam is meant to keep infidels unaware of the true character and intentions of shariah-promoting Muslims. Creeping Halal. In January of this year, the Daily Mail reported what was, to some at least, an alarming trend of "secretively prepared" halal meat (the meat of animals ritualistically slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law) being served in "Britain's most popular sporting venues, pubs, schools, and hospitals without the public's knowledge." So prevalently was this tactic employed that some schoolchildren had no non-halal choices beyond a "vegetarian option." Once the public was made aware of this fact, Britons began voicing their concerns over the practice. Muslims Use "Taqiyya" to Deceive Non-Muslims About Islam. The Arabic word Taqiyya means "deceit" or "dissimulation." Unlike the Christian or Jewish religions, Islam not only permits its believers to lie but actually commands it in some circumstances. For the most part, Muslims are not supposed to lie to one another; but, exceptions are made for smoothing over differences between friends, lying to one's wife, and lying in warfare. "The Department of Defense considers the U.S. homeland the most dangerous place for a G.I. outside of foreign war zones — and the top threat they face here is from violent Islamist extremists," Rep. Peter T. King, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said during a special joint House-Senate hearing. US military infiltrated by 'potential terrorists,' says Rep. Pete King. Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) says the U.S. military has been infiltrated by "a significant number of people" who are tied to "radical movements and who could be potential terrorists." Speaking Thursday on "Fox and Friends," King discussed his fourth hearing into the radicalization of Muslim-Americans within the U.S., which opened on Wednesday [12/7/2011]. Do American Muslims Want To Take Over Our Country? Islam is a law-based religion (similar to Judaism, except that Judaism is not devoted to converting the world), and "Islam" actually means "submission," specifically, submission to Allah and his law. And so for Muslims, this is not simply a matter of converting people to a faith but also of bringing the society under Islamic rule. That's why it's easy to name countries that are Muslim, like Iran or Saudi Arabia, in which the citizens are required to live by Islamic law, whereas there's not a country on the planet that is "Christian" in a parallel sense. Upper West Side Traffic Snarled By Muslim Cabbies Stopping To Pray. If you need to catch a cab, you may want to try the Upper West Side. Some residents who live next to the Islamic Cultural Center on Riverside Drive say their neighborhood is flooded with parked taxis every week. "They are everywhere, hundreds of them. I joke with my doorman every Friday I can't find a cab," said John Hart, who lives across the street in a high-rise building. Muslim taxi drivers illegally park outside Islamic center. With a sea of yellow stretching into the distance, it looks like the taxi queue at a busy airport. But this picture was actually taken outside a Mosque during a prayer service — with 200 Muslim cabbies illegally parked. Residents of the wealthy Upper West Side of Manhattan are outraged that their streets are being taken over multiple times each day for the 45-minute service. Happy Halal Thanksgiving. Did you know that the turkey you're going to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday is probably halal? If it's a Butterball turkey, then it certainly is — whether you like it or not. ... In a little-known strike against freedom, yet again, we are being forced into consuming meat slaughtered by means of a torturous method: Islamic slaughter. Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus, and the jugular vein, and letting the blood drain out while saying "Bismillah allahu akbar" — in the name of Allah the greatest. Many people refuse to eat it on religious grounds. The Case for Banning Sharia Law in America. The incompatibility of Islamic sharia law with secular courts stems from the underpinning of Islamism — the unyielding union of the laws and punishments of the Qu'ran and Hadiths with the country's legal and political system. Sharia law is the legislation of these religious and criminal rules, which rejects America's constitutional secularism and legal penalties. The Qu'ran commands Muslims to change secular laws to conform to sharia, eventually establishing Islamic law worldwide. Islamic courts want their fatwas to supersede the civil and criminal laws, untying Muslims from civil secular courts. Tennessee State Rep. Rick Womick says no Muslims should be in U.S. military. Muslims nationwide called for state officials in Tennessee to rebuke state Rep. Rick Womick for remarks he made that all Muslims be removed from the U.S. military. Saleh Sbenaty of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, went further, saying Womick "needs to be impeached immediately." Womick, though, stood by his comments and offered no apology when contacted byThe Daily News Journal. "Who are we at war with?" Womick said. "We are at war with al-Qaida and the Taliban, who are Muslims. It's a Catch-22. They are not allowed to kill their fellow Muslims; we're at war with Muslims. The only solution I see is that they not be allowed in the military." Sharia's Encroachment into American Courts. Currently an estimated 2.6 million observant Muslims reside in the United States. Many live their lives according to sharia law, the moral and religious code of the Islamic faith. When Muslims bring legal disputes into U.S. courts, a legal dilemma often arises, pitting individual rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and laws against Islamic sharia law. The Truth about Islam: All too often, American analysts have assumed that Muslim individuals and groups who have no open involvement with terrorism fully accept pluralism, constitutional values, and Western notions of human rights, including the freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and equality of rights for women. And all too often, they have been wrong in that assessment, often disastrously so. Hillary Clinton: 'I'm Trying to Increase the Number of Visas' for Iranian Students. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told BBC Persia Wednesday that the State Department plans to set up a "virtual embassy" in Tehran by the end of the year to answer questions about how Iranians can study or travel in the United States. "I'm trying to increase the number of visas for students so that we have more Iranian students coming to study here. We're trying to reach out to the Iranian people, and we've tried to reach out to the government, just not very successfully," she said in an interview with BBC Persia's Bahman Kalbasi. The Editor says... Oh yes, the Muslims are coming to this country to study, all right. They're coming here to study the airports, the subways, the water supplies, the power plants, and the tallest buildings. Welcome to the Islamist Middle East and It's Not Going to Be Moderate. Ladies and gentlemen, liberals and conservatives, Obama-lovers and Obama-haters, no matter what your race, creed, gender, national origin, or level of unpaid college loans, two things should be clear to all of you: First, to describe the Obama administration's Middle East policy as a disaster — I cannot think of a bigger, deadlier mess created by any U.S. foreign policy in the last century — is an understatement. Second, the dominant analysis used by the media, academia, and the talking heads on television has proven dangerously wrong. This includes the ideas that revolutionary Islamism doesn't exist, cannot be talked about, is not a threat, and that extreme radicals are really moderates. Radical Islam or Mainstream Islam? Sharia law is an all or nothing. A true Muslim can't take certain parts of Sharia and not adhere to certain aspects and not others. ... Many readers will criticize me for saying that 80 plus percent of Muslims desire Sharia in all aspects. I can only say this because I have been going to Saudi Arabia and the Middle East since 1979, and the majority of Muslims do desire Sharia law to be implemented in all parts of the world. Not only do Muslims in the Middle East desire Sharia law and an Islamic Ummah (nation) worldwide, but unfortunately for Americans this means America as well. Thank God These People Are on the Other Side of the World. [Scroll down] An incident that might take place on a playground in this country becomes an international incident in Pakistan with one of the highest public officials in the land assassinated while the crowds cheer. Press coverage has been typically boring and mealy-mouthed. The Voice of America found the whole thing emblematic of class conflict. ... Here's an alternative explanation to the story. These people are crazy. ... The phobias, irrational fears, superstitions, and delusions that most cultures would ascribe to madness are part of daily life. The place is a lunatic asylum. ... Forget about this "nation-building." These people are incapable of holding a wedding or a funeral without somebody blowing himself up and taking half the crowd with him. Islamic Terrorism is an Inside Job. Muslim terrorists are a loosely affiliated global coalition of Muslim leaders, warlords, preachers, politicians, generals and tribes who are fighting to set up a global theocracy. The Reluctant Assassination of Osama. Bin Laden was an odd bird indeed, but odd in the sense that serial killers and mass murderers are odd, trapped in their own paranoid universes, not unlike Charles Manson, who lived under similar conditions at the Spahn Ranch. And just like Manson, Osama was able to attract acolytes. Unfortunately, however, in the case of the Saudi, those acolytes were exponentially more powerful and numerous, including, evidently, a significant portion of the Pakistani intelligence service and military. Indeed, he still undoubtedly has millions, even hundreds of millions of acolytes. How Immigration and Multiculuralism Destroyed Detroit: [Scroll down] If 50 percent illiteracy continues, we will see more homegrown terrorists spawned out of the Muslim ghettos of Detroit. Illiteracy plus Islam equals walking human bombs. You have already seen it in the Madrid, Spain, London, England and Paris, France with train bombings, subway bombings and riots. As their numbers grow, so will their power to enact their barbaric Sharia Law that negates republican forms of government, first amendment rights and subjugates women to the lowest rungs on the human ladder. We will see more honor killings by upset husbands, fathers and brothers that demand subjugation by their daughters, sisters and wives. Sharia Enclaves in the West. Islamist organizations are hard at work creating Muslim enclaves in the West, including right here in the United States. These efforts are designed to create Islamic autonomous areas, often with the expressed desire of incrementally bringing the host country completely under Sharia-based governance. Sharia Lobby Shifts into 5th Gear. Sharia advocates desperately want to convince legislators and the public that Islamic law is plain vanilla — and totally nonthreatening to existing U.S. legal codes. Notwithstanding a nationwide Muslim Brotherhood-backed pro-sharia push, nothing could be further from the truth. Federal Appeals Court Considers Sharia Law. A federal appeals court in Denver is poised to hear arguments regarding the use of Sharia law in state court, a day after the somber ceremonies commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9-11. A panel of judges from the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals will eventually decide whether a lower court judge was correct in blocking a 2010 ballot initiative forbidding Oklahoma courts from considering Islamic laws in the their decisions. Ohio Muslim Inmates Sue Over Meal Preparation. A death row inmate says the Ohio prison system is denying him meals prepared according to Islamic law — known as halal — while at the same time providing kosher meals to Jewish prisoners, according to a federal lawsuit that alleges a civil rights violation. Ohio mosque designed to blend in, not stand out. Central Ohio is home to a growing Muslim population of more than 25,000, or more than double what it was 10 years ago. Who Is Deceiving Whom? Muslims in France take over whole streets and hold open-air prayers in them. This began some years back when Muslims gathered at the spot where Princess Diana died in the car accident, and prayed there as though at a shrine. If you happen to live in such a street and want to leave or enter your house, or if you need to drive a car there, bad luck, the weight of numbers makes it impossible. Muslims in this way are asserting that they already have a space of their own and the local French can do nothing about it. It's Time for Rep. Peter King to Investigate Al-Jazeera. In a major blow to Al-Jazeera's drive for acceptance and respectability in the West, the government of Israel says that one of the channel's correspondents has confessed to acting as an agent of the terrorist group Hamas. The Israeli government also claims to have uncovered a network of Hamas operatives using Al-Jazeera as a cover. Lessons from 9/11? What Lessons? According to the elites, the hijackers happened to be Muslim — only in name, we have been constantly reassured — but were not produced by anything within Arab or Islamic society. Even to ask whether anything in those worlds produced the 9/11 terrorists — or Britain's 7/7 terrorists, or Madrid's March 2004 terrorists, or Palestinian terrorists, or the Taliban, or Hamas — is to be a bigot, or an "Islamophobe," the ingenious post-9/11 label to describe anyone who merely asks such questions. Can Islam Be Reformed? Majority-Muslim and Islam-based countries are not, and have not been, free societies. According to the 2010 Freedom House "Freedom in the World" survey, of the world's 47 Muslim-majority countries, only two are free, 18 are partly free, and 27 are not free. There is no honest explanation for this nearly total absence of liberty in Muslim countries that does not reflect in some way on Islam. Report Shows Terror Recruitment in U.S. Still a Problem. A new report released by Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee shows there's still a threat of Americans being recruited by Somali terror group and Al Qaeda ally Al Shabaab for the purpose of carrying out attacks in the U.S. Committee chairman Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y. held a hearing Wednesday [7/27/2011] on Al Shabaab recruiting in America. It was the third in a series of controversial "Muslim radicalization" hearings King has called. Is a 'Little Bit of Sharia' Okay? Some Americans argue that U.S. civil and criminal legal codes and courts should recognize Islamic law (sharia), as applied to Muslim families, at least. But sharia critics need point no further than Australia to show the utter incoherence of that contention. Al-Qaeda plans cartoon recruiting film. An al-Qaeda affiliate says it plans to roll out what some have called a Disney-like animated cartoon aimed at recruiting children to the terrorist network. Prince of Lies. "A Prince Among Slaves" was one of the more ambitious efforts to sell African-Americans on Islam. Aired nationwide on PBS and still making a tour of the United States, the documentary claims to tell the story of an African Muslim prince who was sold into slavery in the South. The story of Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahima Sori is used as a springboard to incorporate Islam into American history, misrepresent it as an anti-slavery creed and convince African-Americans that their cultural background is Muslim. ... [But] The Prince was actually a vicious racist who was a mass murderer of Africans and a brutal plantation overseer. Clinton Unzipped: One of the Worst Presidents Ever. [Scroll down] Here's a Clintonian snake pit we should smack a stick into: after receiving campaign cash, Clinton appointed Abdurahman Alamoudi to select and train Muslim chaplains for the U.S. military. Alamoudi is a charming, industrious man, who, nonetheless, is now serving 23 years in federal prison for Al Qaeda-linked plots. So far, only one of his protégé chaplains has been arrested for espionage. The Five Stages of Islam. Forget the Five Pillars of Islam. It is the Five Stages of Islam that threaten the fundamental freedoms of Western Democracy. Freedoms which include freedom of thought, expression, and association and the crucial derived right of freedom of the press. We should never forget that "Islam" means submission — the opposite of self-determination and Enlightenment values. Southern Poverty Law Center on Shariah in American Courts. A recent study ... identifies dozens of American court cases involving sharia law. Many of these cases involve blatant violations of Constitutional rights, usually to the detriment of women and children, including the enforcement of foreign custody orders to wrest children from their mothers. Yet, despite the numerous cases cited in the study, several commentators have chosen to selectively criticize the study, rather than recognize the challenges presented to the American justice system by litigants advocating for the application of sharia as detailed in the study. Why Muslim cultures lag behind. State-owned Malaysian newspapers and television stations routinely run breathless stories about witch doctors ('bomoh'), evil spirits and other forms of the supernatural. Visitors to Malaysia get a good laugh out of such quaint cultural practices, until they realize with a shock that Malaysian belief in such superstition is absolutely sincere. But it's not just here in Malaysia where this happens. In Saudi Arabia, witchcraft is considered very real and a capital offence. In Iran, laws are on the books that make 'sorcery' a crime. And in Iraq, many of the locals are absolutely convinced that American soldiers wear sunglasses that can see through clothing and have bases protected by force fields. First Amendment Trumps Sharia in Dearborn. A rare and striking vindication of American free speech principles came this week, setting back those American Muslims who believe that in their own enclaves, sharia-based restrictions on religious freedom should exist. A seminal, if ominous report released May 17, 2011 by the Center for Security Policy described fifty appellate court cases from 23 states which involve conflicts between Islamic law-Sharia-and American state law. Why Egyptians Want War With Israel: It's in the Koran. Fifty-four per cent of Egyptians want to scrap the Camp David accords that have kept an uneasy peace with Israel since 1979 — in yet another blow to the credibility of the many analysts and commentators who assured the American people that the Egyptian uprising heralded the dawn of a new, secular democracy there. A new poll conducted by the Pew Research Center reveals that a significant number of Egyptians manifest a deeply ingrained Islamic antisemitism that leads them to hate Israel — and the Camp David accords — for religious, not political, reasons. Radical Muslims, Environmentalists, and the Green Jihad. [Scroll down] Something like environmentalism can be easily used as a jihadist tool in the hands of a green Muslim to help sabotage America from within. After all, [Abdul] Matin says that "Muslims have a personal connection to the color green," and that "the favorite color of the Prophet Muhammad was green." More troubling is that Keith Ellison's pilgrimage to Mecca in 2008 was paid for by the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, which is just another name for the Muslim Brotherhood. Why don't we don't see Muslims taking to the streets every time there is an honor killing, or a church bombing, or an act of jihad, jihad piracy, forced marriage, or child slavery? Where are they? What Would Jesus Do (with the Qur'an)? We who believe in freedom are in a religious war, and it is time to acknowledge this obvious fact. Our enemies aim at the destruction of our civilization, and the destruction of rationality itself. A melting pot gone cold. How far can the state go to require religious beliefs to conform to basic law? You don't have to be a civil libertarian to feel a chill down your back in even putting the dilemma in such blunt terms. France has become the second European country, after Belgium, to ban the niqab, the Muslim sack that Shariah law requires women to wear to hide everything but their eyes from the sight of (horrors) men. Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands are expected to follow. The larger question, for which no one has an answer, is how to assimilate an alien culture in the absence of the melting pot. Muslims Are Not a Minority. The most persistent myth of the Western Dhimmi narrative is that Muslims are a minority and must receive special protection and accommodation. But Muslims are not a minority. There are 1.5 billion Sunni Muslims worldwide, outweighing Catholics as the next largest religious faction at 1.1 billion and Hindus at 1 billion. They are still a minority of the overall population in Western countries, but a demographically trending majority. No Exit. The nut of the dilemma is captured in a word, Islam: literal and figurative submission. All notions of "peace" or co-existence are derivatives of submission. And the coin of compromise is Western values and law, not Islamic dogma or doctrine. The conflict between the West and Islam is a strategic zero-sum game. If we continue to delude ourselves about the nature of this struggle, we do so at our peril. Judge orders use of Islamic law in Tampa lawsuit over mosque leadership. The question of what law applies in any Florida courtroom usually comes down to two choices: federal or state. But Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen is being attacked by conservative bloggers after he ruled in a lawsuit March 3 that, to resolve one crucial issue in the case, he will consult a different source. It took him more than half an hour to do so. No doubt most Americans are under the impression that liberals oppose these hearings because they're "racist." Fethullah Gulen, dubbed "the most dangerous Islamist on planet earth," is now under investigation by the F.B.I. for his network of charter schools throughout the country. The 140-plus charter schools, according to a newly released federal document, may serve as madrassahs where students are "brain-washed" to serve as proponents of the New Islamic World Order that Gulen purportedly seeks to create. Obama Should Embrace Islam, Says Muslim Cleric. The British radical Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary said on Sunday that U.S. President Barack Obama must embrace Islam as a way of life or face the consequences of a trial under the Shariah Islamic court system. A Muslim cleric who called Americans "the biggest criminals" during a recent interview has announced he will hold a protest outside the White House, according to the Daily Mail. Anjem Choudary, who once said "the flag of Islam will fly over the White House," says he will lead a demonstration rallying Muslims to establish Sharia law across the United States. Protecting Wyoming from sharia law. Wyoming may follow Oklahoma's lead and consider a ban on sharia law, as a legislator has proposed a bill that would amend the state's Constitution and bar judges from using Islamic and international law when ruling on cases before the court. Republican State Representative Gerald Gay says he proposed the bill as a "pre-emptive strike" to protect his state from the growing influence of sharia law around the world. Islam on a Collision Course. People have experienced what a primitive and defective system of belief Islam is, and they aim to abandon it for good. The amendment would forbid state judges from considering Islamic or international law in their decisions. The liberal love affair with Islam. Terrorism expert Patrick S. Poole at Big Peace reports that Anwar al-Awlaki, recently named as the first U.S. citizen to be included on a CIA kill-or-capture order in the War on Terror, was formerly an instructor with the Institute for Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America. The IIASA was a branch of the Ibn Saud Islamic University of Riyadh, and was certified to train Muslim chaplains for the Pentagon through 2003. De Facto Shariah Law in America. Is the United States today a de facto shariah state? A close look at recent events points to some alarming conclusions about the tenets of shariah law taking hold in our once-proud constitutional republic and the unwitting, unequal application of existing U.S. laws. The result is that when it comes to religious expression, Muslims now enjoy more freedom of religion and speech under our Bill of Rights than non-Muslims. Equal protection under the laws of our country holds for Muslims far better than for non-Muslims. Several recent examples illustrate this point. Oklahoma Bans Sharia Law. Voters have passed an amendment to the Oklahoma state constitution to ban the use of Islamic Sharia law in the state courts by an overwhelming 70% of the vote. The amendment also bars judges from using foreign law in rendering decisions. Seen as a pre-emptive strike, Oklahoma now joins Louisiana in blocking Sharia law, a draconian legal doctrine that does not recognize the most basic human rights as measured by any Western standard. Naturally... Muslim Sues Oklahoma Over Anti-Shariah Ballot Measure. Just two days after Oklahoma voters approved a ballot measure banning state courts from considering Islamic or international law when ruling on cases, a local Muslim has filed a federal lawsuit saying the measure is unconstitutional. The Editor says... The State of Oklahoma voted on the matter. One man objects. Tough luck. His only recourse is to leave Oklahoma, or leave the country. Oklahoma Muslims plan legal challenge to ban on Islamic law. Muslims in Oklahoma say they'll ask a federal court to overturn an amendment to the state Constitution that bars judges from considering international or Islamic law when deciding cases. Oklahoma Shariah Ban Is Blocked. A federal judge blocked Oklahoma officials Monday [11/8/2010] from implementing a voter-approved referendum that singles out Islamic religious law, or Shariah, as a threat to the state. Chief Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange, of U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City, set a Nov. 22 hearing to consider whether the Save Our State Amendment violates the U.S. Constitution. Until then, she issued a temporary restraining order preventing the state Election Board from certifying State Question 755, which passed by 70% on Nov. 2. Oklahoma's Ban on Shariah Law Blocked. A popular new law that bars Oklahoma courts from considering Islamic law, or Shariah, when deciding cases was put on hold Monday after a prominent Muslim in the state won a temporary restraining order in federal court. Two state legislators were quick to blast the judge's ruling and the Oklahoma attorney general, who they said did not stand up to support the new law. "Unconstitutional" To Ban Islamic Law In U.S. Courts. A renowned Muslim rights group is suing to stop Oklahoma from implementing a voter-approved measure prohibiting state courts from considering Shariah law — the authoritarian doctrine that inspires Islamists and their jihadism — when ruling on cases. The "anti-Islam" law forbidding judges from contemplating Islamic principles is unconstitutional, according to a federal lawsuit filed this week by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a national organization that serves as the U.S. front for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. Women's Rights Judge Blocks Oklahoma's Shariah Ban. A federal judge who as a senator took pride in sponsoring women's rights legislation has blocked a voter-approved measure banning Shariah law — which calls for the beating and murder of women who don't comply with its oppressive mandates — from Oklahoma courtrooms. Earlier this month voters in the Sooner State overwhelmingly approved (by 70%) the constitutional amendment prohibiting state courts from considering Shariah law — the authoritarian doctrine that inspires Islamists and their jihadism — when ruling on cases. Oklahoma: When Sharia comes sweeping down the plains. During the recent mid-term election, voters across the country voiced their will on more than just which politicians or political party they wanted to see in power for the next term. Voters in Oklahoma voted on whether or not Sharia, Islamic law, should or should not be used or considered within the state's court system. Seventy percent — that's right, seven out of ten Oklahoma voters — said no to Sharia and international law, and within days Oklahoma's chapter of CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, filed a lawsuit against the Oklahoma State Election Board. NPR, Juan Williams, and Sharia Law. NPR's sacking of Juan Williams was more than the politically correct act du jour. It was the latest in a series of media and political capitulations to Sharia law. A central provision of Sharia law is its prohibition against speech that can be construed as "defaming" Islam or the prophet Mohammed. Where Sharia is practiced and enforced, such "defamation" is a criminal offense that can be punished by death. In other words, what we in America take for granted as free speech is a capital crime in some areas of the Muslim world. For Libs Who Just Got Scared. Bill Maher, the biggest mud-thrower on the left, recently had his Juan Williams moment. He's afraid that radical Islam will take over the world. Ten million other libs who get their news from comedy shows can finally admit they're scared, too. They were just waiting for PC permission to think what everybody else in the world has thought for decades. Bill Maher has given them permission to feel fear. Radical Islam should scare you. London's Islamic Republic. 'Eurabia' has become a popularly employed neologism in recent years to describe the slow melding of cultures in Europe. Those fearful of an eventual eclipse of European civilization by a fast growing Muslim population have emphasized Europe's ever widening acceptance of Muslim practices and beliefs — even when they directly conflict with notions of Western morality and accepted behavior. But as events in London last week demonstrate, political developments on the continent may be fast outstripping the pace of cultural transformation. The Odyssey of Islamism in America. Islamism is a mutation of Islam and is rapidly advancing on two fronts. In every Islamic country, it is cowing the non-radicals while recruiting more and more radicals into its ranks. In non-Muslim lands, flush with petrodollars, Islamism is establishing itself as a formidable force by enlisting the disaffected and attracting the delusional liberals with its promises. For the faithful, there is the added incentive of Allah's heaven and its irresistible attractions. Moderate Islam? Every time anything even marginally critical of Muslims or Islam appears in the media apologists, Muslim or otherwise, respond by saying 'moderate voices must be heard' or 'misconceptions about Islam are widespread' or 'Islam is really a religion of peace and tolerance' or other such platitudes. These pronouncements are dead wrong. What we must look at is how and why Islam manifests itself the way it does and what we must listen to are the cries of its victims, those that are still alive that is. The Myth of the Moderate Muslim. A Muslim will insist on a minor change in the way things are being done. They will object to the name of a street or a business; a religious symbol, usually a cross, will be banned because it is considered offensive. Islam will be added to a school curriculum, Christianity will be dropped. Sometimes the changes are bigger than big like turning the beds in a hospital so they face in the direction of Mecca. Feeling themselves subdued and brought low the hospital officials acquiesce. In some hospitals nurses are busy during prayer time turning beds in the proper direction. A Bible on display on a bedside table is Verboten. And where are the Moderate Muslims? They are nowhere to be heard. They don't exist. Freedom vs. Sharia Law. We've been told there are so-called moderate Muslims who deplore terrorism and that Islam has been hijacked by extremists. If there are in fact moderate Muslims, they have been quiet as mosque mice regarding their positions. For example, Americans don't know if moderate Muslims recognize Israel, what they think about women's rights, or if they believe the proposed New York City mosque should be moved to another location out of concern and sensitivity for the families of the victims of 9/11. The myth of moderate Islam. The estimable Patrick Sookhdeo, who has done superlative work tracing the systematic denial of rights and persecution of Christians by Muslims in Pakistan, has written a superb piece underscoring what I have said many, many times: there are moderate Muslims, but Islam itself is not moderate: the teachings that the jihad terrorists use to justify their actions are embedded in the core of the religion. Exposing the Myth of Moderate Islam. The hatred of the Jews is in the Quran. The first sura of this book is a prayer where Muslims supplicate to Allah "Show us the straight path. The path of those whom Thou hast favored; not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray." Muslims agree that "those whom Allah has favored," are Muslims, "those who earn Allah's anger," and "those who go astray" are Jews, and Christians, respectively. ... Because Muhammad hated the Jews, Muslims will always hate the Jews. This hatred is inseparable from Islam. The World Has A Muslim Problem. Jihadist thugs are now attacking us in the name of Islam. No doubt there are a lot of Islamic believers who don't support this. But like the Germans in World War II, they are not speaking up — for good reason of course, as there was a good reason back in the days of the Third Reich. But because they aren't speaking up to oppose what is being done in their name, the world has a Muslim problem. Everybody knows this. Not many public figures dare to say it out loud. Some public figures don't want to know it, much less say it out loud. Islamic flag over the White House. Islamists say the Koran is destined to rule America. In fact, the Muslim takeover of the White House is not just an unfolding action plan but a directive from Muhammad himself. In an interview Sunday on ABC's "This Week," British radical Muslim activist Anjem Choudary made clear what he and his Islamist brothers have planned for the West. Crime & Punishment in Islamic Law. Prime Minister Haji Abdul Razak of Malaysia has offered to help Obama overcome "Islamophobia" by sending "experts in Islamic studies" to America in order to correct misconceptions about Islam. Malaysia's Deputy Education Minister, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, stated, "We qualify to send our experts as we have the experience of administering a country which is multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-religious like the US." Of course by multi-religious, he means Malaysia is an Islamic state which pervasively discriminates against non-Muslims. The Shariah Threat to America. [Scroll down] Quite simply, our enemies are at war with us because of our nation's greatness and the world's dependence on that greatness. This underbelly expresses itself in our military, law enforcement, and political elites — Democrats and Republicans alike — refusing to come to terms with the existential threat we face from Islamic terrorists. It is simply incredible that nine years post-9/11, there has been no definitive study or analysis made public, even in unclassified form, which identifies the "common enemy threat doctrine" of the world's Islamic terrorists. The Specter of Muslim Disloyalty in America. Islamist enmity for infidels, regularly manifested in the jihad, is by now moderately well known. Lesser known, however, but of equal concern, is the mandate for Muslims to be loyal to fellow Muslims and Islam — a loyalty that all too often translates into disloyalty to all things non-Muslim, including the American people and their government. The Keystone of the Islamic Milieu: Inbreeding. All human cultures display strict prohibitions against inbreeding and consanguineous marriage. Incest is a universal taboo. This is a transcendent anthropological fact. As a Roman Catholic, I attribute this to what is called "The Natural Law." Every human person without exception is created by God with a deep, innate knowledge of good and evil, right and wrong. Stabbing someone in the neck for no reason whatsoever is just as wrong here in Lone Tree, Colorado as it is in the Amazon basin, as it is on the high plateaus of Mongolia. But there is one culture, one faux "religion," that expressly condones and encourages consanguineous marriage and breeding. That system is Islam, and the document that explicitly ratifies incest is the Koran, specifically Sura 4 verse 23. The Problem of Inbreeding in Islam. There is a dire phenomenon rising in Europe that is crippling entire societies and yet the continent sleeps, refusing not only to confront the destructive elephant in the room, but also to admit its very existence. The troubling reality being referred to is the widespread practice of Muslim inbreeding and the birth defects and social ills that it spawns. Professor risks political storm over Muslim 'inbreeding'. Prof Steve Jones, one of Britain's most eminent scientists, has warned that the level of inbreeding among the nation's Muslims is endangering the health of future generations. The geneticist said that it was common in the Islamic world for men to marry their nieces and cousins. He said that Bradford has a particular problem and warned that it could affect the health of children born into these marriages. The Endless Wars of Islam. Islam emerged from what is modern day Saudi Arabia in the 7th century, and never looked back. Muslim armies swept across North Africa and invaded Catholic Spain, destroying or converting the Christian communities along the way. They turned churches into mosques, and made Islam the official religion. Muslim armies also took over the Holy Land, destroyed the last non-Islamic Persian empire, and moved into Asia Minor (modern day Turkey). By the 16th century, Islam had destroyed the Christian Byzantine Empire, had taken over Constantinople, and had turned the Hagia Sophia — the most beautiful church in Christendom — into a mosque. A century later, Muslim armies were outside the gates of Vienna. While the years have passed and the names of the armies and countries have changed, Islam's war against the rest of us continues at full speed. The Shariah Threat. A panel of national security experts concludes that Shariah law is a totalitarian ideology that is being used by advocates of tolerance to undermine the security of the United States. The Constitution Trumps Islamic Law. When reading stories about that formerly obscure Florida preacher behind the Quran burning controversy, bear in mind that the only law he would have broken in doing so would have been Islamic law. With this in mind, it should become clear that the extraordinary global campaign against this stunt is yet another concerted effort, aided by an army's worth of useful fools, to bring our constitutional republic into conformance with Islamic law. Islam Is Not A Religion, It Is Foreign Law. The time has come to question if Islam is protected under our First Amendment rights to freedom of religion. Yes, everyone in America has the right to freedom of religion, but Islam is not a religion. Religious faith is only a part of Islam. The rest is a socially engineered society with its own laws and customs that seriously conflict with American law. America's Odyssey with Islamic Terror: The Failure to Retaliate. The Islamic terror attacks of September 11, 2001 did not come as a bolt out of the blue. ... Two earlier attacks, however, and the lack of American retaliation to these attacks, might very well have paved the way for the atrocity of 9/11. These two attacks were the Iranian takeover of the American embassy in Tehran in 1979 and the bombing massacre of the Marines in Beirut in 1983. The roots of the left's love affair with Islam. Postmodern identity politics, which has infected the left to a degree greater than its exponents know, views all conflicts through the lens of power. The fundamental job of politics, in the eyes of the rank-and-file left-winger, is to lift up the oppressed, to empower the "wretched of the Earth." This is why it can't bring itself to oppose Islamic fanaticism. American leftists view Islam as under assault. Where Will You Be When You Hear "Allahu Akbar"? "Allahu Akbar" is normally translated as an exclamation of the greatness of Allah. If you see a pattern in the type of people who use this phrase and the timing by which they employ it, you're at least more astute than Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, whose greatest concern following the Fort Hood attacks was that American Muslims might face "a backlash." Islam is the New Communism. Paul Hsieh wrote an excellent article about America's weakness in regards to the war against terrorists. However, he claimed that the mosque is distracting us from the real issue of Iran's nuclear weapons program. I respectfully disagree. The real issue is that we are fighting a war with Islam. The mosque, rather than distracting America, has brought her full attention to it. Islam's Achievement Gap. As the holy month of Ramadan has gotten underway, President Obama has intensified his longstanding mission to "remind us" of the progress and human advancement we all enjoy as a result of Islam and its practitioners. ... [But] how many Muslims have been Nobel Prize winners for science? Just two: Ahmed Zewail in 1999 for chemistry and Abdus Salam in 1979 for physics. For those keeping score, ... that's two prize winners in more than a billion Muslims. Muslim prayers welcome at Pentagon chapel. Less than 100 feet from where a hijacked airplane slammed into the Pentagon, Muslim military personnel bring prayer rugs on weekday afternoons for group worship. American Muslims Debate Loyalty to America. American Muslims are debating key questions of loyalty to America, a debate in which the stakes could not be higher. ... The jihadists are intent upon the destruction of this country. If moderate Muslims do exist, then it behooves them to fight the American traitors among us. If American Muslims continue to reflect a conflicted relationship with their country of birth, putting Islam above all else, then other Americans will rightly conclude that a civil war is upon us — one that al-Qaeda is steadfastly perpetrating. Obama Is Colluding with a New Fascist Imperialism. Non-Muslims are barred from entering the cities of Mecca and Medina — not merely barred from building synagogues or churches, but barred, period, because their infidel feet are deemed unfit to touch the ground. No fewer than four U.S. citizens and a permanent U.S. resident have risen to senior leadership posts. These five English-speaking leaders are actively planning or facilitating attacks against their countrymen, while recruiting and radicalizing other American turncoats to carry them out. Lambs to the Slaughter. I used to scoff at writers such as Sam Harris, Kevin Phillips, and Chris Hedges when they warned that Christians were a major threat to American freedoms. ... But I wonder now if Christians, in their naivite and in their desire to be thought tolerant, aren't inadvertently paving the way for an eventual Islamic theocracy. It seems that quite a number of Christian churches are now involved in "outreach" programs with local mosques. Coming to Grips With Shariah. Unfortunately, too many Americans still remain unaware of the magnitude of the danger we face from Shariah. Worse yet, their ability to comprehend this threat, let alone respond appropriately to it, is being seriously disserved by people who know better -- or should. Specifically, the public is being seriously misled by 1) some journalists and politicians who are obscuring the true nature of Shariah and 2) Shariah practitioners who engage in deliberate deception to facilitate the penetration of their doctrine into Western societies. Lessons from a Turkish Wedding. In the world news, we read of a moment of horror at a wedding in Gaziantep, in southeastern Turkey. During the celebration of his own wedding, as is all too common in the Middle East, Tevfik Altun, the groom, fired his AK-47 into the air, immediately lost control of it, and in an instant had killed his own father and two of his aunts, besides injuring eight others. ... Such a tale is easily dismissed as a moment of error, a single human tragedy due to basic carelessness, but there is more beneath the surface for Americans to heed: How different a culture we have — how different is western civilization from the rest of the world. It horrifies the left to say so, but this is indisputable. American Taxpayer, Financial Jihadist. Sharia-compliant finance (SCF) is now a thriving American industry. Sharia is Islam's authoritarian legal framework. It aspires to control not merely spiritual life but all aspects of society, including economic matters. The purpose of SCF is to advance that mission in two important ways. First, SCF legitimizes the incorporation of sharia into our legal system, despite the fact that many features of Islamic law are anti-constitutional. None Dare Call It... What? Former Speaker Newt Gingrich may be the most notable public figure in some time to state the obvious: radical Islam is a clear and present danger to America. In a speech last week at The American Enterprise Institute in Washington, Gingrich said, "this is not a war on terrorism ... this is a struggle with radical Islamists." The problem, he said, is that too many leaders are "sleepwalking" and won't face the threat. Sharia Law in Canada and Britain. The spread of Sharia Law to the entire world is part of jihad. In Canada and Britain, jihad is advancing. A June 2010 report entitled "Sharia Law in Britain: A Threat to One Law for All and Equal Rights" begins with Secretary General of the Islamic Sharia Council Suhaib Hasan saying, "If Sharia law is implemented, then you can turn this country [Great Britain] into a haven of peace because once a thief's hand is cut off nobody is going to steal." What Muslim Scientific Achievements? [Scroll down] Walid Phares, an author and senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, noted that the U.S. shouldn't "be in the business of bringing religion, Islam or other to space development." ... "This is a ridiculous concept. Those who enter a spaceship are humans not members of religious sects. I think what lays behind this medieval perception of space technology is a policy of partnership with Islamist regimes, most of which are oppressive of their own people." More about the latest NASA scandal. Say Yes to a National Muslim Holiday. [Scroll down] We should treat the various Muslim holidays as we have the birthdays of American presidents with the singular Presidents' Day. My recommendation: We roll all the Muslim holidays into one National Muslim Day and celebrate it on September 11 each year. ... Rather than working to educate us slow-learning Americans about the merits of holidays like Eid al-Fitr and the birthday of Mohammad, it seems most fitting that we celebrate the contributions and significance of Islam in America's history with one special day each September 11. Mohammad likely does not enjoy birthday cards anyway because those cards too often are filled with cartoons and sketches. The Islam I Left Behind. Looking back, I see no particular time or event that, in one stroke, severed my link with Islam. There was nothing nearly as dramatic as what reportedly happened to Paul on the road to Damascus transforming him from a rabid Christian persecutor to a devoted follower of Jesus. My alienation with Islam started as far back as I could discern things. More to the point, I never embraced Islam in the first place, although I was born and raised in a Muslim family. Philadelphia's Islamist Boy Scouts. [Scroll down] Jawala Scouts or the Jawala Scout Youth Leadership Program, an Islamic paramilitary boys group, was incorporated in Philadelphia in August 2005. It was founded a short time before that. The children joining Jawala Scouts are as young as seven years of age. This is disconcerting, when considering some of the activities of the group, which include hand-to-hand combat, firearms training and survival tactics. Photographs from the group's official website show the kids dressed in military fatigues, hiking through the woods, and engaged in wrestling. What makes things worse are the type of individuals linked to Jawala Scouts. The Mosques of War. [Scroll down] After the conquest of Mecca in the year 630, Muhammad transformed the Black Stone in the Ka'aba, which ancient pagan Arabs had worshiped, into the paramount Islamic holy place. It became known as the Masjid al-Haram, or Sacred Mosque. During the Arab invasions of neighboring lands in the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond, under the new banner of Islam, numerous synagogues and churches were converted into mosques. In Damascus, Syria, the church of St. John is now known as the Umayyad Mosque. Also in Syria, the mosque of Job was originally a church. The Islamic tide swept into Egypt, and many Christian Coptic churches were converted into mosques. From North Africa, the conquests continued into Spain and Portugal, where again churches were converted into mosques. Understanding Muslims' Mindset. The Muslim's mind is imprinted with authoritarianism which starts with the supreme authority, Allah, through his one and only prophet, Muhammad, his Caliphs or Imams, and the high-ranking religious divines all the way down to the village clergy. This authoritarian mentality encompasses all aspects of life for the Muslim: the king and his dominion as the viceroy of God, the Amir and his despotic ways, the Khan and his unchallenged rule over the tribe, the village headsman and his extensive power, and finally the father and his iron grip at home over the women and children. All these authority figures are male. Muslim Enclaves U.S.A. It seems almost unthinkable, but Islamist groups are, as we speak, hard at work creating Muslim states-within-states in the U.S. Indeed, this process has been unfolding for a long time across the Western world, through the creation of isolated Muslim enclaves in both rural and urban areas, as well as through the designation of "no-go zones" where governments admit to having little authority over Muslims living there, essentially leaving them to function as autonomous regions. Islamic Law Comes to Dearborn. Is it illegal to preach Christianity to Muslims in America now? Acts 17 Apologetics, a Christian evangelistic group, was banned from passing out fliers at this year's Arab Festival in Dearborn, Mich., but they went to the festival anyway and ended up getting arrested. Radical Islamist Group Is Returning to Chicago for Major Recruitment Drive. They're back. A radical Islamist group critics say has links to Al Qaeda is gearing up to host its second annual U.S. recruiting event. The group, Hizb ut-Tahrir America, which is committed to establishing a caliphate, or international Islamic empire, kicked up controversy in Chicago last year with its first U.S. conference, "Fall of Capitalism & Rise of Islam." Osama bin Laden and jihadists love soccer and the World Cup. We're not the only ones who love the World Cup. Osama Bin Laden and his fellow jihadists do, too. Several prominent Islamist organizations have ties to soccer, according to Newsweek. And jihadists use the sport to bond with potential recruits. Thousands Protest Mega-Mosque on D-Day! Despite weather forecasts of thunderstorms, the skies were clear and beautiful Sunday afternoon for our Stop the Islamization of America (SIOA) rally against the Ground Zero mega-mosque, but not as beautiful as the patriotic crowd who came out to stand for freedom against this insulting manifestation of Islamic supremacism. It was a real cross-section of humanity: every race, creed, color and religion were out in all their glory. Vote to Bar Sharia May Be on Fall Ballot. Oklahoma is about as far from Saudi Arabia — one Muslim country that follows a strict version of Sharia — as you can get. But legislators in the Sooner State figure you can never be too careful. Hence their push to put a question on November's ballot that would ask voters to make state courts rely on federal and state laws when deciding cases and forbid the courts from using international law or Sharia law when making rulings. Sharia (Islamic Law) Not O.K. in Oklahoma. Oklahoma State Representative Rex Duncan wants to make sure no judge ever uses Sharia (Islamic law) to decide a case in Oklahoma. "Has any judge ever tried to use Sharia in Oklahoma?" a reporter asked the Republican politician, as he walked in front of the County Courthouse in Tulsa this week. "No," said Duncan, "and we want to make sure they never will." Who Gets the Benefit of the Doubt? Despite the willful denials of the Obama administration and progressives in general, most Americans understand we are at war with Islamic fascists determined to establish a worldwide, totalitarian, religious empire. Yet even most conservatives insist that such people are only a miniscule segment of the Muslim community. What if they're not? And if, as stated above, we are at war, why we are so hell-bent on giving so-called "moderate" Muslims the benefit of the doubt? The Left and Islam: A Love Story. [Scroll down] For all their disagreements on matters like women's rights, gay rights and abortion, Islam and the Left are in harmony on big-picture matters: They are authoritarian, totalitarian in the sense of wanting to control all aspects of human existence, virulently anti-capitalist, and regard the individual as existing merely to serve the collective. Consequently, they have the same obstacle in common: our freedom culture — i.e., Western liberalism, U.S. constitutional republicanism, and their foundation, individual liberty. Historically, Islam and the Left ally when there is a common enemy. But I'd stress that what I am talking about here is an alliance, not a merger. Islam and the Left — Two Sides of the Same Coin. The Islamists and the Leftists have the same goal. Absolute power. Islam like Communism is a means to that end. This is what makes them so dangerous. Their goal is to create absolute tyrannies based on ideologies that promise a better world. The 'peaceful' Jihad in America. Jihad is not mindless mass-murder, nor is it a syrupy "internal struggle to become a better person." No, jihad is the mission to establish and spread sharia. The installation of Allah's law, believed by Muslims to be a divine injunction, is the necessary precondition to the creation of Islamic societies. While it can, and often is, waged forcibly, Islamists don't resort to violence (or, at least, to more violence) where surrenders, appeasements and capitulations are available. Obama speaks softly and carries no stick at all. We are at war with radical Islam, and that war will go on for many years. For me, the question is this: Will the secular Western civilization shared by America and Europe, which allows us to enjoy life and its creature comforts, still be standing at the end of that war? Or will radical Islam, with an aggressive culture that treasures martyrdom and death over life, prevail? Modern Liberalism & Islam: An Uncanny Resemblance. Both Neo-Liberalism and traditional Islam present unmistakable hallmarks of Fundamentalist thought. (Neo-Liberalism defined here as the early 20th century attempt to hide socialism behind the term "liberalism.") Arguably, the main fixation behind both ideologies is controlling others, seeing to it they obey all the rules. In other words, both have a predilection towards totalitarianism. 30 Terrorist Plots Against the U.S. Foiled Since 9/11. Sheer luck and civilian bravery played roles in thwarting some of these attacks. Additionally, U.S. efforts in the war on terrorism, including operations in Afghanistan, have helped to weed out terrorist sanctuaries before they can organize attacks. Finally, domestic counterterrorism tools put in place since 9/11 have helped stop terrorists from operating on U.S. soil. Islam: The Great Pandemic. According to the Quran — the holiest book of Islam — Allah commanded Muhammad to instill fear into unbelievers. ... From what we know of Muhammad, is it unreasonable to conclude that he himself would be a member of al-Qaeda if he were alive today? Islamic War On Free Speech Heating Up. Four incidents recently showed anew how keenly Islamic supremacists want to shut down the freedom of speech — and how eager many Americans are to accommodate them. Graham defends calling Islam inferior. Evangelist Franklin Graham was the undisputed center of attention Thursday during National Day of Prayer observances in the nation's capital, putting in an early morning appearance outside the Pentagon, speaking to 350 people on Capitol Hill and then meeting the media at a press conference afterward. Despite the controversy that attended his participation, Mr. Graham's message was unchanging and unapologetic — that Islam is inferior to Christianity. I Am Proud of Franklin Graham. Much has been made this week of Franklin Graham's comments both about the Ground Zero Mosque and Barack Obama's religion. ... The political elites in this world view Islam as, frankly, primitive. "Well of course those crazy guys would believe in something like Sharia," think the secular political elites. After all, they are several hundred years behind Christianity. Christians have evolved — go to any Episcopalian church and you'll see a gay priest, a female priest, or what have you. Christians like Graham, and me, are viewed with the same suspicion as muslim clerics who defend their faith, but Graham and you and me will be questioned because, after all, Christianity is supposed to be more evolved. What's up with these 'incompetent' terrorists? What's up with the Islamic terrorists? Their latest failed attempt in Times Square does not stand alone in the litany of unsuccessful follow ups to 9/11. There was the incompetent Nigerian underwear bomber during the Christmas season. There was the infamous — and fortunately inept — shoe bomber, Richard Reid. And there have been numerous other attempts, both publicized and unpublicized, in which the terrorists have failed to achieve any measurable success. The Inevitability of Sharia Law in the West. When you have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. And so liberals believe that the solution to every problem is more socialism. Americans often believe the solution to every problem is more democracy. And Muslims believe that the solution to every problem is Islam. Combine the three, and you arrive at the inevitability of Sharia law in the West. As Muslims harness democratic pluralities in countries that have become socialist, and thus less free, they will impose Islamic law. Don't talk about Muhammad or you're dead. We already know the culture and passion of Islamic radicals, fundamentalists and Jihad experts. They want an international caliphate going back to the 1920s. That means they want to control the world and have it run by Sharia law, all other Religions and people submitting to Islam. Is It Possible for a Practicing Muslim Soldier to Swear Allegiance to the U.S. Constitution? [Scroll down] It is indisputably clear from these two Shariah passages that it is incumbent on every practicing Muslim, which indicates Shariah-compliance, to pledge his or her total allegiance to Islam. Furthermore, it is mandatory for anyone claiming to be Muslim to actively oppose by force of arms U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama Ignores Islamic Extremist Threat. In June 1876, U.S. Army General George Armstrong Custer was defeated by Cheyenne Indians at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. In what became known as "Custer's Last Stand," defeat was attributed primarily to a false assumption. ... One hundred thirty-four years later, a false assumption and lack of understanding by President Obama for a threat of a new era could well spell similar disaster — this time for an entire nation. Detroit-area bus agency sued for rejecting aids encouraging Muslim defectors. A group that says it helps Muslims quit their faith sued Detroit's regional transit system Friday [5/28/2010] for violating its First Amendment rights by rejecting bus ads that ask, "Fatwa on your head? ... Leaving Islam? Got questions? Get answers!" Judge: Lejeune can't ban car decals linking Islam, terrorism. After his son was killed in the attack on the USS Cole, Jesse Nieto put decals on his car that included "Islam=Terrorism" and "We Died, They Rejoiced." But the Marine Corps deemed the decals offensive and told them he had to remove them or he could not park on federal installations. So he went to court, and won. Bowing to Radical Islam. On February 9, 2010, the Pompano Beach, Florida city commission granted the imam of the Islamic Center of South Florida (ICOSB), Hasan Sabri, the honor of giving the invocation at one of its bi-weekly commission meetings. ... Sabri began his prayer, otherwise known as Salaat, with the words, "A'uudhu billaahi minash shaitaan ar-Rajeem," which means "I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the accursed." After he completed the Arabic, he attempted to translate for the audience his recitation. However, nothing close to the first statement would be found in the translation. Was this deliberate or merely an oversight? The Tragic Truth of War. Victory has usually been defined throughout the ages as forcing the enemy to accept certain political objectives. "Forcing" usually meant killing, capturing, or wounding men at arms. In today's polite and politically correct society we seem to have forgotten that nasty but eternal truth in the confusing struggle to defeat radical Islamic terrorism. There is No Peaceful Solution to Terrorism. It has become fashionable in modern circles to believe that terrorism is the cry of the oppressed, that bombs on buses are the voice of the disempowered and that beheaded schoolteachers are the response of a people deprived of their human rights. They are of course wrong. Terrorism is nothing more than strategic atrocity, a horror show meant to shock and repulse, to weaken morale and bring about negotiations. Islamville community weathers suspicions. Unlike the Amish or other religious groups who mistrust modern culture, the Muslims of the Americas use cell phones, drive cars, watch television and surf the Internet, especially for education. They also socialize with their neighbors. ... "We're just like everybody else," said [Haneef] Shabazz, while sitting in the bleachers at Stokes Field in Dover, watching his daughter try out for a local softball team. "We just get up before the sun to pray." The Editor says... Yeah, they're just like everybody else, except that they're offended by just about everything, their women walk around in a head-to-toe bag, you never know when they'll blow themselves up, or open fire on unarmed bystanders, or kill their own family members to protect their so-called "honor", and their ultimate goal is world domination. Making Jihadists. The great majority of jihadists emanate from the ranks of those born into the religion of Islam simply because they are the ones most thoroughly indoctrinated and influenced by Islamic dogma in their most receptive early years. Yet there are others who embrace Islam in adulthood, on their own, and enlist themselves as devoted jihadists for the same rewards that Islam offers. Wahhabism and the First Amendment. Islamists aspire to apply Islamic law to everyone, while observant Jews seek only themselves to live by Jewish law. Two very recent examples from the United Kingdom demonstrate the innate imperialism of Islamic law. Fairfax approves expansion of Islamic academy. Fairfax County supervisors on Monday [8/3/2009] narrowly voted to let a Saudi-funded Islamic prep school expand its campus on a hazardous country road, capping a months-long debate that mashed traffic concerns with accusations that the school's curriculum fosters religious intolerance. Is Democracy the Killer of Liberty? The very word "Islam" is derived from the root word of "taslim," which means submission, submission to the will and dictates of Allah as stipulated by Muhammad and elucidated by the medieval Islamic clerics. Free people withstood the assaults of tyrannies such as fascism and communism and paid dearly in preserving liberty. Now, liberty is once again in mortal danger. This time, it's from Islam. And democracy is indeed a great potential friend of the enemy. A Tale of Two Constitutions. Last Sunday's conference was titled, "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam," and it's was held at the Hilton Hotel in a suburb of Chicago. The shocking part of this story is that the majority of US lawmakers were silent about this gathering of avowed enemies of the US Constitution and American values. Those who did speak out made certain to preface their remarks with the old cliché "they are exercising their First Amendment rights." That was the rationale given by the management at Hilton Hotels, as well. The Islamist Who Served on the Electoral College. Election 2008 proved historic on a number of levels, but one milestone passed without the recognition it deserves. When the Electoral College convened on December 15 to ratify the citizens' choice of Barack Obama as the next president, Jafar "Jeff" Siddiqui of Lynnwood, Washington, became the first known Islamist to cast an electoral vote. Invasion By Immigration. The late British parliamentarian Enoch Powell warned more than 40 years ago that Britain had to be mad to allow in 50,000 dependents of immigrants every year. Powell, who was denounced as a racist and a xenophobe by the intellectual elites, compared it to watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre. In retrospect, Powell looks like a prophet. Fascism 101. Nazism was supremacist. Hitler preached that Germans and Aryans were a master race, born to rule the world. Militant Islamists — whether Shiite (like Khomeini) or Sunni (like Osama bin Laden) — also are supremacist, though they substitute religion for race, the "Nation of Islam" for the German nation. They claim Muslims — led by them — have a divine right to rule. The Nazis believed their triumph would come through a glorious war. The Islamists believe their triumph will come through a glorious holy war — a jihad against infidels and the West. The Nazis believed that only men, not women, are fit to lead and wield power. The Islamists concur. NYC Muslims push to add holidays to school year. Moneeb Hassan remembers having to choose between a final exam in American history or celebrating the Muslim holy day of Eid al-Adha. In the end, he chose both. Hassan, 17, is one of thousands of Muslim students in the city who must perform a balancing act between his academic and religious obligations during his holidays. But the nation's largest school district hasn't sanctioned official Muslim holidays. "People came to this country for freedom of religion," Hassan said. "We're just asking for fair and equal treatment." The Editor says... You should think twice before asking for fair treatment in New York City, Moneeb. They just might give it to you. One-Way Free Speech. On July 19th, a conference entitled "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam" took place as scheduled at the Hilton Hotel in Oak Lawn, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. There, in the heartland of a post 9/11 America, Hizb-ut Tahrir, an international organization outlawed as a terrorist group in several European and Middle East countries, sponsored sessions focusing on strategies to end free enterprise and replace it with Shari'ah law. When You Lie Down with Pythons. Nestled on lovely two-lane bypass, Popes Head Road, some 21 miles from Washington, DC, the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA) is a private K-12 school founded and financed by the Government of Saudi Arabia. The fully accredited ISA declares that it "promotes respect and mutual understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims, Arabs and Americans while keeping within the Muslim faith." Imam at Windy City Islamist confab: We'll fight til 'Islam Becomes Victorious or We Die in the Attempt'. Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT), the international movement to re-establish an international Islamic state, or Caliphate, kicked off a new campaign to win American recruits Sunday afternoon [7/19/2009] in this Chicago suburb. Nearly 300 people packed the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel for its Khalifah Conference on "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam" to listen to HT ideologues blame capitalism for World War I and World War II; the U.S. subprime mortgage meltdown; the current violence in Iraq and Afghanistan; world poverty and malnutrition and inner-city drug use. Pope expresses 'deep respect' for Islam. Pope Benedict XVI expressed deep respect for Islam Friday [5/8/2009] and said he hopes the Catholic Church can play a role in Mideast peace as he began his first trip to the region, where he hopes to improve frayed ties with Muslims. Civilization and Mosques: The entire globe is Islam's religious ambition and field of conquest. Bombings and attacks in New York and London, Madrid and Moscow, Bali and Mumbai, Jerusalem and Balsan, are not isolated or discrete instances of local theatre low-intensive assaults, but components of a pattern of coordinated and executed warfare of a very singular kind. Where are the "separation of church and state" activists now? Muslim Group Giving 100,000 Qur'ans to Elected Officials. On the premise that nothing makes a better gift than a good book, a Muslim civil liberties group is launching a campaign to hand out 100,000 free copies of an expensive Arabic-English copy of the Qur'an to elected officials and influential policy makers. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is planning to announce their campaign at a press conference Tuesday [6/30/2009]. Hijab bullies want everyone to cover up. Lawful Islamists use two general strategies to advance their agenda: they request that Muslims be granted special privileges and, more broadly, they seek to impose their ways on others. The Other Intelligence Failure. There is some kind of suicide-supply chain working in the Muslim world and in Iraq that is able to draw recruits, connect them with bomb makers and deploy them tactically against U.S. and Iraqi targets on an almost daily basis. What is even more unnerving about these suicide bombers is that, unlike the Hamas crew in Israel, who produce videos of themselves, explain their rationale and say goodbye to families, virtually all the bombers in Iraq have blown themselves up without even telling us their names. Nobody wants a terrorist for a neighbor. President Barack Obama made a serious mistake when he decided to close the U.S. prison facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, without first figuring out where to put the 240 detainees held there. Most of these people are hard-core jihadists whose main goal in life is to kill Americans. Obama can call it an "overseas contingency operation," but for the Gitmo detainees it is a declared war against us and terrorism is their weapon of choice. Man convicted in NY of trying to start terror camp. A jury convicted a Lebanese-born Swede on Tuesday [5/12/2009] of plotting to help al-Qaida recruit by trying to set up a weapons-training post in Oregon and distributing terrorist training manuals over the Internet. The Somali Pirates Are Jihadists. Let's not lose sight of who [Captain Richard] Phillips' captors were. His Somali pirate captors are Islamic jihadists, dedicated to the same goals as Osama bin Laden and other jihadists around the world. In August 2008, when the pirates became especially active off the Horn of Africa, Andrew Mwangura, head of the East African Seafarers' Assistance Programme, declared that Al-Shabaab, a group of jihadists in Somalia, use piracy to fund their jihad: "According to our information, the money they make from piracy and ransoms goes to support al-Shabaab activities onshore." Where Credit Is Due. The United States should start calling these "pirates" by their true name. They are Islamic terrorists who make millions in ransom from ship hijackings and kidnappings. They don't buy fancy cars and big houses like members of some drug cartels. Instead, they use the money to finance terrorism around the world. Somali Pirates Form Unholy Alliance with Islamists. Warships have done little to deter Somalia's pirates. But following the latest spate of hijackings, the West plans to take a more robust approach to protecting shipping. Intelligence agencies are alarmed at the pirates' increasingly close ties to Islamist groups. Walking the plank. All of the arguments of the wimp world view are predictably trotted out on issues like this: that violence only begets more violence, that we shouldn't in our arrogance claim the right to police the high seas and summarily dispatch justice, that this and other problems can only be addressed in multilateral fashion with U.N. approval. All of it is completely wrong. Piracy is a criminal act and a criminal act only. Show Me the Mullah. I am struck by the lack of coverage in the media of the obvious beneficiary of the rise in Somali piracy. Let's just ask the question; who stands to gain from this phenomenon? It's pretty simple really. The piracy in the northern Indian Ocean raises large sums of money for fundamentalist Mullahs and puts a big hurt on Suez Canal traffic. This piracy is a de facto extension of the strategy behind the assassination of Anwar Sadat and busloads of foreign tourists. War and Peace — and Deceit — in Islam (Part 1). Amazingly, for all the talk that Islam is constantly being "misunderstood" or "misinterpreted" by "radicals," the fact is, as opposed to most other religions, Islam is a clearly defined faith admitting of no ambiguity: indeed, according to Sharia (i.e., "Islam's way of life," more commonly translated as "Islamic law") every conceivable human act is categorized as being either forbidden, discouraged, permissible, recommended, or obligatory. "Common sense" or "universal opinion" has little to do with Islam's notions of right and wrong. War and Peace — and Deceit — in Islam (Part 2). The fact that Islam legitimizes deceit during war cannot be all that surprising; as the saying goes, all's fair in love and war. Moreover, non-Muslim thinkers and philosophers, such as Sun Tzu, Machiavelli, and Hobbes, all justified deceit in war. The crucial difference, however, is that, according to all four recognized schools of Sunni jurisprudence, war against the infidel goes on in perpetuity — until "all chaos ceases, and all religion belongs to Allah" (Koran 8:39). Clear and Present Danger. The most dangerous men currently incarcerated at Guantánamo are the 14 "high value" detainees. The Bush administration gave them this designation because they are uniquely lethal, having planned and participated in the most devastating terrorist attacks in history. Their collective dossier includes, among other attacks, 9/11, the American embassy bombings (August 7, 1998), the USS Cole bombing (October 12, 2000), and the Bali bombings (October 12, 2002). They are responsible for murdering thousands of civilians around the globe, from the eastern United States to Southeast Asia. Had they not been captured, they surely would have murdered thousands more. How Britain's mosques foster extremism. Today, there are between 1,200 and 1,600 mosques in Britain — no definite figure exists. Yesterday, the Charity Commission sought to gloss over the malaise in them by publishing figures on attendance, but not inquiring into difficult areas. At Quilliam, Britain's first counter-extremism think-tank, we commissioned a poll of more than 1,000 mosques in 2008, during Ramadan when mosques are busiest. Despite employing Urdu and Bengali-speaking researchers, we could poll only just over 500. Most British mosques don't maintain a reception or service to answer questions, and not every one we did reach was willing to answer. Cruel and Usual Punishment. Every time I tried to find a solution to all the ills of Muslim society, such as jihad, oppression of women and minorities, I was confronted with an Islamic law that stood in the way of a solution. Having been born and raised as a Muslim who lived under Sharia for 30 years of my life, I know first hand the destructive impact of sharia on the healthy functioning of society and its total disregard for basic human rights. Imaginary Islamist Think-Tanks. Despite what the pessimists say, there is one industry that is still flourishing in the UK. It consists of Islamists establishing their own think-tanks and pressure groups. They serve little purpose other than to bestow legitimacy upon ill-informed, extremist Muslim speakers, who can then attend conferences and get media access under the façade of expertise. Playing on both sides of the fence... Episcopal priest with Muslim beliefs defrocked. An Episcopal priest has been defrocked for refusing to recant her faith in Islam, Rhode Island Bishop Geralyn Wolf said Wednesday [4/1/2009]. Ann Holmes Redding's expulsion from the priesthood was two years in the making. Wolf first learned in June 2007 that Redding had become a Muslim when she recited the Shahadah — the Islam creed testifying to Allah as the only God and Muhammad as his prophet. Who's Sorry Now? In 2000, at a state dinner in Washington, Secretary of State Madeline Albright ... said the U.S. "must bear its full share of responsibility for the problems that have arisen in U.S.-Iranian relations." Those problems presumably include Hezbollah, created and supported by Iran, killing 243 American soldiers in their Beirut barracks in 1983. Before 9/11, Hezbollah was responsible for killing more Americans than any other terrorist group. They have never apologized for this and other actions. Free Speech Is Great, But ... Accusations of "Islamophobia" have been used as a cudgel to shut down debate even in Canada, where Islamic groups have used the law to try to silence National Review's Mark Steyn and others. We are seeing a similar dynamic here. Obviously, the challenge that immigration-driven multiculturalism poses to free speech here is the decaf, low-calorie version of what Europe and Canada face. The cultural distance between our society and the bulk of our immigrants is much smaller than in Europe, and we have a much stronger sense of ourselves, which has resulted in more success in getting newcomers to assimilate. Islam-Speak: It has become very clear that in the West, we have a fundamental misunderstanding of Islam. Its history, guiding principles, and more importantly, what it means to a Muslim when he uses certain terms. In order to understand what Muslims mean when they use a certain word, we must remember that in their minds and cultures, certain words do not mean anything like the accepted meaning we have for them in the West. Taliban from Outer Space. [Scroll down] When girls and women are denied education or even health care and are executed by their own kin for minor infractions against the cult, how does that square with our insistence that all men want greater opportunities for the kids? What about those Afghan parents who approve of or even encourage suicidal attacks by their sons? This not only confounds our value system, but defies biological reason. Human Rights vs. Islamic Rights. [Scroll down] The pre-cursor to the Cairo Declaration was the Universal Islamic Declaration of Human Rights, first proclaimed in the 1980's by the Islamic Council at the International Conference on the Prophet Mohammad and His Message. The document was rooted in the belief that Allah alone is the law giver and the source of all laws. ... Cairo, unlike the UNDHR is anything but a religion-neutral document. On the contrary, it overtly asserts that Islam is superior over other religions, and that the Islamic ummah is the "best nation". South Florida: Learn about Islam, ads say. South Florida Muslims launched an ad campaign Tuesday with banners on more than 120 buses urging Floridians to learn more about Islam. For eight weeks, buses in Broward and Miami-Dade counties will carry messages like "Islam: Got Questions? Get answers." The Editor says... Educating the public about Islam is what this page is all about. Hamas backers jailed in Texas. Two founder members of what was once the biggest Muslim charity in the US have each been jailed for 65 years. Shukri Abu Baker, 50, and Ghassan Elashi, 55, were convicted of channelling funds to the Palestinian militant group, Hamas. Holy Land Foundation defendants guilty on all counts. A jury on Monday [11/24/2008] determined that the Holy Land Foundation and five men who worked with the Muslim charity were guilty of three dozen counts related to the illegal funneling of at least $12 million to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. The unanimous verdicts are a complete victory for the government, which streamlined its case after a mistrial last year, and worked hard to carefully educate jurors on the complex evidence presented in the massive case. The dangerous illusion of independent terrorists. It may be that since the 9/11 attacks in New York, the world has completely misconceived the age of terror. The radical increase in the lethality, range, political consequence and strategic influence of terrorists comes not from their being non-state actors at all. Instead it comes from their being sponsored by states. Sometimes they are the instruments of states and at other times they make strategic alliances with states. A terrorist group operating without any state sponsorship is an infinitely less dangerous outfit than a terrorist group operating with the co-operation of even the most ramshackle state. Jewish Museum of Tolerance Is Intolerable to Muslims. A planned Museum of Tolerance in western Jerusalem is creating another rift between Jews and Muslims. An American Muslim group says the museum is going up on the site of a Muslim cemetery and it wants construction stopped. Israel's supreme court, however, ruled that the museum is being built on land that's been used for decades as a parking lot without complaint from Muslims. Fear and the Future of Islam: Fear is a primal human emotion. It is also a tool of the weak, the impatient, and those who having sensed a deficit of power, feel that they have no other recourse than to use it to subdue their presumed enemies. These people are called terrorists. But the terrorist does not seek to merely inspire fear for its own sake. He seeks to bring about change. He hopes that those whom he terrorizes will be persuaded to reconsider their positions. Hence the terrorist is not only the weakest but also the least imaginative of all change agents. Enough of Radical Islam. Enough with the pseudonyms. Western civilization isn't at war with terrorism any more than it is at war with grenades. Western civilization is at war with militant Islam, which dominates Muslim communities all over the world. Militant Islam isn't a tiny minority of otherwise goodhearted Muslims. Its a dominant strain of evil that runs rampant in a population of well over 1 billion. Messages From Mumbai: The threat of Islamo-Nazi terror remains real and urgent, and Americans must not take our safety for granted. While both the public and the president-elect focus almost exclusively on our dire economic challenges, we tend to dismiss the possibility of new terrorist attacks on American soil. An American challenges England's 'libel tourism'. [Saudi billionaire Khalid bin Mahfouz's] frenzied use of the High Court in London to silence the media began in earnest after the 9/11 attacks on America. As a defendant in lawsuits brought by families of the 9/11 victims and others against al Qaida's financiers, he tries to squash any information about his activities. The New Presumption of Transparency. "If information cannot be freely exchanged, if journalists must fear being sued over information reported in good faith on matters crucial to our defense, matters such as the financial networks supporting jihadist terror, then we cannot make sound security policy," former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy said at a recent conference on "libel lawfare." This is a useful term to describe lawsuits to suppress facts about radical Islam and terrorism. Silencing Speech: There are those members of the radical Muslim community who wish to silence their opponents via legal means. The goal is to instill fear and to create an undue fiscal burden on those who speak out against them, so that the truth about their dangerous agendas will never reach the public. Size of Islamist menace: Gallup polled more than 50,000 Muslims across 10 countries and found that, if one defines radicals as those who deemed the 9/11 attacks "completely justified", their number constitutes about 7 percent of the total population. But if one includes Muslims who considered the attacks "largely justified", their ranks jump to 13.5 percent. Adding those who deemed the attacks "somewhat justified" boosts the number of radicals to 36.6 percent. Which figure should one adopt? You Must Remember This. "We are in the process of an historical war between the World of Arrogance and the Islamic world," Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has declared, "and this war has been going on for hundreds of years." "We are not fighting so that you will offer us something," said Hussein Massawi, a former leader of Hezbollah. "We are fighting to eliminate you." "Rome will become an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe," Yunis al-Astal, a Muslim cleric and Hamas parliamentarian has pledged. Criminalizing Criticism of Islam: There are strange happenings in the world of international jurisprudence that do not bode well for the future of free speech. In an unprecedented case, a Jordanian court is prosecuting 12 Europeans in an extraterritorial attempt to silence the debate on radical Islam. The prosecutor general in Amman charged the 12 with blasphemy, demeaning Islam and Muslim feelings, and slandering and insulting the prophet Muhammad in violation of the Jordanian Penal Code. The charges are especially unusual because the alleged violations were not committed on Jordanian soil. Iran and the Problem of Evil: The world is simmering in the familiar rhetoric and actions of movements and regimes — from Hezbollah and al Qaeda to the Iranian Khomeinists and the Saudi Wahhabis — who swear to destroy us and others like us. Like their 20th-century predecessors, they openly proclaim their intentions, and carry them out whenever and wherever they can. Like our own 20th-century predecessors, we rarely take them seriously or act accordingly. Amerabia: On May 4, an ominous alarm was sounded in a Pajamas Media column by Youssef Ibrahim, a former New York Times reporter. Mr. Ibrahim is an astute critic of the Islamists' steady, tireless and increasingly effective efforts to impose — on Muslims and non-Muslims alike — the repressive theo-political-legal agenda they call Shariah law. He warned that "In the very real war on terror, a noisy squabble over 'fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here' clouds a simple truth: namely, that 'they' are here already. Indeed, Islamists are busy constructing a wing of jihad in America's backyard." Stealth Jihad or Hysteria? During the recent Tyson Chicken controversy, I published an article at FrontPage in which I argued that Tyson and the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) should not have agreed to make Eid al-Fitr a paid day off for employees at the Tyson plant in Shelbyville, Tennessee, on the grounds that it set a bad precedent for accommodation of Islamic practices at a time when the Muslim Brotherhood is pressing forward a stealth jihad agenda of trying to impose Islamic Sharia law bit by bit and make American businesses and individuals grow used to the idea that Muslims must have special accommodation. Islamic States and Thought Crimes: The Thug's Ideal. The topic of my talk was theocracy and Islamic law. Islamic governments, as ideological states founded on claims to divine revelation, must jail — or worse — those who speak out against the clerics. This was the thug's ideal: In lieu of rationally demonstrating the "truth" of his beliefs, he would criminalize me, or jail me, or perhaps kill me, to stop the spread of ideas contrary to his. In Iran, this ideal has already been achieved; there I would have been arrested, condemned, and thrown into solitary confinement. To submit to the book is to exist in their hell. It is a book that contends that the greatest act of worship an individual can aspire to is committing suicide, while taking the life of a sinner. The author has 99 names but not one of them appears on the cover. This book demands total submission by its readers. And has captured the imagination of more than a billion people. What Do Muslims Want? For many people, religious practice — striving to obey God's commandments — is a high priority, the highest, even. Yet this priority can come into conflict with the character of the society in which one lives. This is undoubtedly the case for devout Muslims who voluntarily relocate to Western nations. This invariably will compromise what many of them profess to be their ultimate priority: living in accordance to the divine laws of Allah (i.e., sharia — most of which is derived from the words and deeds of seventh-century Mohammad). Truly endangered species: The world is increasingly at risk from a far more imminent threat, one [Al] Gore and his ilk seem content to ignore. In fact, the caviling about global warming can be seen as a deflection from a menace that is at hand and that risks turning vast human populations into endangered species: the rapidly metastasizing, totalitarian ideology of our time that has come to be known as Islamofascism or, alternatively, Islamism. Most suicide bombers are Muslim. Suicide missions are not always religiously motivated, but according to Oxford University sociologist Diego Gambetta, editor of Making Sense of Suicide Missions, when religion is involved, the attackers are always Muslim. Why? The surprising answer is that Muslim suicide bombing has nothing to do with Islam or the Quran (except for two lines). It has a lot to do with sex, or, in this case, the absence of sex. What distinguishes Islam from other major religions is that it tolerates polygyny. ... It is the combination of polygyny and the promise of a large harem of virgins in heaven that motivates many young Muslim men to commit suicide bombings. "-------" Terrorism. Yesterday, Muneer Fareed, head of the Islamic Society of North America, called for John McCain to cease using the terms Muslim or Islamic in describing — Mohammedan? — terrorism. … In fact, it does no such thing. The modifiers "Islamic" and "Muslim" are critical in helping to identify the methodology, motivation, and personnel working against us. What does paint the moderate Muslim community "in a very negative way" is Fareed's evident refusal to face up to a blunt fact: people calling themselves Muslims have waged a war against people they've labeled infidels. Muslim Groups Take Issue With McCain's Vocabulary. using the word "Islamic" to describe terrorists. The Washington Times reports Islamic Society of North America's secretary general wants McCain to use something he calls "more acceptable to the Muslim community." … But McCain strategist Steve Schmidt says there will be no changes. "The reality is, the hateful ideology which underpins bin Ladenism is properly described as radical Islamic extremism. Senator McCain refers to it that way because that is what it is." Muslim call to adopt Mecca time to replace GMT. Mecca is the direction all Muslims face when they perform their daily prayers. The call was issued at a conference held in the Gulf state of Qatar under the title: Mecca, the Centre of the Earth, Theory and Practice. One geologist argued that unlike other longitudes, Mecca's was in perfect alignment to magnetic north. He said the English had imposed GMT on the rest of the world by force when Britain was a big colonial power, and it was about time that changed. The Editor says... Attention poorly educated Muslims: The magnetic poles migrate, so no point is "perfectly aligned" with them for long. Obama and Islamic Jihad. It is conventional wisdom that the United States, or the West in general, can make the global jihad problem go away by doing something that is not being done now, or by stopping doing something else. The possibility that the jihad might have arisen not as a reaction to actions of America and the West — and cannot be ended by our actions, either, with the possible exception of overwhelming military and cultural force — never seems to occur to anyone. Jihad Comes to Wall Street. If you've seen Geert Wilders's film Fitna, you may not have noticed a single headline amongst all the bombings, beheadings, and earnest expressions of Islam's eventual world domination: Halal-fund: investments for Muslims. But the investment vehicles referenced are an essential part of radical Islam's efforts to insinuate itself into Western societies in order to destroy them from within. A movie and a conversion: Europe begins to resist? Some analysts of Islam in Western Europe argue that the continent cannot escape its Eurabian fate; that the trend lines of the past half-century will continue until Muslims become a majority population and Islamic law (the Shari'a) reigns. In the wake of last week's foiled terrorist plot to blow up 10 U.S. jetliners flying between Britain and the United States, sensible people are reconsidering our government's stubborn opposition to profiling. At last! Green Light For Profiling. Nearly seven years after the 9-11 attacks, the Bush administration is finally reconsidering its opposition to one of the most effective counterterrorism weapons at its disposal. In the months ahead, FBI agents may be able to profile potential terrorists on the basis of suspicious traits and activities, including their ethnic and religious backgrounds. Those most likely to commit acts of Islamic terrorism will no longer be able to hide in plain sight. The ACLU Continues Its Onslaught. Israeli security agents and police have used kinetic interviewing for screening people at airports and security checkpoints for years with much success. In a press release the ACLU has warned that the behavior analysis screening technique could result in racial profiling. Could result? Creating public policy based on what "could result" is nonsense since in this case the ACLU insinuates bad intentions on the part of US security and law enforcement agencies. Terrorists do not share our vision of peace. We have to ask ourselves what motivates someone to perpetrate such an act: boarding an aircraft, carrying explosives, intending to kill themselves and hundreds around them. It is entirely right to ask that question. But it is vital that we do not jump to facile conclusions and clutch at easy answers. British Doctor Is Convicted in Failed Car Bombings. A jury found the doctor, Bilal Abdulla, a passenger in the Jeep Cherokee, guilty of two charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to cause explosions in three bungled car bombing attempts in Glasgow and London over 24 hours. The judge, Sir Colin Crichton Mackay, will sentence Dr. Abdulla on Wednesday [12/17/2008]. Both charges carry potential life sentences. Lost and Found: Eleven Egyptian Students Why are Middle-eastern students allowed into this country at all? Any time a bunch of them arrive in the U.S. to attend flight school, or any other schoool, and then they disappear, it is cause for alarm. It is reason enough to deport them, before they disappear again. If the decision makers at the highest levels of the federal government used common sense, and were not afraid to be politically incorrect, they wouldn't allow anyone to immigrate to this country from predominantly Muslim countries. As long as these "students" continue to come here, they should be under constant surveillance. FBI Searching For 11 Egyptian Students. Eleven Egyptian students who arrived in the United States last month are being sought by authorities after failing to turn up for an exchange program at Montana State University. The Egyptian men were among a group of 17 students who arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York from Cairo on July 29 with valid visas, according to U.S. authorities and university officials. What war on terror? FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko practically scolded us civilians when 11 Egyptian men from Cairo went missing after entering the country on education visas. The men, all in their 20's, just vanished at JFK (one of the airports of now distant 9/11 memory). "There is no reason to believe the missing students, all men around 20 years old, represent a threat," charmed Kolko. "At this point, all they have done is not show up for a scheduled academic program, and their visas have been revoked." The next day he reiterated the plea, "They pose no threat." All Missing Egyptian Students in Custody. The last two of the 11 Egyptian exchange students who failed to show up at their college program were apprehended Sunday in Richmond, Va., customs officials said. Update: Last of 11 missing Egyptian students rounded up. A nationwide search for 11 Egyptian students who failed to show up for an academic program in Montana has ended with the last two caught outside their rented apartment in Virginia, U.S. authorities said on Monday [8/14/2006]. Supporters of the Arab government-funded propaganda channel hope that acceptance in Canada will lead to more cable and satellite carriers in the U.S. picking up the incendiary network. Another Al-Jazeera Journalist Suspected of Terror Ties. A journalist for Al-Jazeera has been arrested on suspicion of being an agent of the Palestinian terror group Hamas. The journalist, Samer Allawi, Al-Jazeera's bureau chief in Afghanistan, is a Palestinian. He was apprehended by Israeli authorities as he attempted to leave the West Bank. The detention of Allawi, a major development in the media wars over the future of the Middle East, is not the first time that Israel has detained journalists from the channel. US cable operator called a 'traitor' for carrying Al Jazeera. Allan Block was accused of being 'a traitor' for adding Al Jazeera English to the lineup at his cable operation, Buckeye CableSystem, a couple of months ago. … Buckeye's March 19 launch of the controversial news network, sister channel to Arab-language Al Jazeera, prompted some 50 letters. Mosque building made simple: Satisfy the local building codes and do not make excessive noise. Oh, and don't preach anti-Semitic garbage and call for violent world revolution. Which is where an otherwise anonymous new Muslim temple in Newmarket, Ont., might have got it wrong. A type of culture clash, by the way, that is being replicated throughout Canada and most of the Western world. Happy Hajj! You're Not Invited! On the morning of February 26, 1993, Islamic militants steered a nondescript Ryder van through the winding darkness of the parking garage under the World Trade Center. They had spent years planning this moment in secret meetings at mosques and jailhouses, in rural outposts that served as paramilitary camps, and in safehouses where explosive compounds were mixed in makeshift labs. Dwelling on the tactic, never defining the enemy. Discussing the war on "terror" has been endlessly awkward. Terror — like blitzkrieg, sneak attack or even disinformation — is a tactic not an enemy. But in our politically correct era, we dwell on the tactic, never defining the enemy. Drop 500-pound bombs on his head if we must — and we must — but don't describe him as an Islamic jihadist in the age-old tradition of Islamic jihadists going back to Muhammad. Such historical precision might be hurtful and insensitive, and we wouldn't want that. Muslims face extra checks in new travel crackdown. Because these were "homegrown" Islamic terrorists, blame was rightly directed towards Canada's decades-old multiculturalism policies, which effectively encourages immigrants to stay frozen in the culture they came from instead of assimilating into Canadian society and Western values. This allowed preachers of militant Islamism — typically imams funded by Saudi oil money — to brainwash Muslims to hate the West and embrace terrorism. Their success in committing terrorist acts is in no small part the result of the actions by the millions of peace-loving fellow Muslims. First, there is not enough condemnation of their terrorist acts by the Muslim community. More important is the direct or indirect assistance terrorists receive through the silence of their fellow Muslims. It's time to stop blaming the good guys for problems in Iraq. Rethinking the Foundations of Religious Freedom. In America, the separation of church and state is assumed. It is assumed because it is a matter of rights — because individuals have the right to religious freedom, church and state must be separated. Scholars give different accounts of the extent and limits of the right, but they rarely ask why individuals possess it in the first place. But just who is a "civilian" in the age of terrorism, when militants don't wear uniforms, don't belong to regular armies and easily blend into civilian populations? Maybe Now We'll Get It. Maybe, as this terrible business in Lebanon unfolds, we'll finally get it: Guerrillas like to hide behind civilians. Muslim guerrillas take it a step further: "Civilians" are a weapon to them — as much a part of the fight as the AK-47 or RPG they carry. Those who have visited any Hezbollah installation in Lebanon over the years always remark on the fact that there are families, women and children, in and around the place. Lebanon Is Not Innocent. There is no way to fight a war without "collateral damage" to civilians unless the opposing armies agree to meet in a desert and let the superior force prevail. It certainly cannot be done when the aggressor is a terrorist army that deliberately places its headquarters, its weapons depots, its missile launchers and its staging bases in the middle of large urban centers like Beirut, or in the small villages abutting the border of its victims. Apocalyptic Muslim Jew-hatred: There are short-term reasons behind the attacks on Israel by Hezbollah and Hamas. But underlying all the geo-strategy is a solid foundation of fanatical Jew-hatred, dating back to the founding of Islam. There is literally nothing Israel or Jews can do to appease those who seek to annihilate them. Arab Majority May Not Stay Forever Silent.
