Commentary on the inauguration itself
Obama 'Whistle
Stop' train ride: The whistle stop tour ... is meant to consciously evoke images of the Lincoln
inaugural. ... The entire inaugural has been one long ad campaign to try and get people to believe that the
new president is some kind of Abraham Lincoln character.
The Editor says...
Obama's triumphal entry on the train also served as a publicity stunt
for Amtrak.
Classless to the last.
Obama's intent to remake American politics got a jolt of reality yesterday [1/20/2009] when thousands of his
supporters booed and mocked George Bush as he stepped on to the platform ... The louts were disrespecting
Obama as much as Bush, of course. On such a solemn, civic occasion where a new president was promising a
new era of bi-partisanship, the lefty loons couldn't grasp the fact that their despicable actions were giving
a lie to what their hero was saying a short time later on that same platform.
Bush
Mocked As He Arrives on Inauguration Dais. The crowd packed on the west side of the Capitol
grounds serenaded President Bush in mocking fashion when he took to the inaugural stage alongside Vice
President Dick Cheney. "Nah nah nah nah, hey hey, good-bye," a section of the crowd chanted. The
crowd packed immediately below the podium received Bush in stony silence when he took his seat on the stage
surrounding the podium where Barack Obama was scheduled to take the oath office to become the 44th president
of the United States.
They're Poor Winners,
Too. If you aren't convinced of the left's nonpareil arrogance and nastiness from observing their behavior
toward President Bush and Vice President Cheney for the past eight years, then contrast the behavior of Mr. Bush's staff
leaving office and that of Mr. Clinton's, who literally trashed the White House like juvenile delinquents.
Fast-forwarding to this week, did you see Obama supporters booing President Bush at the inauguration, singing,
"Na, na, na, na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye"? Pure class.
Inaugurations
Gone Wild. In 1801, Thomas Jefferson strolled on foot from his Washington, DC, boarding house to the
Capitol, where he was sworn in as president and offered a rousing address to his "friends and fellow-citizens"
before returning home in time for dinner. As inaugurations go, it was simplicity itself — and
the sort of ceremony of which future presidents could only dream.
Why
Did UVa Cancel Classes Only This Time? On Jan. 20, 2005, George Bush was sworn in as
president of the United States. On Jan. 20, 2009, Barack Obama [was] sworn in as the
44th president of the United States. The University of Virginia decided to suspend classes
on only one of these important days. Can you guess which one?
Sorry to be a party pooper, but I can't share this swooning Obama
hysteria. Has everyone lost their marbles? The inauguration of President Obama is
being treated like the Second Coming. The coverage is so gushing we might all drown. ... There's
no doubt that Obama is a highly charismatic and attractive personality. But what's more than a
wee bit troubling is that the swooning hysteria reflects the fact that people appear to believe that
as of today the world will be saved.
This Emperor has no clothes, it will all end in tears.
The burnt child, contrary to conventional wisdom, does not fear the fire. After the Blair experience
there is no excuse for anybody in Britain falling for Obama. Yet today, in this country, even some of
those who remained sane during the emotional spasm of the Diana aberration are pumping the air for Princess
Barack. At a time of gross economic and geopolitical instability throughout the Western world, this is
beyond irresponsibility.
Is This How the Post-Racial Obama
Administration Begins? [Scroll down] However, it was another minister —
Reverend Joseph Lowery — who used his benediction, to ask God for this: "We ask you to help
us work for that day when black will not be asked to give back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will
be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what is right." Is this how
the post-racial Obama administration begins? That someday the brown can stick around, the yellow can
remain mellow, and the white will embrace what's right? Even at the inauguration of a black president,
we are being called racist.
Hating Whitey. Prejudice
is much like the wind: Its direction changes, and the sheltered and well-situated may not sense it, but it's
always blowing on some people somewhere. Put literally, every age has its fashionable biases —
and unfashionable people. This was obvious during the presidential inauguration benediction, given by
the Reverend Joseph Lowery. While making a supplication to the Lord, he made the following
anachronistic plea: "... help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown
can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will
embrace what is right [emphasis mine]." Well, I wonder if the reverend has ever asked the Lord why
He scourged the world with white people in the first place.
Gipper 1,
Race-baiters 0. After the cultural explosion in America that celebrated this week's presidential
inauguration, could there be any doubt that this would have been the most-watched inaugural ceremony in history?
It wasn't.
The musical interlude was a sham.
The Fingers Were Live but the Music
Wasn't. It was not precisely lip-synching, but pretty close. The somber, elegiac tones before
President Obama's oath of office at the inauguration on Tuesday came from the instruments of Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman
and two colleagues. But what the millions on the Mall and watching on television heard was in fact a recording,
made two days earlier by the quartet and matched tone for tone by the musicians playing along.
Obama quartet admits faking
performance at inauguration. It's not exactly Watergate but Barack Obama's inauguration was back in the
dock today after it emerged that the quartet of classical musicians who ushered him on to the steps of the Capitol
were faking it.
Obama's illegal alien aunt
dances the night away. One of the happy ladies dancing the inaugural night away at the Ohio ball was an
illegal alien — President Barack Hussein Obama's (D) aunt. ... Despite ignoring a deportation order and
illegally collecting welfare Ms. Onyango now has a lawyer fighting for her "rights."
Why
Can't 'Eco-Conscious' Liberals Clean Up After Themselves? For decades, a consistent media theme has been
that liberals are far more concerned about the environment than conservatives. If such is the case, why did the
folks attending Barack Obama's inauguration on Tuesday treat our nation's capital like a toilet?
What Recession? The
$170 Million Inauguration. The country is in the middle of the worst economic downturn since
the Great Depression, which isn't stopping rich donors and the government from spending $170 million, or
more, on the inauguration of Barack Obama.
Missteps
in a Majestic Week: I tuned in to Wednesday's National Prayer Service at Washington National Cathedral, a historic
event that marks the end of the president's inauguration. Sitting in the front pew after a day of ceremonies and a
night of partying was our new president, flanked by his wife, Michelle, and by Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill.
But wait! Also seated in the front pew was Hillary Clinton, who was still only Obama's secretary of state nominee.
How did she rate that, while the rest of Obama's team was seated among the 3,200 invited guests?
Inaugural Missteps And
Miscalculations. This much is clear: The Capitol Police and other officials underestimated the turnout
among ticket holders. They turned down advance offers of help from volunteers and the National Guard, officials say.
And police failed to respond adequately when trouble arose. As a result, thousands of people with precious tickets to
the swearing-in didn't get anywhere near it in time for the historic moment.
Obama's first
week: The good, the bad, and the ugly. The entire inaugural was a disaster area.
The program was marked by a poem that some consider to have been the worst in inaugural history. A flat,
strangely subdued (almost dirge-like) performance by some of the world's greatest musicians turned out to be
taped. A hugely inappropriate benediction was given by the Reverend Joseph Lowrey. The huge crowd
booed and mocked the outgoing president thus insulting not only Bush but Obama. And, after a flubbed
oath of office that forced him to take it over again, a strangely uninspiring and forgettable address by the
President himself.
It Isn't Easy Being a
Saint. I suppose Barack Obama made the nation giddy when he proclaimed there were no red and
blue states, just Americans. He promised to unite us across political, racial, and religious
lines. ... So we overlooked the racialist sermonizing from Michelle Obama, Barack's occasional promises for
reparations in deed not mere word, and the odd things that a Joseph Lowery said on Inauguration Day that were
acceptable for a Civil Rights veteran but would have sent a white professor, journalist, or politician into
the Don Imus stocks for a week or two.
Purple Heart: The
inaugural-ticket victims who won't go quietly. It was only a few hours after his swearing-in that the first
great grassroots campaign of the Obama presidency commenced — only it turned out to be something slightly less
exalted than originally predicted: getting justice for the Survivors of the Purple Tunnel of Doom.
Obama inauguration crowds overwhelmed
police, panel told. Members of Congress scolded federal law enforcement officials Wednesday
[3/25/2009] over why thousands of their constituents didn't get to see Barack Obama sworn in as president
in January despite holding coveted tickets to the ceremony.
DC gets $43M
in federal cash for inaugural costs. D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty says the federal government has
reimbursed the city for all costs related to President Barack Obama's inauguration, totaling nearly
$43 million. Fenty said Monday [6/8/2009] that the city was paid back for all costs related to the
240 inaugural-related events hosted by the city from Jan. 16 to Jan. 21. He also released a
report on the city's handling of the inauguration.
How Big Was the
Crowd? After the Million Man March in 1995, Congress restricted the National Park Service from
even making estimates — a restriction that was maintained for 14 years and then quietly rescinded
this January for the Obama inauguration.
An inauguration is not an emergency
The word "emergency" is not in the Constitution, partly because the founders of this country intentionally
designed a system that reacts slowly to passing fads. Over the last several decades, the Constitution
has become more of a technicality than anything else, and the result is the massive and ill-advised spending
we see every day. If the Obama inauguration is going to be costly, let Mr. Obama pay for it from his own
very deep pockets.
Inauguration
declared 'emergency'. President Bush on Tuesday declared the District a federal emergency area,
clearing the way for the city to receive federal money to help cover the overwhelming cost of providing
security for official inauguration events. Officials said it was the first time the designation had
ever been used for anything other than a national disaster, such as a hurricane or widespread flooding.
Obama's inauguration
set to be the most expensive in US history. President Barack Obama's inauguration next week is
set to be the most expensive ever, predicted to reach over $150m (£102m). This dwarfs the $42.3m
spent on George Bush's inauguration in 2005 and the $33m spent on Bill Clinton's in 1993. Part of the
spending includes emergency funding announced by the White House on Tuesday [1/13/2009] to help with the
soaring costs. Most of this new federal funding will be to deal with the huge influx of people,
estimated 1.5 million to 2 million.
Price Tag of Obama's Inauguration:
It is believed President-elect Obama's inauguration will be the costliest in history — around
$50 million — despite the recession. President Bush has declared a state of emergency
to free up federal funds to help the district cope with the soaring cost of the event.
Reaction to Obama's inaugural address

Obama's narcissism
Hubris. Ego. Audacity. Arrogance. Stunning self-regard. These are
some of the traits observed in President Obama before the 2008 election. For almost a year,
I have been passing along warnings
and ominous observations from many other columnists about Obama's ego problem. With so much at stake,
many others are starting to pay attention to Obama's massive character flaws. Ask the people of Germany
what it's like to be ruled by a man who is intoxicated with pride.
America Under
Barack Obama. [Scroll down slowly] I try to avoid hyperbole, but I think Obama is
possibly the most dangerous and destructive president we have ever had. ... So in answer to your question,
I am beginning to think that this guy is a phony. Obama seems to have no firm principles that I can
discern that he will adhere to. His only principle is his own aggrandizement. This is a very
dangerous mindset for a president to have.
Obama going off the deep end. Obama sees
himself as the greatest man to be president in all time. He truly believes it when he said "we are the ones
we have been waiting for," and "this is the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began
to heal." He believes that he can do anything he pleases and the people will love him for it. Obama
plans to radically transform this country and go down in history as, in his mind, the greatest ever. Obama
is clearly disconnected from reality.
Strikingly
Unpresidential. President Barack Obama doesn't deserve the reputation he's had for his style
and temperament and for being gracious, civil, bipartisan and post-racial. He is often ungracious,
uncivil, hyper-partisan, race-oriented and vindictive. He mocks and ridicules almost for sport.
More than any president in my memory, he often does not comport himself presidentially.
Liberalomania:
Don't Drink the Water in D.C. Like a cry for help, President Obama consistently shows signs
of liberalomania. The first sign is his limitless use of the blame game. Most of the problems
ailing Americans today are still blamed on the Bush administration. ... Secondly, Obama shows obvious
signs of narcissism and appears to experience delusions of grandeur. Although sufferers of both
liberalism and liberalomania are often ideologues of a utopian society, the nature of Obama's vision
is especially telling. He projects himself as the one to bring about this utopia, and casts
himself as the supreme president of the world.
The President Who
Won't Grow Up. Everything I need to know about Barack Obama I learned as a Cub Scout den
leader. ... In Barack Obama, I believe we are seeing the return of the little boy as president. As a
former Cub Scout den leader, I spent a lot of time around boys. It struck me that the president exhibits
classic little boy behavior.
President Barack Obama: Professional Hothouse
Flower. As regards defining personality traits, Barack Obama's chief attribute will undoubtedly go
down as pathological narcissism. ... Before assuming the US presidency, Obama was protected like the elusive
unicorn; or a fragrant holy cow; or King Arthur's magic albino stag; or some other insufferably coddled sacred
beast.
Obama's Revenge: Who writes two
memoirs about himself before the age of 45? My own speculation is that it could be no one but a
narcissist. ... A lot of people have some degree of narcissism, which is characterized by grandiosity, an
unquenchable need for admiration, unhealthy self-absorption, dependence on the affirmation of others, and
also a lack of empathy, which is hidden by both personal charm and the kind of earnest language that
pretends to "feel your pain." Or he could be a malignant narcissist, which psychiatrist Dr. Otto
Kernberg, a legendary leader in thought disorders, compares to a narcissist on steroids. This variety
involves paranoid traits (think of Obama's thin-skinned, quasi-hysterical reactions to Rush Limbaugh and
Sarah Palin), and ego-syntonic aggression, which means the person is perfectly in-sync with people who
have the courage he lacks to lash out.
Narcissistic Obama and Cult of Personality.
Despite the fact that the record of his accomplishments is made up mostly of his empty or unfulfilled promises, Obama is
praised, by most of those who control what the American public is allowed see on TV news, as the Savior and Messiah, and
is granted unequivocal trust of his presumed righteousness and infallibility. This bears striking similarity of the
classic example of the cult of personality that Stalin commanded in the Soviet Union until his death in 1953.
The Making of a Fuehrer: [Obama] is not a
genius. In fact he is quite ignorant on most important subjects. Barack Obama is a narcissist.
Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love, also believes, "Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist."
Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism. He understands narcissism and describes the inner mind of a
narcissist like no other person. When he talks about narcissism everyone listens. Vaknin says that
Obama's language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, dearest and nearest suggest that
the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).
Obama as God's Instrument: I first
endeavored to write this essay in order to validate for myself what I believed — from an inescapably
finite vantage point — to be a most salient principle behind God's unsearchable providence. The
principle I speak of is embodied in the Almighty's own caveat that he aims to exalt those who humble
themselves, and humble those who exalt themselves.
Murphy's Law, the Peter Principle
and Barack Obama. Barack Obama was conceived out of wedlock to an eighteen year-old girl, who was herself the
product of non-religious, rebellious parents, intent on unraveling the fabric of WASP America. Stanley Ann Dunham met
Barack Obama Sr., an already-married African Muslim man, in a Russian language class at the University of Hawaii in her
very first year there. According to President Obama's memoir, his biological father married his mother about three
months into the pregnancy, even though he already had a wife and children on his home continent. Hence, very shortly,
the father abandoned the new mother and her child to seek his own fortune and yet another wife-to-be at Harvard.
Obama Misreads His Mandate. President
Barack Obama's honeymoon period seems to have ended quickly. That's because Mr. Obama doesn't grasp the essentials of
presidential leadership. Rather than making a compelling case for his economic policies, he has resorted to curt
rebuffs, such as telling House Republican whip Eric Cantor, "I won." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the same
thing the same day: "We won the election; we wrote the [stimulus] bill." This is the trope of a party that has
lost its ability to make an argument.
The Arrogance of Barack Obama. The examples of
President Obama's overweening sense of pride, hubris and superiority are, in fact, legion.
Certainly a man who writes his autobiography twice by the age of forty-three, who makes no secret
of his intention to be the President of the United States while he is a neighborhood agitator in Chicago, and, later, as an
Illinois state senator is not a model of modesty, humility and self-effacement. Moreover, his short tenure in the
U.S. Senate was marked by continued exaggerations of his experience and the supposed jurisprudential acumen he demonstrated
as a lecturer at the University of Chicago School of Law.
The Audacity of the
Obamas: Great leaders do not say after just two weeks on the job that they are tired of
being in their office. Great leaders do not complain and they certainly do not have wives that joke
about being paroled from living in a mansion. ... Throughout the campaign, it was abundantly clear the Obamas
were completely out of touch with Middle America. Now that they "won," they continue to exhibit
arrogance beyond comprehension.
Barry Soetoro: Profiles in Chaos. It
takes a bit of narcissism to wake up in the morning and think: "Hey, I really ought to be leader of the free
world". Coming to such a conclusion in the fourth grade is, to say the least, ambitious. Having some
narcissistic traits does not a narcissist make. However, according to the Encyclopedia of Mental Disorders,
grandiosity is the most important single trait in narcissism. Could they mean something along the lines of
creating the "Office of the President Elect" and grand speeches in Germany? Obama's Messianic image of
himself? This is disturbingly common among cult leaders including David Koresh who had "messiah" printed
on his business cards.
Funk & Wagnall's Standard Dictionary of the English Language
1949 edition, page 829.
Obama's
Hubris Is Showing. Hubris is the word that comes to mind as I listen to President Obama
lay out his plan to rescue the economy, create 4 million jobs, halve the deficit in four years,
and give quality health care to every American. The man has big ambitions and an even bigger ego.
It has been one of the most troubling aspects of his character as it has emerged on the national scene in the
last two years. ... No one — no matter how talented — could accomplish a fraction of
what Obama has planned in a good economy, much less the weakened one we have right now. Worse, he
thinks he can do this simply by taxing the rich, a fantasy only someone who knows nothing about human
behavior, much less the U.S. tax system, could possibly believe.
Barack Obama — Narcissist or Merely Narcissistic?
Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist. Granted, only a qualified mental health diagnostician can determine whether
someone suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and this, following lengthy tests and personal interviews.
But, in the absence of access to Barack Obama, one has to rely on his overt performance and on testimonies by his closest,
nearest and dearest. ... In general, the narcissist always prefers show-off to substance. One of the most effective
methods of exposing a narcissist is by trying to delve deeper. The narcissist is shallow, a pond pretending to be an
ocean. He likes to think of himself as a Renaissance man, a Jack of all trades. The narcissist never admits to
ignorance in any field — yet, typically, he is ignorant of them all. It is surprisingly easy to penetrate the gloss
and the veneer of the narcissist's self-proclaimed omniscience.
Barack
Obama bets the farm in $4 trillion poker game. One of the most seductive elements of Barack
Obama's ascent to the White House was his unshakeable conviction that he was being called upon, at a time of
epochal peril, to bend the arc of history America's way. ... Only a man who frequently compares himself to
America's greatest President, Abraham Lincoln, would declare that when he was elected, "the rise of the
oceans will begin to slow".
Forcing Out Obama: There will
always be true believers for whom reality never intrudes, but it has not escaped anyone's attention that even
the worshipful media is beginning to ask why things are going so badly, so fast, and beginning to blame
Obama. The answer for the swift decline is that Obama is a pathological narcissist and dedicated
socialist who has surrounded himself for the most part with former Clinton operatives. Obama is,
plainly speaking, a liar. Increasingly, the adoration heaped upon him by his supporters is beginning to
resemble the same as that in the 1930s which led the Germans down the path to war, ruin, and the abomination
of the Holocaust.
Obama's
Indelicate Exposure. As comfortable as the president may look on the CBS show "60 Minutes,"
with Jay Leno or in a primetime press conference, he's spending valuable emotional and intellectual capital
with the relentless exposure in the modern media. Confident and cool, he's nevertheless beginning to
look a lot like a man afflicted with the hubris of show biz.
Obama the Great?
President Obama was compared favorably to Alexander the Great on Wednesday [3/25/2009] at a White House reception
honoring Greek Independence Day. The Greek Orthodox Church in America said the president should follow
the example of the ancient military conqueror to help solve some of Greece's problems. "I will tell
Michelle that I've been compared to Alexander the Great," the president told 200 guests, many of them
Greek-Americans from Chicago.
Obama
believes in his own exceptionalism. All politicians have egos, and there have been rapid rises
before (Franklin Pierce comes to mind), but Obama's iconoclastic approach belies more than just ambition.
Consider how he ran for president. Political convention holds that a candidate must never repeat the rumors
about himself. Obama started a Web site that chronicled the most outrageous ones and provided his answers to
some of the charges. National politicians — especially black ones — aren't supposed
to talk about race, but Obama talked at length about race and politics, including his America-damning pastor
of 20 years.
Obama's
Narcissism: After he sat listening to a 52-minute tirade about America the Fascist
Imperialist tyranny, a droll Barack Obama told the media that the rant by Nicaragua's Daniel C.
Ortega "wasn't about me." No, it wasn't. It was about America which evidently didn't
concern the narcissistic U. S. president since it involved John F. Kennedy, not he. And
it did not occur to him to defend America since he himself wasn't named: thus the narcissism.
Also the lack of patriotism.
Obama's
liberal arrogance will be his undoing. The most remarkable, or certainly the least remarked on,
aspect of Barack Obama's first 100 days has been the infectious arrogance of his presidency. There's
no denying that this is liberalism's greatest opportunity for wish fulfillment since at least 1964. But
to listen to Democrats, the only check on their ambition is the limits of their imaginations.
Obamamania or overkill? He is the most photographed man on
the planet. And, just in case we had forgotten that, the White House has issued a new series of photographs
to commemorate Barack Obama's 100 days in office today. One hundred photographs for 100 days would
have been enough for anyone — but, just to drive the point home, the White House has decided to include
three times that number in the set.
No Class. I've never thought
much of Barack Obama's policies, and I'm starting not to think much of him as a human being. ... It would be
interesting to know how much of his own money Barack Obama has given to veterans' charities over the
years. I'd hazard a guess: zero.
Gullible's Travels.
I am Barry Gullible and I am King of the most powerful nation in the world: the United States of America.
Although I appear to be the same size as my Lilliputian American countrymen, I am not, for I tower above them
in greatness and stature.
But Enough About Me.
Doesn't Obama's self-regard sometimes seem greater than his regard for the position he occupies? Does he
understand that the office of the presidency is bigger — much bigger — than
he is? Or does Obama think of the presidency primarily as a vessel through which to exercise his
political gifts and pursue his personal achievements?
Narcissus And
Echo: Obama And The Mainstream Media. It is troubling that our president is a pathological
narcissist caught up in the thought patterns of Darwin, Marx, and Alinsky. Even more troubling is the
fact that the Mainstream Media, suffering from an Obama-inspired narcosis, shirks its duty, refusing to
publish or even explore any aspect of Obama's dark side.
Where's the Mockery of Joe 'Dubya'
Biden? Considering the money made by shows like The Colbert Report, The Daily Show,
and Saturday Night Live off of this punch line-providing caricature, one would think they'd leap at the
opportunity to draw a similar one of Vice President Joe Biden, who is a gaffe factory just a few notches below
Dan Quayle. But, perhaps because Biden doesn't fit the stereotype of a dumb politician (i.e., he's not an
intellectually backward social conservative Republican), he remains unscathed from his missteps. A quick look
at the most recent gaffe indicates comedians will have growing amounts of material delivered to the desk.
An Unhealthy Infatuation With Obama.
[Scroll down slowly] The infatuation matters because Obama's ambitions are so grand. He wants to expand health
care subsidies, tightly control energy use and overhaul immigration. He envisions the greatest growth of government
since Lyndon Johnson. ... Are his proposals practical, even if desirable? Maybe they're neither. What might be
unintended consequences? All "reforms" do not succeed; some cause more problems than they solve. Johnson's
economic policies, inherited from Kennedy, proved disastrous; they led to the 1970s' stagflation. The "war on
poverty" failed. The press should not be hostile, but it ought to be skeptical. Mostly, it isn't.
Memo
to Obama attack dog Robert Gibbs: stop pooping on our lawn. Insulting the British print media. Big
mistake. We know we're not angels. We know we can go over the top sometimes. But unfortunately that's a
much bigger problem for you than it is for us. You see, while a lot of your mainstream media will hold fire on stories
which they think may reflect poorly on your wondrous Obamamessiah — what his half-brother has been up to,
say — we have fewer qualms about telling it like it is. So far, you've had a pretty easy ride. The
Obama Kool Aid has proved almost as popular beverage in Britain as it is in the US. But just you wait till we start
showing our teeth.
Establishment
press channels Team Obama. [Scroll down] NBC isn't exactly credible anymore. It's hard to shoot
straight with a parent company looking to milk the administration through favorable regulations and a news department that
has gone hard Left to try to shore up poor ratings. But across the television spectrum (except FOX News) and in the
rivers of newsprint gushing forth from the old-guard papers, the same White House-approved story took shape.
White House reporters laugh an average of ten times per briefing.
Robert Gibbs gets a lot of laughs in his briefings.
The United States is facing its biggest financial crisis in ages. North Korea is blowing up nukes. Dick Cheney
warns us of the "dangers that have not gone away." And there are still wars raging in Afghanistan and Iraq. But
over in the White House press briefing room, it's a veritable laugh riot.
Mega-egos. [Obama's] inflated self-image
has induced me and others to classify him as a narcissist. But is he instead a Rooseveltian mega-ego? I
don't think it matters. In either case, the self-idolizing overconfidence leads to a reckless irresponsibility
that resembles a toddler in control of a bulldozer.
The Prism of Obama.
There is one thing about Barack Obama's speech in Cairo that critics and supporters can agree on: It was vintage
Obama. ... It was fundamentally about him. It's becoming a cliché to say that Obama is always
campaigning — running for a job he already has. But that may put the cart before the horse.
Just as plausibly, Obama is simply being Obama, a man hardwired to see the world as a stage built just for him, who can
charm his way out of tight spots so well...
The Narcissist in Chief.
Incredibly, there are Obamanutz among us who honestly don't realize that Barack Obama is a narcissist of the
worst kind. Most people erroneously presume that narcissism is something akin to egomania or an unusually
high sense of self-esteem. The truth is the reverse. Narcissists suffer from self-loathing, not
too much self-love. It takes a bit of narcissism to wake up in the morning and think, "Hey, I really
ought to be leader of the free world." Coming to such a conclusion in the fourth grade is, to say the
least, ambitious. Having some narcissistic traits does not a narcissist make. However,
according to the Encyclopedia of Mental Disorders, grandiosity is the most important single trait
in narcissism. Obama's grandiosity is striking.
Do You Recognize
Barack Obama in These Texts? Narcissists (and, often, by contagion, their unfortunate victims)
don't talk, or communicate. They fend off. They hide and evade and avoid and disguise. In
their planet of capricious and arbitrary unpredictability, of shifting semiotic and semantic
dunes — they perfect the ability to say nothing in lengthy, Castro-like speeches.
Obama's biggest
character flaw: They've got his number, all the political con artists around the world.
For a little balloon-pumping flattery Obama will sell out American national security interests —
not to mention those of our allies. Obama's "historic" Epistle to the Muslims, delivered last month at
Cairo's Al Azhar University (an international center for Islamist propaganda) was not really intended to make
a billion Muslims fall down at his feet. No, the main goal of all those grand gestures is to make Obama
feel better about himself. That's the key to his character.
Our Sophist-in-Chief.
There are, I think, several things to say about all this. The first is that what is most tired, old,
and worn out is Obama's lazy rhetorical ploy. He relies on a few stock, and by now hackneyed, phrases
to substitute for a serious engagement with issues. Second, President Obama's words reinforce the
impression some of us have that his most dangerous personal characteristic is his other-worldly self-regard.
He seems to believe he is unlike, and better than, any others who have come before him. He sees himself
as a man of awe-inspiring intellectual honesty, a mind rinsed off of prejudice and bias. While the rest
of the country is engaged in petty and trivial fights in political sand-boxes, Obama is America's playground
attendant, teaching the rest of us how to act right and think right. It is all rather too much.
Pot calls kettle black:
Obama notes lack of humility among
bankers. President Barack Obama says he sees a lack of humility among leaders of the financial
community. While noting that some of the most powerful U.S. banks had repaid federal bailout money, Obama
said: "What you haven't seen (in the financial sector) is a change in culture, a certain humility where
they kind of step back and say gosh, you know, we really messed things up."

Obama's revealing
body language. I am stunned that the official White House Blog published this picture and that
it is in the public domain. ... So who is compassionate? And who is so self-involved and arrogant that
he is oblivious?
First Brat: It's All About Him.
[President Obama] has all the attributes of a brat. He wants all the attention he can get. He doesn't take
criticism well. He is full of bravado and false promises. He keeps reminding everyone that he is the President
as if the idea surprises even himself. Or as a reminder that he does, indeed, hold a great deal of power, ceded to
him by the American people. There's no real sense of humility about him.
An American Socrates and Other Myths.
What is most remarkable, and in some ways most unsettling, is that President Obama seems to believe all this. Even
as he has, in the span of eight months, lost more support than any president before him, he continues to view himself in
almost mythical terms.
Of Me I Sing.
In every one of the Emperor Hussein's speeches, not only does the song remain the same, so do the words.
I want you to do this. I am going to force you to do that. I will not allow
you to do whatever. Not since Thomas Friedman got his column at the New York Times has anyone so abused
the first-person singular.
Is Obama a Narcissist? [Scroll
down slowly] As an adult, Obama sought out other people who reinforced and hardened this world view: black
nationalists, like Rev. Wright; 60's terrorists, such as Bill Ayers; wife Michelle, who never felt pride in this country,
regardless of a Princeton education, cushy attorney jobs, and a million dollar mansion. Chillingly, some of these
people, like Rev. Wright, anointed Obama a messiah, which may have only magnified Obama's false pride and delusions of
grandeur. Obama could have gone down one of two roads. One was to face the truth about his life, regardless
of the shame, hurt, and grief this would evoke. But Obama chose another path, the one that allowed him to save
face; he made the personal political.
Obama's Speeches —
Obama Mentions Himself Nearly 1,200 Times! Obama loves to hear himself talk — about
himself. In just 41 speeches so this year, not including this week's big speech at the United Nations,
Obama has talked about himself nearly 1,200 times — 1,198 to be exact. And that just includes
34 weekly addresses and his seven major speeches. Count the hundreds of other public speeches and he'd
be off the charts.
Sympathy for the Devil.
What worries me the most about Obama is this: the part of him that should want to shield us from harm
seems chillingly absent. The economy is tanking — Obama laughs. We are accumulating
crippling debt — he and the other Democrats go on a spending spree. Millions take to the
street for a peaceful 9/12 march. He doesn't notice. We oppose the government controlling our
lives, especially health care, but he rams legislation down our throats anyway. Our allies have started
to realize that Obama doesn't care about them either.
The Limits of Egomania. Chicago
is out of the Olympics bidding process — in the first round. Why did Obama invest so much personal capital and time
for this? Well, he simply can't help himself. ... It's also another reminder that, apparently, there isn't anyone
influential enough in the White House to keep the president from embarrassing himself. No one to say, "Enough with
the talk shows."
Olympic-Sized Ego. Obama's belief in
international institutions is quite typical of liberalism, but what gives his approach a twist is the additional belief
that the power of his sheer awesomeness alone will convince other nations to remake the world in accordance with his
administration's goals.
Olympic Gold for
Narcissism. In the Niagara of words spoken and written about the Obamas' trip to Copenhagen, too
few have been devoted to the words they spoke there. ... Both Obamas gave heartfelt speeches about ... themselves.
Although the working of the committee's mind is murky, it could reasonably have rejected Chicago's bid for the 2016 games
on aesthetic grounds — unless narcissism has suddenly become an Olympic sport.
Half a president. President Obama
apparently wants to do only half of his job — the part that is the most fun. ... The Presidency of the United
States to Mr. Obama is nothing more than a stage so he, pre-ordained by destiny, can act as head of state for the
world. ... It appears President Obama also believes as the world head of state he can, by sheer force of his will,
charm and persuasion convince the most brutal of global adversaries to live in peace.
Obama the Player. Like all
players, Obama cares only for himself. 'It's not about me,' he says. But when speaking before the UN,
Obama asked, "those who question the character and cause of my nation" to merely, "look at the concrete actions
that we have taken in just nine months." As if the greatness of America is embodied in the Obama
Administration? Even if that's true, it still shows that Obama himself is his own proof.
Compare and Contrast.
Obama seeks to place himself in the headlines of newspapers and to lead the television news broadcasts on a
daily basis, achieving an omnipresence unprecedented in American politics. He has given scores of speeches,
each heralded to be of great consequence to the nation and the world. He has staked much of his presidential
power on the sheer force of his personality, giving little consideration to the sustainability of such a
strategy or whether so much narcissistic pageantry is becoming to a national leader. His public pronouncements
are astonishingly self-absorbed: to take one example, in their speeches to the International Olympic Committee
in Copenhagen, the First Couple used the first-person pronoun 70 times in 89 sentences.
Obama's bootlicking
NEA chairman. Where are the checks and balances when you are surrounded by people who are
enthralled with you and covered by a infatuated media? America does not need an ego-driven Presdient
who is considered — by himself, as well as others — to be infallible.
Narcissistic Rage
in the White House. [Scroll down] Obama is far and away the biggest and most naïve
narcissist in living memory to occupy the White House. ... But even if Obama is defeated in 2012, he
will just turn into an angrier version of Al Gore and Jimmy Carter. He will haunt the
political future of this country as long as he is alive, because that famished ego never gets
enough. Malignant narcissism often gets worse over time.
An O-Care Victory Will
Make Him More Narcissistic. Narcissists have a problem with reality. They are
absolutists of a kind, and their absolute ideal is themselves. So a defeat makes them feel utterly
enraged because it strengthens their gnawing self-doubts... but victory supports their messianic self-image.
When Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize that in a way made him the laughingstock even of the international Left,
he snapped it up without a second thought. He just thinks he deserves it. Just think about that
for a second. What kind of a man gets a Nobel Peace Prize on the strength of no accomplishments,
and accepts it as his just due without a second thought? Obama.
Two-Time
Grammy Award winner Obama. Everyone needs to have a healthy ego if they assume they have the
experience and competency to be president of the United States. But that ego needs to be coupled with
a tinge of humility. And it helps to make a distinction between two forms of egomania, given the
president's admitted lack of experience, which is even more obvious now.
Anti-Obama,
Pro-America. President Obama chose not to travel to Germany for the 20th anniversary of the fall
of the Berlin Wall. Instead, he graced the occasion with a video address. He didn't have time in his
two-and-a-half minutes to mention Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher or Pope John Paul II. But
somehow he did find time to mention ... Barack Obama.
Obama's Narcissism Will
Nauseate — Eventually. It's undeniable that one factor in Barack Obama's victory
last year was his smooth demeanor, particularly when contrasted with the aged and seemingly crotchety John
McCain. On the reverse side of the political spectrum, I doubt Sarah Palin would garner the same
following among men were she comparable to, say, Dianne Feinstein in appearance. But Americans
don't like arrogant schmucks, either.
Obama's Obvious
Disdain. President Obama is a man of breathtaking self-regard and self-absorption. As many
have noted, he can hardly give a speech without eulogizing himself and intimating that his Presidency marks a
watershed in American, if not world history. In the same fashion, he seems to take a certain
malicious — one might even say, childish — pleasure in humiliating his
rivals and underlings.
Health Care Reform
Vaporizes Obama Presidency. Obama's ego and self-absorption apparently required him to be on
stage all the time. According to CBS News, there were only 21 days in his first year where Obama
did not make at least one public appearance. The statistics from CBS were amazing: 411 speeches,
comments, and remarks — of which 52 were on VaporCare. Obama gave 158 interviews, visited
58 U.S. cities and 21 foreign nations, took 160 flights on Air Force One, 193 flights on Marine One,
etc., etc. In short, it was all Obama, all the time.
Never Laugh at a Narcissist.
Narcissists are high maintenance creatures with little hope of changing. The personality disorder is
baked into them. Barack Obama shows the thin skinned nature of the narcissist in his responses to
criticism. Narcissists also have no intestinal fortitude for ridicule. Not only does Barack Obama
lash out at critics, he is entirely devoid of the kind of self deprecating humor that can be so endearing in
people in power.
Obama and the Copenhagen
Syndrome. [Scroll down slowly] Americans still generally like Mr. Obama, or at least they'd like
to like him. It's the $12 trillion deficit and Rube Goldberg health schemes that rub them wrong.
So what's Copenhagen Syndrome? It is a belief in your own miracles. It is thinking that those who crowned
you king actually knew what they were doing.
Obama's loose grip on
reality: Mr. Obama seems unaware that he is part of the problem. The president credited
Scott Brown's historic Senate-race victory in Massachusetts last week to the same voter frustration that swept
him into office in 2008. The glitch in that worldview is that Mr. Brown ran explicitly against the
Obama agenda.
Obama takes voters for granted.
Don't Call Us. We'll Call You.
No one loves Barack Obama more than the District of Columbia. This goes without saying. During the 2008
presidential election, the nation's capital delivered all 142 precincts to the president, which amounted to a
whopping 93 percent support. So when the city council decided to formally invite Obama to a reception
in his honor, you'd imagine the chances of his showing up would be fairly reasonable. Think again.
The Obamarang: Obama is a
narcissist, who believes that his reality is our reality, that his rules are our rules. If the king, the
autocrat, the heart-throb, the prophet, or the messiah says something is true, then facts and reality adjust
accordingly. Facts and corrections are boring. And if confronted with contrary evidence, the
self-infatuated simply smiles with the assurance that the problem is others', not his.
Do Democrats Lack a
Conscience? It is not just the dichotomy of Obama's words versus his lifestyle that bear out
the hypocrisy of his character and his soul (or lack thereof). It is the arrogance on display since the
day he was inaugurated that is most astounding. It is the self-entitlement, the "I won," the belief that
"the big difference here and in '94 was you got me," and the egocentric narcissism that is not only disgusting
to watch, but has additionally resulted in policies detrimental to America.
Buried wearing an Obama
T-Shirt? It's all about him. There is nothing wrong with a president having self-confidence.
We demand that in our leaders. But stuff like this — and his constant, annoying use of the
pronoun "I" — reveal a man so in love with his supposed abilities and intellect that even when the
people tell him he's on the wrong track (as they did in the Massachusetts senate race), he refuses to
acknowledge it and, indeed, turns the message into a self-referencing verification of his own election.
Surviving the King and Queen of Sulk.
It's President's Day in the USA, and in faraway Jakarta, a silly statue of Barack Obama has been booted out of a
public park to be re-planted at a school he may have once attended. Ron Mullers, whose idea it was as
chairman of the Friends of Obama foundation to erect the statue, is now playing down the fact that the bronze
effigy was hurriedly booted out of the park and sent over to the school Obama allegedly attended from 1967-1971 as
Barry Soetoro.
Obama Believes He Has the Secret Blueprint to
the Universe. There must be a simple explanation for President Obama's stubborn refusal to admit
mistakes or change his failed far-left policies. ... In a nutshell, what Obama did his first year was rampantly
spend taxpayer money to "solve" our financial woes by staggering government investment. Pointedly, Barack
is spending borrowed money, to be repaid later, to solve current problems. This controversial fiscal
policy is called "Keynesian Economics."
Obama Unmasked: Like
many others, I have watched Barack Obama quite closely for much of the last two years. And I'm not sure I've
ever seen him more agitated and condescending. He is, in fact, imperious. One can tell he is used to
being coddled for much of his life. He's used to being referred to as the "Black Jesus" by his aides. He's
used to being told he's God's gift to humanity. He's been told those things and he's internalized them.
Obama's Malignant
Narcissism: I don't think we've had this extreme and radical a president ever before in
American history. Lincoln, Wilson and FDR took radical actions, but only at a time of huge national
crises. We don't have a national crisis today. Obama is our national crisis. Obama
is going for the "nuclear option" to force very bad and very toxic medicine down our throats. ... By
choosing the "nuclear option" Obama is demonstrating do-or-die fanaticism. This makes for
great TV football, but it's very dangerous for the man in the biggest power seat in the world.
Health
Care Is Obama's Gateway Drug. With Barack Obama, his rhetoric isn't the reality. The
reality of his current message on health care is actually this: bail out my presidency because I'm too
big to fail. In rhetoric, there is what is said and what is meant. Obama publicly says his health
care reforms must pass to save money and save those at risk. But what he privately admits to
Democrats — whose arms he is twisting to vote for reforms the public hates — is that his
bill must pass by any means necessary to save his presidency.
Gloomy
Obama would rather be a victim than leader. People are noticing how little President Obama seems
to enjoy his job. The president's two main emotions on display are regret and indignation. He's either
lecturing about the problems facing the country in a slightly patronizing tone or expressing his disgust with
someone who won't take his lesson to heart.
O's ego booster
shot. Finally exposed was the Holy Grail of the ruthless quest. It was so our Narcissist-In-Chief
could claim another notch on history's belt. Don't think for a second the whole last year was about reducing
the deficit or bending the cost curve. Nor was it ever really about helping Americans who need better medical
care. A handful of those poor souls were there again yesterday, human props for his show. As he
smugly read the roster of predecessors who tried and failed, from T.R. to Bill and Hillary, there was no
pretense of modesty. This was about him.
Confronting Obama's Messiah
complex. Seemingly intoxicated by Congress's endorsement of his health care legislation,
President Barack Obama appears to have been overcome by a Messiah complex. His actions relating to the
Middle East during recent weeks oblige us to face realities about our "unshakable" alliance with the United
States.
Thanks For What? Rather
than protesting the greatest expansion of government in U.S. history, Tea Party attendees should be thanking Big
Government for all it's done. At least, that's what President Obama thinks.
Humor vs. Contempt: Obama
and the Question of Character. [Scroll down slowly] Obama's modus operandi excels in the
deployment of contempt. ... [I]n some ways Obama's habitual expression of contempt is the most alarming
component of his style of governing. Together with his evident self-infatuation and notorious sensitivity
to criticism, it bespeaks a character that is volatile, heedless, and disengaged from the palpable realities
faced by the people he represents.
Obama is Kicking the Dog.
Barack Obama has taken up the fine art of "kicking the dog," which is a narcissistic practice where a person
in authority passes blame along to the lowest level, where, for lack of a fall guy, the dog ends up getting
kicked. Obama claims that the buck stops with him, yet the president habitually avoids blame by pointing
the finger of accusation at animate people and inanimate objects, which translates into presidential "dog-kicking."
Obama has proven to be a master blamer and finger-pointer. In fact, Obama takes finger-pointing to a whole
new level.
America's Death by Professor.
Where professors rule, life is cruel. That is the bottom line for the average American in this, the
transformative age of the president the New York Times and Washington Post has called "Professor" Obama, who
"schools" the ignorant at home and abroad. Never before have so many with so little humility gathered
together in our government, each believing he "is the smartest guy in the room."
Obama, the
Thin-Skinned President. The president's instincts are by now obvious to all: deflect
blame, point fingers, and lash out at others, most especially his predecessor. We know from
press reports that the strategy for the Democrats in 2010, two years after Obama was elected president,
is to — you guessed it — blame George W. Bush. What explains all this
is hard to know. But it's clear he has adopted an image of himself as something rare and remarkable,
a historic figure of almost super-human abilities.
King Barack
the Verbose. [Scroll down] Tim Flannery, the Aussie global warm-monger who chaired the
Copenhagen climate circus a few months back, announces with a straight face that "we're trying to act as a
species to regulate the atmosphere." Never mind anything so footling as the incoming tides, but the
very atmosphere! How do you do that? Well, first, take one extremely large check. Next,
add several extra zeroes to it. Then, toss it out the window. "He whom heaven, earth, and sea
obey by eternal laws"? Hah! That's chickenfeed compared to the way things are gonna be once
heaven, earth, and sea are forced to submit to a transnational micro-regulatory regime.
Obama Plays the Credit Card.
[Scroll down] Ronald Reagan, self-consciously playing off Truman, put a conspicuous plaque on his desk
as well. It said: "There is no limit to what you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the
credit." Judging by Barack Obama's press conference remarks about the Louisiana oil spill, he has
fashioned the obverse slogan: "There is no limit to the credit you can get if you don't care who did
the accomplishing."
Arrogance in the Executive.
There is no surer sign of weakness and insecurity than the repeated assertion of your own power and authority.
This truth has somehow eluded Barack Obama. Hence the unending (and off-putting) self-puffery in his recent
presidential press conference. Again and again, the president felt obliged to remind us of the centrality
of his own position in responding to the Gulf oil spill, as if this would counteract the horrible pictures of
thousands of gallons of oil gushing out of the ocean floor.
Narcissist in Chief?
[Scroll down slowly] Obama accepts the notion that he is the messiah — that he and he alone can fix this country and, for
that matter, the world. If ever there was an exaggerated achievement without commensurate accomplishment,
the Nobel Peace Prize given to Obama would be it. He expects to be recognized as superior even when he
has achieved nothing positive to show it. He ignores the evidence about global warming and man's alleged
interference because this simply does not comply with his demands — details be damned. There
are no substantive examples of his school achievements. His portfolio is razor-thin, and there is evidence
that he did not author his own books, yet he rides on the crest of all-consuming power and privilege.
A Shrink Asks:
What's Wrong with Obama? Obama's odd mannerisms intrigue a psychotherapist like me. He
also presents a serious diagnostic challenge. ... He doesn't fit easily into any diagnostic category.
Many people attribute Obama's oddness to his narcissism. True, Obama has a gargantuan ego, and he is
notoriously thin-skinned. Yet a personality disorder like narcissism does not explain Obama's
strangeness: his giggling while being asked about the economy; his continuing a shout-out rather than
announcing the Ft. Hood shootings; or his vacations, golfing, partying and fundraising during the calamitous
oil spill.
This job, too, is beneath
Obama. [Scroll down] It is hard to imagine Obama wandering along to watch a Memorial Day or
Fourth of July parade until the job required him to. That's not to say he's un-American or anti-American,
but merely that he's beyond all that. Way beyond. He's the first president to give off the pronounced
whiff that he's condescending to the job — that it's really too small for him, and he's just killing
time until something more commensurate with his stature comes along.
Barack Obama's Body Language.
Psychologists say more communication takes place non-verbally than verbally. Consider, for example,
Barack Obama's body language. Probably more than anyone I've ever seen, he literally looks down his
nose as he speaks. He physically lifts his chin and looks down his nose at his audience or the camera.
It's not something he does on all occasions. It's most noticeable during commencement speeches and
similar events.
The
Left Wanted Barack Obama, and They Got Him — Warts and All. [Scroll down] And
we all know how well Obama deals with criticism. Whatever you might want to say about his predecessor,
George W. Bush was able to take his lumps. If he complained about how the press treated him, he
did it privately and no one tattled on him. Obama? Not so much. Even the teensiest bit of
publicly uttered disapproval or disagreement of his agenda gets his knickers in a twist. He becomes
self-defensive, testy, and downright snippy.
Obama & the Eighty-One Percent True
Believers. [Scroll down] Consider the extraordinary self-absorption and selfishness
of typical liberal politicians. Of Clinton's decision to use Monica Lewinsky as a plaything, or
Hillary's decision to sacrifice everything human upon the alter of power. Consider Al Gore's
selfish decision to defy the 2000 election. But is Obama most selfish of all? Consider — he
visited his own half-brother in Kenya, living off a dollar a month in a plywood shanty-town. And
the millionaire senator, while boasting in speeches of "being my brother's keeper," apparently
offered not a cent!
Barack Obama, Adult
Child of an Alcoholic. In 12-step recovery programs, Obama would be called an ACoA, an adult
child of an alcoholic. His father, Barack Obama, Sr., was the typical, garden-variety chronic
alcoholic. ... His words drip with the narcissism of adult children of alcoholics. Having been
abandoned by both parents, Obama sees himself as alone in the world. He doesn't have to consult the
experts; in his grandiose way of thinking, he's the expert on everything.
Presidential Self-Adulation
Hits New High. The PSA Index is the official measure of Presidential Self-Approval. It
first came into existence in December of 2009, when the president appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and
awarded himself a B-Plus for his first year in office.
Sixteen
Thousand Birthday Wishes From Obama to His Favorite Person. Since Obama took office January last
year, he's talked endlessly about himself. At townhalls, in speeches, during anniversaries and to the
press, the message has always been the same: "I." Obama has spoken some form of "I" or "me"
more than 16,000 official times since he took office.
Our Lecturer in Chief.
President Obama just can't help himself. It's impulse. Every time he sees the American people, in
their infinite and confounding ignorance, pursuing a course they shouldn't, he intervenes to correct them.
Such is the view from the clouds on which he placidly floats above us all. Most politicians speak of the
wisdom of the American people. Some even believe it. But not Obama. Time and time again, he
takes to the lectern to scold or educate us.
Just what is Barack Obama?
[Scroll down] There is real danger here. This is the behavior of tyrants. This is Nero,
Napolean, Hitler, Mussolini, Ahmadinejad — all those would-be self-annointed deities.
Self-worship is the religion of tyrants. When you believe yourself superior to your fellow man, you
believe yourself entitled to absolute power over all those fallible fellow humans under your authority.
Obama's True Religion: [Scroll
down] His conscience is governed by the basest sense of self-centered and self-serving egotistical
emotion. And although President Obama does comes across as a Muslim to many people, the only real
similarity he has with them is sharing the same attitude Muslim extremists have toward America. Obama
does not now, nor will he ever, practice any religion remotely affiliated with worshiping a power higher than
himself. No, America. Barack Obama's true religion is not Muslim or Christian — his
true religion is himself.
So Is He a Christian?
In some ways, Obama exhibits a worldview that more closely resembles a secularist than it does either a Muslim
or a Christian, especially in his views on social issues. Also, he seems to place a great deal of confidence
in himself and in government to bring about transformational change. How many God-fearing people have you
known who would say "we (meaning I) are the ones we've been waiting for" or "generations from now, we will be
able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow
and our planet began to heal"? The staggering conceit of these statements cannot be overstated.
David Limbaugh Brilliantly Skewers Obama.
Crimes Against Liberty finds [David] Limbaugh railing against an administration rapidly eroding a once-great
nation's core strengths. The first chapter, dealing with Obama's runaway ego, might be the least problematic
in terms of governance. But it's Obama's narcissistic ways that feed into much of his agenda. A
man who wrote two autobiographies before he truly accomplished anything special should have been a warning
sign, the author notes.
Thickness of the President's
Skin. [Scroll down] I used to think I was just imagining it. Like when the president
said he didn't pay attention to all the cable chatter, but didn't waste a moment ripping all the cable chatter.
If he didn't know about it, how was he so familiar with it and why was he wigging out about it? Then the
stuff about his trying to rise above the fray, but more often than not, more than happy to roll in the mud.
Insisting he was the president for whom the buck stopped, but not without taking every chance to rip the last
president for whom the statute of limitations on blame never stopped.
Obama's empathy gap.
It has finally dawned on Barack Obama and his advisors that his cool, imperious, arrogant style, however effective
it may have been when he was taking potshots at George W. Bush during the campaign, is a turn-off for the
citizenry he is leading as president. It doesn't help that he and Michelle are so fond of living large
while real unemployment is at 15 or 16 percent, and that his economic policies are making matters
worse.
'Like a Dog':
The Origins of Barack Obama's Petulance. [Scroll down] Obama's petulance, I think, more likely
derives from a certain surprise — leading to anger — that originates from novel and sudden
demands for accountability. Quite simply, no one has dared question Obama before — much less
press him for deeds to match his mellifluous words. Did he really think he could talk his way through
four years of the American presidency? Apparently, he did, and apparently he was almost right —
given that rhetoric and sophistry earned him the presidency in the first place.
New Narcissus. Only someone with
an insatiable ego could charm his way to the world's most powerful position. But ego is only a component
of a psychological package that captivated a majority of voters, especially those whose educations are so
paltry as to leave them with little or no powers of discernment, who needed only to hear "hope and change" to
be swept off their feet. It is much more than just ego: It is narcissism.
Obama's
Arrogance Starting to Get Noticed. The good news is that it's apparently not racist to call
Obama arrogant anymore. Not long ago, Keith Olbermann and other gargoyles on the parapets of establishment
liberalism insisted that if you were to call attention to the fact that Obama ostentatiously holds himself in
very high regard, you were really calling him "uppity," if you know what I mean. Now, what was once
taboo has become undeniable.
Marie Antoinette
has nothing on the Obamas. Despite campaigning as a consensus-builder and something of a healer,
perhaps the most accurate term we can use to describe Barack Obama's governing style is "in your face."
The term seems to have originated in the United States in the 1970's, more than likely on the basketball court
or in another sports venue. Meaning aggressively or blatantly confrontational, the term accurately reflects
the Obama mindset, as he peers down his nose from Mount Obamus to those who dare disagree with his policies
or pronouncements.
The Ego-in-Chief.
Two weeks ago, Obama essentially claimed Americans are too scared and ignorant to understand what his administration
is doing. Taken to task for this arrogant claim the president nevertheless pushed ahead with his theory
that Americans just aren't bright enough to appreciate his genius.
Now a few words about Antisocial Personality Disorder:
The Definitive Answer.
[President Obama] doesn't seem to do well in ad lib situations, and his use of the teleprompter during his
appearances is legend. This incapacity is coupled with an overdeveloped sense of self; a grandiose
nature. He's a man who seems almost contemptuous of those who dare to question him or his policies.
Is Obama Trapped?
[Scroll down] Traveling in India, the president misinterpreted the comments of an Indian businessman in a
way that reveals his tenacious self-worship. As Jake Tapper reported, Mr. Bhupendra Kansagra, founder
of SpiceJet, greeted the president: "Welcome, Mr. President, to India. As a fellow Kenyan, I'm very
proud to see that you have made ..." at which point Obama interrupted to say "made something of myself."
Kansagra finished the sentence: "... India as the focus of your drive for exports out of the U.S."
American Narcissus.
Politicians as a class are particularly susceptible to mirror-gazing. But Obama's vanity is overwhelming.
It defines him, his politics, and his presidency.
Narcissism is No
Longer a Psychiatric Disorder. Narcissistic personality disorder, characterized by an inflated sense
of self-importance and the need for constant attention, has been eliminated from the upcoming manual of mental
disorders, which psychiatrists use to diagnose mental illness.
The Editor says...
Narcissism may be rampant, but that doesn't mean it's normal.
What if Obama isn't
an Ideologue? Many conservatives have noted Barack Obama's Marxist roots. They fear that
our president may be a radical ideologue, a loather of American values, a false Christian more likely to
follow the Koran than the Bible, a slavish disciple of the odious Alinsky. They may be right. But
there is another possibility: Barack Obama may be nothing more than a purely political animal, committed
to nothing at all except his own fame, his own pleasure, and his own power.
The Editor says...
Or he could be both.
B.H. Obama:
Shameless Imperialist. Obama's ego is Napoleonic. He needs to expand his power without
limits. That's the nature of malignant narcissism. Civilized and democratic peoples suffer when
Napoleonic characters take power. We can't see the end game yet. This might or might not end in
a major war or worse. But we have a riverboat gambler running the ship of state, and he loves to play
with the power of "audacity."
Washington Post
punctures another Obama boast. Barack Obama gives himself another pat on the back and undeserved
good grade. Does he ever have any sense of humility? Will the lies ever stop?
Obama's Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Obama's desperate need for attention is clearly a psychological condition. He drinks in applause like a
washed-up movie star. It is usual for neglected children to develop narcissistic personality disorder (NPD),
typically characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, a strong sense of entitlement, preoccupations with
utopian fantasies, elitism, manipulative tendencies and pathological need for praise. President Obama was
abandoned by his parents during childhood. Now he exhibits the textbook symptoms of NPD.
Obama at the Abyss.
American voters will soon start to look for adults to lead the country. Not ego-tripping adolescents.
Obama's Edifice Complex.
What do most Americans come across every day that is the legacy of one President? One more clue: think
Dwight Eisenhower. Bingo! The highway system was created and promoted by Eisenhower and has outlasted
his mortal self. Does Obama want to create a monument to his own Presidency, miles wide and sprawling
across the nation for all of us to behold? Could Obama leave a similar edifice behind — say
a high speed rail network costing taxpayers tens of billions of dollars? He has been forcefully trying
to get this past Congress and past recalcitrant Governors worried about the real-world viability of high-speed
rail networks across America. These high speed rail projects would be a disaster.
King Barack's Waivers.
When Barack Obama declared during the 2008 presidential campaign, "We are the ones we've been waiting for,"
I remember thinking that this imbecilic slogan was a perfectly calibrated appeal to the puerile solipsism
that defines the contemporary progressive. What did not occur to me was that Obama might have been
speaking in the majestic plural. Now, having observed this imperious executive in action for two
years, I begin to suspect that he was using the word "we" in the same way that Queen Victoria employed it
when she famously observed, "We are not amused."
Obama Lies About Golf.
Presidents sometimes feel compelled to tell you what they are not. In 1973, President Richard Nixon
famously said "I am not a crook." In 2011, President Obama told a group of editors from Hearst magazines
that he is not a golf addict. According to the Hearst report, the reason President Obama spends so much
time unwinding on the links is because security restrictions mean he can't go out for long walks or go to
the car wash. "It's the only excuse I have to get outside for four hours at a stretch," he said.
Nice try! But not true.
The Editor says...
Are we supposed to feel sorry for Obama because he's cooped up in the White House all day? Hey, Barry,
if you don't like the job, you can quit at any time!
The Unhappy
President. The list of people I feel sorry for is long. ... But one guy who doesn't make
the list is Barack Obama.
Obama's
Likability Gap. The Barack Obama we've been seeing lately is a different personality
than the one that made a miracle run to the White House in 2008. Obama.2008 was engaging, patient,
open, optimistic and a self-identified conciliator. Obama.2011 has been something else —
testy, petulant, impatient, arrogant and increasingly a divider. Never forget: That historic
2008 victory came with 52.9% of the total vote and 52% of independent voters.
Obama:
Mistakes? Can't think of any. The president began his response haltingly, pointing out that
he has actually been in office just two and a half years, and "I'm sure I'll make more mistakes in the
next year and a half." ... But the president mentioned no actual mistakes.
Obama's Unholy Thursday.
Yesterday [4/21/2011], while Jews were celebrating Passover and Christians were preparing for Easter, wealthy liberals
on the west side of Los Angeles were busy bowing down to their deity, Barack Obama, who was in town to
raise money for his reelection campaign. Obama spent his time in Los Angeles worshiping himself among
his followers in Beverly Hills. For many in Los Angeles, Obama's visit was a most unholy Thursday.
Obama says he is a Christian, and I believe him. But when he says he cares about the concerns of
ordinary people, I do not believe him for one moment.
Obama Versus the
Constitution: Obama acts like a Third World socialist, like his Kenyan father, and his
thinking is stunningly rigid. He seems to be woefully ignorant about basic economics, science, and
technology, international affairs, and the conventions of American politics. Either that, or he is acting
that way as part of his peculiar character disorder. Deliberately violating norms is a way to show
contempt for "middleclassness," as Jerry Wright calls it. It's the bourgeois values that Karl Marx
hated so much. In psychiatry, deliberate lifelong violations of accepted rules are a sign of
"oppositional-defiant personality," closely allied with grandiose narcissism. That describes Obama's
lifelong character.
Arrogance and
Narcissism Reign in King Barack's Court. Arrogance allows Obama to travel on the
publicly-funded Air Force One at $70,000 per flight hour while demonizing corporate CEOs for flying
privately-funded aircraft at a fraction of the cost. Narcissism vindicates King Barack the First when
he compensates his supporters with taxpayer provided stimulus cash while praising his administration's
exemplary ethics.
King Obama? [Scroll
down] He is a narcissist of the highest order. He actually believes he is a King with all the
rights and privileges appertaining thereto. And he proves it in every speech, every non-Congressionally
approved appointment of a Czar, every executive order ignoring Congress and in every bow and move that he
makes on or off Air Force One. His arrogance shown since January 2009 is simply beyond the pale; yet
not for a King. After all, arrogance is the birth right of a monarch.
Obama Administration
takes victory lap in clown car. It's been less than 72 hours since President Barack Obama announced
that U.S. Special Forces "a small team of Americans" had killed Osama Bin Laden.
Since then, his administration has been hard at work screwing the whole thing up. Let's start with that speech
Sunday night. It was originally announced for 10:30 but didn't happen until 11:30. By that time, the news Obama
was supposed to be breaking had broken already. Not the best start. Presumably he was delayed arguing with his
speechwriters about keeping in all the "I," "Me," and "Mine." Everything having to do with this raid was "I"; anything
that could be attributed to the Bush administration was "We." "I gave the order, I did this, I did that."
My Recurring
Obama 'Dream'. Can you imagine how insufferable President Obama would be about his record in
office if he actually had abundant positive accomplishments? Have we ever seen a starker contrast
between a politician's record and his self-assessment of it? It's not as though the president just
avoids or downplays his failures. It's more like he showcases them, but only after completely revising
history to put his actions in a favorable light.
Obama's
troubled personal relations with foreign leaders. [Scroll down] Americans should not be too
surprised. After all, he has treated the leaders of several of our closest allies with
disdain — including the former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and, of course, Israeli's
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — having him enter the White House through an obscure doorway
and later rudely walking out of a meeting with him so he could have dinner with the First Lady.
The Dalai Lama was also all but ignored during a visit to the White House.
Obama
Brags 'I Have Better Plane' And 'Bigger Entourage' Than Three Years Ago. Imagine a Republican
president giving a speech on tough economic times in which he claimed that the plight of Americans who are
hurting is what is on his mind every day as he walks to the Oval Office. Imagine that same Republican
president, in that same speech, bragging that he has "a better plane" and "a bigger entourage" than when he
was a candidate. Now imagine the howls from the MSM about such president's vainglory and insensitivity.
Barack Obama is a Bad
Man. [Scroll down] Barack Obama is one of these bad people. He's dishonest,
narcissistic, and pinning him down can be like nailing jello to the wall. He's all things to all
people, but he is no one — an empty vessel. He uses people and then disposes of them when
it's expedient. His grandmother, his spiritual mentor, anyone who becomes an inconvenience is thrown
under the now infamous bus. He is adept at mockery and ridicule. His arrogance is legendary.
His skin is decidedly thin and he cannot bear to be contradicted or challenged. He works, not for the
American People but, for himself.
Obama's
Journey Through Vanity Fair. At one point I thought it could be attributed to an unusual degree
of cynicism, but now I wonder if it goes deeper than that. What I have in mind is President Obama's obsession
with portraying himself as our moral superior. ... Obama, according to Obama, is quite simply better, much
better, than those around him. He is a man of pure motives and unparalleled reasonableness, extraordinary
intellectual depth, and unsurpassed seriousness. Others are driven by narrow self-interest, by the
political calendar, by outside pressures. They are too ignorant or too weak to do the right thing,
the good thing, the hard thing. Not Obama.
Barack's Bankruptcy/Birthday
Bash. After struggling with noncompliant Republicans over the debt-ceiling debate, in what appears
to be an effort to soothe his "agitated" self, President Obama has scheduled a high-priced 50th birthday bash
in honor of the day he graced the planet with his greatness. ... Barack's Birthday Bonanza has been scheduled
for August 4th — the day after the United States of America is due to officially downshift from the
black into the red. ... The elaborate Chicago event will serve as an all-in-one Obama 2012 campaign fundraiser,
concert, and birthday celebration.
Now that his
incompetence is obvious, Obama should resign. Mr. Obama is the most arrogant, self-absorbed
and self-obsessed president in U.S. history. Nothing is ever his fault. He blames everyone and
everything for America's economic woes — Tea Partyers, Wall Street, Japanese earthquakes, insurance
executives, oil companies, millionaires and corporate jet owners. He lashes out at imaginary
enemies without ever taking personal responsibility. In his mind, he is — and always
will be — the Anointed One.
Why Can't Obama Be Like Tito?
What does accountability really mean to Obama? Taking the fall for his own disastrous presidency?
Acting upon his own incompetence and destructive leadership? Obama has blamed ATMs, the Japan earthquake,
oil companies, bankers, insurance companies, Wall Street traders, greedy millionaires, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh
and right-wing radio, the Tea Party, and of course inveterate racism from ordinary Americans. Underlying
all of these roadblocks to Obama's triumphant legacy are Republicans — intransigent, do-nothing,
unpatriotic hyper-partisans, interested only in acquiring power at the expense of the nation.
Is Obama
Smart? When it comes to piloting, Barack Obama seems to think he's the political equivalent
of Charles Lindbergh, Chuck Yeager and — in a "Fly Me to the Moon" sort of way — Nat
King Cole rolled into one. "I think I'm a better speech writer than my speech writers," he reportedly
told an aide in 2008. "I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors.
And I'll tell you right now that I'm ... a better political director than my political director."
Obama Vacay: In Your
Facemanship. If the Obamas insist on spending two weeks in an enclave noted for the rich and
famous, especially while the nation's unemployment rate hovers at just over 9%, then the least they could do
is exhibit a modicum of restraint, and try to be as modest and discreet as possible. Instead, Michelle
Obama, renowned for her impatience when it comes to reaching her desired destination, put thousands of
additional dollars on the taxpayers' tab, "so she could have just a bit of extra vacation" — all
of four hours' worth.
Obama Selects Psalm at
Ground Zero Enabling Him to Proclaim 'I am God'. As [Aaron I.] Reichel
points out: "Members of the clergy were not permitted to speak at the ceremony, but
one of the most politically partisan and unpopular presidents of our time was permitted to
speak not just in the name of God but to declare that he IS God! How many other U.S.
presidents, let alone monarchs governing by "divine right" or by any other mandate, have declared
on international television and radio in a ceremony widely watched and heard around the
world, 'I am God?'"
The Player and
the President. [Scroll down] During the nationally broadcast 9/11 ceremony from
New York, President Obama stood there in a Bill Clinton pose — his nose perched high in the
air — seemingly unmoved even as others wept and bowed their heads in prayer. It was a
troubling and incongruous posture for the leader of a nation commemorating the worst terrorist attack
in American history. ... He stood through most of the ceremony gazing off into the blue, as if he
were some kind of grandee above it all.
Obama's
Misadventures in Miscommunication. As a communications professional, my assessment of the
Obama Administration's communications strategy is that it may be the most inept performance I have ever
seen of any political regime. ... How does it look to the regular folks, as Bill O'Reilly calls us, when
unemployment is still over 9%, folks are losing their homes, and Mr. Obama says he'll present a big new jobs
bill ... after he returns from vacation? Sure, everyone needs a vacation, but what message does
it send? My vacation is more important than you people.
Obama's State of Mind.
If there is one thing we know about Obama, it is he views the advancement of his interests as synonymous with the
right ordering of the universe. Call it an inflated sense of self-importance and an extreme preoccupation
with himself. Call it narcissism.

Obama
reads children book about himself. Before his speech Tuesday [10/4/2011] at Eastfield College in
Mesquite, Texas, President Obama stopped by an early childhood education laboratory to read to children ages
3 to 5. Among his reading selections: A book about the presidential dog Bo, including
a drawing of the president himself.
Obama's
Behavior Is Getting Worse. Obama's Thursday [10/6/2011] news conference was a sober reminder of
the nature of the man in the Oval Office. I infer that even many of his supporters in the liberal media
are finally catching on to the magnitude of his personality disorders. How could a man in his important
position continue to act so childishly, accepting no responsibility for his policies and behavior and demonizing
everyone who dares to disagree with or oppose him? It's worse than embarrassing; it's unsettling.
President Obey-Me
Is Not Being Obeyed. Narcissists are not nice. They treat others as puppets on strings.
The rest of us get drawn in by their superficial charm, and then, after a while, we figure out that we've been
had. As soon as we walk away, the result is a towering rage by the narcissist. We all know people
like that. This is all routine psychiatric manual stuff. If you can handle a little more, President
Obama is an interesting mix of narcissism and "Oppositional Defiant Disorder."
Obama's
Target List. Lecturing, demonizing, and caricaturing are not just symptoms of narcissism or
being socially dense, but are also a revelation that Obama feels that he can say almost anything he wants,
with the expectation — always borne out in the past — of few consequences. Still,
his handlers worry about this habit, which explains both the serial use of teleprompted scripts even for the
briefest of commentary and the almost lightning response from the White House, either that the latest target
had it coming, or that the president's critics themselves were suspect in noticing such insults, or that the
remarks were meant only in jest.
Obama
gives donors the gift of giving to Obama. President Obama's campaign operation hit upon a new
fundraising pitch "this holiday season," as they've asked supporters to make a campaign donation "inspired"
by somebody else. "This holiday season," Obama's campaign announced today, "you can give to the 2012
campaign because of someone else — maybe a friend or family member."
Obama's Mount Gushmore.
Let's all grant that the White House does not attract many shrinking violets. Most of its occupants have
had healthy self-esteem, to put it mildly. But what we have now may be the most egotistic presidency we
have seen. Bragging about "legislative achievements" but not daring to say what those achievements
were — ObamaCare, the failed stimulus, bailouts for big donors like Solyndra — and then
claiming that you are doing it all for the embattled middle class is the act of an amazing ego.
Obama's Faith Problem.
Our President is much like the fellow Narcissus, who, according to legend, was so in love with himself that he
stared endlessly at his own reflection. Obama is a man quite full of himself and recently told Americans
that he views himself as fourth on the list of great American Presidents — a surprising list that
doesn't include George Washington.
Obama's Childish Playacting:
You might think that nearly three years of shooting air balls would cause Obama and his aides to stay away from
comparisons to [Michael] Jordan and [LeBron] James, as well as to FDR and Lincoln. ("I would put our legislative
and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years against any president — with the possible
exceptions of Johnson, FDR, and Lincoln," Obama told "60 Minutes." The use of the word "possible" is
priceless.) But you would be wrong. The Obama cult of personality, with a touch of narcissistic
personality disorder, goes on. And you can count on one thing: If Obama is defeated in 2012, his
narrative will be that we the American people were not worthy of the Great and Mighty Obama.
Why the Left Fears You:
The only trouble with Obama's phony humility is that narcissists like him rarely change. The Norwegians
gave him a Nobel Peace Prize just for getting elected, but they should have given him an Academy Award. This
is world-class conmanship. Behind the scenes he's more arrogant than ever.
Barack
Obama, the most arrogant US president in decades. In December Barack Obama vainly declared himself
the fourth best president in American history, up there with the likes of Abraham Lincoln and FDR, just three
years into his first term. ... Perhaps this display of self-importance is not surprising, coming from a president
who enthusiastically accepted the Nobel Peace Prize after just a few months in the job, and even campaigned thousands
of miles across the Atlantic in Berlin while running for office. This is a leader who thinks nothing of
taking a $4 million, taxpayer-subsidised vacation in Hawaii — nearly 100 times the average
annual salary of an American worker, which currently stands at $41,673.
The Transformational Tyrant.
No man is born a murderer, or evil or cruel. In America, no man is born a king or a tyrant. Just as
a man must learn to be a killer, men must teach themselves to be tyrants. Barack Obama has learned how to
be a tyrant. The proclivity was always there, along with the arrogance and narcissism. When you are
better than everyone else, it is a small step to wish to reign over them as well. Yet, few expected a
University of Chicago lecturer on constitutional law to decide the Constitution did not apply to him, only
to mere mortals like us.
The Cry-Baby in Chief. [In
The Obamas, by New York Times columnist Jodi Kantor,] Barack Obama comes off as a man with deep
personal issues, manifested in a supreme self-centeredness and tremendous insecurity. He is emotionally
fragile, unable to stand criticism, and bewildered by dissent. ... Sensitivity is fine and dandy, but all too
often, it comes along with serious insecurities of narcissism. That's clearly the case with Obama, who
apparently surrounds himself with women who overpower him (Michelle, Valerie Jarrett?), then bullies everyone
else. That self-centeredness translates into an obsession with power, even when it is exercised in
absolute trivialities.
Now We Know Who Was
Right about Obama. We now know that our charming president has a narcissism problem. ... He takes
criticism badly, has little empathy for others, and suffers from envy. In fact, envy is his one great leadership
ambition. He wants the whole country to operate on envy instead of hard work. A pathological narcissist,
Obama has no capacity to learn, because he cannot admit mistakes.
What's the Matter with the
Democratic Party? Narcissistic psychopaths tend to be smooth, soulless operators pursuing power, position, and
money, and deviant psychopaths tend more toward violent criminal psychopathy, with Hannibal Lecter as an extreme example. ... A
psychopath is quite capable of reflecting on how better to deceive people while being totally oblivious to why he should
not do so. More intelligent psychopaths tend to be the smooth operators, concealing their worst impulses and
worming their way into positions of power, wealth, and influence.
Here's your post-partisan president at work:
Obama the promise breaker.
From the start, the president insisted 2011 would be a bipartisan year. "What comes of this moment will be
determined not by whether we can sit together tonight, but whether we can work together tomorrow." The happy
feelings didn't last long. By October, the campaigner in chief sunk to challenging the intelligence of people
who disagree with him. At a stemwinder in Asheville, N.C., Mr. Obama insisted he had to break his jobs
bill into "bite-size pieces" because Republicans "just couldn't understand the whole all at once."
Obama's Social Justice
Capitalism. Certainly the Obama administration will stoop to anything to get votes for the next
election. The latest outrageous example is using the U.S. Export-Import bank (taxpayer-funded) to channel
funds to attract business to the swing states of North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia. So, yes,
from crony capitalism to vote-buying capitalism, the Obama administration will use any siphoning of taxpayer
funds to pump capital where it sees political advantage. But to leave it at that —
self-interest — is to miss the narcissistic sense of moral superiority.
Thou Shalt Not
Write Bad Things About Obama. Evidently our president did not appreciate something [Arizona governor Jan]
Brewer wrote about him. According to the pool report, they had a testy exchange from which the president walked
away as Brewer was still speaking. Sound familiar? Bobby Jindal got the same treatment when Obama came to
visit Louisiana and the governor met him on the tarmac.
Before the 2008 election, this topic was discussed under the title of
the self-centered
opportunist, his unjustified self-esteem and easily bruised ego.

Bad ideas, bad decisions and poor judgment
Typhoid Barry. He's
just Barry, an orphan with no country, the perennial outsider. A loner who prefers his own company or
the anonymity of crowds. In clinical terms, he may be a "secret schizoid" — outwardly engaged
but, in actuality, uneasy around people. Obama comforts himself with pleasures — parties, golf,
vacations. He's easily tempted by the allure of wealth and power. Through his affiliation with the
slumlord, Tony Rezko, he and Michelle acquired a mansion. Where was Obama's righteous indignation when
black tenants endured rat-infested, unheated apartments? Where was Obama's towering passion when he
cavalierly eliminated the D.C. school voucher program? As for his father, if Obama is ablaze with Barack
Sr.'s spirit, why did Junior skip the man's funeral, and why did he allow Dad's family to live in squalor?
Guess Who's
Not Coming to Dinner. Last week, an open letter came from public policy scholar Dr. Boyce Watkins,
who gave it to Obama with the bark on. Black unemployment last month hit 16.7 percent. Among
black teenagers, it is 45 percent. Blacks, wrote Watkins, "bear the brunt of this economic crisis
in ways that are unimaginable to other Americans. Our homes are being foreclosed on more often, and we
are less able to rely on a source of background wealth to help us get through." Yet as this crisis deepens
for black America, Obama and Sen. Harry Reid are pursuing an amnesty called the DREAM Act for 2 million
illegal aliens, as a prelude to full amnesty for 12 to 20 million. Yet, these illegals hold
8 million jobs that would otherwise be available to black Americans.

Missing Historic Boy Scout Jamboree for Fundraisers, 'View' Taping. President Obama will make
history as the first sitting president on a daytime talk show when he visits with the ladies of "The View."
But he'll be missing out on another historic occasion — the Boy Scouts' Jamboree marking the
group's 100th anniversary, right in the president's backyard.
Obama's
Push for Copenhagen Deal Could Violate Constitution, Critics Say. President Obama's
mission to save the planet from global warming could end up trampling on the U.S. Constitution, critics
say. When Obama arrives in Copenhagen Friday, he is hoping to cut a deal on a new global-warming
agreement. Even though the conference is not likely to produce a legally binding deal, critics
say if the president signs an international climate treaty pledging reductions in carbon emissions,
he will violate the Constitution. ... The Constitution states that the president cannot sign
treaties without the approval of two-thirds of the Senate.
Did
someone mention Copenhagen?
Nearly 60 percent Say President Obama's Decisions 'Bad
for America'. A majority of Americans believe an increased government role in health care would
lead to more government corruption, while a plurality of Americans think that scientific data supporting
man-made global warming is "mostly falsified." That is what a new poll by Survey USA reveals. The
poll also shows that 58 percent of Americans believe that decisions by the Obama administration have been
"bad for America," as opposed to 37 percent who think Obama's decisions have been "good for America."
Obama's
Political Oil Fund. The BP oil spill is already a calamity for the Gulf Coast ecosystem
and economy, but now that Washington is looking to deflect all political blame it could also became a
disaster for the rule of law. Exhibit C, or perhaps it's now D, is the new White House demand
that BP pay into an escrow account controlled by government to pay for the economic costs of the spill.
Exhibit A was the public announcement by Attorney General Eric Holder that his Department had opened a
criminal probe of the spill, a fact usually kept under wraps to protect the innocent.
It's the gushing geyser of Obama's animus
that needs to be capped. When an accident on an oil rig results in an environmental catastrophe,
it surely takes a particular genius to turn the oil company involved into the victim. Yet, remarkably,
that is precisely what President Barack Obama appears to have achieved.
Has the President Lost His
Bearings? [Scroll down] The affair? Another in-poor-taste White House gala, which ought to, by now,
be billed by the press as tawdry let-them-eat-cake displays of President Obama's royal-laden, out-of-touch
disposition towards all things real-life. The president's Hey Jude moment occurred on June 3,
day 44 of the man-caused catastrophe in the Gulf. ... What was he thinking? This seems too mild a
question for the enormity of the statement Barack Obama made about his own transparently disordered
character. Any president who fails to see the vulgar implications of partying hearty while millions
of American citizens are seeing their already-imperiled livelihoods go completely kaput with every day of
gushing crude has lost touch with reality.
Paying Off
'La Raza'. If you were president of the United States, would you hire an alleged former
spy for Fidel Castro to be ambassador to El Salvador, a country teetering on the brink of hard-core
socialism? President Obama just did.
President Obama's
many shticks. American presidents are best remembered for what happened to the nation
while they were at the helm, and the important decisions they made. One can only shudder at
how history will one day judge the Obama years. Will these years be the years that Iran and N. Korea
develop nuclear weapons and use them? Will these be the years of record unemployment, government
run everything, and federal bankruptcy? What about individual liberty?

Fall Of The Wall? U.S. Sends
Regrets. The White House has announced our absence at ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary
of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Meanwhile, Russia has been practicing a nuclear invasion of an

Obama's Berlin snub
in focus. The President of leisure has a pretty slow day Monday [11/9/2009], highlighting the
point that no pressing business kept him from celebrating the fall of communism 20 years after the
Berlin Wall fell.
Obama
can't be bothered by Islamic terrorism. In the wake of the terrorist strike on our soldiers at
Fort Hood, one individual's still missing in action: Our commander in chief. The massacre's
51 casualties, including 13 dead, were insufficient to drag President Obama away from the White
House Happy Hour. We just saw the worst terror attack on America since 9/11. And Obama couldn't
adjust his schedule to support our grieving troops.
The Editor wonders...
He "can't be bothered" by terrorism, or he is not bothered by terrorism?
Skewed Priorities.
What are we to make of a White House visitors list that includes 22 swiftly scheduled appointments with a

Why is
Obama going to Copenhagen? I think I speak not only for myself but for the 295 million Americans
who don't live in the Chicago area when I say that President Obama has about as much business going to Copenhagen
to push the city's Olympic bid as he does taking up the violin.
Obama's Olympic Spirit. It
would seem the Obama administration, which hasn't had time to hold conversations with senior military officials involved
in such a critical national security issue as the war in Afghanistan, has been spending far more time assisting President
Barack Obama's adopted hometown, Chicago, than the White House has previously divulged, using the President's and White
House senior staff's presence at global policy meetings to lobby foreign ministers, diplomats and members of the
International Olympic Committee.
The President as Pitchman:
It Isn't Pretty. Politically, economically and historically it makes no sense for the president to travel
to Denmark to sell Chicago to the Olympic committee.
Obama Snubs Nation's Heroes. The newly sworn-in

Honor, the nation's highest military award.

Should the U.S. scrap its special relationship with the U.K. to fulfill an ill-considered campaign vow? That's
the trade-off the Obama administration made by secretly foisting terrorists onto Bermuda. It's wrong.
Obama White House Calls for
Repealing Defense of Marriage Act. President Barack H. Obama is poised to be the most
pro-homosexual chief executive in history. Unveiling his agenda Tuesday on the newly refurbished
version of the White House Web site, Obama called for the repeal of the federal Defense of Marriage Act
(DOMA), as well as the extension of more than 1,000 federal marriage benefits and of adoption rights to
homosexual couples.
The
honeymoon ends promptly at noon. So far [the Obama] administration looks more like a Clinton
Restoration than anything anticipated by the embittered cult on the far fringes of the nutcake left.
That's better than some of us expected. But Nancy Pelosi, the dowager queen of the San Francisco
Democrats, and some of her congressional acolytes still dream of resurrecting Nuremberg and putting
George W. and Dick Cheney in the dock, like Hermann Goering.
Obama lifts Bush's
veil of secrecy. Moving quickly to undo the Bush administration's regime of secrecy, President
Obama on Wednesday repealed a 2001 executive order granting former presidents, and even vice presidents, the
ability to keep documents secret long past the 12 years allowed by law. It was one of Mr. Obama's
first official acts, and was hailed as a rebuke of the past eight years. In announcing the order,
Mr. Obama said it will even tie his own hands.
Trial
lawyers want a lawsuit czar. One thing the Obama White House doesn't lack is czars. So far,
there are or soon will be an energy czar, an economy czar, a health care czar and an urban affairs czar.
There may yet be a White House car czar, and, if the class-action trial lawyers have their way —
which they almost always do when the Democrats they bought and paid for are in power — there will
soon be a lawsuit czar, too.
Lawsuit Czar Proposed.
The Moonbat Messiah will bring change, all right. As it stands, America's economy has been crushed
beneath a thousand tons of regulation and litigation. With Obama, it will be crushed beneath a million
tons of regulation and litigation. The next nugget of hopey change: enshrining an official lawsuit
czar, who will preside over the looting of the productive by the verminous locust swarm known as trial lawyers.
Coming Soon: Amnesty. If Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid and thirteen other senators achieve what appears to be their goal — what amounts
to amnesty is coming soon. On January 6, the "Stronger Economy, Stronger Borders Act of 2009," S.9, was
introduced as "among the legislative priorities for the new Congress." But thus far, the content of this bill
does not reflect what its bold, tough title implies. Rather, using Vermont's Senator Patrick Leahy's introduction
of S.9 as the barometer, the precise opposite will occur. It is a bill which would weaken America's border
with Mexico and legalize illegal aliens.
Dangers of high-speed governing: "The days of
Washington dragging its heels are over," said President Barack Obama the other day as he hastened to destroy
the auto industry, eliminate jobs, render Americans less safe when they drive and gouge more dollars out of
them. When you are president, such things can be easy, a virtual snap of the fingers, simply a matter of
issuing a couple of executive orders, one of which says the following in so many words: The administration
is going to go through some motions with EPA and then let California and other states set their own tailpipe
emission standards even though they are much tougher than national standards.
Obama's lethal game of
beggar-thy-neighbour: when you are the newly elected US President and the money you are preparing to print
runs into the trillions, the queue at the trough is bound to form pretty fast. But the scale of the temptation is
precisely what makes Congress's populist "Buy America" rider an irresponsible, innumerate, pernicious bit of political and
economic folly. If Mr Obama blocks this clause, he will anger the Left. If he does not, retaliation is inevitable.
That will shut American workers out of "hundreds of billions of dollars of new business". Caterpillar, to take just one
example, is actively bidding for big infrastructure projects in China; it reckons that "Buy America" would kill its
prospects there.
The Card
Check "Compromise". Using words like "bipartisanship" and "compromise" President Obama may
attempt a clever move to get controversial legislation passed to increase Big Labor's control over the
U.S. workforce. It's no secret the Orwellian-titled Employee Free Choice Act is one of the Democrats'
top priority legislative items to tackle after work on the economic stimulus bill is completed.
Obama: Building a Monument to Tolerance on the Rubble of
Religious Freedom. No sooner had he finished speaking of his fellow Americans in his
inaugural address as a people who "have chosen hope over fear [and] unity of purpose over conflict
and discord" than his staff posted, on the White House Web site, a virtual declaration of war against
those who oppose the demands for special rights and privileges by those who engage in homosexual
behavior.
Prepare now for huge battles. I
predict ... 2nd Amendment rights will continue to be attacked and legal contortionists will continue trying to
position those rights as collective, militia rights, not individual rights. Beware! It will be
precious! We will see, adjusting, manipulating, regulating, taxing ... ok, simply taking the gun rights
of gun store owners and gun shows; attacking, then seizing certain types of guns, voting into law
certain "safety" features which would have to be put on guns to have them in homes, thus rendering
them useless for protection.
O
Goes Unilateral. President Obama spent his first week in office dismantling a number of Bush
policies. Demanding reports on a faster Iraq withdrawal or closing Gitmo amount to no more than political
sleight of hand. But Obama's actions on the Middle East may substantially alter US strategy.
Alinski's Rules: Must
Reading In Obama Era. [Saul Alinsky] wanted a radical change of America's social and economic
structure, and he planned to achieve that through creating public discontent and moral confusion. Alinsky
developed strategies to achieve power through mass organization, and organizing was his word for revolution.
He wanted to move the U.S. from capitalism to socialism, where the means of production would be owned by all
the people (i.e., the government). A believer in economic determinism, he viewed unemployment, disease,
crime and bigotry as byproducts of capitalism. "Change" was Alinsky's favorite word, used on page
after page.
Informality
Excess: Obama Replacing 'Hail to the Chief'. Veteran CBS Radio White House correspondent
Mark Knoller reports that President Obama is relaxing more than the dress code at the presidential mansion.
Pomp is giving way to piano-bar pop ... To many Americans, this excessive informality suggests a real distaste
for "official" or "patriotic" music, not to mention the Marine band that plays it.
Obama Handles First Natural
Disaster from Afar. President Barack Obama is handling the first natural disaster of his
presidency from the White House — an ice storm that has claimed the lives of at least
59 people — and so far has not visited the affected region.
How Obama Stimulates Feminists.
Obama's other acts are even more troubling. Our president appears to believe every lie that feminists
utter. Nine days after the inauguration he signed the Lilly Ledbetter bill as "a simple fix to ensure
fundamental fairness for American workers." His description of it was totally fallacious. The bill
makes a mockery out of the original statute of limitations and could result in employees suing over supposed
discrimination emanating from supervisors who, in the case of Ledbetter, are long dead. The law is a
disgrace and allows women, via phantom evidence, to break companies.
Obama turns WH site into Gay
Clearinghouse. As thousands waited along the parade route, the official White House website
became the Obama Gay Rights Channel. Within an hour of his swearing-in, the following was posted on the
official White House website, as Obama's immediate "civil rights" goals. Protect cross-dressing and
transgenderism in workplace (including schools) through federal law: Pass "Employment
non-discrimination Act" [EDNA] to prohibit "discrimination based on sexual orientation or
gender identity or expression".
Putting the mice in charge of the cheese:
Pornography
Advocate at DOJ? It's been a taxing two weeks for President Obama and his nominees. And
there's another nominee with bigger disqualifiers than unpaid taxes. Imagine. A veteran pornography
defense attorney takes a top spot at the agency charged with enforcing the nation's child pornography and
obscenity laws.
Obama's porn king
at Justice. Under President Obama, it was expected that porn pushers might find a sympathetic
ear, given the smut industry's generous support of liberal politicians and causes. But the fox is no longer
circling the henhouse. He's made it inside.
So far, it's been Obamateur
Hour. The hideous drooling blob of toxic pustules dignified as the "stimulus" bill is something the incoming
Obama had months to prepare for and oodles of bipartisan goodwill and fawning press coverage to waft him along on.
Instead, he chose to outsource it to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank and the rest of the congressional pork
barons. So that, too, is not an "event" but merely, like his Cabinet picks, a matter of judgment and executive
competence.
Get Ready for the Robert Reich
Workfare State. We're going to pay poor people to inflate our tires and tell us how to save energy. Yes,
really.
Obama plots huge railroad expansion.
Railroads made Chicago, and now a Chicago-rich White House wants to return the favor: remaking rail with
a huge new federal investment in high-speed passenger trains. The $787.2 billion economic recovery
bill — to be signed by President Barack Obama on Tuesday — dedicates $8 billion to
high-speed rail, most of which was added in the final closed-door bargaining at the instigation of White House
chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.
The Editor's advice to Mr. Emanuel:
Passenger trains were really big back in the 1930s, along with newpapers and AM radio. Today they are
all archaic, un-economical and passé. Obviously the only reason to invest in high speed rail
is to give the rapidly expanding federal government something to do. We can see right through you.
Barack Obama sends bust of Winston Churchill on its way back to Britain.
A bust of the former prime minister once voted the greatest Briton in history, which was loaned to George W Bush from
the Government's art collection after the September 11 attacks, has now been formally handed back. The bronze by
Sir Jacob Epstein, worth hundreds of thousands of pounds if it were ever sold on the open market, enjoyed pride of place in
the Oval Office during President Bush's tenure. But when British officials offered to let Mr Obama to hang onto the
bust for a further four years, the White House said: "Thanks, but no thanks."
King Barry's Big Adventure.
England has been our staunchest ally for over a century. Our United States Constitution is based on the
Magna Carta and English common law. There is no other country with which we have a more profound
shared history. Enter King Barry, the Progressive Marxist avenger, attempting to equalize British
Colonial misdeeds against his paternal African ancestors, by administrating a well-placed slap across
the face of English royalty specifically, and the English people in general. For the most powerful
political figure on the global stage and supposed leader of the "free world", that's not exactly keeping
the big picture in perspective.
Has Obama killed nuclear
power? It looks like Obama's budget intends to give up on implementing the Yucca Mountain
nuclear waste repository. (Congratulations, Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-NV). So, nuclear
waste would continue to sit around nuclear power plants. Which means nobody is going to build
anymore nuclear power plants in the U.S. ever.
Second Liens Forgiven: Are You Kidding Me? Amid
the dozens of pages of details of the Obama mortgage modification plan, one new element will likely not make
it into the headlines because it's something of an afterthought. It has to do with second liens, that
is piggy back loans or home equity lines of credit. ... Why stop there? What about car loans? Student
loans?? The second liens, in general, were used by borrowers to either buy more home than they could
really afford or to use their homes as ATM machines. Yes, some people use home equity lines of credit
to pay college tuition.
Scrimpers
and Savers Being Played for Suckers. President Obama's mortgage "rescue" initia tive gets only
four things wrong. But those flaws are so major, they negate any good that the plan would do. Here's
what's wrong: The plan requires homeowners who have scrimped and sacrificed to pay their mortgages to
bail out their less responsible neighbors.
Citizen-Defendants of
the World. The global citizenship "burdens" the President has in mind are significant and
numerous, judging by the nature of the various treaties he and his representatives are seeking to advance.
For instance, the Law of the Sea Treaty would severely constrain America's ability to protect its security and
economic interests by establishing a new global bureaucracy to oversee territorial disputes, free passage,
and exploitation of seabed resources. The Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty would effectively
cripple our nuclear deterrent capability by prohibiting any explosive nuclear testing. And the
yet-to-be-named post-Kyoto agreement on climate change would likely hinder our economic development
through regulation of greenhouse gas emissions.
Report
calls for new food safety oversight. The food safety system 'is plagued with problems,' an
advocacy group says. It favors naming an FDA official to oversee the food supply and eventually
creating a Food Safety Administration.
The Editor says...
This is a particularly bad idea, since there is already a Food and Drug Administration, and if
the FDA is ineffective, expanding it won't help.
Obama Soaks the Rich: Churches, Day Care, Homeless Shelters,
Soup Kitchens. President Obama's glib assertion that his reduction in tax deductions will not
reduce donations is absurd. His pathetic defense at his press conference — that he would
still give a $100 dollar check even if he got $11 less of tax deduction from it was both disingenuous and
beside the point. And his comment that his reduced deduction would only affect 1 percent or
2 percent of the nation misses the point that it is these folks who are doing almost half of the
donating.
Unseen Enemy. Besides
sending more troops to Afghanistan, President Obama plans to send billions more in aid to Pakistan, despite
evidence that our money is used to kill troops in Afghanistan.
Obama's Unholy War Against
Christianity, Not Islam. As Obama gears up to abolish the conscience rights of Christian pro-lifers
at American hospitals, as he uses executive orders to force Christians to finance abortions at home and abroad, as
he places Christian opponents of gay marriage in the moral category of racists, he tells Turkey that "America is
not and never will be at war with Islam" and accepts the moderation of Muslims without question.
Obama Administration Wants to Be Your Conscience.
The "conscience clause" was put in place by President Bush in his final days in office. According to LifeNews.com
under this rule "workers in health-care settings — from doctors to janitors — can refuse to provide
services, information or advice to patients on subjects such as contraception, family planning, blood transfusions and even
vaccine counseling if they are morally against it."
White House Invites Gay Families to Easter
Event. The White House is allocating tickets for the upcoming Easter Egg Roll to gay and lesbian
families as part of the Obama administration's outreach to diverse communities.
All the News That's
Fit to Ridicule. It is my belief that by a huge margin independents and moderates go along with Obama's plan
to eliminate charitable deductions from the tax code. It isn't that these people are necessarily opposed to charities,
they are merely opposed to individuals, particularly those of a religious bent, deciding for themselves which ones to
support. They prefer that the decisions be made by left-wing politicians. So, while they would be happy to see
hundreds of millions of dollars going to ACORN, abortion clinics, the National Endowment of the Arts, National Public Radio
and AmeriCorps, they hate to see a dime go to churches, the Boy Scouts or the Salvation Army.
His invitation to indict Bush officials will haunt Obama's Presidency.
Presidential Poison. Mark down
the date. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, is the moment that any chance of a new era of bipartisan respect in
Washington ended. By inviting the prosecution of Bush officials for their antiterror legal advice, President
Obama has injected a poison into our politics that he and the country will live to regret.
Steady
descent into third world. No president before has sought to punish his predecessor for policy
decisions, no matter how wrong or wrong-headed. Lyndon B. Johnson's management of the Vietnam War
was often ham-handed, as anyone who was there could tell you, and his policy makers sometimes verged on
criminal incompetence. But Richard Nixon was never tempted to send LBJ or any of those presidential
acolytes to prison.
'Green'
Obama wants us to pay. For all Barack Obama's talk about rejecting new trade barriers, there is an
increasing awareness around the world that the United States is planning to introduce climate-change legislation
that amounts to little more than green protectionism.
100
Days, 100 Mistakes. [For example]
59. Firing Rick Wagoner as president of GM.
60. Threatening to fire Vikram Pandit as CEO of Citigroup.
61. Threatening to fire anyone the administration doesn't like from any company.
Deserting
Dissidents: Obama's Dangerous Silence. One of the world's most courageous women is locked
away in a miserable rat-hole in Rangoon. Her "crime"? Demanding freedom for her people. ... Voices from
Congress to the European Union have demanded Suu Kyi's release. And the Leader of the Free World?
Silence.
The Obama-Wanda Sykes
Chilling Laugh Fest. Last Saturday [5/9/2009], at the annual White House Correspondents' Association
Dinner, she wished an American citizen to die because this citizen disagrees with the politics of the American
president. Wanda Sykes isn't of any interest to me. The fact that the American president was five
feet away from her and had to laugh about her joke was of interest. A comedian wishes a citizen
dead and the president laughs?
Criminally useful idiocy. On Friday
[6/12/2009], President Obama had this to say about the election in Iran: "We are excited to see what appears to be a
robust debate taking place in Iran. Whoever ends up winning the election in Iran, the fact there has been a robust
debate hopefully will advance our ability to engage them in new ways." This was an extremely foolish comment for at
least two reasons.
A most unusual Fourth of
July. While we, the American people, were celebrating the passage of the Declaration of Independence on the
Fourth of July, 1776, our only nationally-elected leaders, the President and Vice-President, seem to have forgotten its
meaning. ... With both the federal deficit and domestic unemployment rates soaring, the President of the United States
was headed to Moscow where he was ready to announce billions of dollars of investments — in Russia.
Spread Freedom?
Not So Much. In July of 2007, Obama said that he would order U.S. forces out of Iraq as quickly
as possible, even if he knew it would lead to an Iraqi genocide. This makes Obama the first president in
modern memory to have suggested that causing a genocide would be in America's national interest.
'Male' and 'Female' won't suffice in a perverse world.
Health Care Bill Directs HHS
Secretary to Develop 'Standards for Measuring Gender'. The Senate Health, Education, Labor
and Pensions (HELP) Committee's health care legislation will give the Health and Human Services secretary
the authority to develop "standards of measuring gender" — as opposed to using the traditional
"male" and "female" categories — in a database of all who apply or participate in government-run or
government-supported health care plans.
How
Obama and Henry "Yo Mama" Gates Can Woo Back the "White Devils": The generational wounds of discrimination
will not heal with Obama calling one of our nation's best and brightest fair-skinned cops "stupid." FYI to BHO:
That kind of talk, thoughtlessly slurring one of our finer whiteys' intelligence, will leave a negative mark on our
Caucasian consciousness. You can say we can't jump, or we can't dance, but you cannot call one of our tribe stupid
when, in reality, the guy was just doing his job in an excellent manner while apprehending one of your belligerent, bigoted
buddies...
Honoring
an America-Hater. The Medal of Freedom is the nation's highest civilian honor. Past recipients include
John Wayne, Norman Rockwell and Vaclav Havel. This year, one of the 16 recipients President Obama selected is former
Irish President and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson. Bad choice.
Obama 'Impervious to Empirical
Evidence'. Throughout the campaign and continuing into his presidency Obama has decried George W. Bush
as an "ideologue," a man blinded by preexisting conceptions and inured to evidence which contradicted his worldview.
But it is the Obama team which in just seven months has perfected the art of denying or evading facts. It doesn't
matter if the subject is small or large. It can be a domestic or foreign policy issue. The modus operandi
is the same: don't give them the facts; they've made up their minds.
The Strange Case of the
Obama Meltdown. Who made the following decisions? [1] to propose a 1,000 page bill that no one had read,
much less could explain?; [2] to ram down the greatest change in the US economy in fifty years by the August
recess?; [3] to talk loosely of the "uninsured" without knowing why they were not insured, how much it would
cost to insure them, or whether they currently in fact find some sort of care?; [4] to reference Rahm Emanuel's
doctor brother as a source of wisdom? [5] to demonize the health-care industry as greedy?
Who's Responsible for 75 Dead and 310 Injured?
Barack Hussein Obama. Determined to keep some form of his arbitrary Iraq troop withdrawal plan intact,
just to keep his Code Pinko constituents back home appeased while he fumbles every political football on earth,
Barack Obama left the Iraqi people at the mercy of Islamic terrorists still anxious to kill and this morning's
[8/19/2009] headlines read — 75 killed, 310 injured in Baghdad attacks.
Where's The Thanks? The same
'coup-government' the Obama administration reviles is one of the very few helping us fight terror.
Obama
proving incapable of terror fight. [Scroll down] First came the sick spectacle of the
release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi from a Scottish prison. As families of his 1988 Pan Am Flight 103
mass murder recoiled in shock — along with most of the civilized world — Obama, a
supposed master of word choice, found the whole thing "disturbing." "Disturbing." Really.
A dip in the housing market is disturbing. The Scottish decision to release the only man convicted
of blowing up 270 people is an unmitigated outrage, compounded by the hero's homecoming he received in
Libya.
Obama jilts
Poland and the Czech Republic. The United States is poised to dump a critical missile-defense
agreement with two of its most dependable NATO allies. The Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza reported
yesterday that the Obama administration is going to scrap the "third site" anti-missile system scheduled
to be deployed in Poland and the Czech Republic. Missile interceptors in Poland and a radar station
in the Czech Republic were scheduled to be deployed by 2013. Now the plan appears to have been shot
down.
Obama's bad round, &c.
It was noted in the press that, when Obama couldn't attend the state funeral in Poland, owing to the Icelandic
volcano, he spent the day playing golf. This looked a little crass. I'm a big defender of Obama's
golf, but that particular round was quite unwise.
Silent signals:
Citing flight hazards caused by the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland, Obama unable to travel to Poland,
chose to pay homage to Tiger Woods instead, and did so while President Kaczynski was being eulogized in Krakow.
Some world leaders were also unable to attend, others found alternate means of travel. Barack, rather
than visiting, paying respects, and signing the sympathy book at the Polish Embassy in Washington DC, decided
to solemnly commemorate the death of a world leader by shooting a few rounds of golf.
The President Who
Won't Grow Up. [Scroll down slowly] It breaks my heart to see our president making a
serious statement without a tie, or giving the British Prime Minister a cheap, thoughtless gift. By
belittling tradition, he diminishes the magnificence of the office of which he's been given temporary
stewardship. This past weekend, the president was unable to attend the funeral of the Polish president.
Instead of visiting the Polish embassy to sign the condolence book, or even staying quietly out of sight,
President Obama decided to play golf.
Stressed
Out or Tone Deaf? Obama Chicago Vacation Raises Eyebrows. Presidents are never really
off the clock, even when they go on vacation. But President Obama's decision to skip the traditional
Memorial Day ceremony in Arlington while on his second vacation since the BP oil spill began has some
wondering what the schedule says about his priorities.
Ten
Questions Rush Would Have Asked Obama at Thursday's Press Conference. [#3] You say that
you won't rest until every American has a job and the Gulf oil spill is capped and the area cleaned up.
Well, why are you vacationing in Chicago over the Memorial Day weekend and then returning to Washington for
a Paul McCartney concert? ... [#7] When you said to your staff, "Plug the d--- hole," was it your
impression that BP had not yet thought of that, and did it take you five weeks to come up with that
solution? What were some of the other ideas you had, if this was your latest and greatest idea,
plug the hole?
The
President's Memorial Daze. Our commander in chief was to miss the wreath-laying ceremony
at Arlington National Cemetery to go on vacation. Other presidents have missed it, but never
at wartime.
President Obama
will skip Memorial Day visit to Arlington National Cemetery. President Obama is skipping the
traditional Memorial Day visit to Arlington National Cemetery, a move that has dismayed some veterans —
and comes at a sensitive moment in the administration's relationship with the military.
Obama:
June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. As he did last year, Obama today [5/28/2010]
declared June "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month." But this year the announcement
comes as Congress began moving to repeal the controversial "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy used by the
US military when dealing LGBT service members.
Obama Missed A Great Chance. President
Obama had a golden Memorial Day opportunity to show the country that (contrary to his left flank) he is not
anti-military and not anti-Christian, by telling Attorney General Eric Holder to order the Park Service to
permit volunteer veterans to replace the Mojave Cross that was stolen on May 9. But he let the
atheists and those who sneer at our veterans win the day.
Obama:
Post-Racial, Post-Partisan, or Post-Sanity? We now have an administration which views
injustices against blacks as quite different from comparable injustices against whites and intends
to file no future actions for voting rights violations against blacks. It attempts to cultivate
actual and potential Hispanic voters by minimizing enforcement of federal immigration laws, while suing
Arizona for trying to fill the void. It is presumed that enforcement (which has not yet begun) will be
racially motivated and that it is proper to attack as racists those who view the situation differently.
Obama Politicizes Gulf Oil Spill.
President Obama welcomed the New Orleans Saints to the White House on Monday [8/9/2010] to celebrate the
team's Super Bowl victory. It's arguably the most attention he's given Louisiana since visiting the
state in early June. Obama made three trips to Louisiana during the course of the oil spill. The
last came on June 4, six weeks before the well was capped. ... His administration is instead showering
attention on the political battleground of Florida.
Obama:
Not the Great Stone Face. Obama could still restore his standing with the American people if
he copied the Clinton of 1995 and abandoned his unpopular agenda. But he won't.
A Really Dumb
Snub. Obama's snub of [Texas Governor] Perry could be grist for much political fodder should
Perry emerge as the Republican contender for president in 2012. Perry is sharp, smart and doing a
much better job of successfully leading Texas than Obama is America. Perry is a former Air Force
pilot rather than a former community organizer. As for looking presidential, the confident, handsome,
grizzled Perry makes Obama look exactly like what he is, a phony, fast-talking loser of a community
organizer from Chicago.
Obama
hits the links rather than honor police dead. President Obama left the White House this
morning [5/15/2011] a little after 9:30 am. He wasn't on his way to the Capitol building, where
grieving friends and families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty hold a yearly
commemorative service.
Ranking Obama's
golf partners. On Sunday, President Barack Obama golfed for the 68th time during his presidency
(h/t Mark Knoller). Thanks to Golf Digest's ranking of Washington's best golfers, the groups for these
outings are getting even greater scrutiny.
Why I Take Obama's
'Common' Offenses Against Officers Personally. President Obama continues to use the White House
as a platform to dishonor police officers. On May 11, Obama and First Lady Michele welcomed a rap
poet who celebrates cop killers to the White House. Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr., known professionally as
"Common," performed a few days before thousands of police officers arrived in Washington for "National
Police Week," the annual memorial to honor fallen officers.
Obama's "Common"
Associations. While Michelle Obama may have only recently found a reason to be proud of her
country, she has long been proud of rapper Common. Mrs. Obama and her husband do not want to celebrate
the National Day of Prayer in the White House, and the latter "forgot" to do a Presidential Proclamation on
Easter — but having Common in the White House is a priority. This president — and
apparently his wife, as well — does not understand or relate to the views of average Americans.
Most of us read Common's lyrics and cannot fathom why the president would allow this person to be feted in the
People's House.
Despite
outrage, Common performs at the White House. Rapper and poet Common may have incited controversy
this week when the White House invited him to perform at a poetry event. After all, he has rapped about
shooting police and has written lyrics calling for the "burn[ing] of former President George W. Bush."
But Common kept things pretty tame when he took the stage in the East Room at Wednesday night's "Evening of
Poetry" along with other musicians, poets and artists.
Why Obama is Just Not That Into
You. Obama practices reverse racism by preferring his brothers above all others. Obama's DOJ refuses
to prosecute the New Black Panthers, through they threaten to kill "cracker babies." According to a DOJ whistleblower,
the department will investigate no injustices against whites. And though quick to allege racism against a Cambridge
cop, Obama has been conspicuously silent about some horrific black on white attacks of late. But the pièce
de résistance, the quintessential example of Obama-style contempt, has got to be just last week. Obama
invited a Chicago rapper, Common, to perform at the White House, even though the rapper's lyrics praise cop killers.
And, of course, Obama does so during National Police Week, which honors fallen cops.
Taxpayer
Funded Beer Bash, Ball Games and Scavenger Hunts at Holder DOJ. With the real unemployment
rate above 16 percent, it is a perfect time to throw a lavish party for high paid federal employees at
Eric Holder's Department of Justice. At least Eric Holder thinks so.
Business group slams Obama
over oil release. Washington's most powerful business lobby panned the Obama administration's
decision to tap the nation's strategic oil reserve Thursday, calling the move "ill-advised."
It's
no time for a presidential vacation. Is there anyone in the White House with nerve enough to
tell Barack Obama that Martha's Vineyard is the last place on earth that the president of the United States
should find himself next week?
President
Obama Celebrates Birthday in Private Star-Studded Rose Garden Party. White House officials
offered no details about the Rose Garden barbecue and birthday party thrown for President Obama last night.
No menu, no guest list, the event did not appear on his official schedule. Ann Compton reports that the
Obama family paid for the celebration out of its own pocket. Their silence might be so as to not create
the impression that the president was celebrating just hours after the Dow Jones fell 500 points.
Politicians hate to be portrayed as fiddling while Rome burns, Nero-style.
Obama's
cheap 'shot'. Nineteen of the 30 families asked for no media coverage of the ceremony at
Dover — that request for privacy was, of course, honored. By everyone, that is, except
Barack Obama. He slipped in a personal photographer, who snapped a dramatic photo of the president
saluting in silhouette.
Obama's
Shameful Photo-Op. Disrespecting grieving families, the president sneaks a photographer into the
ceremony honoring the SEALs who died in Afghanistan. The presidential scrapbook and campaign are more
important.
Michelle and Barack take his-and-hers jets to Martha's Vineyard.
President Barack Obama's much-maligned holiday vacation turned into an even bigger PR nightmare today as it
emerged that he and his wife took separate government jets to Martha's Vineyard just hours apart. ... The
President arrived on this wealthy Massachusetts island retreat as the stock market plunged and a new poll
showed just 11 per cent of Americans are happy with the way things are in the country.
Obamas
Take Two Planes to Martha's Vineyard. The extra costs related to Mrs. Obama's solo trip mainly
include the flight on a specially designed military aircraft she took instead of Air Force One, as well as any
extra staff and Secret Service that had to be enlisted to go with her. She would also have had her own
motorcade from the airport to her vacation residence.
Obama administration rejects Keystone XL pipeline.
The State Department will shoot down the Keystone XL pipeline, closing off a valuable source of oil and discarding
thousands of American jobs. ... Supposedly the State Department might still be willing to entertain an alternative
route for the pipeline... but of course they'd dither forever, the President would repair to the golf course, and
the "alternative route" will end up leading to Beijing.
Glorious
leader seizes Bank of America stadium for the proletariat. If there's one bit of valuable
knowledge we can take away from the last few months, it's that bankers are evil and must be destroyed.
And what better way to undermine them than to take over their symbols of wealth and power, using them for
a 99% higher purpose?
Republicans
fume as Obama rejects Keystone pipeline. In an election-year decision that pits the Democrats' twin
pillars of big labor and environmentalists against each other, the Obama administration Wednesday rejected the
proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline, which would have provided tens of thousands of jobs from the Canadian
border to Texas.
Obama's call a job killer. The
Republicans aren't telling the whole truth when they say Barack Obama doesn't care about jobs. The U.S. president is desperately
worried about one: his own. That's the real reason the Obama administration denied a presidential permit for the
Keystone XL pipeline Wednesday [1/18/2012].
Obama
blows it on Keystone decision. America's unemployment rate stands at 8.5 percent, President
Obama cares about job creation, it's an election year, and it's the week before the State of the Union address.
What an ideal time for the president to approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, the proposed 1,711-mile,
36-inch steel tube that would carry crude from the oil-rich Lake Athabasca region of Canada to the Gulf Coast for
refining. ... Instead, Obama's refusal to approve Keystone is a gift to Republicans that will keep on giving
throughout this campaign year.
Rejecting
the Keystone pipeline is an act of insanity. President Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline
from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico is an act of national insanity. It isn't often that a president makes a decision
that has no redeeming virtues and — beyond the symbolism — won't even advance the goals of the
groups that demanded it. All it tells us is that Obama is so obsessed with his reelection that, through some
sort of political calculus, he believes that placating his environmental supporters will improve his chances.
Obama degrades the office of the President
Barack H. Obama is merely a troublemaker from Chicago. Not only is he demonstrating his incompetence
every day, he is now making it clear that he lacks the dignity, tact, and decorum required in his new job.
This is additional evidence of his incompetence, but even an incompetent fool should be able to keep a civil
tongue for a few years. Common sense (if he has any) should tell him that a televised conversation in
the White House should exclude the language one hears in the back of a city bus.
The national news media's portray Mr. Obama as a stately, one-of-a-kind genius. In reality
he has shown himself to be an uncouth and boorish lout. The problem with having a
unashamedly foul-mouthed president is that his most memorable sound bites are quoted
throughout the monkey-see-monkey-do press.
Disclaimer and apology:
With very few exceptions, this web site does not contain any sentence that I would hesitate to repeat in
church. I regret that the President of the United States has demeaned and degraded his office, but I
also believe that whenever he cheapens our country in such a manner, his acts must not go unchallenged.
Caution: This article lists other "firsts"
in the history of mass-media vulgarity.
Obama and the
language of the locker room. In a Today Show interview on June 7th, President Obama said
that expert input he was getting about the oil spill would help him decide "whose ass to kick." That was
a first. By uttering that line, Obama crossed a line that no president ever crossed before, passing
another milestone in the advance of vulgarity in our culture, and lowering public discourse to a new
nadir. ... [This] was the first time that any president consciously chose to utter a vulgar expression into a
live microphone, knowing — nay, intending — that it would be broadcast far and wide.
About
Obama's overheated and misplaced rhetoric.... The White House has no problem employing violent
rhetoric against profit making enterprise, but is afraid to call terrorism terrorism. It kind of says a
lot about who they view as the enemy, no?
Barry Butches Up.
America was delirious over the inspirational speeches of Barack Obama. After 16 months or so of
non-stop speechifying, he has stupefied us and apparently himself. He goes off teleprompter again to
reveal his true character. He is a bully. I have been calling him this for a while now —
and wrote a couple of American Thinker columns characterizing him as such. He learned his political
lessons in Cook County and his trash-talk on the basketball courts.
We need a leader, not a
politician. Has it come to this again? The president is meeting with his oil spill experts,
he crudely tells us, so that he knows "whose ass to kick." We have become accustomed to his management
style — target a scapegoat, assign blame and go on the attack.
Who
Does President Obama Really Hate? [Scroll down] Every president has to draw a line in the
sand. Every president has to determine just how far he's willing to be pushed around. Every
president has to decide who his enemies are, and then face them down. President Obama has decided that
his real enemies aren't Iranian genocidal dictators, anti-Semitic reporters or Muslim terrorists. His
real enemies are conservatives and corporations. How can we tell? From his rhetoric.
Barack Obama, Frat-Boy-in-Chief?
Does Barack Obama realize he's the President of the United States? I know that seems a silly question to
ask, but he sure doesn't act like it. A more apt description of his actions so far: the
Frat-Boy-in-Chief.
Obama
Loses His Cool. The 24-hour news cycle demands such hot ice cream because any version of the
outlandish is preferred over being "cool." Cool is not well received in a rock 'n' roll culture where
the over-amplified has become the norm and everything else an extension of melodrama or slapstick. To be
considered "sincere," one must get hot for the cameras.
Barack Obama in Search
of A-- to Kick. Just reporting Obama's unrestrained conviction to indecency, with
headlines shrieking, in various stages of paraphrase for sensationalism ... has dragged all who
report his antics to his level of philistine chic, and obligates one to pull on galoshes, then
wade into the journalistic sewer, thus the ascribed title.
The President Said What,
Now? My nine-year-old daughter looked at the front page of the paper, and her eyes grew
wide: The president said "ass"? She swallowed the A-word, because it is, after all,
the A-word. I nodded; he said that. ... "He didn't mean donkey," she said, this being the only
possible explanation. I shook my head. It will now be difficult to tell her not to use that
word; it will now be a matter of time before my wife says, "Well, your daughter was sounding presidential
today," and it won't be a reference to mankind's universal aspirations.
Civilian trials and incarceration for terrorists
Painting a Bull's Eye on New York City.
President Obama's decision to put Khalid Sheikh Mohammed on trial in New York City along with four others
accused of helping destroy the World Trade Center and attack the Pentagon on 9-11 paints a bull's-eye for
terrorists right on New York City, their favorite target. Now Obama has identified where the terrorists
should focus their energies — on New York City.
The
Worst Decision by a US President in History. The Obama administration has taken a giant step in
its march to throw in the towel in the war against radical Islam. ... The administration is justifying its
decisions on the grounds that because the 9/11 attackers targeted civilians they should be tried as
civilians. This makes no sense unless you are a Democrat who believes that the "holy war" that Islamic
jihadists have formally declared on us is no different from the acts of isolated individuals who have decided
to break the law. This is the approach to the war on terror that John Kerry championed in 2004.
Now that Americans have had the poor judgment — the suicidally poor judgment — to
make a leftist their president, this is the strategy our nation is set to pursue.
Welcome to the Big Apple, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed!
Remember, because of liberal bleeding hearts like Barack Obama, Khalid has been advised of his Miranda rights and has
even been given a swine flu shot! Welcome to New York, Sheikh, at least what is left of it after your handiwork!
There is a possible upside to Obama's latest attack on America: Should a New York jury acquit Khalid Sheikh
Mohammed, President Obama will have succeeded in permanently destroying the Democrat party.
Justice Denied. Eric Holder's
move to try the 9/11 masterminds in Manhattan makes it official: This administration has reverted to pre-9/11 "crime"
fighting. Amid all the talk during the attorney general's surreal press conference of the "crime" committed eight
years ago, the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon wasn't even mentioned.
Bringing al-Qaeda to
New York. Candidate Barack Obama urged a return to pre-9/11 counterterrorism-by-courts. President
Obama's Justice Department overflows with lawyers who spent the last eight years representing America's enemies.
Thus, Friday's announcement that top al-Qaeda terrorists will be brought to New York City for a civilian trial is no
surprise. That doesn't make it any less inexcusable.
KSM collects his first virgin. Khalid
Sheikh Mohammed collected the first of his 72 virgins: Barack Obama. ... President Obama's decision to try KSM
as if he were a purse-snatcher bares once and for all shows how shallow our president is. He is ignorant
of history and of legal precedent.
Holder's Hidden Agenda,
cont'd... [Scroll down slowly] We are now going to have a trial that never had to happen for defendants
who have no defense. And when defendants have no defense for their own actions, there is only one thing for their
lawyers to do: put the government on trial in hopes of getting the jury (and the media) spun up over government
errors, abuses and incompetence. That is what is going to happen in the trial of KSM et al.
KSM Hits Manhattan —
Again. Attorney General Eric Holder, who dropped this legal bomb on New York yesterday, called his decision
to move their trial on war crimes from a military courtroom at Guantanamo Bay to American soil "the toughest" he has had
to make. Other words come to mind. For starters, intellectually and morally confused, dangerous and
political to a fault.
What Are They Thinking?
The Left likes to throw around lofty phrases (the "rule of law") and straw men arguments ("If you believe in
the Constitution ..."). But "the law" and the "Constitution" have real meaning, and nothing in
statute or the Constitution requires us to take KSM to New York, douse him with ACLU pixie dust, and give him
all the procedural rights and constitutional protections that a domestic criminal would receive. It is
poppycock on stilts to argue that the Obama team is simply "following the law." They are making it up
and departing from statute and 200 years of legal tradition.
The
Holder Decision: Undermining Our Time-Honored Notions of Citizenship. Through all the coverage
and debate surrounding Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to try five 9/11 jihadists in New York City,
one implication has received little attention: With this momentous decision he has cheapened the
value of U.S. citizenship.
America on Trial.
In the annals of poor political judgment, the Obama administration's decision to try 9/11 mastermind Khaled
Sheikh Mohammed and four other Guantanamo Bay-based terrorist detainees in a New York City federal court may
yet rank as a blunder without peer in American history.
Trial and
Terror. The decision to bring Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other top al-Qaeda terrorists
to New York City for a civilian trial is one of the most irresponsible ever made by a presidential
administration. That it is motivated by politics could not be more obvious. That it spells
unprecedented danger for our security will soon become obvious.
Obama's NYC
Show: Starring Khalid Mohammed. Quite simply, the dynamic duo of Barack Obama and his
attorney general, Eric Holder, devised a way to put President Bush on trial after all. Among the five
to be tried in New York City is the mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, whose confessions were
obtained via the Bush administration's use of "illegal torture." I guess the Obama administration figured
it might look fishy to shuttle Mohammed alone to NYC, so they indicted four others to accompany him.
Bowing to "World
Opinion". In the string of amazing decisions made during the first year of the Obama administration,
nothing seems more like sheer insanity than the decision to try foreign terrorists, who have committed acts of war
against the United States, in federal court, as if they were American citizens accused of crimes. Terrorists
are not even entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention, much less the Constitution of the United States.
What's Eric Holder
Up To? Aside from the obvious security concerns, a real risk is the trial turning into a farce.
"The terrorists are going to do everything they can to disrupt it and make it a circus and allow them to use
it as a platform to push their ideology," says Michigan Rep. Pete Hoekstra, the ranking Republican on the
House intelligence committee.
The Fullest Extent of the Law.
The Obama administration is presumably bringing terrorists to trial in New York on an assumption that not
only is there proof beyond a reasonable doubt, but also that even if the defendants were acquitted, or the
jury hung, or subpoenaed Bush administration officials refused to testify, or a judge ruled that the trial
cannot continue after the prosecution refuses to disclose national-security secrets, the defendants will
still not be allowed to go free — hence Democratic Sen. Jack Reed's confident assertion that
"international law" will permit the defendants' continued detention after trial, regardless of its result.
Civil Trials for Jihadists and Obama's Third
World Vision for America. I can think of a number of motives President Barack Obama might
have for his egregious decision to bring Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other high-profile al-Qaida
terrorists to New York for trial in our civil courts. Regardless of which motives apply, one thing is
clear: Our enemy is at war against us while we are in a suicidal, 9/10 state of denial.
A Double-Blow to the Laws of
War. The Goldstone report and the decision to try Khalid Sheik Mohammed in federal court undermine
fundamental principles of law accepted in the West since the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. The Westphalian peace
and the body of law that followed empowered the armies of nation-states and weakened non-national armies associated with
religious movements or ideologies, as well as the mercenary bands and bandits that had plagued Europe for hundreds
of years.
Obama's Broken Promises.
[Scroll down] Obama continues to be torn between his campaign rhetoric and reality. If terrorism
is a crime, why not try all suspects in civilian courts? The administration's decision to try some
terrorists in military tribunals is an acknowledgement that the tribunals are not inherently unjust, and
that at least some acts of terror are acts of war. If the tribunals are not unjust, as Holder tacitly
admits, then why not try all terror suspects there?
As you read the next three articles,
remember: Obama is a lawyer. He knows better than to say what he said.
More
Obamateur Hour. In a meeting with the press in China, President Obama said that Khalid Sheikh
Mohammed would be "convicted" and had "the death penalty applied to him" ... and then said he wasn't
"pre-judging" the case. ... He has given the defense its first motion that the executive branch, indeed
the president himself, is tainting the jury pool.
Obama vows 9/11 fiend will
get death — then backs off. For a moment, he became judge, jury and executioner.
President Obama yesterday blurted out a predicted conviction and death sentence for 9/11 mastermind Khalid
Sheik Mohammed — then sheepishly qualified the prejudgment.
Obama in Wonderland. Now,
this is the model of criminal justice that the President wants to showcase for the entire world. The U.S. is
going to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in a federal court in Manhattan. ... Obama tells the world that we are going to
give a fair trial to the man who admitted — prior to being given his proper Miranda warning — that
he orchestrated the worst incident of terrorism to strike the American homeland in our history. We say we are
going to give a fair trial to this man. He is going to be found guilty, the President tells us. And,
Mr. Obama continues, he is going to get the death penalty.
Role of ACLU
Decisive in Moving KSM Trial to New York. Eric Holder called his decision to try the suspected
plotters of 9/11 in New York City "the toughest decision I've had to make as attorney general." It was
unarguably the most controversial one. In my opinion, it was also the stupidest one. The decision
has rightly received plenty of criticism, but what has not been talked about is the months of lobbying behind
closed doors that made this happen. Meanwhile, one of the major players responsible for pushing this is
popping the cork and cheering the decision. That the ACLU cheers this latest attack on American national
security is no surprise.
As Usual,
Holder Undone by Holder. [Attorney General] Holder absurdly claimed that he believed it would
be easier to get a conviction in civilian court — notwithstanding that the more lax evidentiary
standards in military commissions make it easier for the government to get its proof admitted. And that's
beside the fact that the jihadists wanted to plead guilty and proceed to execution in their military commission.
(In Holder-world, conviction in an unpredictable civilian trial two years from now is somehow a surer thing
than a military commission in which the defendants asked to plead guilty eleven months ago.)
The War On Terror On Trial.
Attorney General Holder's testimony on Wednesday [11/18/2009] provided no credible rationale for sending the
9/11 conspirators into the civilian federal court system. This is 100% politics. Steam was
pouring out of Eric Holder's ears after Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., quoted from former federal prosecutor Andrew
McCarthy's National Review article this week. McCarthy described Holder as "a lawyer whose firm is
among those responsible for the litigation-driven delay that became a lawfare triumph for al-Qaida."
Holder Can't Say Whether Osama Bin Laden Would Be
Tried in Civilian or Military Court. Attorney General Eric Holder, under close questioning by
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), couldn't say what the United States would do with al-Qaeda terrorist Osama bin
Laden if we ever caught him. Holder testified Wednesday [11/18/2009] before the Senate Judiciary
Committee about why he chose to bring Bin Laden's lieutenant — suspected 9/11 mastermind
Khalid Shekh Mohammed (KSM) — to the U.S. to be tried in a civilian federal court in
New York City rather than before a military tribunal.
Why
it's a mistake to bring Gitmo prisoners here. Of all the changes Barack Obama is trying to
bring about, there is one that would have stunned and dismayed his most ardent supporters, had they foreseen
it during the presidential campaign. After all his talk of American values and loyalty to the
Constitution, Obama is positioning himself to become the man who brought indefinite detention to the
United States.
Holder's True Motive.
[Scroll down] At last clearing those obstacles, the government initiated Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's military
trial in Guantanamo in September 2008. In December, KSM pleaded guilty and asked to be executed.
But now, the attorney general puffs out his chest and declares that by trying KSM in an Article III federal
court, he has chosen the forum "most likely to lead to a positive result."
Leahy Lunacy. We noted
last night that under the Obama administration's law-enforcement approach to terrorism, if we capture Osama
bin Laden the first things we'll have to do are read him his rights and get him a free lawyer. When
Lindsay Graham pointed this out to Eric Holder in yesterday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Holder
feebly responded that maybe we wouldn't have to Mirandize bin Laden because the evidence against him is
"overwhelming." This answer was essentially nonsensical, but Pat Leahy amplified it this morning
[11/19/2009], in a further effort at spin control.
Jury of peers. A
jury of one's peers is a guaranteed right of criminal defendants in the U.S. justice system. Shamefully, a jury
of American "equals" is bestowed upon Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the al Qaeda mastermind of: the Sept. 11
terrorist attacks; the slaughter of 3,000 innocent Americans; and kneecapping the U.S. economy. His partners in
terror are being gifted that same right.
The Obama/Holder Bushwhack.
"This [the death penalty] is what I want. I'm looking to be martyr for long time," KSM told the military judge at the
arraignment June 5, 2008: At a pre-trial hearing Dec. 9, KSM again told the judge, "We don't want to waste
time. We want to enter a plea." Rather than dispatching KSM to his reward as quickly as possible, Attorney
General Eric Holder announced on Nov. 13 the administration's decision to prosecute KSM in a civilian court in
New York City and their intention to dismiss the charges pending in Guantánamo Bay.
Eric Holder's
Horrible Hearing. Jon Kyl, the Arizona Republican, raised cheers from the gallery with his
sharp questioning of Holder, who contended that his decision to bring 9/11 terrorists to civilian courts
was based, not on politics, but on where he'd have the best shot at conviction. "How could you be more
likely to get a conviction in federal court when Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has already asked to plead guilty to
a military commission and be executed," he asked. "How can you be more likely to get a conviction in
a [civilian] court than that?"
Eric Holder's
Baffling KSM Decision. On Wednesday [11/18/2009], the Senate Judiciary Committee met to question Attorney
General Eric Holder about his decision to prosecute Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others in criminal courts
rather than military tribunals. As the father of Todd Beamer, who died on United Airlines Flight 93,
I was able to attend that hearing. What transpired caused me great concern and shook my confidence
in our current administration.
Obama's Boss Demands Show Trials.
Attorney General Eric Holder's abominable plot to try self proclaimed 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM) in
a New York criminal court is an affront but not inscrutable. Team O is, as in all other policies, doing
the bidding of Obama's boss, unrepentant Nazi collaborator, George Soros; he's been a rabid critic of the
war on terror for years.
Not A Trial, But A Terrorist
Soapbox. Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to try five 9/11 plotters by a civilian court in
New York rather than a military tribunal at Gitmo is already paying dividends — for the terrorists.
So much for e pluribus unum.
Sen. Conrad Suggests That People Who Don't Believe in
Civilian Trials for Terrorists Should Leave America. Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) told
CNSNews.com that civilian courts are well-suited to prosecute al Qaeda terrorists and that "if people don't
believe in our system, maybe they ought to go somewhere else."
Senator
Conrad's insulting defense of trying KSM in New York. Democrat Senator from North Dakota,
Kent Conrad, while defending the Obama Administration's decision to try al Qaeda terrorists in civilian
courts, said: "If people don't believe in our system, maybe they ought to go somewhere else."
Why
the gov't could lose this case. By the real-world standard of how lawyers act, Attorney
General Eric Holder's professed certainty about his decision to try Khalid Sheik Mohammed and his
co-defendants in federal court is strictly (pardon the expression) "bush." It's an old adage
among litigators that you're not a real trial lawyer until you've won an unwinnable case and lost
an unloseable one. Lawyers in private practice know — and make sure their clients
know — that litigation is a chancy business.
American people smarter than
Holder or Obama. You have to admit there is a nice sense of justice to the idea of holding a trial in New
York. But the problems far outweigh any "feel good" emotions such a trial would elicit. You can't give in to the
idea of "justice coming full circle" just to satisfy our feelings of pay back — not when security and the
integrity of the court system itself is at stake.
I'm
Not An Attorney, But Eric Holder Is Dangerous. [Scroll down] Mr. Holder's vacuous responses to
even the simplest of questions should be deemed "unacceptable" by all Americans — even attorneys.
What happens to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, if he is acquitted? "Failure is not an option" Mr. Holder explained
in a Senate inquiry. Oh yeah? What about that thing called "due process?" Has the outcome of this
trial been pre-determined? Are we to understand that "the fix is in?"
Cheney Goes There: Obama's
Treason. [Scroll down slowly] Cheney's choice of words in his most recent
interview with Hannity were not random shots: "I mean that the — I think it'll [the
KSM trial] give aid and comfort to the enemy. I think it will make Khalid Sheikh Mohammed
something of a hero in certain circles, especially in the radical regions of Islam around the world."
Aid and comfort to the enemy fits precisely into the constitutional definition of treason.
The Law and
the Attorney General. We have seen an explosion of antagonism regarding the decision to bring
KSM and his cohorts into New York City to stand trial. This is not by accident either. This
decision by Attorney General Holder, and President Obama to bring these terrorists to New York is one
of three things: Incredibly naive, reckless disregard of the law, or treason against the people
of the United States.
Gitmo by
the Lake. The Obama administration's plan to move terrorist detainees from the security of
Guantanamo Bay to a little-used state prison in Illinois is being hailed by supportive Democrats as a boon
for local economic development. Even if the development were truly a boon — and it's
more a boondoggle — that would not come close to justifying it. National security is not a
shovel-ready jobs program.
Obama
Brings the Gitmolympics Home. President Obama's hometown cronies lost their bid to bring the
2016 Olympic Games to the Windy City. But this week they got a consolation prize: the Gitmolympics.
On Tuesday [12/15/2009], the White House went public with its official plans to purchase the Thomson Correctional
Facility from financially strapped Illinois to house Guantanamo Bay detainees. The War on Terror meets the
Chicago Way.
Treating
terrorism as an ordinary crime. [Scroll down] In President Obama's America, a man charged
with brandishing a knife during a failed attempt to rob a local eatery could get more prison time than an
aspiring suicide bomber who tried unsuccessfully to ignite explosives that would have incinerated him and
nearly 300 other passengers and crew members on board Flight 253. This disparity unmasks the illogic
of dealing with Islamic terrorists as if they are mere criminal defendants deserving of the same
constitutional rights as common thieves.
Obama's Progressive
Goose and Our Conservative Gander: Obama's decision to prosecute Khalid Sheik Mohammed in a
civilian court is bizarre, to say the least. Yet it has earned him a lot of brownie points on the left
as a transparently obvious scheme to put George Bush on trial.
Jailhouse Crock.
On the same day three inmates break out of an Illinois prison, a state legislative panel approves selling
another Illinois prison to the feds to house former Gitmo detainees. What is wrong with this
picture? ... As long as we treat terrorists like Khalid Sheik Mohammed and Abdulmutallab as common criminals
who knocked off a convenience store, we are doomed to lose the war on terror. They are not petty
crooks. They are enemy combatants who like to blow up planes or have them flown into buildings.
FBI Director: I wasn't consulted on how to charge
Abdulmutallab. At a Judiciary Committee hearing today [1/20/2010], ranking Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions
asked Mueller, "Who made the decision that Abdulmutallab was going to be treated as a criminal rather than an
enemy belligerent?" The answer: the agents on the scene, with no input from the FBI director.
Reversing Obama's Worst Decision
Yet? The president was hammered for his clueless reserve and the Keystone Kops response to the
Christmas Day bombing. So now being "not Bush" doesn't seem like such a good idea. It was born of
arrogance and from a distorted view of the nature of our enemy.
Explosive New Book Charges Obama Invites Attack
on U.S.. Today, if you asked an average person on the street what they know about the 2006 airlines
plot, most would not be able to tell you much. Few Americans are aware of the fact that al Qaeda had
planned to mark the fifth anniversary of 9/11 with an attack of similar scope and magnitude. And still
fewer realize that the terrorists' true intentions in this plot were uncovered thanks to critical information
obtained through the interrogation of the man who conceived it: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
'Duh'.
"We did not invoke the HIG in this case; we should have," Mr. Blair said. "Frankly, we were thinking more
of overseas people and, duh, you know, we didn't put it [in action] here." That's our emphasis, and
we put it there to underscore the scale of the intelligence blunder that was committed when Abdulmutallab was
remanded to FBI custody, where he reportedly talked to investigators until advised by counsel not to.
Lawmakers to Holder: Who decided to give Miranda rights to
accused Detroit bomber? All seven Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee have signed a
letter to Attorney General Eric Holder seeking to learn who made the decision to treat Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab,
the accused Christmas Day terrorist bomber, as a criminal suspect rather than an enemy combatant.
McConnell:
Who Gave the Christmas Day Bomber the Right to Remain Silent? [Scroll down] We know —
from the testimony yesterday [1/20/2010] — that four of the nation's top counterterrorism officials were
not asked for their views on handling Abdulmutallab as a criminal... So who, exactly, was consulted? And
who — a name would be helpful — made that final decision? [Senator Mitch] McConnell
reveals that he took that question to John Brennan, President Obama's top counterterrorism adviser, who refused
to answer three times. And that alone raises several additional troubling questions.
Come
clean, Mr. Holder. Whose side is the Justice Department on: America's — or the
terrorists'? It's just insane that a lawyer who defended Osama bin Laden's driver and bodyguard —
and who sought constitutional rights for terrorists — could be one of the Obama administration's top
legal officials. But there's Neal Katyal, occupying a top perch at the Justice Department as the
principal deputy solicitor general.
Rigging the
Numbers: [Scroll down] "We need to develop a greater resiliency in this country on
security issues," Sarah E. Mendelson of the Center for Strategic and International Studies told the
New York Times. "The administration needs to remind the American public that we have convicted
195 international terrorists in federal courts since 2001." That 195 number is making the rounds.
It is both false and an exercise in hypocrisy.
Obama's folly: This
afternoon the Justice Department released Attorney General Holder's five-page letter to Senate Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell on the case of Umar Abdulmutallab. The letter is powerful evidence of the damage wrought
by the three pillars of Obamaism. Holder first takes responsibility for the treatment of Abdulmutallab
as a criminal defendant, with the agreement of the Obama administration's entire national security apparatus...
Holder
Admits He Made Decision to Charge Abdulmutallab as Criminal Defendent. Attorney General
Eric Holder has sent a letter defending the decision to charge Abdulmutallab as a criminal and read
him his Miranda rights.
The Attorney General
Speaks — and Says Nothing. Attorney General Eric Holder has penned a five-page response to
senators who demanded answers about his decision to Mirandize and charge Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Christmas Day
bomber, as a criminal defendant. It is a full-bore justification of the law-enforcement approach to combating
terrorism, and despite its length, it does nothing to solve his problems.
Obama's Attorney General (for
now). [Scroll down] Holder, in short, utterly failed to build support for what he bragged would be
the "trial of the century." Even liberal pundits were left sputtering that Holder had botched what was to be the
showcase for the criminal justice approach to fighting terrorism. Holder is now on the hot seat for his decision
to mirandize Abdulmutallab, indict him in federal court, and permit him to remain silent for weeks.
Holder's
Premature Mirandization of Suspect. Republicans have been hitting the Obama administration for Attorney
General Eric Holder's too-quick decision to Mirandize accused Christmas bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab after a mere
50 minutes of what has been described as valuable interrogation. After the Miranda moment, the would-be bomber
clammed up.
Obama's
Three Hundred Imaginary Terrorists: In justifying Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's civilian trial, the
Obama administration is fond of citing a seemingly slam-dunk factoid: 300 other terrorists are currently
sitting in federal prisons after being tried in civilian court. One problem: that number seems
to have come out of nowhere.
Poll:
Americans don't want 9/11 terror trials in New York — or any court. It's not just New
Yorkers who don't want terror thugs tried in their backyard. A majority of Americans also disagree with
President Obama's plan to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed in civilian courts, a Quinnipiac
University poll found.
Padilla
Proves the Weaknesses of the Civilian Justice System. Padilla is actually the case that best
shows the limitations and inadequacies of the civilian justice system as applied to enemy combatants.
This fact is obscured because, as the Left keeps repeating, he was eventually transferred from military
custody to the civilian justice system, where he was convicted. Here's what they never tell you:
He was not convicted of the most important plot we had against him — the conspiracy with KSM, Binyam
Mohammed, and others to carry out a second wave of post-9/11 attacks inside the United States. He was
never indicted on that plot because he could not be convicted applying civilian due process standards.
Mukasey Ends
Obama's Miranda Misinformation. The Obama administration has been excoriated by Democrats,
Republicans, and the media for their myopic, irresponsible, potentially dangerous, and amateur handling
of Failed Flight 253 Bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Refusing to acknowledge the reality of their
failure, the Obama administration has instead chosen to make a series of fantastic claims that have
no basis in reality.
More Miranda Idiocy:
Reasonable people disagree about how much coercion interrogators should use to extract potentially lifesaving
information from terrorists. (None at all, President Obama unwisely ordered soon after taking office.)
But no reasonable person could doubt that starting out with "you have the right to remain silent" is not the
way to save lives.
Common Criminals or
Enemy Combatants? Obama the president must be regretting what Obama the candidate often said
so eloquently, and even candidly, against Bush's policies. The candidate never wasted an opportunity
to fiercely criticize the Texan as one more way to distance himself from the former president's stance on
almost every issue. By doing that, Obama painted himself into a corner.
Why hold a trial
for a terrorist who has confessed? The Obama administration considers and reconsiders where
and/or whether to hold a civilian trial in the United States for the 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed
(KSM). What a lot of the American public may not know or remember is that KSM has confessed not only to the
murders of 3,000 Americans in the World Trade Center in 2001, but to many other terrorist attacks and deaths.
DOJ: Department Of Jihad?
From the dropping of a voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party to the decision to try 9/11
mastermind Khalid Sheik Muhammed in a civilian court within blocks of where the World Trade Center once stood, the
actions and attitudes of the Justice Department and Attorney General Eric Holder toward the thugs and terrorists who
threaten us has grown curiouser and curiouser.

A rapidly expanding welfare state
Back on Uncle
Sam's Plantation. A vast sea of perhaps well intentioned government programs, all initially set
into motion in the 1960's, that were going to lift the nation's poor out of poverty. A benevolent Uncle
Sam welcomed mostly poor black Americans onto the government plantation. Those who accepted the
invitation switched mindsets from "How do I take care of myself?" to "What do I have to do to stay on the
plantation?" Instead of solving economic problems, government welfare socialism created monstrous moral
and spiritual problems. The kind of problems that are inevitable when individuals turn responsibility
for their lives over to others.
Ending Welfare Reform as We
Knew It. Pres. Barack Obama vowed to correct the mistakes of the Bush administration but instead is determined
to undo one of the great successes of the Clinton years: welfare reform. Democrats have inserted provisions into
the catch-all stimulus bill that will reverse Clinton-era welfare reform, re-establishing the wasteful, incentivekilling
system whose transformation was the bipartisan pride of the 1990s. Prior to reform, the federal government simply
gave the states more money for every family they added to the welfare rolls. The predictable result was that the
states worked hard to maximize their welfare caseloads in order to maximize the amount of federal funding they could
therefore claim. The system had zero incentive to help people make the transition from welfare to work and
independence ... .
The
Hapless Have Their Hands Out. I have seen the future of the American economy, and it's waiting
for a handout in Fort Myers, Fla. On Tuesday [2/10/2009], America got to watch as proud members of the new Obama
Nation lined up at a town hall microphone to ask not what they could do for our country, but what our new
president was going to do for them.
Get Ready for the Robert Reich
Workfare State. We're going to pay poor people to inflate our tires and tell us how to save energy. Yes,
really.
Obama warned over
'welfare spendathon'. Robert Rector, a prominent welfare researcher who was one of the architects
of Clinton's 1996 reform bill, warned last week that Obama's stimulus plan was a "welfare spendathon" that
would amount to the largest one-year increase in government handouts in American history. Douglas
Besharov, author of a big study on welfare reform, said the stimulus bill passed by Congress and the
Senate in separate votes on Friday [2/13/2009] would "unravel" most of the 1996 reforms that led
to a 65% reduction in welfare caseloads and prompted the British and several other governments
to consider similar measures.
Obama's
Job-Creation Program Flunks Basic Math. There are currently about 10 million unemployed
workers in the U.S. "If we write a check for $75,000 to each of the unemployed, we won't have anyone
'unemployed,'" said former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill. The recipients may not be working in the
traditional sense of going to the office each day, but the government can provide for their needs without
anyone having to lift a finger.
Peggy the
Moocher. Who is Peggy the Moocher? She's Peggy Joseph, a voter in Sarasota, Fla., who
exulted earlier this week at a Barack Obama rally that this was "the most memorable time of my life."
Why? As she told a Florida reporter on a YouTube video that has been viewed by hundreds of thousands:
"Because I never thought this day would ever happen. I won't have to worry about putting gas in my
car. I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know. If I help [Obama], he's
gonna help me."

Back
to the welfare state, as we knew it. If the recently enacted $787. billion economic "stimulus"
package is intended to save or create jobs, why does it encourage states to move people from work back to
welfare?. Yes, you read that correctly.. With virtually no debate on the issue, Congress approved
the new law with provisions that effectively reverse the historic welfare reform law of 1996.
Obama's Stimulus:
By setting limits on government handouts, the 1996 welfare reform encouraged welfare recipients to get
jobs or job training, to make themselves self-sufficient and to end their long-term dependency on
government. The Obama stimulus plan increases the taxpayers' money that the federal government
gives to the states for welfare, and reverses incentives by giving bonuses to states that put more
people on welfare.
Exploding
Debt Load for a Bunch of Freeloaders. Emblazoned on every page of President Obama's budget are
the words: "A New Era of Responsibility." That would be a responsibility for you to fork over more
taxes. That would be a responsibility for your company to pay even higher taxes. That would be a
responsibility for you to foot the bill for one of the largest expansions of government welfare in history.
Secretly ending
welfare reform. Welfare reform in the mid-1990s was a major public policy success, leading to a
dramatic reduction in welfare dependency and child poverty. Little-noted provisions in the just-passed
stimulus bill will actually abolish this historic reform.
'Change' we can't afford.
Buried in President Obama's new economic stimulus law is a reversal of the very successful welfare reform legislation of
1996. President Clinton signed it into law with bipartisan support. In the House, 98 Democrats and
230 Republicans voted for the bill while 25 Democrats and 53 Republicans supported it in the Senate. The
welfare-reform legislation, which was known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, was designed to do three
things ...

Obama the gas-guzzling limousine liberal
Yes, I know that security concerns go with every president, but President Obama is a man who wants all of us
to drive tiny little cars and keep our tires
inflated properly so we won't waste a drop of gasoline, while he rides around in a "land yacht." Of
course there are a number of other celebrities who
engage in the same two-faced environmentalism.
Barack
Obama's car could fuel more problems. President-elect Obama has stressed the need for energy
independence — but he'll be chauffeured around in a gas-guzzling Cadillac SUV limo that could pose
a symbolism problem similar to the car controversy that dogged his friend and ally, Gov. Deval Patrick.
Obama's presidential ride, dubbed "Cadillac One," will reportedly be a mammoth, custom-made Cadillac limo
built like a GMC truck that sits on 19-inch wheels.
Green Obama's official
limo is a gas guzzler. On the campaign trail, Barack Obama promised to get a million plug-in hybrid
cars on the road by 2015. His own new presidential limousine will be far from green, however. The
Obamobile being prepared for the president-elect is said to be a monster gas-guzzler made by General Motors, the
troubled car giant. It will look like a black Cadillac but is built like a tank.
Obama's Presidential Limo.
The inauguration of Barack Obama will not only bring about a wholesale turnover in the political leadership of
the country but it will also unveil the newest in a long line of Presidential limos. According to
Presidential vehicle experts, the new limo is a beast-like General Motors truck-based Cadillac that is so
tough it's like a 'rolling tank with windows.'
Obama's new 'Beast'
unleashed. Nicknamed "the Beast", Barack Obama's new drive is a hulking, snazzed-up upgrade from
previous presidential limousines, and will give him a better view of his inaugural parade than his predecessor.
Photos of the unfinished Cadillac leaked on the internet showed a hefty customised behemoth, reportedly tough
enough to withstand a rocket-propelled grenade — and some joked, even an asteroid.
New limo reflects a president's
priorities. For most of the 20th century, presidential automobiles had to reconcile competing imperatives,
the first for safety and the second for symbolism. It's a testament to a free and stable democracy that its leader
can move with relative ease and visibility among its people. For the president to be transported in an obviously
armored car suggests an unquiet nation, a place of putsches and lurking coups. Even at the height of World War II,
Franklin D. Roosevelt frequently traveled in his open touring car, a 1939 Lincoln V12 tellingly nicknamed the
"Sunshine Special."
Hi-Ho, the
Derry-O. Let's say you're preparing dinner and you realize with dismay that you don't have any
certified organic Tuscan kale. What to do? Here's how Michelle Obama handled this very
predicament Thursday afternoon [9/17/2009]: The Secret Service and the D.C. police brought in three
dozen vehicles and shut down H Street, Vermont Avenue, two lanes of I Street and an entrance to the
McPherson Square Metro station. ... Though the produce stand was only a block or so from the White House, the
first lady hopped into her armored limousine and pulled into the market amid the wail of sirens.

Ten Green Auto Headlines of 2009. On inauguration day, Barack Obama launched his War on Global
Warming. In 30-degree Washington weather — twelve degrees below normal — he
scolded the assembled shivering hordes that "we will work tirelessly to ... roll back the
specter of a warming planet." Then he climbed into his brand new, gas-guzzling,
GMC-Topkick-truck-platform-based Caddy limo (dubbed "The Beast" by the Secret Service) and led the
parade down Pennsylvania Avenue flanked by an armada of giant GM SUVs.

rewards Hollywood donors. Why the rush to help Hollywood? Well, midterms are
approaching, the Democratic Party is held in high disregard by many Americans, and the fundraising is
reflecting its bad poll numbers. So why not go where the money is? This is Cook County
pay-to-play politics writ large.
Obama doesn't travel light.
President Barack Obama had a simple task for his first morning on vacation: shoot over to a Martha's
Vineyard book store to fill out his daughters' summer reading list and grab himself a novel. Easier
said than done. His sports utility vehicle, part of a 20-vehicle motorcade, passed through a cordon of
Massachusetts State Police motorcycle officers, in a protective cocoon of Secret Service agents. Tagging
along for the quick trip on Friday were White House communications trucks, an ambulance and two vans full of
reporters and photographers.
Obama has one set of rules for you, and another for him.
Presidential
limousine exempt from fed 'green' vehicle policy. The U.S. Secret Service said today [4/1/2011]
that some federal vehicles for law enforcement and security purposes will be exempt from President
Barack Obama's directive that all federal vehicles purchased starting 2015 be advanced technology
models. Secret Service spokesman Robert Novy said the directive wouldn't apply to vehicles
used for some law enforcement or security reasons by various federal agencies.
Earth
Day Ends Obama's 53,300 Gallon Trip. President Obama declared today's 41st annual Earth Day
proof of America's ecological and conservation spirit — then completed a three-day campaign-style
trip logging 10,666 miles on Air Force One, eating up some 53,300 gallons at a cost of about $180,000.
And that doesn't include the fuel consumption of his helicopter, limo, or the 29 other vehicles that
travel with that car.
Will consumers revolt against the Volt?
In a March 30 speech in Washington, Mr. Obama announced his mandate that 100% of the federal vehicle fleet
be "advanced technology" vehicles by 2015. This means that every vehicle in the federal fleet —
some 600,000 currently — will have to be a hybrid or electric vehicle. In an extraordinary
coincidence of the kind so common during the Age of Obama, General Electric — headed by Jeffrey
Immelt, the chief of the president's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness — will contribute to
the brave new "advanced technology" future by buying at least 12,000 Chevy Volts. ... Mr. Obama's mandate,
of course, has a loophole that exempts him, allowing him to travel in style in enormous, conventional SUVs.
Obama
Ireland visit: Multi-million dollar team of 500 staff. It may be a flying 24-hour visit —
but US President Barack Obama is not travelling lightly. A multi-million dollar entourage of 500 staff,
a fleet of decoy helicopters and amour-plated [sic] limousines will move towards the Aras after Air Force One
touches down this morning [5/23/2011].
The
car that thinks it's a tank: Inside Obama's 'Beast' Cadillac. An extraordinary entourage will
accompany President Obama and his wife Michelle when they sweep into London tomorrow [5/24/2011]. The
team of at least 500 will include White House aides, a six-doctor medical team and a squad of personal chefs.
There will be more than 200 secret service agents, many of them armed. The President will travel in 'The
Beast', his gigantic bomb-proof General Motors Cadillac with eight-inch thick armour-plating on its doors.
The limousine will be accompanied by a motorcade of at least 20 vehicles plus a dozen police motorcycle
outriders.
'Limousine
Liberals' Report Shows Government Limo Fleet Swelling. Obama administration officials are
riding in style. A new report from a watchdog group shows that the number of limousines owned by the
federal government rose by 73 percent during the first two years of President Obama's administration.
The State Department was the recipient of most the new luxury vehicles.
Number
of government-owned limos has soared under Obama. Limousines, the very symbol of wealth and
excess, are usually the domain of corporate executives and the rich. But the number of limos owned by
Uncle Sam increased by 73 percent during the first two years of the Obama administration, according to
an analysis of records by iWatch News. Most of the increase was recorded in Hillary Clinton's
State Department.
Leave No Limo Behind.
They are buying limousines in Washington. Lots of them. The number of government limousines
increased by 73 percent during the first two years of the Obama administration. The official
justification for the acquisition (with borrowed Chinese money) of all this rolling stock is "security."
Our bureaucrats, it seems, are not safe riding around in ordinary vehicles or, perish the thought, driving
themselves to work. This, it seems, is especially true of those brave souls who toil at the State
Department, which is where most of the limos have been put into service.
Top 10 Examples Proving Obama Wants High Energy Prices.
Like Al Gore, who preaches about reducing greenhouse-gas emissions while consuming enormous amounts of energy
for his personal use, President Obama is using up all the energy he can. His frequent global excursions
and vacations with his large entourage gobble up enough energy to power a small town, or even John Edwards'
house. All the more galling as he recently lectured Georgetown University students to cut back on
their gasoline consumption.

said he was declining to comment on the question for "security purposes."

Obama accepts the Nobel Prize
Why the Left Fears You:
The only trouble with Obama's phony humility is that narcissists like him rarely change. The Norwegians
gave him a Nobel Peace Prize just for getting elected, but they should have given him an Academy Award. This
is world-class conmanship. Behind the scenes he's more arrogant than ever.
The Nobel Prize Curse.
[Scroll down] The global warming thesis received several body blows this year not yet adequately aired by the
legacy media. The first is the NASA data glitch, a software failure that kicked all temperature records up several
tenths of a degree. The second is the investigation of automated weather stations by meteorologist Anthony Watts,
who discovered that a large fraction of the nation's 1,200 stations have been mis-sited ... Taken alone, either of these
developments is damning. Taken together, they demolish the very basis of the warming argument. Warming was
postulated from long-term changes in basic temperature data. What happens when that data has to be thrown out?
The Prophylactic Peace Prize.
The Nobel Peace Prize has now become, like the American literary Pulitzer, a certification of political correctness.
The Nobel nominating process closed a mere two weeks after Barak Obama took office. With less than a year in office,
Obama's prize can not be based on anything except campaign rhetoric and dubious liberal expectations.
What did Obama do to win
the Nobel Peace Prize?. [Scroll down] But while it is OK to give school children prizes for
"effort" — my kids get them all the time — I think international statesmen should probably
be held to a higher standard. It is also very odd timing. In the next couple of weeks, Obama is likely
to yield to the wishes of his generals and to send many thousands more troops to Afghanistan.
A Nobel for a Good Two
Weeks? This is ridiculous — embarrassing, even. I admire President Obama. I like
President Obama. I voted for President Obama. But the peace prize? This is supposed to be for doing, not
being — and it's no disrespect to the president to suggest he hasn't done much yet. Certainly not enough
to justify the peace prize.
Obama's Nobel Farce:
I had always thought the way these things worked was that you helped bring peace or democracy to some corner of the globe
first, and then you won the Nobel Prize. But this year, the Nobel Committee has turned that logic around: It
clearly likes what Obama is trying to do: on nuclear disarmament, climate change and Middle East peace — and so, in a
"preemptive" strike, it's giving him the award now, in hopes that doing so will boost his chances of success later.
Inhofe:
Obama received Nobel Peace Prize for "de-emphasizing defense". Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, said Friday [10/9/2009]
that he thinks President Barack Obama got the prize for "de-emphasizing defense in favor of multi-national cooperation," an
approach with which Inhofe disagrees. The senator cited the Obama administration's cancellation or cutbacks in weapons
systems like the F-22 and the Army's Future Combat System and the cancellation of a missile defense program in Poland.
ABC's
Charles Gibson: 'Humble' Obama Won Nobel Prize Because He 'Inspires'. Anchoring live coverage on
Friday [10/9/2009] of Barack Obama's speech about receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, ABC's Charles Gibson enthused that
the President won the award because he inspires.
Kenyans celebrate as Obama wins Nobel Peace
Prize. Kenyan radio shows interrupted their programming Friday [10/9/2009] and bus conductors shouted the
news from the windows: President Barack Obama had won the Nobel Peace Prize.
For whom Nobel tolls. President Barack
Obama's Nobel Peace Prize is quickly turning from a singular honor into a gold-medal headache, as even supporters call it
premature and critics say it proves he's a darling of the international elite.
Absurd decision on Obama makes
a mockery of the Nobel peace prize. The award of this year's Nobel peace prize to President Obama will be
met with widespread incredulity, consternation in many capitals and probably deep embarrassment by the President himself.
Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent.
Can
a sitting president receive a Nobel Peace Prize?. There's a problem for President Obama's Nobel Peace
Prize victory and it's not his inexperience. From Article I, Section 9 of "that neglected curio," the
U.S. Constitution: "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any
Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument,
Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."
The Michael Moore of Oslo.
The Nobel Committee chose him wisely because he does, in fact, represent the organization's highest ideals. He is an
American president queasy about the projection of American power. He is an American president who rejects the notion
of American exceptionalism. He is an American president eagerly in pursuit of legitimacy to be granted him not by
those who voted for him but by those who do not cast a vote and who chafe at American leadership.
Obama
has won the Nobel Peace Prize simply because he's not George Bush. Today the Norwegian Nobel Committee
announced they have awarded this year's £1.1m Peace Prize to Barack Obama. They say it is in recognition for
his achievements in — well, it's hard to figure just what they say his achievements have been. All
they talk about are his 'efforts,' not his achievements, and those efforts have all been aimed at reversing the Bush
foreign policy.
Limbaugh: 'Greater embarrassment' than losing
Olympics. Conservatives pounced on the the Nobel Prize committee's decision to award President Barack Obama
the Nobel Peace Prize, with talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh calling it a "greater embarrassment" than losing the Olympics.
How the Nobel Peace Prize Is
Awarded . The Norwegian Nobel Committee's deadline for nominations was February 1, just 11 days
after Obama's inauguration. Up to 200 nominations are received annually by the committee, a number that has risen
steadily as the award has become increasingly global.
Liberals
astonished by Obama Nobel. The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama is astonishing.
The best grade even the most sympathetic grader could give him in this, his ninth month in office, is
"Incomplete." Predictably, many conservative commentators have reacted negatively to the Nobel
committee's decision. But, more interestingly, so have many liberals.
State
Department Lauds Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by Making Jab at Bush. In a clear dig at former
president George W. Bush, the State Department lauded President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize award by
saying it's better for the U.S. to have "accolades tossed its way, rather than shoes."
A Wicked and
Ignorant Award. It is absurd and it is embarrassing. It would even be infuriating if it
were not such a declaration of emptiness. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has embarrassed itself and
cheapened a great award that had real meaning.
Critics
Smell Politics in Decision to Honor Obama. From a boardroom in Oslo, five Norwegians handpicked
by their nation's parliament are kingmakers of the highest sort, each year honoring at least one individual
or group for landmark achievements worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. Their decision to honor President
Obama less than nine months into his term, however, has critics questioning whether one of the globe's most
prestigious awards has become largely a European political seal of approval.
The Nobel Peace Prize Jumps the Shark.
Part of the fun of living under the Obama Administration is having your news headlines keep turning into April
Fool's Day. This belated April Fool's Day, a bunch of aging left wing Norwegians decided to give away
the Nobel Peace Prize to one Barack Obama... for just being himself.
Nobel Committee Pulls Oil Plug on Democracy.
The real message of the prize's grantors is deeper than what it shyly states: You will be honored if you
keep your hands off our regimes and ideologies. Thus this recognition is not really about abstract
notions or about climate change. It is a message from the authoritarians in the greater Middle East, via
their economic partners in the West, to the United States, to quit pushing for democracy and intervening for
human rights; as the previous administration said it would, but in fact failed to deliver.
Nobel Prize Joke. There was a
time when the Nobel Peace Prize meant something. It went to men and women who earned their stature with
lives of courage such as Andrei Sakharov who openly opposed the oppression of the former Soviet Union and
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who gave his life for the cause of equality in which he believed. Giving
the prize to Barack Hussein Obama has rendered it a joke.
Most Embarrassing Moment.
Yasser Arafat won a Nobel Peace Prize, too. In a way, though, this comparison is unfair to Arafat, who,
by signing the Oslo Accords, had at least accomplished something on paper. What has Barack Obama, in
office less than nine months, actually done to promote peace?
Pointless Nobel
prize reveals how President Obama is lost in his own mystique. Scrap the Nobel Peace Prize.
It's an embarrassment and even an impediment to peace. President Obama, in letting the Committee award
it to him, has made himself look vain, a fool and dangerously lost in his own mystique.
President Obama could win
the Kentucky Derby, too. Is Barack still trying to quit smoking? Let's give him the Nobel
Prize for Medicine. I heard he's finally learned the phrase "p/e" stands for price-to-earnings ratio.
Surely that merits the Nobel Prize for Economics. The head of the IRS, Tim Geithner, is an admitted
serial tax cheat. Ditto, the head of the House tax-writing committee, Charles Rangel. Do they
have a Nobel Prize yet for irony? Or hypocrisy?
Hooray, It Is a
Three-Day Weekend (Controversy). Friday, President Obama told the story of how, just after he
received the news about his Nobel Peace Prize selection, his daughters entered his room. Malia
declared, "Daddy, you won the Nobel Peace Prize — and it is Bo's birthday." Then his
younger daughter Sasha chimed in, "Plus we have a three-day weekend coming up!" If President Obama
was not so self absorbed, this could have been a teachable moment for his youngest daughter.
Is Obama
Another Carter? By accepting the Norwegian Nobel Committee's Peace Prize President Obama
merges even more forcefully now in Americans' minds with Jimmy Carter. That is a fate that Obama
should avoid at all costs.
Obama's
Nobel is an act of ring-kissing, not reward for achievement. You don't have to
dislike [Obama] ... to acknowledge that nominating him for the planet's most prestigious peace
award after he'd been on the job for only one month is like naming Derek Jeter MVP after spring
training. It's an act of pre-emptive encouragement, even ring-kissing — not a
reward for achievement.
O's
albatross. Instead of preening itself on the wonderfulness of honoring Obama, the Nobel
Committee should have worried more that it was actually hanging an albatross around his neck.
Obama Receives Nobel for Being Marxist
President. The Nobel "peace" prize continues to be awarded to those who bring iron-fisted
control over their societies — not peace. But that's what the ruling elite want —
stable suppressed peoples so that these elite can do what they will without fear of reprisal.
Heckuva Job, Barack.
This was Barack Obama's chance. Here was an opportunity to cut himself free, in a stroke, from the
baggage that's weighed his presidency down — the implausible expectations, the utopian dreams,
the messianic hoo-ha. Here was a place to draw a clean line between himself and all the overzealous
Obamaphiles, at home and abroad, who poured their post-Christian, post-Marxist yearnings into the vessel
of his 2008 campaign.
An
Unconstitutional Nobel. People can, and undoubtedly will, argue for some time about whether
President Obama deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Meanwhile, though, there's a simpler and more immediate
question: Does the Constitution allow him to accept the award?
The Affirmative Action Nobel.
In awarding the Nobel Prize for Peace to Barack Obama, the Nobel committee has just made itself look ridiculous.
Consider. Though they had lead roles in ending a Cold War lasting half a century, between a nuclear-armed Soviet
Empire and the West, neither Ronald Reagan nor John Paul II ever got a Nobel Prize.
PC Prize for PC Prez. Last
week Saturday Night Life [sic] finally found the courage to laugh at the obvious fact that Obama has achieved nothing.
He was elected with that understanding. Every liberal pundit knew it. Every American who bothered to search the
web could find out the extent of Obama's inexperience, his huge Leftist blind spots, and his general incompetence.
Obama was elected because he is the earthly incarnation of PC, and that's why the Nobel Committee did what it did.
Nobel Dynamite. The unambiguous
message of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee of the Storting, Norway's parliament, is candidly stated in the public
announcement of the Prize. It is the dream of a world in which the role of the United States of America in all
respects is vastly diminished.
Honored, Humbled but Unsure?
President Barack Obama, upon hearing that he had won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, responded by saying he was both "honored
and humbled." He then went on to tell reporters in the White House Rose Garden that he, "...wasn't sure he had
done enough to earn the award, or deserved to be in the company of the transformative figures who had won it before him."
Barack Obama's uncertainty as to whether he earned the prize indicated that in his own mind, there was a possibility he
might have.
Obama's
ignoble prize. Pity Barack Obama. The last thing he needs is another comparison to Jimmy Carter. ... He's
got enough with Jimmy Carter already. Mr. Jimmy called the president's prize "a positive development." But
celebrating weakness in the face of a challenge and bowing to bullies in an abject hope that the bully will go easy
will always turn a real man's stomach. It's the celebration of weakness that's so infuriating. The anger
is not about Mr. Obama. Not yet. He hasn't done anything.
Vatican Backs Obama's Global Agenda.
Some pro-life Catholics are acting shocked that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to
President Obama, who is pro-abortion. They don't seem to understand that the Vatican and Obama agree on most major
international issues. This is the untold story — how Obama and the Vatican accept major ingredients of
what has been called a New World Order.
I Agree With Obama. This week
the world was shocked — no, dumfounded — when the Nobel Committee announced that they
had awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to Barrack Hussein Obama "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen
international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." BO's response? "I do not feel that I
deserve to be in the company of so many transformative figures that have been honored by this prize." I
never thought I would agree with the man on anything, but I have to say I'm with him all the way on this one.
Debacle in Moscow.
About the only thing more comical than Barack Obama's Nobel Peace Prize was the reaction of those who deemed the award
"premature," as if the brilliance of Obama's foreign policy is so self-evident and its success so assured that if only
the Norway Five had waited a few years, his Nobel worthiness would have been universally acknowledged.
Obama's
Nobel Peace Prize becoming a political lead weight. President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize is
looking less and less like a shiny trophy for his mantel and more like a political lead anchor. Far from
fading from public discussion, Obama's surprise Nobel win just keeps generating comment, derision, and
gratuitous advice about what he can do with it.
The Ogling Obama Award.
[Scroll down slowly] For his part, Obama came out to the Rose Garden and pretended to be embarrassed that he was
being associated with "transformational" figures that have won the Nobel Prize. But this is a man who routinely
compared himself with Abraham Lincoln on the campaign trail. He has about as much humility as Madonna has
dignity, and as President Carter has tact.
Marxism Goes
Mainstream. [Thorbjørn] Jagland loves Karl Marx. And he loves Barack Obama. In
addition to heading the Nobel committee and the European Council, Jagland is a long-time leader of Socialist
International, a worldwide organization of radical left groups and the occasional terrorist organization
dedicated to establishing a world government that will rule through Marxist, collectivist principles.
Obama
wins world chess championship. The World Chess Federation today [10/24/2009] announced that
Barack Obama had become the world chess champion, nudging aside former undisputed champion Viswanathan Anand
of India. The news surprised some in the chess world, because Obama has never participated in
tournament play. But FIDE officials said they felt certain Obama could become world champion
if he ever decided to try.
Obama's Nobel
Peace Prize. President Obama could rise several notches in my book if he refused the Nobel Peace
Prize, with a nice letter to the Nobel Committee that might read: Since you did not see fit to award Ronald
Reagan, the U.S. president who did the most for world peace in this century, by peaceably shutting down the
Soviet Union, I respectfully decline your offer.
An O-Care Victory Will
Make Him More Narcissistic. When Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize that in a way made him
the laughingstock even of the international Left, he snapped it up without a second thought. He just
thinks he deserves it. Just think about that for a second. What kind of a man gets a Nobel
Peace Prize on the strength of no accomplishments, and accepts it as his just due without a
second thought? Obama.
What
Kind of People Could Give a Nobel Peace Prize to Obama? A few days from now, the president of
the United States will fly to this cold, dark, and usually sleepy northern capital to accept a prize that
much of the world still holds in deep respect, even though it should have long since been entirely
discredited in the minds of civilized men.
Keeping
the Nobel Prize would violate the Constitution. Article I of the Constitution states:
"No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of
Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept any present, Emolument,
Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State." Clearly, the
presidency is both an office of "profit" and of "trust" and the prize package (including 1.4 million
clams) is included in the terms "present" or "emolument." Therefore, a sitting president cannot accept
it from a "King, Prince or foreign State" without the consent of Congress.
The Editor says...
The consent of Congress should be pretty easy to get.
Get Serious.
On Dec. 10, our "war president" flew to Norway to accept a surreal Nobel Peace Prize for "his
extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples" and
his "work" to build a "world free of nuclear weapons." In accepting the award, Mr. Obama
eloquently apologized for America's past failures — going back to Woodrow Wilson — and
credited himself with "banning torture" and closing the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.
No candy coating here!
Obama awarded Nobel because he's a Democrat,
liberal and black. Today a grotesque ceremony will be held in Oslo. An American
president who has not yet managed to make peace anywhere in the world will be awarded the Nobel Peace
Prize. He will be awarded the prize even though he is personally responsible for scores of targeted
killings and much slaughter of civilians in aerial bombardments. He will be awarded the prize even
though he has just decided to escalate one of the two ineffectual wars he is conducting.
Barack
Obama Wins a Peace Prize for Nothing. Obama was given a Peace Prize not because he earned
it, but because the Nobel Committee thought he was such a wonderful fellow with great potential. In
other news, look for Barack Obama to be given the Heisman Trophy and preemptively declared the new Ultimate
Fighting Champion based on what he may do next year.
Give the Peace Prize Back, Barack.
Barack Hussein Obama is the first President of the United States who received a Nobel Peace Prize just for
showing up. It is a mark of how debased this once prestigious international prize has become.
He should give it up.
Six months later...
Nobel
Peace Laureate Assassinates American Citizen. This is the same Barack Obama who campaigned on
closing Gitmo (because it's a "recruiting tool" for terrorists). This is the same Obama who condemned
the Bush administration's use of enhanced interrogation, calling the waterboarding of Khalid Sheik Mohammed
for critical information illegal "torture." This is the same president who, but for a sharp turn in
public opinion, would have released more "abused" detainee photos and "prosecuted" the Bush administration for
alleged violations of human rights law. This same Obama preached about his version of "American values,"
which requires extending Miranda rights on the battlefield to captured enemy combatants.
Rep.
Landry: Does Obama still deserve Peace Prize after "amount of people he has killed"? [Scroll down]
From where I sit, though, I'd say the "amount of people he has killed" (given who those people were) makes Obama
more worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize, rather than less (and I kinda assume Landry agrees, even though I
imagine the Nobel Committee wouldn't). ... Still, don't misunderstand me: I didn't think Obama deserved
it in 2009 and I don't think he deserves it now.
Captain
America Abandons the Entire Middle East. If Obama's suicidal actions in the Middle East don't
lead to a major regional war, it will only be a matter of dumb luck. I'm placing my bets the other way.
I'm sorry. I think we're in for big, big trouble. Jimmy Carter's stab-in-the-back to the
shah killed more than a million people and enabled the rise of the first truly throwback (12th-century)
Islamofascist regime in the Middle East. Pretty soon, Obama will have to return his Nobel Peace
Prize to Oslo.
They may revoke Obama's Nobel. Will
an investigation of the Nobel Peace Prize committee lead to a revocation of President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize of
2009? That is a good question as a formal inquiry has begun into the way the committee chooses its winners.
The board of inquiry does have the authority to revoke Obama's award, although that is unlikely, the Associated
Press reported.
Obama puts the Nobel Prize money in his pocket
Obama and the Missing
Nobel Prize Money. The other day I pointed out the fact that President Obama has yet to donate the
money he was awarded as the Nobel recipient. Obama stated he would donate the $1.4 million prize to
charity. It's been several weeks since he received the money and no one knows what's happened to it.
Nobel
Peace Prize: Check's in the mail. President Barack Obama has pledged to donate the proceeds
from his Nobel Prize for Peace to charitable causes. But the president hasn't decided yet what to do
with the money.
The Editor says...
That's a very generous way to say that Mr. Obama put the money in his pocket, where it will
remain unless reporters keep inquiring about it.
Five Easy Questions for Obama:
What exactly did you, or will you, do with the $1.4 million from your Nobel Peace Prize? According
to news reports, your Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said on October 9, 2009 that you would give your Nobel
Prize money to charity. ... It was later reported that you and Michelle contributed $15,000 to the Haiti
earthquake victims via the Clinton-Bush Fund. So just what is the status of that $1.4 million, and
who got it, or is going to get it? Any reason the Haitian victims didn't get all of it, instead of
1% of it?
Where
is Obama's Nobel Prize money? There's some buzz going around the net over the question of what
President Obama has done with the $1.4 million he won as part of the Nobel Peace Prize. Well before
Obama accepted the award, the White House announced he would give the money to charity. Yet it's been
two months since the president went to Oslo, and there's no word of him giving it away.

not have them than to have them and not deserve them."

Overviews of Obama's first year as president
The Content of Obama's
Character. [Scroll down slowly] Another disquieting note is the overarching theme of Obama's
first year of governance: the determination to govern against the preamble of the Declaration of
Independence, which states that government gains its just powers from the consent of the governed. The
American people do not consent to the $787-billion stimulus. They do not consent to the cap-and-trade
bill. They do not consent to the federalization of health care.
The
First Year: A Near Total Disaster. [Scroll down slowly] There is not much good here
and little hope ahead. The first step toward turning things around would be to fire all his Chicago
cronies and political hacks and bring in some grown-ups to run the White House.
Destroying America from Within:
[Scroll down] The current American president is arguably the gravest mistake the American electorate has
ever made and one it may not survive intact. It will inevitably come to regret its decision. This
is not the place to run through the chronicle of Obama's blunders, backslidings, broken promises, outright
lying, despotic tendencies, shallow education, historical falsifications, ludicrous policies, betrayal of
allies, and economic bungling (assuming this is not deliberate) — the record is accessible in all its
details to anyone who wishes to consult it. ... This is a president who is foisting a radical, far-left agenda
on a center-right country and who will not be deterred from ramming his project into existence.
